I made an appt to have my brakes checked out. Took car in at 8:15am. At 12:15pm, I called to see what they had found, call went straight to voicemail. Around 12:30pm, I called back and was told that the technician had gone home sick at noon. My car was not looked at in the 4 hours except to complete an inspection, that I had asked for. I was told someone might be able to work on my car if I left it, but that they were fully booked for the next two days. I retrieved my car and took it elsewhere. read more

AVOID THIS BUSINESS Made an appointment for known repairs. Showed up for appointment and was told they needed the car all day. They wanted to drive car around "to feel" the car. Of course, there's a charge for that "service." Instead, we asked for specific repairs and they charged for "taking a look" to confirm in addition to cost of repair. They also said they had to run codes, charged to run codes, then quoted a repair that had already been done. The communication from the "front office" to techs is ineffective resulting in wasted time and unnecessary repairs being made and quoted. If your car problem is not cookie cutter, they are not equipped or able to diagnose. Their service is mostly consuming time and charging for it. read more

We had some steering problems on our Lincoln Navigator and Randy knew exactly what the problem was (a faulty u joint, etc) and he is really smart-thinks outside the box and does excellent work! I showed up to an appointment I thought I had there. I was incorrect and had an appointment at another shop. Randy and his staff took total care of me with a smile. Most places would've just sent me on my way. They bent over backwards to get my vehicle taken care of and I was out in less than 20 minutes. Note* I haven't had work done here but stopped in for advice on a used Xterra we recently purchased that has a blown head gasket. As a woman, I'm always nervous about taking my care in for repair. I admittedly know nothing about cars so I feel like I have a "cheat me" sign on my forehead! After reading the reviews here on Yelp, I tried LS Total Auto Care. I couldn't be happier! I had a lot of work done. They talked me through each piece with me so I understood exactly what they intended to do. I needed 4 new tires and they even recommended a brand that included a $70 mail-in rebate! The icing on the cake: they called me the next day to make sure the car was running well, and they said they realized that they hadn't given me credit for a coupon I'd given them. So they were going to cut a check and send it to me! I hadn't even noticed so they missed the coupon, so they could have saved themselves the money! Had my 98' four door lumina towed here after I had a flat tire. I was then told my car needed a new subframe and that another tires treading was ruined! (Even though I just got that tire brand new a month previously). So after I bit the bullet, I told them to go ahead and fix my power steering leak. Not to mention I told them to keep the "bad" brand new tire as a spare in my trunk (not the popped tire that I originally towed it there for). The total came out to above $1,700 and I later found that after they "fixed" my power steering pump, it was still leaking so I wasted a good amount of money on that. Not to mention THEY DIDNT GIVE ME THE GOOD "bad - according to them" TIRE TO KEEP AS A SPARE! Not just that but they charged me for a tire disposal fee for the 2nd tire I wanted to keep for a spare... Need I mention again this was pretty new tire and not the popped tire. When I called to speak to the manager, RANDY I believe, his excuses for disposing of the tire were nonsensical gibberish playing like it was the popped tire. This business is not a place to go to. I payed almost 2 grand for a popped tire and just to get my car back since they deemed it dangerous to drive and lied about a subframe. Not to mention they put in a new power steering pump that didn't even fix the problem and basically ripped me off. DO NOT GO HERE! Save your money and your vehicle! UPDATE: it has been over a year now, and my power steering is still broke (needs fluid every day of the winter). So much for fixing that power steering pump. I seem to never find trustworthy mechanics anywhere. The only trusting mechanic I've EVER been to is Pro Alignment in Belton.. Hoping to find one around here. read more

I've been going here for over 10 years... and I'll never go back. I always try to patronize a business with the hopes that my loyalty will be appreciated, as I did for Lee's Summit Total Auto Care. I've honestly, never felt that my business was sincerely "appreciated", mostly that I was just another customer... but I kept going back because I was familiar with them. I bought a new/used Jeep Wrangler last year. It developed a "noise" that I couldn't necessarily describe. It was more of a rattle that I would hear as I started to accelerate... or... if you will, as the "wheels started to turn". They took it for a drive and said it was a wheel bearing but they weren't sure which side it was coming from. I couldn't afford to pay the $460.00 to have it fixed but I bit the bullet and took it in. I picked it up later that day and was told that they had replaced the hub... mentioning that there was no "wiggle/wobble" in the wheel (a sign of a bad hub)... and that "hopefully that fixed the problem". As soon as I pulled out of the parking lot (at the end of the day on a Saturday), there was the SAME noise! It was still there! I called on Monday and told them the noise was still there. They said bring it back in and we'll take a look. I had to rent a car to get to work that day (another expense) but was hoping they had figured out what had gone wrong in the repair and that this "noise" was finally gone. When I got there to pick-up my Jeep, I was told that they didn't find anything and that I was "hearing things". Needless to say, I was extremely upset that I had spent, at this point, almost $500 to be told I was "hearing things" and yet STILL had this noise that everyone else in the world, except the people at Lee's Summit Total, could hear! After driving around for a few more weeks with the noise, I decided to do a little research on my own and found that this is apparently a common thing with Jeeps, this "rattle", and that it's usually a loose heat shield. So I crawled under my Jeep, myself... did I mention that I'm a 49 year old woman?... and put two $2.00 hose clamps around my exhaust/heat shield. Then I took my Jeep for a spin around town and... yep... you guessed it, the noise was gone! It's been two weeks since I put the clamps on and still no sound. Thanks for bending me over, Lee's Summit Total! Not that you care... but... I won't be back. read more

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! This weekend has been from hell! But, I was provided some grace from God, when out of desparation I contacted Randy at LS Total Auto Care. Not only did they repair my problem, they stayed late 2 days in a row to ensure that my car was back in working order. As a single mom, who works full time, and am a full time student, my car is my life line to being super woman. Randy, Grant, Steve, and others there provided me with quality service, fair and honest pricing (although I was at their mercy, I did price compare what they quoted me and it was better and certified!), and a nice, clean facility to wait. I had my teenage daughter take her 99' Malibu to Lee's Summit Total because it was making noises, the engine light was on and it needed an oil change. I suspected she let the car get too low on oil because it burns oil and it has had many problems. When she took the car in the tech said they would charge $34 for the oil change and $70 to hook it up to a diagnostic machine. Since I am paying for the service I called and asked if they could listen to the car or drive it around the block to see if they heard any of these noises she mentioned. They said no they dont do that. I told the tech to do the oil change and not the diagnostic machine at this time. Since this has been a problem car I knew that we could take the car to O'Reillys and use their diagnostic machine for free to find the engine codes. When my daughter picked up the car the technician, which may have been the owner, said to her, your "mommy" said not to hook up the car to the diagnostic machine and your "mommy" said she would not pay for it to be done. My daughter's friend was with her when they picked up the car and they both left with impression that this person was rude, condescending and had a chip on his shoulder. I am not sure if it was because we didnt spend more money, because I was a woman making the shots on what was to be done, or if he was having a bad day. I will not be going back to this business in the future and will not recommend it to anyone. (Fyi, the engine code was a P0306, cylinder six misfire, thanks O'Reily.) read more
