Escargot. Amazing.
Mike J.

This is my second review of this restaurant. The food is and always has been on my experience, great. I looked at some of the peoples less than stellar reviews and I just don't understand it. Food is consistently excellent with great service. We brought our friends from New York tonight and it was great. They couldn't stop raving about their food. Don't listen to the bad reviews. They clearly don't understand food.

Le Bistro French Steakhouse

Enjoyed a cozy dinner-a-deux at Le Bistro last night! Christmas Day, the hostess at the restaurant we had planned to go to must've thought we meant Christmas EVE instead of Christmas DAY. They were closed. We were literally All Dressed Up With No Place to Go! Trusty Google saved the day! We landed at Le Bistro, French, Steakhouse, a delightful & charming spot on 4626 N Federal in LHP. They were so kind to accommodate us at the last moment... it was just lovely! Our appetizers were: a beautiful greens salad with onions, green olives, hearts of palm, radish, and tomato with a light dijon vinaigrette (he), escargot with perfect garlic butter and a mini French bread for dipping (me). Intermezzo was a light shaved mango sorbet which cleansed our palates for the entree. He: tender turkey with sage & onion dressing, tasty gravy, mashed potatoes light n' buttery, and green beans. Me: roast beef, medium rare, tasty beef gravy, bearnaise sauce on the side, burgundy truffle whipped potatoes and tiny asparagus tips. The merlot, Chevalier Alexis Lichine, vin de France, was smooth as soft velvet. So good & reasonably priced I enjoyed two generous glasses Dessert was couveture chocolate mousse (he) and vanilla creme brulee (me). And cups of the best coffee! Ambience is soft and delightfully cozy. We enjoyed a cozy half-booth in the corner. The service was impeccable & unobtrusive. I dreamed of enjoying a French Onion soup here on a chilly, blustery night. Holiday dinner is prix fixe and expensive (but SO worth it!). Wine is reasonably priced. I imagine regular dinner service would be high end, however, I believe if you'd enjoy a French Steakhouse that would be as comfortable in the South of France as it is on Federal in LHP. They're open 5-9:30 pm Mon-Thu, 5-10 pm Fri & Sat, 5-9 pm Sunday. Definitely call for reservations: 954.946.9240 It was a night to remember...

Hole in the wall family owned restaurant with great food and friendly staff! Brought my mom here for her birthday and everything was delicious! Our server was super sweet and made dinner very pleasant. We ordered from the Dine Out Lauderdale menu and each had 3 course meal. I started with the blue crab cake and it was packed with crab. The fish eggs on top and the cucumber pieces made everything refreshing. The lamb chops were very tender and juicy. The gravy sauce was amazing. The green beans and mini tomatoes were a nice compliment to the meat. My creme brulee was the perfect sweet end to my courses. My mom's escargot was garlicky and delicious. Lots of garlic butter to dip the bread in. The fish of the day was Atlantic cod and it was pan fried with capers. It was light and my mom really enjoyed it. The mango sorbet cake dessert was also very light but a bit on the sweet side. It's came beautifully displayed in a martini glass. Will definitely be back for more amazing French cuisine.

One of the best meals my brother and I have EVER had! Chilean sea bass melted in my mouth and was surrounded by delicious fresh vegetables. My brother had a rack of lamb that was perfectly juicy and tender. The chocolate torte dessert was very rich and the strawberries tasted ripe. Not hard to see why this has been of the few successful Kitchen Nightmares restaurants. Elin was a friendly and attentive hostess/server. Andy also wished us well. The cozy yet elegant atmosphere was very calming after a stressful day. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We had a lovely dinner here for my birthday in this small restaurant in lighthouse point. It is located on the east side of federal highway/US 1 in the same shopping strip as papas raw bar, so the spaces fill up fast. Luckily, we'd read on their website before coming that they have spaces set aside with traffic cones. As directed, we removed one of the cones and pulled into one of their reserved parking spaces right in front of the restaurant. We've been dining early to avoid any crowds, and here, too, we started out as the first table occupied inside. It is not a fancy decorated venue, but was comfortable. We had very attentive and pleasant service throughout even after a few other parties arrived. We skipped a salad or appetizer to save room for dessert. My husband was happy to start with a glass of a favorite wine by Kim Crawford, however. I ordered their breast of duck entree. The duck was perfectly cooked as ordered, sliced and presented as a tower atop a potato hash. The "hash" was seasoned cubed potatoes mixed in with green beans. All was on top of a light cassis based sauce. There were blueberries around the edge of the plate (in keeping with the berry cassis) and very thin slices of candied orange peel. As the sauce was not sweet, I wound up pairing a sliver of orange peel with each piece of tender duck. My husband had their steak frites special. The small steak was flavorful, cooked also as ordered, with a peppercorn sauce on the side that gave it a bit of personality. It came with a basket of crispy hand cut steak fries. For dessert, we shared their apple tart with vanilla ice cream. We asked for the ice cream to be served on the side -- it is usually served on top of the warm tart. It was a nice surprise to have a birthday candle in the ice cream! And she was nice enough to take our "official" photo -- which we do every year. The tart was an airy puffy base topped with thick sliced apples, cinnamon, and powdered sugar. The vanilla ice cream was a rich pairing. A tasty dinner here was the perfect setting for a low key birthday celebration.

What a great place! Came to dinner here with my husband and my 19 month old. We loved it!! We loved the ambiance, the jazz music, the lighting and the feel of the restaurant. It's the type of place you can really enjoy a glass of wine and feel super cozy in. It's very intimate and overall had a great vibe. The food was also amazing! We had crab cake, risotto (best I've ever had!) and the beef Wellington!! everything was so delicious! They even gave us a complimentary frozen mango dessert! We are coming back for sure! Highly recommend it! You will love it!

If you want culinary mastery Le Bistro is the place for you! I was a line cook for 8/9 years. So I know a thing or two about food production. Andy prepared the most delectable beef Wellington and Duck breast. So good. And his pallet cleansers were so good, the crème brûlée was amazing. Like seriously. And Elin was such a doll. 10/10. One of the best dining experiences in south Florida. Sorry for my ugly photos. I was dying to eat

As far as what we ate, we were all very happy. We had 1/2 dozen oysters, shrimp cocktail, bone-in ribeye steak cooked to perfection, 19 oz. filet mignon, sole fish, baked potato, Mac & cheese, roasted Brussels sprouts, crab and shrimp fried rice. We were all very satisfied and even had doggy bags. This is the best place to celebrate life!

The $34 three course lunch special is appealing with a soup or salad, chicken, salmon or sliced fillet with a sorbet, cheesecake or key lime pie for dessert. In 1927, Gallaghers first opened on 52nd Street, by former Ziegfeld girl Helen Gallagher the wife of Ed Gallagher of the vaudeville comedy team Gallagher & Shean. It was a speakeasy during prohibition & the place to find gamblers, sports figures, and Broadway stars. Now Gallaghers is in Boca, Vegas & NYC. Eight of us enjoyed our garden table & all of the options on the lunch menu. Renato took very good care of us and did a fabulous job of understanding and dividing the bill. Everybody seemed to enjoy their generous courses, and all of the steaks were prepared perfectly to order. My wedge salad, black and blue fillet and Keylime pie were generous and delicious.

I understand they're really crowded surprisingly this time of the year, but OK but still the reservation was for seven and I shouldn't have to stand there and wait for 35 minutes did mention it to the manager we sat down it took us about 10 minutes before anybody even came over to us OK it is a busy night trying to enjoy myself here they sent us over a complementary appetizer. That was nice. We also had a salad a wedge I must say totally disappointed lettuce with blue cheese dressing, but no crumbled blue cheese I had to ask for that after all this is a wedge salad next we had oysters and they were very small not happy about that but OK and they were just OK. We then had a rib steak which was good and halibut which was also good. I ordered a baked potato. It came out twice with brown spots inside and overcooked after the second time I said, forget about it unfortunately, this was not the way I really wanted to enjoy my meal on a Saturday night, especially an expensive meal, !!and especially it was a special occasion extremely loud restaurant very difficult to hear each other talk not sure when I'll be returning. Just an afterthought, I was in New York at Gallagher's. Everything went very smoothly. My reservation was met exactly at 7 PM as I arrived and everything came out like it was supposed to even that it was crowded. They made sure that every customer felt important. I did not feel that way in this restaurant
