The gnocchi was so good that we didn't leave a single bite. Actually, by the end of the meal, the only thing left on the table was a handful of cranberries from the salad. One of my favorite parts was grabbing our wine and walking over to the production area to watch the sunset with all of the huge wine tanks in the background. It made for a really unique setting. There's plenty of parking, a cute little gift shop where we even picked up some dog treats to take home, and the whole place just has a laid back vibe. I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in Newport.

I ordered a clam chowder cup and a hot lobster roll. I don't know if it was because I was there in the winter, but the lobster roll was generally affordable, running you only a bit over $27 which is almost unheard of these days. And they didn't skimp out on the meat too ! The lobster roll was filled to the brim and so delicious. The clam chowder was also incredible. I had never had Rhode Island Clam Chowder before and this seemed like the place to try it. The clear broth was surprisingly flavorful but I still prefer New England. My girlfriend and I ordered a good amount and the food came out pretty quickly. My favorite was the kung pao calamari. The squid was fried perfectly and having the sauce on the side was nice as it didn't leave the breading to get all soggy and I had control over how sweet it would be. The stuffed Quahogs tasted good but I feel like I tasted more of the stuffing over the actual shellfish. It still tasted good, but I feel like I should've gotten more shellfish. We were told they ran out of shells to serve them on so the presentation was off, but they were still tasty. The lobster rolls were both good. They were $27 which seems pretty steep to me but they were actually on the cheaper side compared to other places we saw around Newport. The lobster tasted fresh and the bread was good. They were solid lobster rolls. The food was all solid, but for the price I wasn't wowed.

We especially love stopping here with our son on the way home from soccer practice...it's become one of those little traditions we all look forward to. The crust was soft and I dipped it in some beer cheese that came with my friend's pretzel (the cheese seemed a little watery to me but had a distinct beer flavor, so bonus points for actually being a beer cheese!) I couldn't tell if a couple of my beers got rearranged on my flight board, so wasn't sure which I liked and didn't. One was smokier than I would have thought it would be but had a sweet taste. The Boch was a bit bitter for my taste. I really enjoyed the White Stout most of all to my surprise - normally a heavier beer is just okay and not the favorite of my taste buds, but this one was so unique in style and crispiness. The beers all seemed very European leaning and authentic in flavor, although a bit on the heavier / less sweet side (fitting for the colder weather but not my personal favorite). The trivia host seemed to have a lot of regulars and the volume wasn't overbearing, I'll have to check it out again and actually play next time.
