There are a lot of mixed emotions with this restaurant. I have start off by saying that the food was great, but the service my party received that night was very distasteful. Nonetheless, it was a table that were high profile athletes at the table, and a politician. The night manager was extremely rude, threw the cake on the table, along with the tab, and told us we needed to leave. Not even in Pergola in NYC would have NEVER delivered a service like this. The service was poor, and we were profiled by the manager right away. This will be the last place I come to for ANY festivities or celebrations. Thankful to the company and owners of "The Gym" that recognized who WE WERE, and brought us right upstairs! Bathrooms were filthy, like the service from the manager! Service doesn't match cost, unfortunately. I came in with a rather tame group of 5 for Sunday brunch, and we all agreed the restaurant was beautiful and the food was all delicious. We ordered bottomless drinks, and politely asked ahead of time to make sure that switching out drink choices throughout the meal was fine, and the server assured us that we may. When our drinks were closer to empty, the server was quick to refill with the same drink just to keep things moving along rather than asking. Finally when we got the chance to speak, he seemed annoyed at us wanting a Bellini instead of a mimosa, and especially annoyed as we drank a bit more after dessert. Oh my goodness where do I even begin. So I made a reservation for 730 on a Friday night about 3-4 weeks in advance. We were about 10/15 minutes late but I called ahead to let them know and they said it would be okay. First off there is only valet parking and second the entrance is very confusing the hostess stand is all the way deep inside. Not right when you get into the door. Anyway we were seated in the tent area and right next to the opening. So every time they opened the door a breeze came through. They had heaters but when you're right next to the opening it does not help. There were a few different workers in the tent and no one introduced themselves so I didn't know who was who. One guy asked us for our drinks and another one asked us if we needed anything so I tried to order an appetizer and he did not understand what I was saying at all and just walked away??? Then the guy who asked for our drink order eventually came back and asked if we were ready to order and I confused said I think we ordered already from the other guy. BUT apparently not. Guys when I'm telling you this place has no structure or organization. My friend and I were literally confused. We got the Eggplant Imam $22 for an appetizer Wow it was absolutely impressive and very tasty And it came out so fast Which I thought was setting the mood for the whole dinner So I thought .... 1.5- 2 hours later we are still waiting for our food. Our waiter was coming in and out but not slow enough for us to ask him where our food was, and. Clearly avoiding any eye contact. When we finally caught up to him he said oh I apologize and went to go check. And said oh it'll be out in 5 minutes. Okay so you forgot about our food at least just be honest and say that. If there was frequent check ins and if he was more apologetic I would have been understand if the situation. It is Friday night and it can be busy. Every time we tried to get someones attention they blatantly ignored us. It was crazy. But we were placed in the tent outcasted outside in the cold and not tended to while paying the same as people inside with good treatment. For the entree that eventually came I got the Mushroom Risotto $34 and my friend got the Greek Salad $25 It took us another hour to get the bill. We had to ask him about 3 times. He kept forgetting every time he came back to the outside tent. It was extremely frustrating. To top it all off. I ate less than a quarter of my food because I was just done with the place. I asked for it to get wrapped up. My friend ate most of her besides like a couple of pieces of tomatoes. My god when I got home to eat some left overs they COMBINED HER MOSTLY EATEN SALAD AND MY RISOTTO. So I paid for food I didn't eat because they mixed it with a mostly eaten Greek salad. Please how can anyone have good service here ????? Or why does anyone come here??? This is single handedly the worst service I've ever had in my life. read more

Came here for a friends birthday. Giving 3 stars because initially the reservation was made for 11 people but they seated us at a 10 top table. The waiter said "all the other tables are reserved so sorry". Which is wrong as a service because she had made reservations for 11.. after speaking to the manager, he was able to move us to a bigger table upstairs. 3.5 stars I recently visited Lefkes for brunch with some friends.  We sat in their festively-adorned, enclosed porch, which will all jazzed up for the upcoming holiday season.  The open tables were already covered with the appropriate table settings and waiting for diners, but this resulted in dusty plates and cups, which we needed to report.  The staff was extremely apologetic and quickly rectified the situation.  Aside from that hiccup, the food was enjoyable.  My Greek Omelet contained a comprehensive, Mediterranean blend of Feta cheese, onions, tomatoes, spinach, pepper, and dried oregano.  The omelet was fluffy and well-seasoned.  It was served with a lightly dressed arugula salad and herbed home fries, which actually could have used some spice.  My mug full of Organic Brewed Coffee was a dark, bold compliment to the meal.   I would definitely be interested in returning to Lefkes in warmer months to enjoy their outdoor patio and to try their dinner menu. read more

The saganaki fried cheese bites with cherry was good as well. We asked for bread and they brought us toasted bread with olive oil and oregano. We shared the lamb chops that were 4 to an order. Very delicious. The mini chicken gyros were also very good and tasty. Honestly everything we ordered was very good and tasty. My only issue was the price. These prices are Manhattan prices not New Jersey. I thought for what you are getting it is very expensive. The 3 of us ordered the food pictured and the prices was $300 or $360 with tip. Thanks, Lefkes, for my mom's wonderful birthday meal. She loves seafood and probably spent a good few minutes taking pictures of the raw fish display. Over the years, there's been so many restaurants rotating through this one building and this has been the first time I've actually stepped foot inside. Really liked the comfortable seating (which is a rarity in the city) as well as the obscene amount of space between tables. House bread was good, though the winner was the spicy feta. I ended up just eating it plain, that was how good it was. Lefkes offers this really good pre fixe option of three courses for $24, a total steal. You won't walk away hungry. I went with the Greek salad, the market fish (which was a type of sea bass), and the lemon sorbet. The fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly but my favorite thing on my plate was actually the spinach pilaf, which was so creamy it reminded me of risotto. The baklava was outstanding. The service was wonderful. Our waiter saw how fascinated we were by the raw fish display and came over and explained which ones were in season and showed us the different West Coast/East Coast oysters. Would love to come back. Manager is rude not only to employees but customers as well. He told employee don't ever go in the wine room again which was right next to our table for us to hear. We ordered coffee after having drinks, appetizers, and dinner only to be told by the manager we had to leave in 10 minutes! When explaining we were waiting for coffee he began to get loud saying too bad. We cancelled our coffee order since we would not rush to drink hot coffee in 10 minutes. He said only 2 hours at table and people were waiting. However, other tables were available. Also, couple tables over were there before us were served dessert as we left. Went here for a celebration lunch. It was a nice restaurant and not too crowded on Service: the waiter did a great job filling glasses and clearing plates. Food: everything was good but the only memorable dishes were the bronzino and the cheesecake. The bronzino was fresh and cooked perfectly. And the cheesecake was dense but creamy and the graham cracker crust was very good. A couple of things to note: 1. We went to the restaurant a couple of days in advance to ask them for a corner table so we could have a semi private section and a table where we could all talk. The table they put as at was in the middle of the restaurant and very long so it was difficult to talk to people on the other end (there were only 8 of us). They were also supposed to have champagne ready when we arrived and that was not ready either. Management needs to do a better job of listening to their customers. They did comp us 4 desserts but it did not make up for the seating situation. 2. Some of the food was salty such as the potatoes and the spanakopita was mostly phyllo dough and rather dry. I think using a bit less salt and focusing on improving some of the dishes would really make this place great. Come here for a nice atmosphere, the bronzino, and the cheesecake. read more

We arrived to find easy parking that's free in their lot. We found a huge outdoor area with tables properly spaced apart. The host was very welcoming. The waiter was very friendly. The prix fixe menu offered a great value, my wife had spanakopita, salmon with risotto, and an olive oil cake with risotto for $25. The dessert is chef's choice. We asked what it would be, and the waiter told us the chef changed it as the day goes. So it was a little exciting to wait and see what we would get. I had the burger, it was $18 and absolutely delicious. It was a good size. It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare as ordered. It has a delicious brioche bun. I would definitely get another. We got mushroom risotto for the table my 5 year old ate almost all of it ! We all thought it was cooked perfectly, mushrooms nice and plump. So creamy and the little cheese in the middle, smart addition! My hubs had the lamb chops. He said they were " phenomenal " Dessert we had the filoh dough with vanilla ice cream ( sorry if I butcher that) with cinnamon all Over it was hot and so yummy. Everything came out in perfect time. The service was very good, our waitress was very helpful with letting us know in a little more detail what certain dishes consist of& so on. She was very attentive. I stumbled into this restaurant by chance on a trip back from NYC. What a gem! First, the food quality is difficult to match. My wife and I chose the $34 menu and had to take food back home. Very generous portions. This restaurant has mothing to envy to Avras in Manhattan's E60th street. Their orange cake is definitely better than Avras. And then, add the super service. My server, Zoe, let me taste several of the wines so that I was happy with the glass I wanted with my meal. She knew all the menu items and her recommendations were on point. She timed her appearances precisely by checking in when I needed her and was out of sight when I didn't need her. The other staff were also friendly by checking in and being accommodating. Had the lobster soup special. It was creamy with lump sized lobster meat. Zucchini and eggplant chips with the tzaziki sauce was seasoned just right. Fried to a crisp, but not soggy. The tzaziki sauce was fresh and flavorful. The Greek salad had the lump sized tomatoes. All different colors, very unique. The olives were not firm or tasteless. The block of feta cheese is the way to go. You can choose to break it into pieces as you eat rather than it be all dissolved in the main ingredients and dressing. Had the salmon main entree which was cooked perfectly and paired with the vegetables that had a snap to them. The lamb chops cooked medium-well were grilled to perfection. The potatoes were full bodied with a light crisp on the outside and warm potato inside that broke down easily. Had the dessert, it was the 2nd choice on the menu (forgot the name, "Warm -something-"). It was delicious. Crispy fried on the outside and warm creamy filling on the inside. It was addicting, and it was a nice sized dessert. Their menu consisted of a lot of fresh seafood dishes. If you're into the Greek flavors and into seafood then you should give this place a try. I came here as part of a media mixer event, so I cannot comment on the prices, but as always, all thoughts and opinions are mine and mine alone. This is a great new(-ish) restaurant that opened up about 6 weeks ago. Pretty much the only thing I did not enjoy about my experience was my drive up there (although to be fair, I dislike driving in NJ in general and try to walk whenever possible). I also didn't realize that the parking lot was valet services only because I'm not that fancy of a person. The space is super spacious and clean with a fully stocked bar and an awesome fish display with a variety of different options. For when it's warm outside again, there's a patio for outdoor seating, and they also have an upstairs area that can accomodate private parties of up to 50-60-ish people! I tried a number of different appetizers and while it's difficult to pick favorites, I really liked their moussaka croquettes, a potato/eggplant/mushroom-based dish that's usually prepared more like a lasagna, but these were baked and then fried into croquette balls. They also had a tasty swordfish appetizer and a portobello mushroom dish with pesto + Greek cheese. Service was amazing and very attentive, and we even got to meet the chef behind all the different creations! read more
