We make it a combo with fries, add avocado & 2 sides of ranch & I'll admit; it IS perfect. It's always sparkling clean inside, the staff is all very friendly, the food comes out hot & quick. They have salsas, chilis & spicy, pickled onions/carrots at the self-serve salsa bar & drinks are refillable at your leisure! Great food and service. Love the variety on there menu. The options are endless. My kids are often craving burgers and fries. I enjoy onion rings and root beer floats sometimes. There's an option to order Mexican food when you aren't up for burgers and fries. My family and I keep coming back because it's a family friendly restaurant. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Perfect for date night or just a night out with friends. I like how this diner also has a drive thru. First came here in 2019/2020 with one of my best friends. Walking distance from the house so it's very convenient. After a hike, there's nothing like some good ol' American comfort food. Legends is a fun diner along the historic Route 66, which they've capitalized in their decor here. The menu is also very expansive from burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, fried goods, and even Mexican food. I ordered the Jalapeño Avocado Burger ($7.85) and small Classic Sampler ($7.50) of all the fried appetizers. First of all, the portions are huge. It wouldn't be a representation of America if it wasn't, but keep that in mind when ordering. We definitely ordered more than we ate, but I ain't mad about having leftovers. The burger was delicious and hefty. I love how you can define each layer of ingredients, especially the chargrilled jalapeños that gave a nice smokey and spicy flavor. In addition, the sampler was perfect because you get a mix of fried zucchini, onion rings, fried mushrooms, and French fries. All the fried goods went perfectly with the ranch and was the perfect portion when you can't decide which fried goods you want. I'm a sucker for all of them, so this is nice. Haven't visited Legends for about 7 years so was interested to see how they are doing. Legends still has that diner feel with good food and generous portions. The deep fried mushrooms and fries are great and the burgers are good. Although the interior is getting tired, it is still a great place for diner food with room for a group! The food is very good and service is prompt. All Our food came out very hot. My kids each had the cheeseburger combos with shakes instead of soda and they said everything was delicious. I had the patty melt, which was also delicious The fries were crispy and well seasoned. Ambiance-wise there's a lot of memorabilia on the walls and some very cool murals. It's a very large and spacious place with ample seating outside too. It's a little pricey but what isn't these days. Given the quality of the food, the ambiance and the service I would say the price is ok. read more

I was craving a breakfast burrito one morning and this was one is the closest spots that looked legit. Went through the drive through and it took a while, but it was a solid size and I think the salsa was pretty good. Came back for a pastrami sandwich a few months later and ate inside the restaurant. The young manger working Saturday night was very nice and the employees served the meal very quickly, when we got the food we first tried the fries they were a little soggy but the mushrooms and zucchini's were very delicious. Absolutely LOVE this place! My wife and I have ordered twice off UberEats and it's so delicious! First time I got the double bacon cheeseburger. Bun was super soft, burger cooked perfectly, accompanied with a side of seasoned fries. This time around, I got the grilled fish tacos. It's a good size portion of grilled white fish, avocado, cabbage, accompanied with their sauce and it comes with chips and salsa. SO GOOD!! I ordered two! My new favorite place in Glendora. Have tried what they call grilled cheese:1/2 slice of cheese on toasted bread. FAIL. French fries hot and soggy, fail. Hamburgers tiny patty on hard bun. Fail. Hot dogs, cut in half and fried plus tastes like they salted them. Fail. Grilled ham and cheese. 1 slice of ham on the same kind of failed grilled cheese sandwich. Chicken sandwiches made with dry chewy chicken. Zucchini too awful to describe. Tried almost all dishes and have determined the paper products they serve them on would taste better. Even the chili is spiced so much you really don't taste anything but the burn. This use to be a pretty good place. It had certainly been a while since I last visited Legends. I had the craving for some pastrami, and I was in the area, so I figured I would stop in. Due to the Covid pandemic, there is only takeout and drive thru bring offered. They do have some outside seating, but I didn't really feel that the tables were spread out enough. Anyways I walked into the restaurant and was immediately greeted by the employee behind the counter. Now I know that Legends has always been on the pricier side of your typical "burger joint" that has that taste of everything menu, but I was really surprised to see how expensive everything had become. I put that aside and ordered a pastrami melt (rye bread, pastrami, cheese, pickles, mustard), and an order of mozzarella cheese sticks. I waited outside and was brought my meal within a 10 minute waiting period. Now onto the food....I was really disappointed in the food that I was given. The pastrami was terrible. It was overly salty, as if it was dunked in a salt bath, and had a very rubbery texture to it. The cheese sticks were a joke.. they were not even hot or melted on the inside. It appeared that they were made sometime prior and just sat under a heat-lamp. Absolutely horrible! They looked good on the outside, however they were cold to the touch. The cheese was not melted. Literally it was as if someone took a cheese stick from the fridge and wrapped some luke-warm breading on it. I had thought to myself, you had 10 minutes to bring me out my order, and you could not make me fresh cheese sticks? Its really hard to mess up cheese sticks. Especially since they were about $8 for an order. Well congrats Legends, you found a way! I wanted to go back inside and get a refund, but at that point in time, the line was out the door with about 12 people in front of me, and I had to be at an engagement, so time was of the essence. Overall this place is a huge letdown. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was that the employee behind the counter was really nice and engaging. I do not see myself coming back here ever, or recommending this place to anyone. read more

This place used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Their breakfast burritos here are one of my faves. Sadly I don't know if there was a change in management here but they have become real cheap skates. They started charging for every extra thing when they once didn't. They charge for cups, hot sauce, chilis or ranch. The part that annoys me is that if you go inside they have chilis and hot sauce out with no regulations. They just choose to tax you if you are in the drive through. I know I probably sound like a Karen it's just annoying and doesn't make sense logically. read more

wow! today was so amazing. the team member at the front register was so sweet. we had a couple questions on the menu and she happily answered everything. we chose to dine in and sat at the ice cream bar. a wonderful lady came to bring us our food and made sure we had everything we needed. the service was extremely superb. they were hitting all the marks. the food was great. my Bacon Avocado Cheeseburger Combo was delicious! the avocado was fresh and the bacon was sizzling hot. the burger patty was delicious. we also got a 2/3 lb cheeseburger which was also quite delicious. the onion rings we got were so crunchy yummy and delicious. everything was so great here today. they even have a salsa bar next to the drinks if you so desire some heat! the interior was so cute and paid homage to the route 66. it was so nice here, being my third visit. will be coming back!! read more

What a cute little place! I used to love dining in 50s, retro, old style diners, so I was excited to see one along Route 66! My fiancé mentioned it was famous, so we decided to get it one evening after a long skate session. I loved the food--it was really filling. For a 1/3 pound cheeseburger with fries and a chicken breast salad with fries, it was $30, so you're definitely getting a lot for your money. All in all we would go back! My dear friend and I used to dine at this Legends during our work lunch hour and also on occasion when we get together outside of work. Her go-to item is the Crispy Chicken Salad and my go-to item is the Turkey and Avocado Salad. We both love our delicious salads. Her crispy chicken looks so good. My turkey was sweet and tasty. My avocados were always in good ripe. Portions were huge. I'm missing my salad right now. I haven't had Legends in a while. Time to get back into the swing of things the next time I'm nearby a Legends and order myself the salad. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean. They have inside and outside patio dining. I love the classic look inside the restaurant. They have pictures of actors and actresses on the wall. Black and white checkered look. It's very quaint. Yesterday we finally decided to come here. I used to live in Glendora and San Dimas from 2017 up until 2022. And I've always passed by and now I finally tried it. Legends is next door to Social Security, on its ride side. The parking lot is big, so one shouldn't have trouble finding parking. Upon walking in, it was amazingly huge inside with a high ceiling and a lot of space in general inside. It was really surprising how big it was inside, I was not expecting that at all. I felt like I was in a museum with so many pictures inside and things to look at. The establishment is definitely an eye-looker. 50's theme, all-American/ Moreover, instead of sitting down at a booth or table, and waiting for a waiter to take one order. One is actually supposed to walk up to the register and place your order and then sit wherever you like. They don't have menus to give out, they only have one to look at in case a customer has bad eyes and cannot read what's on the wall as I was told. I wanted to order a root beer float since it was a sunny and warm day. Unfortunately, I was told the person in charge of the ice cream station was not there and would arrive at 3:00 pm. I ordered at 2:51 pm. I think it's odd that no one in the diner knows how to make a root beer float there but one person. I read another review after I ate here, someone commenting on the same issue I had. And the owner replying is a matter of policy. Which is also weird, most businesses cross-train. My first job was at a small restaurant inside a hotel, and I was a busboy. When the waiter was too busy, I would take customers' orders, and bring them out food. Decor: Very cool, 100% Service: Friendly Time etiquette: The food was brought out promptly. So kudos to serving in a timely manner. Flavor: We both agreed that both of the burgers were a 5 out of 10. They were not terrible, but definitely nothing special about them. Initially, I wanted to go to Norm's famous burgers in Whittier where I grew up. I used to always order their delicious double bacon avocado burger but since I was very hungry and felt it was too far at the moment, I thought we could try something closer & new. My burger, specifically the meat tasted overcooked, meaning dry. The fries that came with my burger were good. The chili cheese fries were decent. And I probably would order them again, but preferably Weinersnicthcel has better fries in my opinion, and is a few minutes down the street. Price: it's a little expensive for the poor taste or quality of the food. But the burgers are massive. For the establishment being as big as it is, it was really empty. And the little customers it did have seem to be senior citizens. I counted 3 elderly couples, a total of 6 people. I honestly don't know how this place stays in business, mediocre or subpar food with prices that don't match its quality. I'm assuming the owner is the landlord of the building and it's paid off. And the little service they do get pays their expenses. I did notice they had a lot of employees for such little customers. All in all, I really wanted to like this place and recommend it but the truth is the food was nothing special. Ruby's Diner is way better. As for me coming back, I am open to exploring their menu a few more times before calling it quits, maybe a Turkey burger next time, and definitely a dessert or ice cream. But they need to change the policy of only having one person make it. That's really disappointing that no one has the ability or authority to make a root beer float or ice cream for their customers. read more
