This was my second visit to Le Coffee Shop. My first time back in 2021 was amazing, great service, cozy vibe, and the pastries were genuinely memorable. Unfortunately, this recent visit didn't live up to that experience. I've been missing my daily bakery and café stops since returning from France, and while I don't expect a U.S. spot to match a French boulangerie, I was really disappointed this time. The croissant was literally raw in the center, and the French toast was undercooked and doughy. It just felt like the baking quality had dropped significantly. It was a nice day so we sat out on the patio. I ordered the Crepe with Berry Marmalade and a Lavender Mocha Latte. Both were delicious! I also got a taste of the Spinach Quiche and the Croque Madame. Again, both were delicious. I love that while I was waiting in line a nice young man handed me a menu. I placed my order, got a number and found a table. My food was delivered to the table. Today, I drove an hour up to Temecula to meet some friends. We decided to try Le Coffee Shop, a French bakery in Old Town Temecula which was recommended by one of my friends that is a local to the area. It was easy to find and conveniently located near the freeway. The ordering process was simple: you wait in line, place your order at the register, receive a number, and then find seating--either outdoors or in their indoor space next door. Since it was my first time there, I wanted to sample a few things. At the register, I ordered three items: an iced Vietnamese coffee, a berry crepe, and a BCO omelette. I distinctly remember choosing a side salad to go with my omelette because it comes with a choice of a side salad or fruit. After giving my order to the cashier, I didn't double-check the screen, but I did see that there were three items rung up, so I quickly paid (including gratuity), opted out of a receipt, and moved on. I was the last in my group to order, so I didn't want to hold things up. We found a spot on the patio, and the food came out quickly. The restaurant had an efficient system despite the busy atmosphere. My friends received their meals, and I got my coffee and crepe. Then my "meal" arrived--but it wasn't what I ordered. Instead of the omelette, they brought me a sandwich with a side salad. I let the waiter know that it wasn't mine. They looked confused, left, and came back again, asking if I was sure. Again, I told them it wasn't my order. After another back-and-forth, a man--who I assume was either the manager, owner, or head chef--approached me. Instead of trying to clarify or resolve the issue, he immediately insisted that the sandwich was my order. When I explained that I had ordered an omelette, he asked for my receipt. I told him I didn't have it since I had opted out of printing one. I then felt forced to pull up the menu on my phone, since I was struggling trying to remember the exact name of the omelette. As I was explaining, he cut me off and said, "What you ordered is a sandwich." Instead of acknowledging that there may have been a miscommunication or mistake at the register, he doubled down, adding, "It's very important to read the order on the cashier's screen." He also tried to justify it by saying, "The sandwich is very good." At this point, he left and returned with an iPhone or some type of device, shoving the screen in my face with my order pulled up. "Is this your receipt?" he asked. It was, but the wrong item was listed. He then asked, "Do you want me to print it?" which felt unnecessarily passive-aggressive. I just said, "No thanks, I'll eat the sandwich," and without another word, he stormed off. The whole interaction was rude, condescending, and completely unnecessary. Mistakes happen--but the way he handled it was unprofessional. Rather than acknowledging that the cashier may have misheard me, he acted as if I was the problem. He didn't offer to correct the order, apologize, or even show a hint of understanding. The food itself? The crepe was good, the sandwich (that I didn't order) wasn't bad, and the coffee was decent. But the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Even my friends, who witnessed the whole thing, agreed that his tone and attitude were off-putting. They felt bad and even offered to share their food with me because they saw how uncomfortable and unnecessary the whole situation was. At the end of the day, good food isn't enough to make up for bad customer service. Would I go back? Probably not. read more

Was traveling to Temecula for some wedding venues and decided to stop for breakfast at le coffee shop. From the start, the ambiance was great with a small inside but a fair amount of seats outside which we found well for a Saturday morning. The service was great as well, as people were shooting out from the interior serving coffees, food items, etc at a good pace. In terms of the food and coffee, I thought it was solid! Great little spot in Old Town. It was so great, my husband and I came back two days in a row while visiting Temecula. The first day, we ordered breakfast and coffee to have at the cafe. The quality of their food is great. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and coffee. The second day, we ordered coffees to go and ordered the cinnamon roll and chocolate croissant. Both pastries were great. The staff are also very friendly and were open to share recommendations. Overall, great service and great food. Definitely a place worth checking out. read more

Checked out this place because my daughter has been super into brunch and iced coffee. I will start by saying it's a small, quaint little shop- there is no indoor seating, and minimal outdoor seating. The service was friendly, but not necessarily good. We ordered a few items, the coffees and my breakfast came out first, shortly after they brought the crepe. We then waited for a good 10 minutes while they brought out other food to tables after us. I went back in and they had totally forgotten my daughters breakfast, which isn't horrible, it happens, it's just not great when one meal comes out and is cold by the time the next one comes out. The food was okay, maybe our choices weren't the best. The crepe was good, and we also got a chocolate croissant which honestly was underwhelming. The coffee was strong, but had decent flavor. Overall, we personally are glad we got to try it, but wouldn't go out of our way to go back. They do have beautiful almond croissants though and we should have tried one of those. If you have a sweet tooth, it's a decent try for sure and they do have traditional French food items, which are fun. Met my daughter for a lunch date here during the week and I must say it's the best time to go away from busy weekends. Their coffees are so good! We both had the salmon omelette and it was delicious. They're located closer to the entrance point (off Rancho California) and there's lots of parking if you get there early. This spot never disappoints. I would say that they are definitely the best French cafe in town. Every breakfast offering is so good. My faves are the omelettes, waffles and quiches. They are consistent. The food is great, and the service is great. Most staff is friendly except for one or two people that work the cash register. The concern of mine is they allow dogs inside including near the register where there are uncovered pastries. Dog hair floats and can land anywhere. Seems very unhygienic and possibly a violation of food code perhaps. Not to mention people who may be allergic to dogs. I love dogs so nothing against them but when there is open food that should be taken into consideration. I recently found Le Coffee Shop a few months ago and have been a handful of times. We absolutely loved the service, food, and cozy patio outside. However, I was disappointed with the new menu change. Previously, the omelet and sandwich came with a choice of potatoes. Now, you have to add a side of potatoes for the omelette and get a $2 charge for the breakfast sandwich. It'll take me a moment to get over that but the quality is still there. Favorite: the veggie omelette with a cappuccino. The salmon omelette is good too but feels a bit over cheesy. read more

I've been here twice and I'll definitely be coming back, my waffle the second time I will say was a little overdone but when you have strawberries and Nutella over it, it's easier to overlook. It was still good and the attention to detail is also gorgeous. I will say that the waffle is slightly smaller but it's generally the perfect amount to finish without getting overly full.
