Coming from OC, I will always be coming to this place when I visit my friends. Le Herisson is a cute shop with a nice, inviting aroma. There's indoor and outdoor seating, nice decorations and a cozy atmosphere. The pastries look amazing and they taste even better. Was sad that Marie's cafe is gone but Le Herrison has proved to be a worthy replacement. My wife and I go here a little too often. The French pastries and desserts are very high quality and the service has always been friendly. Nice cozy space and hoping they grow and expand. I have been here so many times I can't even put a number to it. This bakery is one of my favorite places and clearly a favorite in the community as it's common for (quick moving) lines to be present. I don't think I've gotten a single item here that wasn't insanely delicious, be it savory pastries, desserts, or drinks. You really can't go wrong here. It's both a blessing and curse that the chef bakes what she feels like because you get a rotating menu that incorporates seasonal items like chestnuts in the fall or summer shaved ice. The inside may be small but it's clearly filled with love and cute little hedgehogs as the name signifies. Wanted to treat myself to a little treat this morning for breakfast. This was such a cute hedgehog themed cafe! I got the matcha mochi brioche, chef's special, and chocolate croissant. The standout was not surprisingly the chef's special which was a spicy sausage pastry with corn and jalapenos. It had a strong kick to it and was very delicious! The absolute best bakery in town! Soo many delicious pastries (sweet and savory) available and each one is crafted thoughtfully with the highest ingredients. Each delectable dessert ranges between $3-$6. I also tried a hot matcha latte and it wasn't too sweet. The matcha tastes very earthy and not too sweet. I was offered multiple options for milk and I chose oatmilk. Le Herrison is located next to Stater Bros grocery and a Mexican restaurant. Parking is limited to the storefront but there is a lot of parking by the grocery store. I love the hedgehog theme here. There's a sign that says no pets allowed and it is a cashless business. Wow. Just wow. They absolutely blew my mind here. I have never heard of Le Herisson before, but once trying it, I don't know how more people aren't talking about it! Right off the bat, this cafe is so cute. Loved all the decorations inside, and it's just such a cozy feel. We stayed to eat our pastries, and it was just such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Everything looks so delicious here. Their strawberry croissant was my favorite of their sweeter pastries - fresh, flaky croissant stuffed with custard, whipped cream, and strawberries - absolutely delightful! They're so popular that the guy in line behind me was asking how many I was planning to buy so he knew how many he could order. The Popeye ended up being my absolute favorite, though. This savory treat is a combination of egg, pastry, bacon, cheese, and spinach. All baked with that nice crisp to it. The perfect breakfast (or lunch) treat! They also serve drinks, and their Belgium Hot Chocolate was our big winner. Staff here are all so wonderful! A great find. Perfect for a grab and go order or to sit down and enjoy. I have been hearing amazing things about Le Hérisson Bakery for months! I'm part of a foodie group & many in that group say that this is a hidden gem! So, when I saw that they'd be part of the women-owned businesses highlighted for Women's History Month I was thrilled! The bakery itself is very unassuming & was a part of a strip mall with a large grocery chain as the highlight of it. The bakery was so cute & adorable. It was quaint, cozy & inviting. It's not very big inside, but the beautiful pastries were so high impact, it didn't matter. I had a game plan for the day since I'd have to drive to 2 different events today, on either ends of the county. Since bakeries like these aren't open all day & the earlier you go, the fresher the pastries, and that's why I left my house at 8:30 am. I would have loved to have one of their matcha lattes or drinks, but I arrived at 9:30 & if I did that, I'd be up all night! Boy, was I so tempted. It was a Thursday morning, so there weren't tons of people there, but there were more people than a sleepy donut shop. There was a very short line when I got there. Then I saw fellow Yelper, Jonathan & talked about our ordering strategy. We both wanted to know what we were receiving before we ordered. Then I also was chatting with a young lady who says her & her family are well known there because they go so often. She suggested the cookies, but I forgot to grab one. We were given a generous box of pastries. Yelp Elite's got a box of 4 pastries Strawberry Croissant Chocolate Croissant Crème Puff Curry Stuffed Bread What additional pastries I ordered... 1/2 Loaf Milk Bread Espresso Croissant Almond Croissant Blueberry Custard Pastry Savory Jalapeño & Cheddar Bread My total was about $23, which I happily paid. I eagerly took photos of my goods while still at the bakery, for fear they would get ruined in transport. Then I pulled the almond croissant apart because it was calling my name! The first bite was heaven! Awww, the amazing flakey layers! Soooo buttery, fresh & just perfect. There was something sweet, creamy & syrupy in the middle. I don't know how I was able to stop myself. I managed to put everything away and make the 45 minute drive back home. As soon as I got home, I made a quick, one egg scramble with & cut the savory jalapeño & cheese bread. I don't always eat this way. I prefer a plant-based life, but I do reserve things like this as treats. It was sooo buttery & yummy! Definitely not something I recommend having daily or even weekly. It was pretty AHHHMAZING! I was good & took only a bite of the blueberry custard thing. I'm lactose intolerant so anymore of that would have been dire. It was good, but I wouldn't say it was the best I've had. I was actually surprised by the crust. I wasn't expecting it. I guess I expected something more of a tart type crust. This was not it. It was beautiful, but not my first choice. What I did eat all of was the strawberry croissant... it was DELECTABLE. It was so easy to eat! Too easy to eat. It's dangerously good. Wow!!! What an amazing find. Stopped in for a croissant and ordered the prosciutto and brie croissant and the cinnamon pecan croissant with a Belgium hot chocolate. We asked to cut them in half to share. The prosciutto and brie was absolutely delicious! It had a minty taste with a sweet jam. The cinnamon pecan was softer and more cinnamony than an actual cinnamon roll...amazing!!! Ended up buying 2 more to take home! Seating is a series of tables for two, decorated cutely for Halloween. 5 Stars for the Amazing food. My favorites are the savory items. However, major complaint and why I took away a star. They are ALWAYS sold out of their best sellers by the time I can get there. So they are losing business and money by me and many people. I show up at noon and already all the Japanese Sausage breads and sausage danishes are gone. I easily would buy 5 and more for my entire family but they only have enough to last for the early morning crowd. A lot of us do not have the luxury to arrive here by the early morning. If you don't have enough for customers who arrive by very early afternoon, you simply don't make enough for demand. If you know certain items sell out way too early, you should concentrate on making more of them instead of the less popular items that do not sell out as fast. I have work and family to take care of. Many people have reasons they cannot arrive in the wee early hours of the morning to come by your food. I did not arrive late either. It was only 12 noon. If you can't make enough of the most popular items to last long enough to allow customers to come buy them, you're losing out on business. I simply walked out as I have several times before and might not come back. read more

I went to Simi Valley for Yelp Experience and stopped by this French Japanese cafe. I always would like to try Japanese owned businesses because I'm a Japanese and it's suited to Japanese tastes. I ordered Matcha danish, pecan croissant and walnut Apple muffin. Everything was delicious. They have also cookies and cakes. Service is great. One of the cashiers, she was Japanese who were very friendly and nice, we talked in Japanese. If you want to try this bakery, I suggest arriving in the morning. This review is long overdue. I can easily say that Le Herisson is one of the best (if not the best) Asian bakery in Simi Valley. And yes, this includes the beloved 85 degrees. Le Herisson is a small bakery located in the same plaza as Stater Bros and Yolanda's. The plaza can get busy, but parking is overall easy to find. When you first walk in, you are greeted by a line of very delicious looking pastries. The bakery is a fusion of Japanese and French style pastries, so some of the flavors are very unique. My personal favorite (out of the ones that I have tried so far) is the Caprese Danish. There is also a nice drink selection. I personally love the Iced Matcha Latte, which I think is some of the best matcha you can find in the area. Service is great. The interior is super cute and reminds me of a cute cafe in Paris. Overall, I highly recommend checking out this place if you are in the area. If you love pastries, you won't regret coming here! read more

Between my husband and I, we've gone three times in the last week and a half and it's be absolutely divine. So far I've tried the ham and cheese, cherry danish and matcha Red bean croissant. While they have each been delicious on their own, my favorites have been the Popeye and Maple Pecan Croissants. So excited to have a Japanese French bakery in Ventura County! I've been wanting to make the drive out here to check out the bakery since they opened and finally made it! Sadly I arrived around 2:30pm in the afternoon and they ran out of most items already. It was filled with an egg, ham, spinach and cheese. The pastry was still flaky. Great item to share! The regular croissant was delicious. Flaky and buttery. Can't go wrong with a croissant! The Matcha muffin had a strong authentic matcha taste which I appreciate. It also tasted like it had some white chocolate chips too. Good taste but the muffin seemed a little dry and crumbly. The chocolate chip pecan cookie was crispy and crunchy. Had a good texture. Liked the balance between sweetness and nuttiness. Great with coffee! Cute spot with some tables and chairs for dining in. They also had some pies which I didn't try. Would love to come back and try their other pastries and drinks. Service was good and there was plenty of parking in the lot.
