Go eat at this place right now. I am a pretty picky, creature-of-habit kind of eater, so when a new place comes in and doesn't post its menu online, I'm hesitant to go because I don't know if I'll find something I like. Their regular menu has a turkey club, a chicken club, a bunch of salads and some other sandwiches I ignored (see note about me being picky); and they have a soup and a special every day, too. I got the chicken club (and the woman who made my order kindly left the lettuce, tomato and mayo off for me) and fries. The chicken was SUPER fresh and sliced thinly so it fit nicely on my toasty wheat bread. The fries were piping hot and really good. And the salad items were on display and also looked really fresh (I'll be back for the salads!). I will be back and I hope you go, too! It's great to have a local deli to support. read more

Came here on July 28th at around 1pm and ordered a sandwich and a wrap. It took forever for our food to come like 45min. For some reason they thought it was a good idea to make everyone else's food at the same time as ours instead of making it one by one. When we came in we were the only ones in the store. So I'm not sure why it took as long as it did. I ordered a cinnamon role and for some reason they didn't give it to me right there and then. They gave it to me with the rest of the food. The cinnamon role was also stale. And for 30$ including the tip it's over priced. Didn't even fill me up. I don't think I'll be coming back again because of how long it took for just a sandwich and a wrap. read more

Lovely little cafe with excellent service and tasty food. Friend and I actually had the opportunity to sit down in the small seating area which was mostly open except for one other person and allowed for social distancing. Food-wise, both of us got paninis that came with small side salads - me the grilled salmon on ciabatta, and him the pesto chicken on ciabatta. They were both great! I feel like there was a little more heft to the pesto chicken - both in size, but also from the robustness of the tomato sauce and the cheesiness of the mozzarella. However, the lettuce/tomato/red onion that accompanied the salmon panini did not go unappreciated - it felt really light and fresh. I would definitely go back for either, depending on how I felt that day. We also were both offered samples of soup - some spicy beef and rice soup that was honestly bomb af. I was definitely glad to have been offered it as I never would have known to get it without the sample and it was just a $1.99 add-on with the sandwich. Definitely worth!! In total it was about $24 for two people - $10.75 for the salmon panini, $8.75 for the pesto chicken, and $1.99 each for the soup. Aside from that, a woman I believe may have been the owner came around and also offered us a taste of a turmeric/ginger drink. I asked for a small sample, expecting for a tiny cup but she came back with a full small-size order (probably 8-10 oz?) and gave it to us on the house. Very nice! Also I didn't realize until checking Yelp / walking up to the restaurant that the street sign is inaccurate about some of the hours - they are actually open on Sundays from 10 AM - 2 PM (at least from the date of this review). Was really happy to find this out as it will make it easier to make a visit outside regular weekday business hours. Will be coming back! read more

I was looking on Yelp for a place open for breakfast in downtown Silver Spring. The Lemon Slice Cafe didn't have a lot of reviews but it sounded promising. A bonus during Covid is that they offer indoor sit down dining. The staff is very friendly and suggested the Chicken Club Panini. She asked if I wanted it spicy and how much. I admit it's a bold choice for breakfast... but they also offer breakfast sandwiches with eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. Anyway, the panini was perfect and it came with a small salad. First time trying Lemon Slice Cafe, but certainly not my last! I ordered the Ham & Swiss Panini on Ciabatta Roll, and I wasn't sure what to expect. Well, it was so, so good! The mayo, cheese, and ham really blend well together and it's the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I was pleasantly surprised that the panini came with a bag of chips. Lemon Slice is my go to cafe in Montgomery County. Bethlehem, the owner treats everyone so warmly and I love love love her soups. I tried her lemon chicken for the first time and it was amazing! You have to stop by for food but don't forgot to buy extra! I purchased additional cups of soup and her homemade bread for my children's after school snack-every drop was gone (even from my picky eater).
