AVOID AT ALL COSTS! You cannot trust anything they tell you. Whether you are buying or selling your car, avoid Riata Ford at all costs! Riata Ford contacted me and made a "sight unseen" offer for a car I was selling. The offer was a little low, so I asked if they could increase their offer at all. I explained that I was selling the car to cover medical expenses, that I didn't have the time or luxury for games. The salesman then told me that if the car is as described, he might be able to get me more, but his manager would have to see it in person. Riata Ford is 30+ miles away from where I live. I told them that I would need to take off work to bring it to them. I expressed concern at the idea of adding additional miles to the odometer (it has really low miles and is advertised with specific mileage). I repeatedly stated that I did not want to waste my time with a convoluted sale. He assured me it would be simple and straightforward. When I took the car to the dealership, the manager and multiple other employees complimented the car up and down and acted like they were amazed by the condition. At that point they claimed the best way for them to get the highest price for me was to put the car up on dealer auction. "Don't worry, it will take an hour or less. But we need to take it in the garage and inspect it." I should have asked more questions. They made it sound like in an hour they would be able to tell me how much more than the "sight unseen" price they would be able to give me. Not so. After waiting an hour, the salesman came back and told me the car was up on auction and I could leave. He promised to call me within an hour with a new price. I never heard from him again. For two days I tried to contact him via phone, email and text. He ghosted me. He did pocket dial me once by mistake though. I then called the dealership to find out what was happening. Conveniently, everyone involved with the car was "out that day". The new person checked the auction (I didn't even know they were still trying to auction the car), and told me the most they could give me was $6000 LESS than their "sight unseen" offer. The "sight unseen" offer was never real. I can't say for certain what their strategy was, but it seems this was all just a ploy to try to auction my vehicle and take a percentage of the sale. They tried to exploit my situation, not caring that I'm selling to cover medical expenses, that I had to take off work, or that I had to drive 75 miles round trip. 3 hours of time wasted thanks to their shameless bait-and-switch deception. We are from Wisconsin and had towed our travel trailer down to Texas for our son's wedding. We were on our way home and stopped in Austin for a planned one night stay. That's when our Ford F150 had mechanical issues. We took it into Riata Ford and I am so happy we did. Service advisor Jon was terrific. I told Jon I was under a time deadline to return to Wisconsin for a scheduled shoulder surgery. When I explained my situation to Jon, he wasted no time in getting us back on the road in time to get back for my surgery. What otherwise may have taken a week, they did in two days! The repairs were professionally done and their customer service was outstanding. If Riata Ford was in my home town in Wisconsin, I would be a lifelong customer. Thanks Jon! read more

I ordered service to my vehicle over a week in advance. I never got any kind of confirmation, so on the day of repairs (the earliest I could call due to my day job), I called them to confirm it myself. They claimed that, despite the website making a calendar event and sending me a text notification that I would be receiving updates on the status of my appointment (which didn't happen), my appointment didn't exist. They told me that a service representative would get back to me. 4 hours later, I got tired of waiting and called them back. I was able to be transferred to a representative quickly, but he provided no clear explanation for my appointment's disappearance, and gave me no help in rescheduling my appointment. I would expect nothing less from a car dealership, but even this was outrageous. To save you time and anguish, do NOT get your vehicle serviced here, and NEVER use their website to do so. read more

Service is the worst! My husband took his car in for an oil change and for them to check a sound inside the ford fusion. Well they didn't bother to even check and on top of it all they tell us to take back to whoever didn't replaced the air filter REALLY! WE WASTED OUR SATURDAY is fords job to find the issue, but laziness is better than to actually look for what the issues are. The car is under warranty and is their responsibility to fix it. Now we have to take another day to take it back to ford for them to fix the problem. Riata Ford claims to deliver your vehicle to you. Making it easier for you when buying during the Covid virus. My experience was much different.  Yes my 2016 Ram 2500 was deliver but it had a mess of issues that I fail to believe were over looked and they definitely were issues prior to the delivery of the truck. The very first time I drove the truck, it threw a default trouble code and the transmission was acting up. I called Riata Ford and was told not to worry about, it would be taken care of. I drove the truck down to Riata Ford. I was told it was a Ram and they couldn't work on it so I was told to drive it home and I would be called after they talked to Dodge and scheduled an appointment.  After not hearing from them, I called. I was told to bring it down. (I live in Bell county BTW) I was given a rental and told they would call me when Dodge looked at it. After a few days of not hearing, I called them. I was told they would call Dodge and then call me back. The next day, I called them and was told the transmission needed a valve body and the part would take over a month due to Covid. So I went and got my truck. I called the day after they were supposed to call me and finally started complaining a bit about the quality of customer service, the total lack of planning and straight lines I was being fed at this point. They sent someone to come get the Ram. (looking back I see it was more to keep an unhappy customer away from potential customers) However, when they showed up, they had no rental for me. Guess who got to rent their own vehicle. When my rental ran out and I had to turn it in because I couldn't continue to afford a rental, I found out from Dodge, it had been done for days and Riata just never picked it up. After all that I get it back and the transmission is still slipping in three gears. I call Riata and get told at first, that it's my truck and my issue (come to find out, that is what they really mean) after posting reviews and arguing with them they agreed to have Dodge look at it again. This time it has been down there 8 days and they only test drove it. They said it isn't throwing codes and it didn't slip in the test drive (keep in mind, more miles were driven to get it back down there then were down on the test drive) 8 days and they test drove it. Now I am being told it is my problem.  Most people that know Ram and their famous 68 Trans knows the clutch packs and valve bodies go out about the same time. (No wonder it is still slipping with 136k on it) They will not tell me if the clutch packs are within service limits in accordance with the service manual because they are not willing to spend that much money on it, clearly they have no issue wasting time. I did not argued about the price of the truck or my very nice trade it. I simply wanted to get a good truck and not get handled by a company looking to unload it's garbage in the name of Covid. As a compromise, I asked if they would guarantee the transmission for one year? They refused. They refused because what I am saying is right! I have to pull my 14000 pound toy hauler out to Fort Bragg at the end of the year and they know this transmission isn't going to make it. I have been planning this since I found out my Grandson was on his way and Son, a Paratrooper at Fort Bragg, needed me to help with their house. The only part of my plan that failed was using Riata Ford.  It is also clear that the steps were ripped off in and accident (probably the same thing that made the dent in the door) although no accident was reported on the car fax. They didn't even bother to take down the coat hanger that was used to try to fix the damaged undercarriage.  After all this I took it to get a full service. Although the computer was reset like a service was recently done, the filters and guilds strongly disagree! They know once you have it, they can drag their feet long enough to stick you with it. I bought a 2016 Ford F250 SD Diesel from this dealer. I have since moved so I decided to use the Ford dealer in the new location for oil changes etc. What a mistake, I'm going back to Riata, they installed my Ranch hand bumpers in no time flat. The truck is starting to age and still runs like a champ. No issues at all, service department is always friendly can be slow at times, but never excessively. I am never surprised by "extra charges" I always know I can count on Riata Ford. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new Ford Truck or Car. read more

First truck purchase from a Ford Dealership. Sale went fairly well but then had multiple financing offers with higher interest rates due to mileage and year of truck. Did finally agree in terms. Of course on 8th day after purchase the check engine light comes on. Contacted sales and service advisor. Sales said they would check and never replied after that. Service Advisor never replied (received welcome to Riata service right after purchase). At least communicate that you cant, won't or bring it on instead of the no communication (crickets). read more

Came here looking for a car I found online. Saw the great reviews about a guy named Michael Jackson and he ended up being my salesman! Everything was laid back, not the stereotypical pushy sales tactics you see in the movies. Pros: clean, open, friendly but not overly friendly, good prices, not crowded Cons: they didn't budge on the pricing for me but the price had recently reduced -- and was the lowest I could find anywhere in the state for that model of vehicle I bought the car I had been stalking online for about a week, and so far am very happy. Husband checked under the hood -- new air filter, fresh oil change, they hooked up the car with new tires and I left with a full tank of gas! I also have to commend management on hiring a diverse group of salespeople. I really clicked with Mike and Carlos -- great people. If you need a car go see them. After visiting and test driving and working on a deal at several ford dealerships (Covert Hutto, Mac Haik Georgetown, and Maxwell), plus online attempts to negotiate pricing at dealerships between Austin, Houston, & Dallas, I finally decided to visit Riata Ford because they had the vehicle in the color and options that I wanted. I walked in and the greeter called over a salesperson, Ajay Malani. I told Ajay what I was looking for and I was only debating on deciding between color (white or black). He immediately began searching for what a wanted and talked to me about all the specials and incentives and even did scenarios on which would work out best for me overall. He never made me feel undervalued or pressured into purchasing. After a quick discussion and negotiation, I was purchasing the new 2019 Ford F-150 Limited that I had saw online for the price and finance terms that I was hoping to get in Austin without having to drive to Houston to get the deal. My casual stroll over to Riata ford resulted in me purchasing a 75k truck while I was somewhat window shopping. Ajay even offered to work up the paperwork and cleaning the truck while I went home to drop of my current car that I was keeping so that I didn't have to wait around the dealership. Then I met with Ryan Fisher, the finance manager whom I had worked with when I bought my last ford and he made the finance paperwork process easy and he didn't push unnecessary add-ons that I didn't need (even though I chose to buy some of back-end products just because the price was reasonable). Me and my wife both take our cars to Riata for all the routine maintenance. We even bought my wife's explorer from Riata. Riata has always been great on both sides the sale and service side. Service side I usually deal with JD, he is awesome. I always setup a time and never wait long for my oil changes. I have dealt with the other service technicians and never had any issues with them. The buying experience was excellent but the service department is the worst I've ever experienced. Poorly done work requiring multiple returns, or in some cases work not performed at all. I had to take one of mine elsewhere to get their sloppy work repaired. During a simple hinge adjustment they scratched the door and doorframe to the bare metal and had to repaint it. The last straw for me was when they left a ground cable loose and my car stalled on the highway 10 miles after picking it up. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a vehicle there but I will never let them work on one of my vehicles again. read more

I am giving this place a 1 star. I moved to Manor in the beginning of 2018. I haven't needed a mechanic for any repairs till the last 2 months. So I decided to try out riata ford here in Manor, Tx. The 1st time was to fix the rear a/c to where it would blow out cold. I knew they would charge more being a dealership which was fine since I know they use OEM parts. That job went fine. This time (10/8/2020) my van went out on me the previous Saturday and I had my van towed in. The advisor told me it would be Monday morning before it could be looked at. Tuesday around 11:30am I called and was told that it has not been looked at because the tow truck driver parked it on an incline and the reverse did not work so they would have to tow it away from the fence. They would look at it after lunch and I should hear something before 5pm. Weds comes along and I get another story why I can't get an answer to what is wrong with my vehicle. Thursday, I actually go in to find out what is going on...yep another story but this time I wanted a time when I will get an answer. Chris, the advisor, said no later than 3. 4:30pm he calls and tells me I need a new transmission unit. Fine. I ask him what I will be looking at price wise. He tells me over $6200.00. For a 2001 ford e-150 van transmission. What?!!?? I asked him how much he is charging for the unit. Chris said they have to get it through Auto Zone and it will cost $4200.00 for the unit. I called auto zone and O'reilly's and they tell me the unit is $1699.00 plus a $500 core charge. I can understand this is a company that is for profit but when you buy from auto part stores you can not, should not, charge an additional $2500.00 for a part a customer can get at the same place for cheaper. I do know, not only has the service dept lost a new customer but the dealership itself has lost a possible buyer in the sales dept also. read more

Typical bait & switch joint. I inquired about a used 2015 Ram truck that was listed for $26,700. Truck was highly optioned with low mileage. I was contacted by salesman "John" on 4/24/17 at about 8:15pm. John ASSURED me the truck was still available and had been on the lot for over 45 days. He went on about how nice the truck was, and how much he likes the Ram console. On John's word I sent pics of my trade and filled out online credit app. At promptly 9:10 the next morning I called and was told by Kristen that the truck sold "yesterday evening." So a truck that has been sitting around for almost two months and is still on the lot AFTER CLOSING TIME is mysteriously sold when they open the next morning? Right. Wow, talk about a sleezy sales person! I got the 'ole "make the customer wait around for NOTHING except to try and break their spirit." He was literally sitting up front twirling his pencil 3x while we waited for him. And my poor little trade in...first, they low balled (acceptable practice). Then, they gave me a "today" high ball offer. I say, "yes, yes, I am interested." I wait 30 minutes for him to calculate pricing...he comes back with pricing that is almost $2K BELOW what he just offered for my trade in. "What about the other trade in price?" I ask... *crickets* So what happened after I walked out and asked for pricing to be called or emailed to me? *crickets* Right, I waited for two hours for some pricing and have squat to show for it. I connected with Riata online when I was looking for a Ford Fusion. A sales person contacted me by email and invited me down to test drive the car. Since Riata is out of the way for me, we made an appointment and I went down only to find that the car/engine/options combination I wanted to test drive wasn't there, and the salesman had not been paged - so I was waiting for almost 15 minutes. On my first visit, it seemed like the entire Riata staff came out to greet me - the Internet Sales Manager, another manager, it seemed like a very friendly dealership and a nice change from another Ford dealership I had browsed at. The salesman promised to find the car/engine/options combination for me for my next visit, and at that time, I told him that I'd like to get trade-in value for my old car. CONSUMER ALERT. If you are trading a car, arm yourself with information! One Riata sales man told me to use NADA guide, I also got estimates from Edmunds.com as well as kbb.com I returned to Riata with 3 trade-in figures all within $500 so I was pretty confident what the value of my car was. In addition, I was also cross-shopping the new Mazda 6, the Buick Verano, and the new Chevy Malibu, so I had other trade-in values which were all within $1000 of each other. The funniest thing was that the non-Ford dealerships told me I'd probably get the best trade for my old Ford at a Ford dealership. When I got back to Riata, the sales rep had a car for me to test-drive. It was fresh off the trailer as it was still covered with plastic and filthy. It was also empty so we had to get gas. The car was OK - I had issues with a few items - but since this review is strictly about the dealership, I'll review the car somewhere else. While I was out test-driving, Riata was supposed to look at my old car to give me their trade-in value. So when we got back, I waited.... and waited... and waited until their Trade-In evaluator, Allan, presented me with a number $3500 less than NADA! When I told them they were wayyy too low and showed Allan the NADA and Edmunds estimates, his reply was that the trade-in value depended on the price if the car I was buying. The more expensive a car I was to buy, the more of a trade-in value they'd allow. I thanked them for their time and got ready to leave - and that's when Allan asks me if I was seriously going to buy a car or just trying to get a "hypothetical" number. A business manager came over and kept assuring me that they could re-look at my trade and get me more money. Then I got this hilarious line from Allan that the dealership only made a couple hundred per car and that there was next to no profit selling cars. I've heard this before, and all I can say is that if you're in a business where you only made a couple hundred a car, you're in the wrong business! As I headed out the door, Allan asked me again if I was seriously going to buy a car or just browsing. I told him again that I was dead serious - and even if I were just browsing, as a consumer, obviously I needed to know what my trade-in value was going to be. So his parting words were, "Well, if you're seriously going to buy a car, let us know! We want to earn your business!" So I bought a car that night..... from a different dealer who didn't lowball my trade! read more

We came to Riata Ford with financing challenges and a need to obtain a family vehicle to replace our Honda Civic. We have one child, a year old, and another on the way. The manager was Asher and Ajay helped us a lot as well. They were AWESOME! They got us approved for a beautiful 2011 Edge SEL with terms drastically more favorable than ANY other dealership could offer. When there was a paperwork error, they DROVE TO MY OFFICE and brought the new papers. When we had a service issue, (no fault of the dealership), they offered to come pick up the car and give us a rental. So glad I did business here. Service here is an absolute joke. This is the third time we have taken our car into them and we have had nothing but problems from them. No communication from our service rep, nothing but excuses from the service manager. Why are we having to call multiple times just to get an update? Why is the rep not taking care of making the calls to their customers? Why are they not returning messages? We have literally never received a call back when we leave a message because 'they are with a customer'. 3 days they have had our car and they can't replicate our service request. 3 days we were without a car and were never offered a rental vehicle. Our vehicle has less than 50k miles on it - exactly how hard is it to run dignostics and tell us what the issue is. We have used two different services reps and neither know what customer service is. Now we are dealing with a service manager and we can't even get updates from her, just excuses. read more

She pointed me towards an awesome sales associate that was quick to send me a quote on the SUV I was looking for with all the additions that I wanted. Thank you Robert! I was emailed by the sales associate when the car I had been wanting pulled off the truck (exact color, exact interior). Robert is extremely responsive and so helpful. He will tell you like it is and doesn't steer you in the wrong direction by trying to up sell you or anything. He kept his word and made no promises that he couldn't keep. I never felt rushed into making the decision right then. Great experience, great customer service, stress free and extremely accommodating! I'd recommend them to anyone...Manor isn't too far out of the way, especially when you know you're going to get a great deal and have a good auto-buying experience. read more

Best car buying experience I've had! I went to a few Toyota and Honda dealerships in town and was literally at the end of my rope. I was about to break down and cry when I found this place. I wanted to pay cash and so did not really have much of a flexible budget. The other dealerships kept trying to force me to finance and kept telling me I was basically stupid for trying to find a decent used car for 13,000. But Riata saved me. I looked at their massive inventory online and they brought any cars I wanted to see from their satellite dealerships. They were very nice and didn't push me into buying a car at all. My one complaint is the original car I was interested in was listed as an automatic but I got there and it was a standard. But that's ok because I found a car I liked even better. I can't say that the car salesman knew a ton about the Corolla I was looking at but I guess it really is a Ford dealership. And the fact that he was absolutely ZERO pressure made it worth it to me. I do all my own research anyway. Seriously give this place a chance. And if you're looking for someone laid back who will not pressure you ask for Paul. read more

The worst service I've ever had . You make an appointment just for it to take an hour sometimes two after your appointment time to get your car in for service so it can take 4 hours easy just for something as simple as an oil change. Staff does not communicate with you at all...just an all around bad place for service. Would only recommend if you have a day or two to get your car serviced. Update to response: I called at 8:30 that morning to make sure they had an earlier slot to get me in and they confirmed me for 10 am. 10:30 rolled around and I asked the gentleman in front how long it would be and he said at least 2 hours so I didn't just show up early, I called and confirmed first. It doesn't matter because I won't be going there to get my car serviced for the fact that I don't have half a day to get my oil changed. read more

Used car purchase experience went real smooth. Recently worked with Tony Nguyen and he was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. At no point does Tony haggle you, push you, or give you a BS response to your queries. He put in the work to meet our budget and made my wife and I extremely happy with our purchase of a 2013 F150 Lariat Ecoboost. Whether it was test driving the car for the weekend, coming in to work through numbers, Tony never pigeon-holed us into something that fit his needs. It was rather the opposite - being up front and telling us if something was possible or not. It was not only enjoyable to work with Tony - he also provided the best price in the Austin area. If I could give less than 1 star I would. $600 to put in a new alternator and battery. 2 months later, alternator goes bad. Ok, it happens. Take my truck in for repair under warranty. Have to call multiple times to make contact. Well, it took 52 1/2 hours, a curt call with the "service advisor" and a grouchy wife call to the service manager, but they finally managed to take a look at it and let me know that it's the exact problem I told them it was when I dropped it off (bad alternator - which they put in 2 months ago). Here we are at the close of day 3 and I'm told "we replaced the alternator, but we're having trouble with the battery". I ask if it will be done by closing, like promised and I'm told that all of the technicians went home for the day. No communication. Piss-poor customer service. Never again will my truck be anywhere near this place and neither will I. **UPDATE** After speaking with representatives of Riata Ford regarding my experience, they have gone to great lengths to make things right - up to and including the service manager personally delivering my repaired truck to my house over 30 minutes away from the dealership and taking the time to detail it for me. I greatly appreciate the efforts that have been taken to rectify a bad experience and, in light of such efforts, I am amending my rating to reflect the efforts undertaken on their part. read more

But when it came time for me to get a refund, it took 4mos of calls and texts to the GM, whom I have to say was less than welcoming during our phone conversations. His customer service lacked gracious and kindness and a certain decorum I would expect from a person in his position. it still hasn't arrived. I am being told that it's in the mail. I recently purchased a new vehicle from Riata in Manor. I was very satisfied with the entire experience. In part b/c they're my local dealer. They're more accessible than other dealerships I spent time with. I appreciate that they're only a few miles down the road, just in case my vehicle needs servicing. And I know having my vehicle serviced at Riata didn't require I purchase from them, but all else equal, I always prefer establishing relationships with local businesses. But in bigger part, the saleswoman I worked with, Joy, committed more time helping me than other sales staff at other dealerships. Of the 12 vehicles I test drove, 6 were at Riata through Joy! She even brought in a Mazda I was interested in from a sister location. And that time in each of those vehicles, comparing them, talking through likes and dislikes w/her, really helped me understand each of them better. She was a huge help throughout the entire process. I had started my vehicle search about a month before arriving at Riata. I originally wanted a Toyota Tundra but wound up w/a Ford Edge. A wide swing perhaps, but I'm totally happy w/the Edge vs. a full size truck. It's the perfect vehicle for me right now, and Joy played a huge part helping me arrive at that decision. Once I started the buying process, Jennifer in finance walked me through everything patiently and carefully. She clarified each pricing component and indeed, the price Joy said I'd walk out the door with was the same price Jennifer had me sign off on. Overall it was great buying experience once I found Riata. I'd easily recommend them to anyone purchasing a vehicle. Especially if you're in Manor, but greater Austin residents should consider the short drive to Riata worth it. They're local, generous w/their time, knowledgeable on the vehicles they're selling, and deliver on the price they promise. Overall a crack shot team. read more
