This place recently has gone all out with their holiday theming first for Halloween and then Christmas. The Brick bar is right next to the Arrive Hotel. There's a little alleyway between this building and the next that has a parking garage that you can opt to pay if you want to park right next to the bar or you can find street parking. The bar mostly feels like a converted garage with a secret but known upstairs outdoor gin lounge. There are plenty of seating options as well. I got the frozen painkiller which is one of the drinks they are known for. My partner got their frozen margarita which they advertise as being one of the strongest. We also got a whole pizza. The pizza was pretty tasty for bar standards. As I wanted to get the mug to take home I got doubles on the frozen for about 24$. They have singles of the frozen for about $12-14. We came here on a Sunday afternoon so it was very chill and most everyone was just hanging out or starting their Sunday funday here. read more

PROS: this place has the best pizza I've tasted in all of the city. Benjie was AMAZING, always catered to us, made solid drinks, and had the food come out on time. The menu is limited, but it had several things I was craving - sandwiches on pretzel buns and seasoned curly fries. I was going to get the halloumi sandwich until I saw a brunch special with egg and pimento cheese so that's what I went with.Of course I added curly fries. Both were good decisions! Came in during the winter holiday with some friends and we had a great time during happy hour. Noticed it was next to Vixen Wedding which I was super curious about when I looked up Lefty's happy hour deals. Lefty's Brick Bar is a great place to meet up with friends, sit outside and enjoy the elements and drink some tasty snacks and drink some unique cocktails and frozens. We enjoyed sitting in the back area on picnic tables and retro-style lawn chairs. Happy Hour prices are pretty awesome especially their tallboy $3 Montucky beers. You should definitely get some snacks or a sandwich or two to share if you are feeling hungry. $6 for sandwiches and half off their "snacks" is totally worth sharing with your table. Note that you cannot smoke outside even at that back patio. There are signs indicating not to but there is a cool side door you can sneak off and smoke and come back in when you would like. Parking was easy (street parking) and I believe there is a valet service right next door if you can't seem to find a spot within 2-3 blocks of Lefty's. read more

I would have liked to rate this higher because the vibes here are unique. However, someone in management needs to address how rude the bartender is. It felt like I was being inconvenient when I was ordering my drinks, not to mention she would cut me off when I was trying to put my order in. I thought it might have just been a weird interaction. My friend and my boyfriend went to grab the next round and came back mentioning a rude bartender as well. Finally, when I asked for my check I didn't get an itemized receipt (which I wanted to make sure I got charged for happy hour prices and clearly didn't trust her). She snapped at me saying "this is how you pay. You sign. Then you get an itemized receipt." I asked for an itemized receipt again before I signed. She grabbed the card machine from my hands, huffed and puffed and finally showed me what I was getting charged for. Again it's a pity because there was a really nice gentleman who noticed some of my drink spilled and kindly took my glass to pour me more without me even asking. Holy. Moses. The tatertachos. These were a drunk girls dream. Crunchy tots on the bottom, slathered with black beans beans and cheese, then covered with a HEALTHY serving of barbacoa. We came here for a small snack because the wait across the street was so long. We each tried a different cocktail. Super strong drinks, but well-crafted. It didn't taste like I was drinking lighter fluid, but I was sure feeling it after 1/2 of a drink. The seating is so casual and cool and comfy. I'd love to meet a large group of friends here. Mr Tender recommended the fried chicken sandwich, but I only eat grilled, vegetable oil upsets my gut. I waited 30 minutes for my "grilled chicken" sandwich to be nothing but fried chicken and bread. I'm not 18 anymore so every calorie counts and this 2000 calorie incorrect order was not the move. Anyways, the crickets were in attendance and I forgot they were so prominent. The drinks were great and they had a nice selection of beers. The location is in the middle of east Austin which is perfect if you want to bar hop. The space is large with a great atmosphere.
