Parking in this area is always a lil scarce but it's well worth it. The service here is great! The staff is super friendly and informative about the different flavor profiles the restaurant has to offer. The location is clean and all that, don't even get me started on the food. I visited here with a friend for the first time and we tried something we had never had before - the vermicelli rice noodles dishes. I had #15 Cha Ca La Vong , which is Vermicelli rice noodles with grilled fillet of turmeric basa fish & shrimp, fried vegetable spring rolls, pickled carrots & jicama, beansprouts, cucumbers, chopped lettuce & mint, fried onions and peanuts with a side of house-made fish sauce vinaigrette (copied directly from their menu). OMG - so tasty! The fish with turmeric was not a strong taste at all. Very light yet tasty. It didn't seem spicy or herby at all. I enjoyed the fish a lot actually. I also loved the different textures with the crispy bean sprouts against the soft rice noodles, and then all the different vegetable ingredients and spices. The combination of the flavors was amazing. And I liked the added touch of the egg roll. My friend who is vegan had the #16. Bun Cha Gio Veggie, which is Vermicelli rice noodles with sautéed lightly fried and steamed tofu, broccoli, bok choy, carrots, cabbage and mushrooms, fried vegetable spring rolls, pickled carrots & jicama, beansprouts, cucumbers, chopped lettuce & mint, fried onions and peanuts with a side of house-made soy sauce vinaigrette. I certainly couldn't complete my Los Angeles vacation without having some Vietnamese Food. I had checked the reviews for Le Pho & seen some of the pictures from fellow Yelpers. I've been a big fan of Vietnamese Food for a very long time, have dined at so many Vietnamese restaurants in many cities. Le Pho is on top of my list for the best Vermicelli Bowl I've ever had. Superior quality, generous portion and great value! I ordering the #15 Vermicelli Bowl with lemongrass steak, shrimp & spring roll. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender & flavorful. Shrimp size was larger than what most other restaurants serve in such vermicelli entrees, I was totally impressed! The spring roll was also very good, full of flavor . Only one word described it... DELICIOUS!! Le Pho also did a great job enforcing Los Angeles Covid safety measures, requiring proof of vacation before allowing dining in. The restaurant did appear to be understaffed with only one server attending to all customers. Yet, still able to maintain an incredible service level....Great Job! My husband and I came in last week and ordered a ton of food: vegetarian pho, vegetarian vermicelli noodle salad, and vegetarian fried rice. They were all delicious and huge portions! Much bigger than most Vietnamese restaurants we've been to, that's why we ordered three plates, but we couldn't finish everything because these were generous portions. We were very happy. Shocking. I've never had pho this horrific in my life. I ordered steak and tendon pho with extra steak, a side of thai iced coffee, coming out to a total of $37. With Postmates fee and tips, it ended up being $55. I was confused after the first bite, so I tried it again. After 3 bites, I really could not eat anymore, and threw everything away. You know when you run out of hand soap, and you add water to the bottle with remaining bits of soap to keep using it for a while? That's how their broth tasted like - as if they just kept adding water to the pot so it would pick up some scent from the old broth, but tasted like absolute nothing. Same thing with the coffee, tasted like it was distilled with 50% water. Threw it away too. The steak came fully cooked in the hot broth but still completely red, abnormally red like a hot dog, and tasted like rat meat processed through chemicals to taste sort of like beef. Probably frozen processed meat. I had to stop because I knew I would get food poisoning if I continued. Usually, even when I find certain food to be bad, I still eat half of it anyway. This time I truly, truly was not able to swallow any of their food. Can't believe I spent $55 on that, but throwing the food away was totally worth it. read more

I'm writing this with a sore throat and could reaally use some Le Pho right now. The hearty broth, huge portions, and heartwarming service here radiate comfort and would be the perfect remedy for anyone under the weather...or just anyone in general. Came here with a friend since we were craving something warm and soupy after a chillier-than-expected evening at the beach. Not many places that fit our criteria were open during the late hour besides Le Pho, and we arrived around 9pm and were seated immediately. My friend is vegetarian so she got the vegetarian pho, and after debating between a few different choices, I got the fish pho per Roland's recommendation which I am very thankful for! I love, love, love that my fish pho included vegetables. I prefer meat in my pho, but I am always side-eying my friend's vegetables to the point where we have a running joke about how I should BYOB (bring my own broccoli) whenever we get pho together. But not this time! My bowl had as much veggies as hers, and with a great variety too--broccoli, bok choy, carrot, cabbage, oyster AND enoki mushroom, probably more that I'm forgetting. They were very generous with the fish as well to the point where I couldn't even see the heaping pile of noodles at the bottom of it all. I think the fish was catfish but I'm not too sure--I liked that it was kept plain rather than potentially oversalted, (and boneless for those who are worried about that). In general the whole dish felt very clean and healthy, despite the bloating that occurred after finishing the whole thing! Service was also fantastic. I had originally felt slightly guilty coming in so late and taking a while to eat our large portions, but at no point did I feel that we overstayed our welcome, even when we were the last customers in the restaurant. In fact, Roland was very friendly and checked in on us periodically throughout our meal. He even took the time to get to know us and gave us almost too many freebies post-meal. It was a very homely atmosphere and I felt like we were being taken care of here. I'm very glad we gave this place a try as it was definitely the food highlight of our short trip to LA. By the end of our meal, the fact that this place has 4 1/2 stars had us wondering if they bought their reviews. This was by far the worst Vietnamese food we've had in LA. My poor parents, visiting from NYC, were scarred LOL. The pho broth tasted like a bowl of hot water that some chicken bones had been sitting in. There were no aromatics, none of the key spices that tell you you're about to dig into a bomb bowl of true authentic pho. The rice was mushy & overcooked for the com thit heo nuong, & the meat was spongy- it reminded us of the white foam meat inside of McDonald's chicken nuggets! And, oddest of all, it came with a side of unseasoned steamed broccoli?? It came off as a frozen vegetable medley they bought from the freezer section at the supermarket & just heated up for us. I have never ever seen Vietnamese food come with broccoli. There were no signature pickled daikon or carrots on the side, but I have to say- their homemade fish sauce & chile blend were the only delicious things on our table. Give credit where credit's due! It tasted like someone's Viet grandma made her special recipes for us. However, the final nail in the coffin was their "vietnamese iced coffee". My dad, who has been drinking and making viet iced coffee since he was a kid (decades at this point), could not have more than a few sips as it was overly watery, flavorless, & once again had no business calling itself a viet iced coffee . They gave us a cup with a thin layer of condensed milk at the bottom, & all we could do is laugh- we couldn't wait to finish our meal and pack up outta there. Le Pho is a place that maybe is owned by Vietnamese people, but definitely makes food for non Vietnamese people who don't know any better. I'm not sure why else people are still eating here. It felt like a huge waste of money. My dad actually didn't order anything because he could tell the food was about to flop- and he was right! Low key wanted to keep spot on the low low but that'll be extremely selfish of me. I have tried many different pho restaurants in the Greater Los Angeles and I'd have to say that Le Pho has officially entered top 3 on my list. Pho broth is thick and deep with so much flavor while the noodles are perfectly cooked. As soon as it reaches the table, it's ready to go. It's my second time at Le Pho and the consistency is there. Will have to update after my third try! The worker there always greets us with a smile and makes us feel comfortable as a customer. Only request: fried rice is a little too moist/wet for my liking. Summary: If you are looking for a good yummy no MSG pho and other Vietnamese dishes with friendly servers closing to The Grove in Fairfax around West Hollywood area, here is the place. IMHO, it is better than many places I have tried (I live in Anaheim and close to Westminster and Garden Grove). Food: We ordered four items and all of them were great. 1. GOI CUON: This comes with 2 pieces of fresh rolls. If I remember correctly, one was shrimp only and the other was shrimp and chicken. The portion of meat in there was right. The wrapped noodle was fresh, soft and the sauce was yummy. 2. PHO BOVIEN: This is Pho with meatballs with beef broth. - The soup was great, and the best part is it tastes good without MSG. If you have been having Pho in Vietnamese restaurants, you would probably know that a lot of places put tons of MSG there where you have to drink water a lot when you get home and probably up until in the next morning. Not for this place. - The meatballs were soft, and you don't feel like flour meatballs (if you know what I mean), and the portion was right compared with the noodles, and I was full (90kg). It's great. 3. PHO GA: This is Pho with chicken and the best part is they use separate chicken broth for this. So, for a lot of those who cannot eat beef, but want to eat Pho. This place is definitely one of the best Pho restaurants with separate chicken broth. 4. COMBO LEMONGRASS CHICKEN, PORK and STEAK: comes with either steamed rice or brown rice. We picked white rice because that is how it should be eaten with. Of course, for healthy folks you can choose brown rice. Either rice, all three different kinds of meat were soft, feel juicy and the best part is to dip with their homemade garlic chili sauce (I believe it was the red lid). OMG, I feel like they should have the second branch around my house. Service: Wonderful! The servers there were friendly and provided you information if needed especially if you are the newcomer. Ambiance: Nice, the place looks relaxed and clean. You can stay inside or outside the restaurant. Price: It is comparable with other Pho restaurants in the area. read more

I love that the workers here are so friendly and that this is open pretty late until 10:30pm! The waitress I had was very attentive and kind which I feel like people don't get very often at pho restaurants. I ordered the fried spring rolls and it had the perfect flaky crunchy texture and a delicious tangy dipping sauce. I tried my mom's banh xeo (crispy crepe) and that also had a wonderful fry to it. Their iced coffee is great because you get to press it yourself in a machine they give you with the condensed milk and ice. I also really enjoyed their Thai tea! I got their combination pho which was pretty good, but I feel like the broth could be a little bit more flavorful. I understand if there are low sodium/no MSG but this soup tasted like they did not boil the bones from more than maybe an hour the broth taste very watery and I don't taste any of the spices that should be in pho. I'm really surprised because the reviews are so good here? To be honest, this is one of the most tasteless I have ever had. I will say they did include a lot of meat, broth and noodles, but given the fact that the broth is not flavorful it's still disappointing. If it were just low sodium, I could easily just add some salt, but the problem is that the broth has none of the aroma and flavor typical of pho. I truly love this place! The setting is plain, but comfortable, with spacious indoor seating as well as outdoor seating on a gated patio area. They have wonderful pho, with fresh tasting broth and ingredients, and flavorful house made sauces. The menu says the broths are low sodium, which I appreciate. The water is infused with citrus fruits, and they even give you a peanut butter cup along with a fortune cookie with the check, which are additional nice touches. I really wanted to like this place because I love Asian food. I got the "BUN CHA GIO THIT NUONG" with steak in a to-go order. When I got home and saw the packaging It was very neatly packaged and the amount of food was plenty....like you could share it possibly with another person if your'e both not that hungry but could eat. The steak was extremely tough, dry and overcooked. When someone orders steak as an addition to whatever....salad, noodles, rice etc....the odds are they want it med-rare because it is at that temperature that the meat is tender enough to compliment what it's complimenting. Rarely do you get a request to cook the steak so much that trying to swallow it ...cardboard comes to mind. Honestly, I didn't eat the steak and had to leave it that's how dry it was. The shredded lettuce was not fresh, the spring rolls were burnt and too dry and the vermicelli noodles....well what can I say...the person who prepared the dish didn't even bother separating the noodles and just kind of took it out of the fridge plopped it with a ladle onto the container...and off she goes..... The bean sprouts....well...they were bean sprouts. With this dish anyway...it just needs some more care and attention in preparation and a few tweaks, but to have to pay 14 dollars for that meal with that level of quality is frankly angering. read more
