    Vegan Bowl
    Leah Y.

Service was a l slow as there was only one server for a very big section, but for airport food the menu was interesting and delicious, quality of food was good, and everything tasted pretty good. All of our meals came out at really different times and the res was a little tightly packed and hard to move around. Overall food tasted good, but it's still airport food and the service quality was the main reason for the three stars.

I was excited to try Lee's restaurant when I was at Pearson International departures terminal. However, I'm a little disappointed, I thought it may be a bit more elevated Asian cuisine but it seems kinda basic. I mean c'mon I should've known it is airport food... You won't find any Singaporean Slaw like you'll find in his regular restaurant in Toronto. Don't get me wrong, it tasted okay. The tasting platter was ok and the vegan bowl was a good choice as I know I'll be indulging along the rest of my trip. It definitely seems more catered for the Western palate and preferences.

The terminal was a bit hectic when I landed and given I had ample time, I opted for a sit down vibe. There was a bit of a wait when I got in and was seated at the bar. Service was overwhelmed but nice to everyone. I ordered the shrimp wonton udon that came with pieces of beef (which I could have done without). The beef and broth didn't have much flavor, but the wontons were flavorful and cooked perfectly. It's fine for a bite if you have some time. Note it is on the pricer side of options since it's a sit down.

Sitting ambience is ok, there's not enough AC inside. There's a bar on the side and steam dim sum is near the front entrance. Cooking is from the back kitchen which the food came out a bit slow. Service was nice. Our server Bryan was friendly and thoughtful. He gave us bowls and plates for food sharing without us prompting. He deserved 4 star. The food on the other hand was at best 3 star, which drags down the overall rating. The won ton udon soup had a bit of bacon to add in the flavor to the broth, which is good, but the won ton couldn't hold itself firmly and was easily broken apart. The beef slices were just dumped into the broth without breaking them up. The seafood red curry had a lot of vegetables which I like, but on the other hand, I didn't pay 26 CAD just for veggie. The rice was weird, it looked normal but tasted like broken rice. Friend said that was over night rice. Definitely not the best Asian food I had.

While my food looked good it was under seasoned. Service was unfortunately terrible, I'm sure they may be short staffed but it was one of the worst services I've experienced in a long time. The waiter essentially threw the menu at me and never made rounds to check in to make sure the food was okay. The menu online was outdated so I was very disappointed to see some items I wanted to try gone. Not comparable to Lee downtown at all.

    Beef udon noodles

The noodle was great. It had fresh bok choy seaweed and fresh carrots. I would comeback if ever I will have a chance and order it again. It's a full service so just seat and the servers will come to you. The it may be still early in the day so it quite.

We came on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty busy but we got sat right away. There was a little bit of a wait for the server to come to our table. The server was nice, took our order and brought our food. The restaurant is casual/nicer than many in the terminal. The strawberry lemonade was delish - 10/10. Not too sweet and refreshing The Pad Thai - not bad but not really great. It felt expensive for what it was. ($28 with the chicken added). I would get a different meal next time. As we were leaving there was a long line of people waiting to get in!

    Mango salad with chicken satay

I came here during a long international flight delay. I got the mango salad which was filling and tasty. I appreciate how the salad was not simply lettuce or spinach leaves. I sat at bar. Service was great and it is a nice option with lively ambience for being inside the airport.

Shrimp dumpling. Great if you like the taste of paper

Food seemed frozen and it kept breaking apart whenever we tried to grab it with our chop sticks. I would not come here. It is simply not worth the price. I would rather eat Trader Joe's frozen food at home. The burger place across was better. This place seems like a soul-less cash grab. You would think the iron chef would care more about his name. Also why the hell was there no chili oil.

    Pad Thai
    Courtney P.

Came here for dinner. Got the pad Thai with chicken. It was flavorful but the chicken wasn't the best. It was a nice variety though.

Steamed shrimp dumplings: phenomenal shrimp in a rubbery wrap. The shrimp was good enough to carry the dish, which only cost $10 Canadian.

My wife didn't want Asian food, but the presence of some non-Asian items on the menu swayed her. She got the teriyaki grilled chicken sandwich, which looked bigger when it came out 5 minutes after we ordered. The bun may have been steamed...it "deflated" after we picked it up. Not bad, but not full of flavor, either. It came with a very mild "spicy" mayo that helped. The fries were thick and had a nice crisp to the exterior. Good stuff. The shrimp dumplings each had one massive shrimp, with a rubbery wrapper around it. The wrapper gets rubbery when it's steamed, cooled, then reheated. It's inevitable that this sort of thing happens at an airport restaurant: people have planes to catch, after all. Soaking it in soy sauce, however, helped. But, the unfortunate thing is that they have those steamers going, which seems cool at first...until you realize the heat from the steamers is heating up the restaurant. I thought the A/C was failing, but it was those damn steamers. Not cool...literally. The food here isn't straight from the streets of Hong Kong, but it's not bad. The prices are also "airport reasonable": this food with 2 drinks cost about $60 US with a tip. We ate at the bar, and service was good. My wife didn't like the Moscow Mule, which was basically a copper mug of ginger beer, and the bartender happily replaced it with a strong mimosa. The overall experience was good enough that we'll be back if we're in this terminal at YYZ again. But, we'll look for a seat as far from those steamers as possible.

    Classic breakfast
    Rachel L.

I don't know why Susur Lee is associated with this airport restaurant... I came here around 7am for breakfast. I was told they don't serve dim sum until 10am. I had a classic breakfast ($18) which tasted worse than those complimentary breakfast at hotels. The eggs were dry and no flavour. The sausages were soft and also dry. The fries were average and the only thing I actually ate.

    Vegetable Legumes
    Michelle B.

The menu is varied. Prices are typical of airport restaurants. enjoyed the French accent of my server who was pleasant and attentive. After sitting down, I checked in and saw the low scores. Well, I ordered the vegetable legumes in a bowl. Although it liked good, it lacked any seasoning and had no flavor. Other than being a hot bowl of veggies, there was not much there. Okay, lesson learned the hard way. I needed something to eat and took a chance after perusing the other options in Terminal 1 (E gates). My advicce, don't make the and mistake that I did. Although your selections in Terminal 1 @ the E gates is limited, try something else.

We were sat in the 'C' dining area area. There were room upon room so there's plenty of seating. Each room with a slightly different theme. Ours had a wall of beautiful fish tanks. The dining area, food stations and bathrooms were all very clean, which is so important at a buffet. They even have gloves at the end of each station in case you didn't want to touch the serving utensils with your bare hands. The variety of food goes from everything you can imagine at a Chinese buffet like sushi and fried rice to American options like burgers and fries, to surprises in-between like New England clam chowder and prime rib. Tons of dessert- hard ice cream, cakes, pies, fruit, jello, even Crème brûlée and waffles. One of my favorite surprises was the variety of mocktails. Most places offer me pop as a mocktail or a Shirley Temple at best. Decent pricing. Father's Day special dinner menu was $50/pp (Canadian) about $36/pp (American) which is pretty great for all you get and that's WITH their high tax. I believe the refular pricing is about $10/pp less. A must try only 30 minutes from Western NY.

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. If you signaled for assistance, they will come. Once ordered thought, the food came out in about 5 mins and all the dishes were ready soon after. Tea is refilled on request, just ask. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. Usually also get a bowl of seaweed soup with your order (per person) though this time around we didn't get any. We ordered a lot for dinner. For appetizers, we ordered the braised pork pan-fried buns, which were amazing. The bun was really fluffy, and the filling was flavourful and just the right amount of juicy. We also had chive pork dumplings. These were also good, though I admit I prefer the pan-fried ones. In particular, our dumplings came out kind of gummy. We had some scallion pancakes which were nice and crispy, and very flavourful. Then, some dried beancurd sticks that were just the right amount of spiciness. Do keep in mind the beancurd sticks are cold (it surprised me the first time I had it). Finally, we had some honey garlic chicken wings. They fry their chicken wings really well, and they don't overdo the sauce which is great. We did have trouble fitting all of this on the table since we ordered so much. We managed, but just keep this in mind if you like to order a lot of appetizers. We each ordered a main. My boyfriend had the lemongrass chicken with egg on rice, which he enjoyed. I also enjoyed my Taiwanese braised pork. My pork dish was amazing and they cooked the egg really well. I was missing my time in Taiwan so I ordered the Taiwanese Braised Pork and Egg on rice. We also ordered Pumpkin Pie with Red Bean Filling, stir-fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, Juicy Chinese Pork Burger, and their Juicy Cheese Beef Burger. Everything was quite good especially the Chinese Pork Burger. The outer shell was so crispy and the pork meat was so juicy and was seasoned just right. The Taiwanese Braised Pork rice was good but definitely not as good as in Taiwan lol. Also, if coming here, you have to try their signature pan fried buns. That is what they are known for. I was hoping to find something special on the menu. The Peking duck caught my eye at around $70, but then I discovered that almost everything else was extra--lettuce wraps, stir-fried duck meat, fried rice, and soup. By the time you add the extras, the bill is easily another $50 or more, bringing the total to well over $120. We decided to pass, and judging from the dishes we did order, that was probably the right decision. The hot and sour soup had plenty of heat and tang but lacked depth of flavor and was under-seasoned for my taste. Fortunately, we only ordered a small bowl. The deep-fried tofu was bland and forgettable. The stir-fried shrimp was acceptable but nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the sweet and sour pork. I specifically asked the server to make sure the pork was crispy, but it arrived soft and lumpy rather than light and crunchy. Even the complimentary red bean dessert soup was watery and lacked flavor. Our bill came to about $104 for two people. For the quality of the food, I didn't feel it offered good value. Sadly, after several disappointing visits, I don't think we'll be returning.

I've lived in Toronto, Durham, Peel and I can definitely say its been the hardest to find goood late night greasy Chinese food here in the Port Credit end of Mississauga. I'm still on the hunt! Customer service here was great. I called asked a few questions, than went in and grabbed a menu and went back to my car. Called over the phone and ordered she didn't know it was me and asked if i knew where they were located which was nice. So My order was General tao chicken ( we usually get chilli chicken but don't like it dry, prefer the sauced up spicy, so this is the equivalent at some places), chicken balls, chicken fried rice, and chicken wings. The total was about 40$, which is fair and the portions were alot less to what I was used to. The general tao chicken was not even a little bit spicy, even though she said it was so that was disappointing. On top of that the breaded part of the chicken was extremely soggy and the plate was full of soggy over cooked veggies underneath. the chicken wings were fried and greasy tasted great and well seasoned. Just not like what I'd usually get from a Chinese take out place as it just looked different the way it was breaded and fried. The rice was in a really small container w under cooked pieced of chicken that was very slimy and white and the rice was very bland. I had to overkill w soy sauce and bit of red sauce. Lastly the chicken balls of course 80% balls 20% chicken but tasted fine, just nothing special. I mean it was cheap and last minute but i definitely feel like i would not have ordered here if i had known cheap or not. They have alot to improve on or mayb they are better at making other items listed in reviews from others. Not sure how they have 5 stars. but hey to each their own right!
