I really wanted to like this place because I love Asian food. I got the "BUN CHA GIO THIT NUONG" with steak in a to-go order. When I got home and saw the packaging It was very neatly packaged and the amount of food was plenty....like you could share it possibly with another person if your'e both not that hungry but could eat. The steak was extremely tough, dry and overcooked. When someone orders steak as an addition to whatever....salad, noodles, rice etc....the odds are they want it med-rare because it is at that temperature that the meat is tender enough to compliment what it's complimenting. Rarely do you get a request to cook the steak so much that trying to swallow it ...cardboard comes to mind. Honestly, I didn't eat the steak and had to leave it that's how dry it was. The shredded lettuce was not fresh, the spring rolls were burnt and too dry and the vermicelli noodles....well what can I say...the person who prepared the dish didn't even bother separating the noodles and just kind of took it out of the fridge plopped it with a ladle onto the container...and off she goes..... The bean sprouts....well...they were bean sprouts. With this dish anyway...it just needs some more care and attention in preparation and a few tweaks, but to have to pay 14 dollars for that meal with that level of quality is frankly angering. read more

I really did like this restaurant and it's close to my house. But this will be the last time I visit this restaurant. We have had issues in the past but on a rainy day we wanted pho. And the food is very good. And I thought we should give them another chance . The lady pictured was extremely rude to me and the family that came in after me. Yelling about closing the door because of the rain. I was there to pick up a to go order and this lady would not acknowledge us standing at the counter. I finally get helped by another employee. I am sitting at an open table waiting for my food to be done. And this lady, brings her employee meal over to the table I am sitting at and tells me I need to move so she can eat her meal. There were at least 5 open tables in the restaurant. What kind of customer service to force your patrons to move for the employees to eat? read more

Then COVID came & they shut down But GREAT NEWS LA- they just reopened a fab new fresh, clean space with a big outside area and the food is better than ever. We shared a F. Banh Xeo starter- it's big enough- and the crispy pancake & mix of surf n turf, Vietnamese style, is delicious. The homemade sauces and fresh crispy salad garnish's are not just for decoration. Eat it all! For my main I took chef's advice and had the Fish Pho- wow.. So much delicious, perfectly cooked, fish in the tastiest broth. Just the right proportions of other fresh ingredients & tastes. I can see why this is River's fav place and I will now be joining them regularly for my bowl of healthy, vitamin & mineral packed, Pho. My friend and I were visiting the Hollywood area and were craving a warm, comforting bowl of pho late at night. Le Pho was one of the few places open past 9 so we headed there. This restaurant is relatively newly opened, so right now there is not much of an ambience indoors. The indoor seating is a bit sparse, though there is a nice outdoor area. I ordered the vegetarian pho. When I received my dish, I was immediately impressed by the amount and variety of vegetables included. The broth was wonderful- hot and savory. I added some sriracha on top for some extra kick. The serving of noodles in the soup was generous. Towards the end of my meal I felt like my stomach was going to explode, but I couldn't help myself from clearing out the dish. The customer service was also wonderful. Roland made us feel like family and gave us some complimentary sweets along with the bill. I'll definitely be making another visit next time I'm in SoCal! read more

Where do I begin.... They have wonderful tea and unfortunately, that's about it. The place is super cold--the draft from the door is absolutely unbearable (and we are from up north-so we are used to cold) We called in advance (10 min before arriving) to ask about some menu items that miraculously were not part of the menu (even though a person on the phone said that these items are available). The chicken shrimp rolls were the worst I had in my life. Followed by the blandest broth that my party shared with me. Now, we are from out of town and if LA crowd likes the blandest food (have I mentioned that the amount of noodles in the soup is very suiting for someone who is on carb restricted diet), more power to them. Aside from Nong La on Sawtelle, I don't think I have had any other pho in LA. Le Pho is in my area in WeHo and the sign always intrigued me, so I was really excited to see how it tasted. Le Pho was really satisfying. The fixings and meat was cooked very well - loved the filet and the meatball tasted excellent. One downfall to this Le Pho bowl was its broth. The broth was a bit flat, lacking any zest or pop to really stand out. Not like I didn't slurp every bit of it, but the seasoning and flavors aren't its most staggering quality. Additionally, the inside is a bit bizarre. There really isn't any life in the restaurant itself, with cleaning supplies, sinks, and dishes that should be covered by curtains or shelves, is out wide in the open for others to see. Overall, I really did enjoy meal for the most part. A hearty bowl of noodles that hit the spot on an overcast LA day is hard to beat, and Le Pho came through. read more

I didn't expect authentic in Weho however, it wasn't even remotely close. Vietnamese coffee is espresso coffee which condensed milk. My Vietnamese coffee was watered down and all the sauces were super bland. Most of the West Hollywood "vietnamese," are apparently owned by Thai ownership. I'm Vietnamese American and am a bit offended for the complete lack of authenticity. Though the pho somewhat passed I will not be returning. The service saves the restaurant. One of the best pho restaurants in LA. All the food is so good, even the fried rice! Had the brisket pho, egg rolls, combination fried rice, and vermicelli. They have a homemade hot sauce and fish sauce available as well. I hope this place continues to thrive so I can satisfy my pho cravings. The only constructive criticism would be to spruce up the ambiance a little bit. It feels a bit like a cafeteria rather than a restaurant. A bit plain in terms of aesthetic. We found this place while in town for the weekend. It was late and saw that they open until 10:30 and they had 4.5 stars. DO NOT COME TO PLACE!! The rating is a lie. We've had great Vietnamese food, we had good Vietnamese food. This place is FAKE Vietnamese food. First, the service was BAD. Took half an hour yo seat us and get our drinks. Had to remind the guy to give us our tea. Second the service was lacking. No one checked on us. There were only one server and he was lost and didn't seem like he knew what he was doing. Third and most important, the food was NOT good. We ordered a lemongrass chicken rice plate and it so BLAND. No sauce and dry. I thought it would be like a traditional rice plate but it was so small and again bland! We ordered the brisket beef noodle soup and the broth was like water. Disappointing. I've ordered delivery twice now. The first time was more impressive than today. I could not tell if the egg rolls were made with rice paper or egg roll paper but they were super thin, like Thai egg rolls. Google what it should look like. Authentic Viet egg rolls are made with rice paper and stuffed full of goodness. It is pure laziness to butcher our egg rolls in such a manner. I am Vietnamese, and I feel my food was culturally appropriated to embarrass my heritage. Look at the reviews and ignore the white faces because they don't know better. Look at the low ratings. It's from people like me. As for the Pho, the meat was chewy and not tender like it was the first time I ordered it. Broth was flavorless and missing what makes Pho so special. Also, how can you charge like $14 to $16 for Pho Tai and not include garnishes like lime, bean sprouts, basil, and jalapeño? Hoisin sauce was not even included. You did not even include grated carrots to go with the lettuce that goes with the egg rolls. Very upset and will be calling GrubHub to request a refund. Also will be calling the restaurant to ask if excluding the garnishes was typical or an oversight. And will be double checking my GrubHub history to verify I ordered from here before. read more
