The food here blew me away! Every single thing I ordered was amazing!! Their salt and pepper pork chop and shrimp were perfectly seasoned and had a great crunch. The best I've had dare I say. The beef chow fun was on point and had so much flavor. However, the star of the show is their spicy fish with its unique taste and light, airy batter. It was addicting and I could not stop eating it. The service here was pretty slow, however i think it's because they were severely understaffed. Our waiter took a little over 20 minutes to come take our drink orders, and maintained that pace throughout our meal. The food was ok, nothing to rave about. We got takeaway from Lee Cafe after spotting it during a trip to the grocery store. We ordered beef with broccoli and sweet and sour chicken. My husband had the fried rice and I did the steamed. We both got egg rolls and a side of wonton soup. The egg rolls are smaller than I'm used to, but the perfect amount to enjoy. The soup was so flavorful! And the S&S sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy. Honestly don't have a single complaint. read more

Hands down best Chinese I've gotten in the Carolinas. Grew up right outside NYC and had plenty of great authentic Chinese, but this place is in another dimension. Great atmosphere, cool little place in an unsuspecting strip mall. Next to food lion of course. They have a bar, sushi bar, decent sized dining room and employees were great. Got the Szechuan wontons on recommendation and they were amazing, great amount of spice from the chill oil but very well flavored. Four friends went to Lee's. 2 had sesame chicken, 1 had Mongolian beef and broccoli, and 1 had shrimp with lobster sauce, 3 had spring rolls and 1 wonton soup rounded out the meal. Nothing was good, the chicken was full of gristle, the beef tough and the shrimp and lobster sauce had no flavor. The soup was also tasteless. Our server was rude throughout the experience. We asked for knives she wanted to know how many, she brought 1 and we had to ask for 3 more when the meals arrived; we asked for duck sauce, she grumbled wanting to know how many 'packets' we wanted. She presented checks before 2 in our party were even finished with their meals. Rest assured, we have lived in the area several years so we're familiar with Lee's but it's not good anymore. Don't waste your money. This is not a descent place to have a meal and none in our party will darken Lee's door again. read more

The authentic chinese, szechuan, and Cantonese food here is amazing. The cooks here know what they are doing and I'm glad I found this spot. Based on feedback from coworkers the standard Chinese American dishes are above average as well , the service is super friendly, fast, and the plates are the perfect size . The prices match the pleasure your tummy will recieve with every bite and it's more than enough to share . Try the salt and pepper porkchops if you are a pork fan. The snowpea tips were scrumptious as well. Our second time visiting the snowpea tips were not in matket so they had the fresh veggie of the day as a substitute . Love a prepared chef! I have been to Lee Cafe every Saturday for the last 3 weeks. I can't say enough about how great it is. I recently moved to Fort Mill from about 10 miles away and needed to find good Chinese Food. Well, here it is. Service has always been amazing even in tough, busy times. It does get busy so expect a short wait. They have a bar area that I've seen people choose just so they can be served. I'm not too educated on Szechuan cuisine but was open to try things. I've had the Spicy Szechuan Wontons, Spicy Szechuan Beef and they were both awesome and full of flavor! The flavors are heavy in chili and chili oil with hints of soy. These are a must have. My family isn't big on meat so I had to order the wontons by myself and OH MAN this is one dish I don't want to share. Next visit I had the spicy chicken in a wok. Served hot, in a wok (duh), and again, full of flavor!!! Just last night, I had the hunan beef which was nicely spiced, colorful with many vegetables and amazing. I couldn't eat it all so I'm looking forward to today's lunch. I highly recommend Lee Cafe and am excited about seeing you next weekend for something new to try!!! read more

This place gives me hope for more places like it. Its not in "Charlotte", but Fort Mill is a stones throw away and it's super easy to get to without any traffic. Definitely worth venturing out of the city limits to experience some authentic Chinese dishes. The do have the americanized dishes on their menu too if that is what you fancy, but it is definitely great to have the options. All the yelp photos helped us tremendously as well as our server, whom patiently recommended dishes once we bombarded her with questions. We over-ordered of course, but that means we had leftovers available for later (and we got to try a lot of things in one sitting). The szchenuan wontons were amazing... (hopefully you are a fan of spicy since this place does have a lot of options with all things pepper on them). The twice cooked pork was awesome as well. Make sure to ask your server about their season items like the veggies and their specials! Overall, it was located in a strip mall but had a ton of tables... seemed like there were a lot of people and some reserved booths for the regulars. The space had either just been remodeled and kept neat and tidy.... almost a 50's soda shop type feel inside. Regardless of the decor, the food definitely was the star... and I had to almost roll myself out the door like Violet Beauregard in the chocolate factory. read more

Amazing lunch specials. Had Sa Cha chicken with egg role and chicken wings. Wow!!! Amazing taste and flavors. Wife had hunan chicken with egg roles and she loved it. The egg fried rice that came as a side was awesome, rice perfectly cooked and not very oily. We no longer eat at this restaurant. Quality kept racing down hill. Sick stomach after last couple dinners. The LAST time I found something in my soup. Don't want to know exactly what it was. Threw everything away. Also, if you check the sanitation grades, they fluctuate WILDLY. I don't risk my or my families's health with a roll of the dice. And they serve sushi!!! NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. Not again. It's a shame. When they were good, they were very good. But they've got bad, it's scary. Certainly NOT worth it!! This was the best Chinese food I'v ever had in my life. Better than PF Changs or a myriad of other places I've tried over the last 30 years. Their spices are on point and their prices are excellent - I honestly have no idea how they do it. We had the steamed wontons, egg rolls, spicy beef sachewan, several sushi rolls and chicken love mein noodles for the kids. Every single plate was top notch! The staff was friendly and accommodating. They gave our kids extra fortune cookies! They made our kids smile. This is now out #1 spot in all of Charlotte and Fort Mill. We will be coming back for sure! read more

Five stars because if you want an American Chinese combo (sesame, general tso, etc) they have great prices and serving sizes. Plus, you can swap out the egg roll for two crab rangoons...so that's great. Fast. Affordable. Yummy. They also have a lot of authentic dishes available if you prefer that. read more

This dish is so good, if you like this then you're a true Sichuan lover. Fish in Hot Chili Oil - the fish is soft, supple and flavorful with plenty of bean spouts. The bean spouts is that tastiness that I ever had because bean spouts are usually so bland. Lee Cafe is an unassuming restaurant located in a strip mall next to a Food Lion off of Highway 21. Whoever said "location, location, location" is key has never been to Lee Cafe. It's simply amazing. In reality there are 2 Lee Cafes. There's the Americanized Chinese food version on the front of the menu. Pretty standard fare. And then there is the authentic Chinese version in the back of the menu. And my oh my is it authentic. When the waitress (who was PHENOMENAL) saw my wife and I perusing the dishes in the back of the menu she brought us a tablet where we could scroll through a TON of "real" dishes (photo and English names for each). When the waitress learned we both spoke Chinese it got real and we started talking about the different dishes. My wife and I picked three dishes for lunch: Seafood and Tofu Claypot, Spicy Fish, and Chinese Water Spinach (kongxincai). The third dish wasn't on the menu but when we talked with the waitress we learned it was in season and available. At her suggestion we also had it prepared the Southern Chinese way. The flavor of each dish was incredible. It felt like we were in Taiwan or Southern China instead of South Carolina. My wife, who was born in Taiwan and grew up in the US, said it reminded her of her father's home cooking. The claypot had flavors I haven't tasted since my last trip to Taiwan in 2011. The spicy fish was epic; just the right flavor and spice. My wife and I didn't talk too much during lunch as we were busy stuffing our mouths. Each bite tasted better than the last. It's pretty rare to find a good Chinese restaurant in the States. I had Lee Cafe bookmarked on Yelp for a year but slept on it until today. I have a lot of time to make up for. Gave this place a try tonight since we are still trying to find a great Chinese restaurant for takeout. We ordered crab rangoons, which were pretty good. A nice balance of crab and cream cheese in the filling. The chicken lo mein was very bland. I didn't taste any flavor in there. The shrimp tempura was also good, not greasy. The egg rolls are very small....almost bite-size. The smallest egg rolls that I've ever seen. The beef and broccoli had a nice flavor, but the broccoli was a bit undercooked. We can looking for sushi, but the sushi chef takes off on Wednesdays. That was my luck:/ Sweet servers none the less! They were very kind and it was a very clean restaurant. Down to the fans and walls! I tend to take a look at these things as it reflect the state of the kitchen. We received the food quickly and it was warm! Pretty good.
