We didn't have a reservation but we walked in at around 6 pm on a weekday with no problem. They were fast to take our order and fast to deliver our order as well which is great! - Mongolian Style Grilled Beef - But like why was this genuinely so good? The beef was incredibly tender and flavor with the cumin spices and went very well with the rice. I did wish the onions were tenderized just a bit more but they worked very well to counteract the meaty flavors of the beef. This dish made me so happy as it felt like I was eating authentic Chinese cuisine. - Lamb Skewers - Could skip. Although the lamb was good, I felt like there wasn't enough meat on each stick. - Dough Drop Soup - I thought this would be more similar to tomato and egg soup but it was definitely a thicker consistency with way more flavors which was very cool. They store your overcoats in large plastic bags by your table so they don't get slated on. This meal does get sloppy. Most times it was great, but sometimes they were a bit heavy handed. My dad ordered everything so I have literally no idea what we ordered, but I took pictures of the highlights. Decided to try this place to see how it was and if it was worth the hype. After ordering, the workers brought out the hot pot broth within 30 seconds and turned on the burner so the hot pot starts to boil. 2. Hot pot with various ingredients along with beef skewers and enoki mushrooms wrapped in pork belly skewers were ordered. Hot pot ingredients were sliced beef, enoki mushrooms, bok choy, fish cakes, and Chinese glass noodles. Everything was fresh and couldn't have asked for better ingredients. 3. Le Sia is a good place for friend gatherings as most of their dishes are meant for sharing and you can get more variety of food this way (for example, when you order skewers). Crab Pot ($49.95): a dish made with blue crabs, shrimp, chicken feet, potato, rice cake, and tofu soaked in a spicy and savory sauce, kinda like a drier version of cajun boil and hot pot. This dish is very flavorful and has a generous amount of crabs and shrimp. However, the crabs are not very meaty and they didn't provide crab crackers, so it was really hard to get complete pieces of crab meat. I feel like I was always chewing some shells. Also, it's a bit lack of veggies to my taste - plus, it's quite oily. Be aware if you are not good with spice, this is like a medium spicy dish. $49.95 is a bit overpriced. We also got various skewers: beef skewers (4 for $7.95), Lamb skewers (4 for $7.95), chicken wings (2 for $8), chicken gizzard (4 for $8), beef tendon (4 for $10), and garlic oyster (1 for $9.5). I would highly recommend the oyster. It was big, juicy, and savory. I especially like the minced garlic on top. The beef, lamb, and chicken wings are also worth trying - all standard Chinese BBQ flavors you could imagine but still tasty. Avoid the beef tendon! It was quite plain even with the heavy spice dust. The spices are all on the outside but the tendon itself does not have any flavors and it's kinda hard to chew. I think their skewers are fairly priced. The staff was decently friendly and the service speed was normal. Holy shit did I have an awesome dinner at Le Sia. They have a winter special currently for hot pot, and what better combination than comfy hotpot and super seasoned skewers. I gotta say, very grateful for our waiter for saving us from ourselves when we were ordering otherwise we would have had to be airlifted home. That being said we got duck heads as always, some gizzards, chives, pork wrapped enokis, livers, and for hot pot some lamb and duck blood. DELICIOUS. NUTRITIOUS. Just go. There is no consistency in the quality of the food. When it's good and you get what you have paid for it is excellent. When they decide to serve spoiled overly salted food, it is disgusting. They are horrible at following instructions, I requested 4 dishes and specifically asked for them to be packed in separate bags, they consolidated the crab boil into 2 bags. Giant sizes, but too much chili pepper. The Garlic Eggplant was fine if you really need fiber, but again, suffered from too much pepper. The bad: Lamb Skewers. Disappointing, since this place is clearly influenced by Northern Chinese cuisine and nothing defines that style more than food on sticks. Esp. lamb foods. But these pieces, while well-cooked, were over-cumined and under-salted. I love cumin as much as the next Asian, but it's a demanding, high-maintenance spice that tends to overwhelm every other flavor. There needed to be something else to balance it out. The crawfish and shrimp hot pot taste delicious in the mala sauce, and you can also choose to add veggies to the dish which I would recommend! They also give you an apron and gloves to eat, which makes it a very fun experience. Great Chinese food in Hell's Kitchen! Came here as a group of 5 on a Friday evening around 7pm with no reservations, and no expectations. Of course, when we put our names down they said they didn't have an opening until 10pm. So we decided just to do takeout. Everyone at the table got a bowl of sesame sauce for dipping the hotpot items, which was a generous portion (I didn't finish it and I am a sauce fiend!). The sauce was SO GOOD. When they brought out the sauce they also brought out a tray of garnish for the sauce to help yourselves, including scallions and chopped garlic and chili sauce. We were in the mood for skewers and this was one of the places that served skewers before 5 pm at a reasonable price. We were not disappointed! We ordered: -Lamb Skewers ($7.95 for 4): great value, tasted amazing, alternating fatty with leaner cuts so it was flavorful but not too indulgent. They use a cumin, chili glaze but not too overpowering - you can ask for mild, medium or spicy -Pork Belly wrapping enoki mushrooms ($7.50 for 2): same cumin chili glaze. I thought the emokis were a bit plain and overpowered the flavorful pork, good texture though and nice to have some veggies -Clams with Garlic Sauce ($16.99) generous portion, tasted amazing, lots and lots of garlic the way i like it.
