It's a strong pass for me! So we went on New Year's Eve and got oysters, wings, and spinach dip. 2 of the oysters were burnt but it was super busy and our waiter was very pleasant so we look past it. Fast forward and I went back Saturday to try an entree.....and I should've just kept driving. The place was near empty so I sat at the bar. Service wasn't great at all for an empty place. The smoked salmon dip was just ok but very heavy on the mayo. BEWARE the brussel sprouts come sprinkled with bacon although the menu doesn't say that. And lastly the steak frites were the worst I've had. The steak was cold and I've never had such chewy steak when cooked medium, my jaw started hurting. The fries were literally the best part of the meal. I'll let others have this place because I won't be back.

Neopolitan drink - husband said it taste like an alcoholic banana split.

Went for an early weekday meal. (4ish) Hardly anyone eating at this hour, so it was quiet. Promptly seated and Haydee was our server. Throughout the meal the service ranged from attentive to "just checking." Husband had a Neopolitan ($13) drink from the bar, which he was warned was very sweet, and it was. :) Ordered the deviled egg app ($6); tasty but a touch on the salty side. Surf & Turf ($38) med rare came out perfect, as did the Redfish St Charles ($32), though both were very salty. Between the eggs and our entree, we ordered the smoked chicken wing app ($15) because we were starving and there was a wait while our food was cooked to order. They came out after our entrees, so I tried one - amazing! - and boxed the rest. I say amazing because of the smoky flavor, the skins were cooked and the sauce was on the side. Lemon ice box pie ($10) to go was dessert, and it was delish! Not a 5-star because the MOD came by to check on us, and we told him food was salty. He seemed perplexed and walked off to the next table. We decided if we ever returned - and I don't think we will - we would just have them cook without seasonings.

Really good food in a casual environment. They do steaks really well with great service. Stopped in while doing some shopping in the area. Quiet place but very welcoming. I ordered the crab cakes and the surf and turf. Only a bit of filling in the crab cakes and the steak was cooked perfectly. Also, I could eat those shrimp all night. Not much around so not sure when I'd be back but it's one of the best food options in the area for sure

we were in the Westbank and looking for a place to try and noticed legacy kitchens steak and chop so decided to check it out. we started off with the spinach dip - the dip was good but the chips were amazing! some of the best chips that we've tried in the city. we then got a cheeseburger, seafood platter and mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. the mashed potatoes were decent, the teriyaki sauce on the sprouts was really good, the burger was cooked well and had good flavor, and the seafood had big seafood and plenty of it. overall good flavor and good portion size ambiance of the restaurant was nice and service was good. overall a good experience

6 Oz filet with potatoes and broccoli

Came here for a large group graduation celebration. The restaurant was closed to walk ins due to a staff shortage, but I liked not being in a crowded restaurant. Our server was great! For the life of me, I can't remember her name but she wore dark rimmed glasses so if management is reading this ..she was awesome! There is a Sunday steak special not on the menu but it is listed on their website so you can order it. It's the 6 Oz filet with salad, potatoes and broccoli for under 30 bucks. My steak was cooked well. The broccoli seemed a bit old and wilted. Potatoes were fine. We ordered spinach dip to share but it wasn't great..was a bit cold and flavor was a little bland. Even though the meal wasn't perfect, the service was a bright spot.

    Schramsberg blanc du Blanca 2015

I can only report on Saturday half price bottle special as we had dinner in the French Quarter. We were all dressed for white linen night (8/2/24), but it was really too hot for hot women (old with hot flashes) that are too hot. My hostess and ex-sister-in-law suggested having a cocktail at a place near her home. We were pleasantly surprised to see that a Schramsberg Champagne was on the menu for half price on Saturday! Was it a coincidence that we were recently on cruise in which we were affiliated with the Schramsberg/Davies group‍anyway we ordered the Schramsberg bottle which as it turned out was not a blanc du noir as noted on the menu but a 2015 blanc du blanc at half price $42.50. Since we had already had 3 Sazerac each before visiting this establishment, we enthusiastically enjoyed/guzzled this bottle down. Our server was professional and did not judge us I took note of all the delicious food that was served to other customers and definitely want to revisit Legacy for a meal!

Easy to get to location on the Westbank expressway.. there's ample parking in front of the establishment and in the rear (shared parking lot with multiple businesses). This a a go to spot for my family and me because of the welcoming staff and delicious array of dishes. Their dishes are seasoned to perfection and their sweet tea is one of the best I've had. Perfect for any occasion

Went on 2/13/23 around 6:30pm with a call ahead table. Seated immediately. Once our Waitress arrived everything was perfect timing for our course meal. We did not order wine but we ordered other drinks from the menu. Service was 5 As for the food, the portions for what you pay for is there. As far as the quality, salad was over dressed. Baked potato was burnt on the outside. Lobster was a little dry, butter definitely came in handy. Steak was done medium rare like requested, but the outside was crispy/ like very well done on the outside.. & a little too peppery. Drink not pictured: watermelon crawl; flavor was there but watered down, still tasted like a watermelon. Whiskey sour was made with Jack Daniel's, I did not request a specific whiskey to be used but I should have asked what it was made with. Personally not a JD fan. The sour was there but again, tasted watered down. I'm give a 4/5 because of the QUALITY of the food could have been a lot better, though the QUANTITY was there.

I gave them another try and this time the food was a lot better. The first time my steak was over cooked and I was t seasoned. The ribs we're okay but the steak was really good this time, Cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Staff are very friendly. I'm glad I gave them another try.

I went here on Friday 8/25/23 for dinner. This was my first time dining here. I decided to start with the Neopolitan cocktail, made with Crown vanilla & strawberry purée. It was served with chocolate swirls. I don't do sweet drinks but I enjoyed this rich cocktail. I looked at the menu but I decided to enjoy 3 courses for $40. My starter was the skillet crawfish cornbread. It was yummy & fresh with butter on top. The portion was big too. Then my entree was the steak frites with aioli sauce. It was a good cut of meat & it was tender, & the aioli sauce on top makes this dish served with shoe string fries. The portion once again was big & I like that, because I have a meal for later. I regret not taking a picture of my entree. It was truly worth the price. For dessert I got the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream & it was delicious. It was also a good size portion. I had my leftovers for lunch the next day & the crawfish corn bread was even better, because the seasoning settled. I will definitely dine there again. They truly give you your money's' worth!

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

We got the bread to start and OMG that bread was delicious! It was buttery, with a honey flavor and 2 spreads to use. I wanted to eat it all but knew I had to eat an actual dish lol. My husband and I shared a small plate-the wagyu tacos. Lets just say I woke up thinking about those tacos I ordered a medium prime rib eye & my husband ordered a medium rare filet. His filet was perfect but my ribeye was overcooked. They made me a new one with no problem & were very apologetic. The new steak was more medium rare than medium but I still ate it and it was good but fatty. We shared the seafood mac & cheese which we both agreed was the best we had ever had. It was a huge portion so we ended up taking some home (didnt last very long after getting home). Lastly, we ordered the praline crème brûlée....another thing I woke up thinking about Im already thinking about the next time! 10 out of 10!

Managing a group of this size--split between two rooms of 30 and 60--is no small feat, but the staff and service were fast, efficient, and professional from start to finish. The Turtle Soup was a major talking point for our guests. For many, it was a first-time experience. I personally preferred the deep, savory profile of the soup on its own, but the traditional tableside sherry pour added a unique complexity that made it a must-try for anyone visiting. For the main course, the U.S.D.A. Prime 16 oz Rib-Eye was the star. Serving a large group and getting the temperature right is usually where big events stumble, but these were cooked to a perfect medium-rare across the board. The char and seasoning were phenomenal--there wasn't a single complaint from the table, which says a lot for a group with varied steak preferences. We finished with the Crème Brûlée, which arrived perfectly chilled with that signature, glass-like caramelized sugar crust. Beyond the food, the service was the highlight. The wine was flowing, and the staff did an incredible job managing individualized drink orders for 90 guests without missing a beat. The atmosphere was conversational, loud, and full of laughter--the ideal environment for high-level networking. We were looking for a nice restaurant away from the bar scene of downtown New Orleans. Looking in the window and perusing the menu, we saw a nice steakhouse at nice steakhouse prices. We went in and the hostess was able to seat us right away....but she walked us into the bar area to a high-top table by a window with a view of a TV. This was not the ambience we were looking for and despite being in blue jeans, we could afford anything and everything on the menu. So we asked the server for an actual table in the dining room and she pleasantly agreed to ask for us. The hostess, with as much attitude as she could dish out without actually calling us names, came up and said, "oh, you want a table?" She snatched the menus off the bar table and walked toward the dining room without saying another word. She sat us at an acceptable table and walked away, still oozing attitude. Luckily, Colin approached and quickly spun it around to an absolutely pleasant dining experience. The filet mignon was absolutely delectable! We also had a side of potatoes au gratin, which were pretty good as well. Colin's service was top-notch.

Now I'm sure the hostess is accustom to people bringing in their pets and lying that they're service dogs, so she told me that we had to sit outside. That's obviously illegal, we got the manager involved, the manager quickly understood that we weren't bringing a pet and got us sat inside. We ordered drinks, they took a long time to come out. I asked the grade of the Wagyu on the Manhattan steak, and the server told me it was "6 or 12 or something" Wagyu obviously comes A1-A5, so I asked him to go check. He came back and said it was A5. Not knowing Wagyu grades, and the drinks taking a while was the only place the service was lacking, he was otherwise delightful. $70 bucks seemed kind inexpensive for an A5, but I had never actually had one before so I ordered it medium rare. We ordered the seafood platter, that was fine, the breading on the shrimp was kinda soggy. Main courses comes out, and my medium rare steak was literally back black and blue. It was still cold in the center. I'm not one to send food back, but I couldn't eat it. Sent it back. It comes back quickly... too quickly, still way under cooked. Sent it back a 3rd time. At that point the rest of my family was done eating and I asked for it to just be removed instead. Which they did, and they boxed it up for me anyway in addition to comping all of our drinks, which was of course very nice. I ended up eating that steak for lunch the next day, and IF it was Wagyu, it was A1, there is a 0% chance that had the marbling to be an A5, I've had prime New York's from CostCo that had better marbling. So I give them 2 stars, the server had some learning to do, been there, but was very nice. They made up for their errors on the bill, I appreciate that, but we still went there with higher expectations. 2 stars is kind.

Our server, Christopher, was very attentive, suggested wine pairings, and gave us great recommendations. We started with the charbroiled oysters which is a must. They were large and charred to perfection on the outside grill, topped with parm and breadcrumbs. My friends ordered the filet and the gulf fish, and I had the charred cabbage entree, with a French gerwurztraminer blend. The mushrooms with the blue cheese sauce were so rich and delicious! Sweet treats were a no brainer. The blue cheese flan was creamy and decadent. A perfect ending to the meal. This is so far my fave restaurant in New Orleans. It's an honest, no BS creole inspired cuisine. 100% coming back soon!

And yet again, I am so thankful for Yelp steering me in the right direction yet again! A short Uber from the French Quarter brought us to what I believe is such a special hidden gem! The moment you step into Atchafalaya, you realize it. Ambience is amazing, quirky, cool, homey and cozy. Staff is amazing. We sat in our own private room and were treated to a very special delight of a dinner. I tried the incredible fried green tomatoes, the seafood soup (?) and the incredible steak...wow, everything was amazing. And not only did Chef Christopher Lynch come out to say hello to my Autistic son but the owner Tony Tocco did as well and it made his day! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
