From the warm decor, to the traditional Vietnamese music, professional service, and delicious food We were feeling a bit adventurous so we ordered completely off of recommendations by our server. For appetizers we shared- le-le special appetizer (a sampler dish) For entrees- my Bae had the golden cashew and I had crispy noodle (looked like a birds nest) For desert: banana flip (one of my favorite things in the world now) Overall the food was like nothing we've ever seen before. The good: modern decor, nice ambiance, clean restrooms, live jazz on the weekends. The bad: wait staff was only "ok", pricing was only "ok, and the food was only "ok" (my Thai lemongrass lacked serious flavor and my friend's four-star curry was more like one and a half stars). The ugly: my bubble tea was much, much too sweet, and barely had any boba. Our water glasses weren't filled often and it took forever for them to clear empty plates from the table. A great place in Gig Harbor for Thai/pan Asian food. You can't go wrong with the Pad Thai. We also like the Pad Sei Yew, the Shang Hai noodles and the Tom Som soup. The food tastes very clean and fresh. The depth of flavor is amazing. So many great tastes in each dish. However...go for lunch. Not good. Chicken pad Thai was the worst I have ever had. Did not resemble the taste of pad Thai. Tasted burnt or old oil taste. We told the server after we were done with the meal because he never did a check back until we were done. Then he asked if we wanted it boxed. Are you kidding me? Insert insult to injury. My 4 star panang curry had a good balance of flavors and was loaded with pork, green beans, and onions. My associates were very happy with their choices: the cold noodle salad with fried spring rolls and an asparagus stir fry dish. The portions were plentiful. Nothing shy of AMAZING! I love everything I have ever tried from this place. Bánh Xèo is to die for! My husband and kids are not very adventurous and usually order Pad Thai Or Bulgogi. Stopped in to get my pho fix and was very happy. Had the meatball and sliced beef pho with spring rolls. Pho had a great flavor and the small size was perfect for me. The spring rolls were really good with the fresh herbs, but they weren't rolled correctly so the end was falling out. read more

TERRIBLE! Dinner with my family of 4 went terribly wrong when I found a MISQUOTE..... Yes mosquito I'm my Pho- it was completely whole and to no avail I received a half hearted apology as though it wasn't a big deal. Needless to say I didn't finish my dish..... Did I mention I'm 14 weeks pregnant- just a bit scary to find a dead mosquito in my half eaten dish. I was appalled and disappointed by the managers disingenuous attitude. We ordered bulgogi and Siagon crepe. The crepe was wonderful, and large. The bulgogi was not good. The menu said it was with prime beef. The meat was chewy tough, not tender, not prime, not flavorful as marinated beef should be. I asked the server who said he would ask the cook. I had to ask again and was told that the cook said that beef sometimes gets tough. Bad excuse for cheap meat overcooked. They should have fixed it without me asking, and I should have asked them to, but didn't. read more

I haven't been to LeLe in several years since I lived abroad- but I've come back and I'm a convert. I wasn't a massive fan when they first opened, but I am a big fan of their pho (the broth is made from the bone, yum!) The rare beef is tender and rich and the accoutrements all add to the freshness of the dish. It's a great place to meet friends or colleagues for lunch and the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. read more

Wow, I went to Thailand last year, all I can say is this food is spot on and authentic! They leave the tails on the shrimp (a sign of a quality in Thailand) asides from that, the staff and owners are so kind and pleasant! I will make it a point to come back here! Ordered Pad Thai with chicken for takeout. Tasted fine, except that there was a bunch of tofu chunks in the dish. Admittedly, I wouldn't have been upset if there were chunks of shrimp or beef, but tofu?? Come on... Was that truly an accident (I'll acknowledge that possibility with a rating of 2 stars rather than 1) or was that a shoddy move to throw some cheap filler in a takeout dish? Lele's in Gig Harbor was open to 9 pm which was our savior the other night when everyone else was closed. I really appreciated having the Gluten Free items marked on the menu. The mulled cocktail was AWESOME! Cucumber, jalapenos and tequila etc. The server was also the bartender and he took great pride in making an excellent drink. It turns out he used to own a bar :) We know Asian cuisine well and can say this was at best so-so (Larb and Penang Curry) but we appreciated large servings and generous proportions of veggies. We asked for 3 out of 5 on hotness scale and would have gone up a notch next time. I will likely return to try more items (though for my budget this is expensive though I know $14 for curry is typical everywhere now.) They were eager to close but were still courteous to us and actually we ended up having a great time talking to the Bartender/Server and dishwasher as we finished up (thanks!). read more

I have tried a new dish every time I treat myself to this restaurant. The wait staff have been pleasant and quick with my order and the food has been fantastic. I have never observed the type of experience many of the other reviewers have stated, and I am shocked to read their reviews. I have been dining here monthly since it opened. I am comfortable dining alone here, whereas some restaurant's wait staff treat singles with less attention. I love LeLe's in the Harbor!! I read a couple of other other reviews and was shocked. I have never been to the LeLe's on MLK in Tacoma but am guessing that the rent there is much lower and that is why the prices vary. The happy hour is very reasonable.. The food here is very tasty!! I love Pho and have had it many places around the Sound but I have to say the Vegetable Pho here is the best in the Northwest. They are not shy on the veggies and the broth is low in sodium which is what I prefer, however it does not take away from the flavor. Because I have been here many times I have had the opportunity to try several dishes. Thought I would share in case you are on the fence on what to order. The Tom Yum Soup is very good. They have a few choices of different meet but I think the best is the beef. The server will instruct you on how to prepare it. The service here has always been awesome and they know their menu so can help with picking what you are in the mood for. They do have live music on the weekends too! Being from Seattle I'm used to really good Thai and Vietnamese food available at reasonable prices, but after ordering 3 dishes to share with my husband and an appetizer, I was shocked at a $72 bill, and especially because the food barely resembled Thai food. And it tasted horrible! The restaurant has been for sale for ever, and still no one wants it, go figure. BEST THAI FOOD IN THE HARBOR! Always a very big portion of meat and if you love duck this is the place to get it. I love that they use sturdy takeout containers that don't spill all over the inside of the bag or you're car. The restaurant is always very clean and friendly staff. What is going on with this place? Terrible service. Crazy-high prices. Extra fees for using a credit card. Extra fees for take out. You're told 20 minutes, but then it isn't ready for over an hour because they had run out of spring rolls. Our food was left to sit all that time, meaning it was cold when we got it. Noodles had congealed into a disgusting mass. I agree with another yelper- never order a drink here- the bar hasn't been cleaned in years. Who knows what the kitchen looks like. We went in on a Saturday night after a graduation ceremony. Hungry and ready for some good Thai food. Never been before. Seated ourselves per the sign inside the front door. Maybe 1/3 of tables occupied. No one was eating. Reason became apparent as time went on. Waited 10 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. 10 minutes later, drinks and menu order. One hour later, food started coming out. Only saw waitress twice in over an hour. I ordered beef , got chicken. At that point, we just ate and wanted to get out. Had to chase down someone for bill and take out containers. Food OK, not excellent. Service horrible. Not going back. Plenty of other places to go in this area. read more
