The food is very good and it's great for kids with Mickey Mouse pizza The burger is very good for lunch or dinner. I love their lasagna where my wife usually gets the spaghetti and really digs it. 5-stars if you want a great option for Italian in the area. Maybe 4-stars if you are further away, and have other options. And, I'd award more than 5 stars, if I could, for how they handled my recent 50-person event. I went to Legno for dinner a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised! (I had been there once a few years ago, and was had a very hum-drum experience, without any strong desire to return.) We've been there a few times since for dinner, and have had very good experiences. Admittedly, I have not tried a lot of different things from the menu, but on each occasion I have been there, everyone from our group was very happy with their meals. The menu is broad--ranging from less-expensive pizzas, sandwiches, and pasta options, to fancier, more robust entrees. The food and service has always been very good. I LOVE the diavola pasta. At once visit, I remarked on how much I loved the diavola sauce, and the chef prepared a separate bowl of sauce for me to take home. Awesome! I also recently hosted a party for about 50 people there (on a Friday night), and they did an amazing job. They let us order off the menu, and accommodated our request for separate tickets (17 separate tickets for the group). They have a private room (with TV and HDMI port for any videos, presentations) which can hold about 30 seated guests, and then another connected semi-private area outside of the private room that can hold another 30-50 guests. We had both areas to ourselves, and people could stay seated or roam around and mingle at their choosing. The service and food were great (which can be very hard to find for large groups). All of the guests were very happy. They added a 20% gratuity on the food-drinks, which I thought was appropriate, and every penny of gratuity was well-deserved. So, if you need to plan an event, and want a private/semi-private room, consider this place. They did an outstanding job! I plan to return on a Monday for a meal of appetizers--thanks for the tip from another Yelper. I'm so glad I gave this place a second chance (and third, fourth, and fifth chances), after a very forgettable experience there a few years ago. My wife and I held our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding! We live in the neighborhood and wanted a nice local spot who would take care of us! Cameron (Camy), the manager was so personable, welcoming and did everything to accommodate us! He worked with us and gave great recommendations on our night would be so special! We were very satisfied! He definitely knows what customer service is all about ! Robby the bartender is also amazing! He knows everything there is to know about beer, as well as hard alcohol! I just had a very tasty brunch salad at Legno today. I have always enjoyed their food but I will not be going back anytime soon. I was disgusted by the bartender. She had her mask under her nose while making my drink and juicing some fruit. In fact she had it down for the entire duration of our visit. This is review based on my delivery through Grubhub. Delivery was quick, and overall great. The food on the other hand was just simply bad. We ate at Legno, and ordered delivery from Legno on numerous occasions. This time though the food was simply terrible. Let me start off by saying none of the pizzas were cut into slices. We ordered Prosciutto Pizza, Gustosa Pizza, and Wings.The Prosciutto Pizza was really greasy, and made with something that not even looked like Prosciutto or even tasted like one. The Gustosa Pizza was also greasy, and really salty, it had none of that Legno flavor from the wood fired oven that they have. Wings were dry, as if they were reheated. I don't usually write reviews but this was place was an exception. We went here for my sister's 21st birthday. The service was absolutely amazing, the staff made you feel welcome and personable. I am super impressed with this place! Suparossa has always been a favorite, because the food is awesome. However, Legno is a complete renovation of the old Suparossa on Central. The interior of the place has been completely gutted, and the restaurant now has a cozy, rustic, trendy vibe. The service is impeccable, as always, and the food...OMG, THE FOOD!!!! Legno has an entirely new menu, and it's even better than the standard Suparossa menu, if that's even possible. I had the cavatelli, which was presented entirely differently at Legno and was soooooo good. All the food is much more presentation-focused..."fancy-schmancy," as some would say. Yesterday was my second visit to Legno. My first time, I was thoroughly unimpressed. But I had put it down to having a bad waiter. Went there for Mother's Day (which I knew would be busy), but again the service was garbage. Our waiter ordered our appetizer which arrived and we had to ask the manager for plates. For our main order our first choice was not available (like our coffee choice), and came out ok. In summary, the food here is ok at best, but absolutely not worth the crap service. Brunch! It was great. I finally decided to try this place again, and I love it again. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my companion ordered the eggs Benedict with the Portabella mushroom and spinach. We each got to try one and then we had their bloody Mary, which included the most wonderful bacon. Came here on a quiet Thursday night and had a very enjoyable time. The server was attentive and helpful. We tried a delicious burrata appetizer for a cold one as well as the wood roasted octopus. I'm not a fan of fishy things but I tried the octopus and even I was a little impressed by it. I had a great short rib entree that I was a very big fan of. The beer list wasn't expansive, but the variety and options they had were all great options. That's great in my book! Overally, Legno was a great spot. I wasn't sure what to expect when meeting some friends for a Legno dinner. I only knew this place as Supparosa so seeing this modern dining room was a breath of fresh air for the neighborhood. The menu keeps to the Italian roots of Supparosa but just like the decor there were some modern takes and classics. The prosciutto wrapped dates were hit with everyone and the beef carpaccio was an unexpected surprise. Who knew raw beef could be that good?. Everything else I tried seemed like care went into creating it. I'll say this. If you're thinking about going somewhere like olive garden to get "italian" food. Give Legno a try instead. The prices are pretty reasonable and you'll get quality. Plus if you live on the northwest side you won't even need to go into the city. My boyfriend and I just shared the chicken avocado sandwich with fries and the portions are quite generous. Moved to the neighborhood not that long ago and just discovered this place. We sat in the bar area which is very well done. It is getting cold out but can imagine this place would be awesome on a warm day with the doors opening out onto the sidewalk. With the food, my wife had the pork shoulder and it was fantastic. I had the short ribs and while it was good I can't say it was one of the best I've had. This will not stop me from coming back and trying other dishes since my wife's dish was great. The most average place I have ever been to. Not bad, not good. The menu was significantly reduced, so I didn't have very many options considering I am pescatarian. We moved into the neighborhood a few months ago and want to try some of the restaurants in the neighborhood. We're always trying to support our local businesses. So yesterday Friday 18 February around 5:00pm we decided to stop by at Legno restaurant to try this so call gem of the neighborhood. We walked into the restaurant and waited by the sign stating wait to be seated. There was about 2 to 3 tables with people eating already. Two minutes pass and no greeters approach us. We could see a group of workers about 2 waitresses and one busboy, standing by the wall next to bar, they definitely made eye contact with us but never acknowledges us. We look towards their way again for help, we stood there standing like fools for another 3 minutes and not one came to the front or said anything. They stood there talking together not caring for any customer. If this the way you guys run your business but are always asking to shop and eat local, you are doing it wrong. So we took our business to another restaurant Stefani Prime they know how to treat their customers with respect. I will make sure everyone know how bad of services Legno restaurant is, if I could give negative stars it will be -3, total failure. read more

Went here for the first thine on a Saturday night. Place does a good business so it's good to have reservations thru open table (yay points). We ordered the arancini, creamy French onion soup, pumpkin risotto, and neopolitan pizza pie. The soup was amazing, the risotto was very good but needed salt, and the pizza pie was the love child of a calzone and chicken pot pie. The waiter forgot the arancini which was just as well since that probably would have been too much rice given the risotto. For dessert we split the chocolate cake which was super good. And the waiter felt so bad about forgetting an appetizer that he gave us a complimentary tiramisu, which was unnecessary but a nice gesture. We will be back. read more

Gross. I cannot judge about their service as I ordered my food to be delivered. I ordered the crab cakes, grilled calamari and a seafood pasta. My crab cakes tasted like they'd been frozen for a decade. The calamari were supposed to be grilled, but they were just boiled and had some sauce over it, plus they tasted like a rubber. The seafood pasta - spaghetti were good, but all the seafood components tasted not fresh and over cooked. In addition to that the delivery was 30 minutes later than estimated.
