Happened upon this local spot a couple of trips ago to Atlantic City (we thought it was closer to our hotel than it actually was), but it was worth the 15 minute drive out. We have gone back a couple of times since then. Nice and cozy, and the quality of the food and beverages are great -- especially for their prices. read more

Went on a Friday night. Salad bar comes with a dinner entree. Fresh array of items. My partner had the 12 oz. NY Strip and a baked sweet potato. I had the pan seared scallops and baked potato. Delicious. I brought the remainder of my scallops home and had them for dinner the next day. They were so fresh, NO fishy smell at all. They were cooked perfectly! We were too full for dessert, but I saw some desserts go by, and they looked good. I will definitely go back. read more

Dec 31,2021 4:15 I arrive at LB at 4:15. I didn't have a reservation... the following occurred: Hostess: Good evening, do you have a reservation? Me: No I don't, are there seats at the bar? Hostess: yes, at the far end there are some. Me: ok, thank you Me: walk over to far end about to sit Bartender: sorry but those seats are taken Me: oh I'm sorry the hostess said they were available. Me: I go back to the hostess and informed her that there were no seats. Do you have openings for a reservation? Hostess: No we are booked for the evening, but you can wait for the first available high top, which probably be an 11/2-2 hour wait. Me: ok and I step to the side Hostess: on the phone.... "Yes I have a 5:45 and a 6:15..., ok I will put you down for 6:15 Me: excuse me I just asked you about a reservation and you said you were booked for the evening Hostess: face red... another's older employee (lady) states.. oh she was talking to someone that was on hold and we had a cancellation. Me: ok well I would like to make a reservation for one and I don't care what time it's for. Hostess: I have a 5:45 Me: looking at her confused and she is beat red and can't look at me!! My late husband and I have eaten at Library for years on New Years Eve and never ever had a problem. The food and service was great! Now tonight LB ONE, was blatant!!!! They obviously did not want me to eat there. The treatment I received made me sick to my core! I left and went down the street to Touch of Italy and had a lovely evening. While I was there I met a man named Frank and shared with him what happened.., he says wow that's unacceptable I know the owner... I golf with him, so I'm going to tell him about this. So June 17,2023 my wife my self and 4 other friends of ours had reservations for 6 at LB 1 in egg harbor twp for 630pm . Once we arrived at the restaurant we felt we where racially profiled. While waiting to be ask if we could be help other guests walk-in the host an older lady seen us waiting waiting first but still ask who was first when she clearly seen us there first. My friend told her we have reservations and we where here first . This is when it got really crazy to us she then took us up stairs to another part of the restaurant we walk past a table that was set up for 6 to 8 people. She took us to the back of the restaurant to an separate room that had dirty tables that where not set up . We where totally secluded from the rest of the restaurant patrons. And seated us at a table that was not set up with other dirty all around us away from everyone else . At that time we ask to be moved and ask why we can't sit the the table we just past that was set up and ready, the host said that table is for people that have reservations. We said we have reservations and would like that table , she sad let me find out what gone on. A minute later another young girl came and peek at us twice and left the the older host came back with a bus boy and she told he to set our table up and he got some glasses and started pouring water for us she then said that the other party is here and they are being seated at that table . We explained to her that we where here first and had reservations and it was not right that she didn't give us that table first and that she sat us in the back secluded from everyone else. And that we fill that because we are black she sat us there . So we felt that if the service was bad in the beginning that the food would probably be the same . My friends and my wife and my self are all professionals at what we do for a living and fell that because of the color of our skin we where treated bad . First time here and not disappointed! Our server Suzanne was amazing and made sure to explain to us first timer how things go down at this establishment. **TIP** First off you don't order with your server, you order directly with the chef in charge that night. Interesting right? This way you get exactly what you asked for. Interesting experience I have to say. They also have an all you can eat salad bar and cheese/bread area. **ATMOSPHERE** Very cozy and private is how I'd like to describe the place. We went for dinner and when you enter from the back (where the parking lot is) you're greeted by your host and in front is the bar and a whole slew of armchairs to sit and chat and have a drink. **SERVICE** Great service, each and every one of the staff greeted us with a smile and all made sure we were accommodated. Staff was quick and attentive to our needs. **FOOD** Food was delicious. I would say this is a very reasonable priced place for steak. It was grilled to perfection, exactly the way I'd want it and paired well with the house wine. They had a deal for the NY Strip with choice of side plus a dessert for $24.99 that I jumped at. My fiance got the filet mignon and crab cake. Both were amazing and well worth the price. The salad bar/cheese and bread area was average in my opinion. Nothing special, but I guess they do have the basics down. The vegetables were all fresh looking and clean. The sour dough bread was my favorite and they had a giant block of white cheddar that I enjoyed. But as I said nothing too special about the salad bar area. This was our first time back to LB One since Covid and I must say- we were extremely happy with the whole night! Our server was an absolute pleasure. In all of our years eating at this restaurant, we've always noticed how they always have high-quality service at all times. Our server, Drew, made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant! He was attentive (but not overbearing), very friendly, and any time we needed anything at all, he was on it immediately! Maybe the best part about the service he provided was his spot-on recommendations. He raved about the head chef and suggested the crab cakes, the filet, and the prime rib, above all else.. For our party of 4, we ended up all trying all of his suggestions and wow was he right about the food. Maybe the best meal we've ever had there! The bartender who I believe was named Mo, made some pretty outstanding drinks as well! We also were seated right near the fireplace, which was so perfect on this cold night. The ambiance was great. While Drew was our "main server", we were all impressed with how several different servers (maybe assistant servers?) came over periodically to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted. They either have a great network of employees or maybe we simply lucked out with everyone we had taking care of us this night! Either way, I would recommend this long-standing institution to anyone who really wants the entire package: great food, amazing service, and a great environment! And for those interested, we had four different desserts which were all excellent, however, the Mounds cheesecake was out-of-this-world! Just had a ribeye and baked potato there. The steak was about a quarter fat, maybe even more. The meat itself was pretty good, not great. The baked potato was a reheated one, which is not surprising anymore, but kind of disappointing, as it is a fairly expensive place. I didn't say anything to the waitress or anybody, because my wife gets pissed when I do. But I actually called them after I got home and mentioned the steak, and the hostess just said okay. In the mood for a good steak and reading the high reviews we decided to eat here. First entering the restaurant it seems like your entering a old cabin in the woods. Very dark inside, floor is uneven and lots of dark stained wood on the walls and ceilings, the walls are decorated with books and movie posters. After being seated we were informed this experience would be different. A server takes your drink order, then you go to the kitchen were there is the menu on the wall and you give your order to the chef. Next to the kitchen is a salad bar and a bread bar which comes with your meal. After your app's and main courses are ready your server will bring them to your table. So we started with the salad bar. The lettuce was not fresh and the other toppings seemed old and the bean salad tasted like hair spray. All the bread was dry and seemed like it was day old at best. The butter had a weird consistency it seemed like it had been in and out of the refrigerator or freezer several times. For our apps we ordered a crab cake and seared scallops. Both were really good. For our main course my wife orderd the filet mignon and a baked sweet potato. The sweet potato was good but the steak had zero flavor what so ever. I ordered the rib eye and garlic mash. The garlic mash was excellent but the steak again had zero flavor. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse pie. Not so great, the consistency was off. It seems very dense and overly sweet. Table was a little sticky, as were the menus. We were against a wall and I immediately noticed what looked older food stains on the chair rail, which was 4-6 inches above the table. Placed our orders, headed for the salad bar. maybe 10 toppings? In my mind's eye, they had a massive salad bar - this didn't even rival the old Wendy's one. Food arrived timely, I had the 10 oz. filet, it was perfectly cooked and truly a choice piece of meat. The baked potato was on the small side, but good. To start with I would recommend having a reservation if you plan on having two or more people. I arrived around 545 for a solo dinner and when greeted by the hostess was told even for one person, it would be awhile. I asked if I could order food at the bar and she said that was probably the best idea. Having a seat at the bar Tim the bartender got me taken care of and offered the special of the day which was prime rib. The special came with a generous cut of prime rib all you can eat salad bar, fresh bread and fresh cheese. The salad bar was small but fresh and delicious with the usual offerings for salad as well as macaroni salad and potato salad. The prime rib was tender but I believe it was under seasoned. There was no crust to speak of and I felt obligated to salt the meat to bring out it's true potential. The sweet potato was very good with the cinnamon butter spread. A refreshing surprise was that the special also came with a dessert. The service was above average from Tim and he was attentive to the entire bar by himself. By the time I was done eating my meal the bar was standing room only. I would have liked to of given LB1 that extra star but unfortunately the meat fell substantially short. I will return to LB1 again soon and sample their other offerings. They have the total package but unfortunately, the prime rib fell short for me. The party was scheduled for the day before Mother's Day, and most restaurants were too busy to accommodate us. I ventured into LB ONE, Steakhouse, and they tried to come up with a way to to salvage our party. Suzanne, especially amazing in her efforts to get everything set up. From printing the menu for our party to serving and making all our guests feel at home. I am grateful to LB one and Suzzane for saving our surprise party. The food here was amazing. We ran out of options on the AC strip and heard of this place and went. It was easy to get a reservation. The food was great from the salad bar to the main course. Really dislike having to lower my usually 5 stars for this restaurant to 3 based on Tuesday nights dinner for some out of town family. Really nothing changed except for the quality of the Rib Eye steak that two of our party of five ordered. Definitely not up to the standards expected from this restaurant. My steak was dry even though cooked medium rare. Taste and texture were more on the lines of a sirloin with no marbling or fat content. This updated edition of "The Library" is a big step up from what previously was a drab fire-hazard that was only exacerbated by walls of flammable books. This new location sports a brighter updated interior with the same great food that was previously available. While my first time there, the staff were still a little low on the learning curve; by my second trip they were acting like pros. This place is a hidden gem, for many years I thought this place was a dive bar. I had no idea this place was as nice as it was. Let's start by saying that the services provided by all employees were remarkable. The servers were on point with making sure everyone was taken care of, the waitress came by several times to make sure we were well attended to. The food came out very fresh and within appropriate timing. Everything was made right the first time around, the food tasted delicious.
