Excellent Thai food at a reasonable price We stopped by Wondee Siam in Manhattan for several times in 2025. On each visit the food was consistently excellent - flavorful, fresh, and well-presented. We hope to return next time we are in the area. Food ordered Tom Kha Gai (Coconut milk Soup with Chicken) - excellent! Papaya Salad - refreshing Thai Salad - very plain; unmixed vegetables, passable. Red Curry with Chicken - delicious! Pad Thai - excellent Pad Woon Sen (Glass Noodles with Beef) - tasted delicious, with a sauce that added an interesting touch. The beef was a little chewy though. Beef with Cashew Nuts and Vegetables - very fresh, but could use a bit more spices for richer flavor. Chives Pancakes - a bit too oily and overly fried on the outside, yet slightly undercooked inside. Duck Panang Curry - perfect. Richer in flavor than the Red Curry, with tender and juicy duck having a crispy crust. The dish was loaded with pineapple, making it slightly on the sweeter side. Pad See Ew with Chicken - excellent. Wondee Siam is a busy Thai storefront with music that was unfortunately just loud enough to notice the entire meal and wonder if someone could turn it down a touch. The menu is extensive, but has photos to help you choose a meal if you are unfamiliar with any option. Expect basic Thai offerings with ado is on presentation for each dish. read more

Check your receipt!!!!! Came for dinner and when it was time to pay the bill, the waitress comes over with the credit card machine but doesn't give me a bill and just takes my credit card and says it is auto 20% tip (I came with a group of 5 people). She hands me the machine and it's at the signature stage already. After I ask for a receipt just so I could make sure everything is correct and that is when I see the workers taking time to enter stuff into the credit card machine and she comes back over with the receipt with a total of $279.14 and the tip is 24% instead of the 20% that she said. I tell them and they end up correcting the bill and keep claiming they don't know what happened but it is clear they entered in their own tip!! They ended up charging me $269.14 which is the correct total after 20% tip. I just checked now to see what the original charge was for and it was $322.97!!! So they actually originally charged me $322.97, then made a receipt saying that it was for $279 when the total should been $269! They tried to scam me an extra $53!!!! Great flavors and unique dishes. Found it hard to choose what to get as there were a lot of interesting dishes that I wanted to try. Went with the crab fried rice, duck gra pow, shrimp cake and curry puff. I should note I did take out and not dine in, so textually and temperature wise would be different when served inside. Shrimp cake was alright, interesting texture, thought it might have been fish cake. Didn't really taste a lot of shrimp. Curry puff with the sweet tangy sauce was one of my favorites. Great potato flavor. Crab fried rice was ok, it didn't stand out to me much, and the crab meat was a bit dense/chewy. I had a crab shell in mine as well, it's bound to happen when eating crab. Duck gra pow was another favorite of mine. Flavor wise it was pretty good! Very saucy, a bit on the salty side which I like. The duck meat was a bit hard, maybe a tad bit overcooked, but I still found it really enjoyable. Inside has a number of seating, a bit on the darker side with lighting. Staff was super friendly. Just know medium spice is a little spicier than usual. The Thai tea was really good and not like other places. I liked how we came in during lunch hour and they had specials going in. While in town for the day I came in for a late lunch. The staff were all nice but especially Emmy our waitress. She was polite, knowledgeable and helpful on suggestions. This is one of my top 3 Thai places in Hell's Kitchen! I really like their food and service. The servers are very quick and friendly. They give great recommendations and are very knowledgeable about the menu. The vibe is minimal, bright and clean. There isn't any music in the background so it's easy to chat with your party. However, I wish they had a full liquor license because they only server beer, wine and sake based cocktails for alcoholic beverages. Their bottles of wine aren't too expensive so I often buy them by the bottle. There are no reservations unless you are a party of 6 or larger, but I usually walk in as a group of 4 or less and are able to sit within 10-20 minutes at it's busiest. They do a really good job at the basics like pad thai, pad se-Iew and pad kra prow(spicy). I really like their beef noodle soup because it is very flavorful and has a nice spice kick to it. I also enjoy their khao soy (curry soup with noodles). I think their chef specials with crispy marinated pork are overcooked and very chewy, but not crispy. read more

Relatively busy when we came in but we were seated quickly. The tables are bit tight together but we managed. Sadly I was basic and ordered the pad Thai with shrimp but it was delicious and the meal really hit. It was flavorful, warm, and nicely presented. Loved this place! The Thai food was so delicious and we asked for it extra spicy. WOW. They certainly fulfilled that request. The garlic prawns were my favorite dish by far. They were so good. I would have eaten 4 plates of them, easy. Papaya salad was authentic and spicy! My part was mostly Thai, so I took their word for it. They ordered all the best dishes and were also impressed. The whole fish was crispy and fresh and also a table favorite. The inside is spacious enough for an NYC eatery and the location is good. I was excited to try Thai Food, and heard Wondee Siam was the place to go! We came here with no reservation, but were able to organize a table for seven in ten minutes. The place is decently sized with lots of seating. Our server was great and helped us with our large order and pick out top dishes. We got a variety and they all came out quick! My favorites were the Pad Thai noodles and steamed veggies. Their papaya salad was also good, and Tom Yum tangy without it overpowering anything. The pineapple fried rice was also great and simple. The Pla Rad Prig fish was great, but slightly too saucey, I would maybe try another type. I couldn't find the catfish in the catfish salad, was it fried underneath? The food here is pretty good. I had a pork dish with string beans, and the pork was a bit chewy and the string beans were a bit undercooked, but it was still tasty. I also tried some of the minced pork which was much better. I will say both dishes had a pepper to signify 'spicy', and the minced pork had a tiny bit of spice, but the pork with the string beans had no spice whatsoever. My biggest complaint here is the service/billing. Our server wasn't the most enthusiastic about anything, and didn't really check on us the entire meal. And then when our bill came, two of the three dishes were $1 more than what was listed on the menu. $2 isn't the end of the world but that's an extremely shady practice. read more

The broth was very flavorful but the vegetables were from a bag and not fresh. Nothing says Industrial vegetables like crinkle cut carrots. With all the wonderful produce at this time of year why use such an inferior ingrediant. The tofu had an unpleasant after taste also. read more

Hell's Kitchen has a lot of Thai restaurants, but Wondee Siam is one of my preferred options. They have a wide menu with lots of entrees and I tried their Crabmeat Fried Rice which had so much lump crab meat and a generous portion of rice. I only wish it was a bit saltier, but I've tried other dishes here before which have always been super flavorful, so maybe today, there was just a different chef or a dash of more salt missing. It was still good though! The appetizer I had was the Fried Chicken which is basically chicken wings but it was still really crispy and served with a sweet chili sauce. The servers refilled our waters often and checked in on how the food was. When the bill came out, they almost accidentally charged us for an extra drink, but we let them know and they apologized! The tip on the tablet starts at 20% which I think is a little high. Most places still keep tip between 15-18% as the minimum, so I wish they changed the options. The inside is spacious and for a Saturday evening, it got packed quite fast. There is also just one bathroom, but it's really clean! read more

Pad thai: 10/10 (great pad thai. Noodles were cooked well and def weren't overcooked, which I find to be the case in a lot of other places. Came by with a friend for a weekend lunch on a whim since we were in the area - we saw pretty good reviews online and there wasn't a queue, so we decided to give it a try. (I've walked by a few times before and it seems they can be pretty busy at peak hours, so we probably got lucky). I liked the clean and refined interior decor throughout - the place was fairly large, but they did manage to fit Quite a lot of tables, so it was a little bit squished between our table and our neighbours. Random observation was also that this was one of the few Thai restaurants I've been to in NYC with lots of Thai-speaking clientele, which is always a good sign! haha My friend and I ordered the catfish salad and the pad kaprow (minced pork with basil). Catfish salad was SO good. I was not expecting the catfish to come out in that ... shape? or texture?? but it was a pleasant surprise. The salty fish paired really well with the mango, lime juice, and fish sauce flavours. Minced pork was a little bit more meh. It was good, but not great - I didn't really feel that the natural aromas of the basil or the savouriness of the pork really came through, and I wish it had been spicier (!). Price point was fine.. but I think it was a little pricey for the portion sizes (and the bowl of rice was disproportionately small lol). In any case, still a great experience overall and it seems that they have so many more delicious dishes to try next time! I'll definitely try to come back soon read more

By 5:30PM there was a line in the foyer, so come early! The restaurant is somewhat small but elegant appearing. Menu is pretty large and they are quick to take your order and bring out food. I had the key mao noodles (drunken noodles) and the khao soi. As someone who has visited Thailand, I felt that the key mao noodles were some of the best in the world. They really know their way around fried noodles. The Khao Soi was a bit disappointing which I should have known that Northern Thai cuisine was not their specialty but I was craving it anyways. Little wait to be seated without reservations on a Monday night. We got some apps and I liked the papaya salad. Chicken satay was ok. I am not biggest fan of chicken satay in general. I got the steamed whole fish, Branzino. It was in a lemon type dressing but I also noted some garlic in it as well. I am sure if it came with garlic as I had asked the waitress if I can have the garlic vs lemon and she said it would taste better with lemon. Alas, it arrived with lemon and garlic. So not sure if fish was made with my personalization. Eitherway it was very delish and came out super fast. We laughed because normally steam fish would take a while to prepare. My friends ordered the chicken basil dish and I was well on my way eating my fish before their chicken even came out. Like it was took a ridiculous amount of time for their chicken to come out vs my whole steamed fish. I massacred that fish tho. The only negatives were crowded tables and super high acoustics volume. It was disturbing. Thai food is my favorite ethnic cuisine, and I've eaten at many Thai restaurants, but this by far is the best one I have tried. But the vibes here were so authentic, and homey. The food is packed with flavor. The crispy basil pork is a must!!! Can definitely tell they made this in house instead of using store bought powders as I'm quite familiar with the tastes. - Yum Woon Sen ($18): I really liked this dish especially because this tastes really close to what I had in Thailand. Just the right amount of citrus, spice, and flavor! We got this in medium spicy and it was a decent heat for us so maybe we'll get mild next time. Despite the heat, I still couldn't stop eating it. I absolutely love this place. They literally can do no wrong. Service is phenomenal & food is phenomenal. The ladies who work here are super warm and efficient. You put your name down on a piece of paper with your party size and they'll call your name. Don't be deterred by the list of names, they're pretty quick with turning parties around in their decent sized space. One of the better thai restaurants I've been to in NYC. I lived in Thailand for a bit and the food here definitely rivals what I'd find in Thailand. Overall, the space is incredibly clean. I like how it's bright and inviting and noticeable from the outside. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgable and recommended some great dishes. The food came out pretty quick and packed with flavor. For NYC, the portions are slightly above average. The dishes also don't leave you feeling super heavy. I loved how light the salads were and the sauce on the minced chicken was so delicious. I came with a party of 4 on a Saturday and the wait time was 15 minutes. Interior is beautiful a bit cramped with the workers busing the tables but that's to be expected in NY. I ordered the chicken satay and soft-shell crab with chili oil sauce. I regret getting the satay, pretty unremarkable I expected better flavors. However, the soft-shell crab was amazing, crispy, spicy, slightly sweet. I thought it was BYOB but they received a liquor license. We ended up getting drinks since the prices were very reasonable. Th white sangria was a nice fruity sweet drink, and I love the fruit bits, a bit heavy on the ice though. It is a very busy restaurant so can't really take your time, felt like I was being rush out. I didn't realize that Wondee was such an establishment! If you're looking for legit Thai food in a spacious and comfy setting, look no further! Our entire meal was a hit, from the simple stir fried morning glory all the way to the decadent crispy branzino. The pad Thai is not like your typical pad Thai takeout (although count yourself blessed if you live close enough for this to be your pad Thai takeout!). The papaya salad is to live for- these were perfectly crunchy and savory, not overdressed and soggy. The kua kling (one of my favorite southern thai dishes) here is not scorch your mouth spicy, which is much appreciated. And try the longyan tea!
