Not the friendliest nail salon. The lady at the front barely acknowledges you. She did a full no chip set on my nails and another woman did my pedicure. I'm not particularly hard on my nails and they usually last 3-4 weeks before I need a fill. I had to get a fill at 2 weeks. I had made an appointment over the phone. I noticed while I was there that the lady kept taking appointments and overlapping them while doing my nails without writing them down. She also told walk ins that she would take them in 10-[15 minutes. There were only 2 people working and a third joined later to do my pedicure. By the time that I left there were 4 people waiting who all thought that they were next. read more

I have been going to Tran and Tee's shop for many years. They are both very accomplished nail artists. I have a deformed nail from an accident years ago and Tran is able to craft a repair nail that looks perfect every time. They are professional and caring and always make you feel welcome when you walk in the door. I highly recommend them. read more

My review is for DIP powder nails. I had a dip manicure done here about 3 months ago. I should note I have done dip at other salons prior and after this so I am pretty aware of the process and the longevity. My dip from here lasted 3 days! I had half of the fingers either chip or crack 3 days in. Within a week, I had to soak them off and remove because they looked so bad. My dip usually lasts 3-4 weeks, even a regular manicure lasts more than 3 days! The process of applying the dip powders was very different than I've had at other salons, there were only 2 layers of dip, and a uv activated top coat was applied. Usually salons apply at least 5 coats, then file it down and then apply a clear coat.This different process clearly did not provide long lasting nails, and was a waste of money. Like I said, they may be amazing for no chip and regular manicures. When it comes to DIP, go elsewhere. Not worth the money here. read more

So I met the owner and thought my nail salon experience would be like the other 5* reviews here since she did my nails, they came out great. However, I was also busy during the day and booked my appointment at 1:30p; she started on my nails 20 minutes after because she had a walk in before me in which I quote from her "I only take appointments" [If newcomers or people who have made an appt with Tee before know, she has a registry book at the front and it clearly has names and dates written of people who sign in when they arrive. There was literally a name before I signed mine on the sign in page and indicated they were a walk in and not an appointment]. Just like one of the reviews I had seen here, be warned, Tee overlaps her client walk ins with her appointments. While on another note, T is a really great artist, that's why i gave the 3rd star....however, when she is pressed on time and is the only technician there besides the other gentleman there (i couldn't tell if he was her husband or a relative), I experienced being rushed in choosing my design/color with her prior to starting my appointment (1:50p instead of the start time 1:30..) instead of "showing her the photo" that she needed. She proceeded to comment after I had asked her for the pricing of 3 different nail design photos, that I should've already had the design I wanted her to do for me; again, she probably misunderstood me but I reiterated that there were only two photos of the three that I wanted her to "freestyle". She sounded oddly condescending about certain styles and why I called certain nail designs "foil"/"marble" when they were "sea shells/smokey designs" respectively; like HONEY, you are the store owner you are already making yourself look bad by not instead kindly suggesting that these are the designs that they are called instead of coming off rudely? Hence 2 star review for rushing my initial appointment experience and literally coming off hostile. I have her the 3* for the yelp page due to her attention to detail. My background experience having received services from other nail techs i've visited since i've moved to the Lake County area have been nothing but great. I only make reviews on YELP if I know the experience was negative or really great. Lee Nails falls under the really negative experience simply because I felt rushed and Tee was very condescending throughout the appointment which I didn't appreciate. Also, towards the end of my appointment, she had the audacity to take photos of my nails without even asking me or letting me know ahead of time she was going to do this...She angled my hands in a way where I thought she was using that time to make sure the nails were aligned and matching in shape and length before I made my payment. She basically took photos of my nails for her website (as you can see she has many great nail designs posted) without my consent. I'm going to compare the owner/nail tech to the ones I've seen and should've gone to instead of the appointment I made with Tee. I've made comments before on iCare Nails (Mundelein, Il), but ever since I decided to book earlier appointments with Dana and her sister, they've been very attentive with me and caring towards all their clients. I also have to comment on the great services by previous owners, Michelle and her husband that used to work at Nails Now [their other relative owns the store now which I don't visit anymore] (Mundelein, Il). I've also had a great experience under my HS friend's store, Envy Nails in Waukegan who did my nails for me about two years ago. It was always busy but Thuy made the time and effort to be attentive to every one of her customers and even those under the other employees there. I've also had the grand experience of getting my nails done by Vince and Tony (not sure if Tony still works at Beautiful Nails) But clearly, if Im being savage with this review it's really because I should've waited for an opportunity during my week to get my nails done instead by these salons. I've shown my friends pics of my nails and they were great but I've already had nothing but negative things to say about Tee's services/business personality and she could definitely use this review to be less hostile and more understanding towards her clients if they ever want to return instead of the blind eye ones that have given her 5*...thank you for your service anyway, but I will not be returning to your store for future appointments. read more

This place was horrible. First time in here and the worst experience. Within 10 minutes of work, he broke my toe nail and now it's in pain. He only put a clear Coat on and told me I was done already. I'm new-ish to the area. (I've lived around Lake Forest/ Lake Bluff since November of 2016), and I've been on the hunt for a good dip powder nail salon the past few months. In Seattle where I'm originally from there are not a ton of salons that offer it yet, so I was hoping I'd have better luck out here. I first went to a couple salons closer to my house and they either offered it and didn't like doing it( I had one nail tech tell me they hated doing dip nails and preferred doing no chip), or the quality was not great. Surface was uneven, you could see small powder dents in the color. However, I'm super impressed with my dip nail manicure from Lee Nails! I chose white to begin with and the nail tech suggested a white glitter. I'm not much of a glitter person, and I was a little skeptical-- but they turned out really nice! Not gaudy or super glittery at all, just a slight shimmer. Was also super impressed with how clean the establishment was. I guess the only down side is while they seem to have a lot of dip colors to choose from, there's not a ton of lighter color options as in light pinks, cream whites etc. A lot of fun glitter and dark colors though. Another thing to note is they cannot add tip to their credit card transactions and tips are cash only :( I did not know that so I was not able to tip, but I will know for next time. I did go later on a Thursday afternoon and there was only one other customer there. I did call prior in the day to make an appointment, so I would suggest doing so even though they could have totally accepted a walk in, If you're new to the area and on the hunt like I was, look no further. Went in because I heard it was a good place. The person who glued and filed the nails was a man and from the beginning he was very rough during the filing i honestly thought I was going to start crying and he didn't even trim my cuticles correctly then a lady was going to do the actual paint. I picked a yellow Color there were 3 different shades of yellow but when she opened the bottle it was empty... choose another color only to get a really old sticky and thick color. And the lady just grabbed the yellow and put the empty bottle back on the shelf likeMy nails looked thick but I didn't want to complain I just hoped for the best. When she was done it wasn't terrible but it was definitely not worth the pain and time. When I went to go sit and have them dry the machine you stick your hands in was not good quality and I waited such a long time for my nails to dry only for them to smudge because the very inside was still wet. Do not recommend for anyone wanting to get acrylic. read more

Quality nail shops are rare to find now adays. I was excited to learn that they are newly renovated and under new management. When you walk in the atmosphere of the shop is cute, clean and comfortable. The color selection is updated and you have alot to choose from. The polish is color coorinated so its easier for to pick and compare colors and shades. They are the most up to date nail shops in the area. Not your typical nail shop. They are experts and specialize in designs, acrylics, 3d designs and the dip. Anything new and upcoming in the nail industry they have and can do. Tee is truely and artist and passionate about her work. My personal favorite is the dip. This is a new product and it is in between the acrylics and no chip. It is not harsh on your nails and won't ruin it like the acrylics. It is stronger than the no chip. People who have brittle/thin nails - your prayers are answered. Although their staff is small they really try their best to cater to the customer's needs. I highly reccommend people to call ahead for an appointment to make sure they can get you in. Overall, definitely a salon to call home. You won't be dissappointed. read more

The lady that did my pedicure was great BUT the second half of my visit here was absolutely horrible. The man that did my no chip manicure must do hardcore construction Monday-Friday and nails on the weekend. He had fresh cuts/open sores on his hands and they were soooo rough. He did not wear gloves and the hand massage at the end had me cringing. The table and towel that he was using was insanely dirty. I've never been here before but I came here to get my eyebrows done when my normal salon was too busy. They did a decent job on them. Three stars because once i was done, i pulled out my card and the lady that took it kinda looked at me funny and said, "what, no cash?" I said no and then she rolled her eyes. I understand the cost of processing cards is expensive but if you rather prefer cash maybe put it on the door so clients can see. read more

After walking out of a nearby salon, came upon this purely by accident and what a wonderful find! My daughter got a set with no chip and I got a fill with no chip. I am pretty picky and I have to say I am thrilled with how well they did my nails! They listened to what I like and were very gentle. Very clean salon and super friendly. My daughter loves hers as well and she's pretty hard to please. We highly recommend Lee nails. This is our new salon for sure! read more

I called to schedule an appointment for a full set acrylic. My appointment was at 7 and they said they were running late which was perfectly fine .. but a whole hour passed by and they didn't say anything but kept starring at me . I'm a patient person but that long was too long . Why have me schedule an appointment if that's not the time they were going to attend me. They as well have very slow workers . An employee was just sitting there for about 10 minutes with a client in front of her doing absolutely nothing. Not sure I would come back to these place very poor service . Not going to lie I almost walked out during my service . I had a gentleman giving me a pedicure I had stopped in as it's down the street and I get my nails done on Elk Grove as I'm loyal to them for years but anyways with pedicures I wouldn't mind staying close to home so I gave them a try I did a deluxe lavender something over priced and horrible presentation he opened packages in front of me and threw them in the water was confused but went with it maybe they dissolve ? He then went on to say I needed they extra care gimmick they carry cause my "medicine" is making my bottoms different colors I aware him I had left over spray tan from not covering my bottoms he looks at me and tells me for almost the whole service how I need this my medicine this my medicine that I frankly said I do not take any type of medicine it is spray tan I again am not interested..... he has side comments and finally the service is over he picked the packaging out of the bowl walked me up front I paid didn't tip and said I will never return bye !
