Loved their Vietnamese coffee. I was excited to see that there was one next to the hotel I was staying. Had their coffee everyday I was in town. Inquired about their sandwich and appetizer platter for a celebration of life I was attending. I ordered an appetizer platter which consisted of chicken wings, pork & shrimp eggroll, and pate chaud. I got compliments about the food. The chicken wings were well seasoned even my uncle who is a chef loved it. The egg rolls were thick and tasty. My favorite, pate chaud, was so good. The only concern that I have is we all could not distinguish which was chicken or pork. I pre-ordered the platter and in the morning I asked if I could pick it up an hour early. I recently had a craving for an iced filtered coffee and dropped by for a cup and some freshly fried wings. Both satisfied my snack cravings. This location has a small dining area with a few tables inside and a few outside. There are grab-and-go drinks and snacks, Lee's coffee (cà phê sữa đá) in bottles, and coffee beans in bags for purchase. Not a bad spot to grab a quick bite or drink. Drinks - 4/5 - The classics still hit Food - 4/5 - Wings were hot and tasty. Service - 5/5 - Always kind and quick to get orders through Value - 3/5 - Sad to see all the prices go up so much, yet fairly competitive I'm giving Lee's a recent rating of 4/5 stars, as it has been mostly consistent through the years despite the prices. The Bahn Mi sandwiches are classic items but haven't had one here in a while. The last time I got a breakfast croissant, the quality wasn't great. I may give them and the bahn mi another try in the future. Lastly, I used to be a big fan of Lee's, and it's been a challenge for this business to compete with all the new places. Good location with indoor and outdoor patio seating. Menu has some tasty choices but the Garden Grove Lee's (nicknamed the "big store") has more selections. Egg rolls were solid; crunchy, savory, meaty. The pork puff pastry was unappetizing. There were chunks of pork filler (veins, intestines (?)) that did not grind up and could not be chewed. Craving for banh mi and this was the nearest then going all the way to little Saigon....which I think I should. Lee's has been around for decades and they are not well known for their sandwiches, rather for their coffee and snacks...I haven't try their sandwich for a long long long time, so I thought would give it a try. This location is nice and warm since it's right in the corner of the plaza with their own outdoor seating area. The inside is nice & clean and bright place with glass door/windows surrounded. Nice & friendly worker (non Asian, which is a surprise), the lady is sweet and nice that when I was there I only see her and she did everything from reheat the breads, take orders, make foods & drinks, and pack its. As for the foods, I ordered the special lunch for $11.49 with soda, chip and a smaller sandwich of your choice (bbq pork). Alright, I the bread is dense and heavy, portion of meats & veggies are not even distributed from side to side (which it should be). The meat is just okey...but the pickles are nice and good. Would I try their sandwich again? Most likely not since plenty stores are WAY much better for the same price or cheaper (just have to have into the VNese territory). Must of the customer here are office workers and out of town visitors. But this is just my VNese point of view of one of my weekly must eat food. Ordered here yesterday for lunch because I wanted a sandwich and had a couple for some nuggets. Food was delivered fast and nuggets still hot. Got to say first off the nuggets are some of the best I have ever had and I would say if you like McDonald's nuggets it makes them taste bad. The turkey sandwich, not sure if the bread always tastes like it's one day old and hard they put 4 times the lettuce to turkey ratio. It looked like two slices of Turkey and the American cheese was thicker than the turkey completely overpowering it. The bacon was definitely overcooked but I can look over that one. Most days I work from home thanks to COVID. This is one of the spots Grub Hub offers free delivery from. I've done pick up and delivery with zero issues. I prefer ordering online so I can make changes to my order myself. Sandwiches are good. That is if you know how to order. I usually get the Mister #11 with extra meat and extra Pate and he likes it. Without the extra meat chances are you will not be satisfied. My go to is the Salami and cheese Crossiant or the Teriyaki chicken with bacon and swiss cheese. Not sure why, but the sandwich ingredients just seem not as fresh and vibrant as other lees stores. Maybe this location is just the red headed stepchild of the Lees chain? ‍ The service here is awesome. They are always friendly. They're very attentive and quick to help. With that said. Stick to the iced coffees and the pork and shrimp egg rolls. Those are already made and frozen from headquarters so they're consistently good. It's sandwiched (no pun) between a corporate building and a Hawaiian restaurant, tucked in the back corner of a strip mall off Valley View street. Use your GPS if you can't find it. Parking is limited as well. I agree with others that the portions are skimpy-- but I was offered 'extra meat' for a buck more by the cashier... when they already charge $5 without the up-charge? I forgot how expensive they've become. The only reason they're getting 4 stars is their bread. The hot baguette light was on, and I asked the cashier if I could get my sandwich made with a "fresh" baguette. He took one out of the oven, and the wrapper was still hot when he handed me my #4. First time I've ever experienced this. Also, they put in this huge mint or basil leaf inside the sandwich, was nasty. I removed it.
