I really liked this place! Got take out for lunch and it was a simple quick process. I ordered the chipotle chicken wrap to go over the phone. One bummer is parking because they didn't seem to have a parking lot, but there is some street parking and there was a slight alleyway that had two cars. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to park there but I did anyway for a few minutes. I got in and the little cafe was pretty busy with patrons waiting and eating in. It seems like a relatively simple, family/friends owned operation with about 3 workers. They also seemed to use super fresh ingredients and didn't pre-cook stuff until they received the order, which is awesome! They were just making my wrap when I walked in. They give you an enormous wrap (that could be two meals if you could practice portion control), pickled yellow peppers, and pink pickled cabbages. To me they both tasted pickled with the peppers being slightly spicy, and I've never had pickled cabbage that way but it was definitely good! Just thinking about it made my mouth water with the sourness. They also give you a bag of chips which was a pleasant surprise (just standard fried lays). On a whim I also ordered a square of baklava because it looked so good but one star is off because of that, though it had good flavor it was incredibly greasy! Like the little paper underneath was totally soaked and my mouth and fingers were covered in grease after. They had also forgotten a fork and napkins as well. Anyway despite the tiny mishaps, and the parking I can't wait to come back here for lunch. But not here.... this quaint little cafe has a striking modern vibe with clean and fresh looking decor. From their various potted plants and cucumber lemon water to their track lighting and modern art...I was blown away. I just wasn't expecting this from small little cafe tucked behind the main street!!! First glance at the menu had me cringing a bit, that was until I saw the food and our portion sizes! Lately my boyfriend and I were getting disappointed with all the places we had gone to eat... But LEMON ZEST changed it all for us. We've been back a few (way too many) times since we discovered this cute café. The owner has to be one of the most humble people we've ever met and his staff is always so kind. We definitely will continue to dine here and bring our family and friends, so they too can enjoy the yummy experience. I ordered lemonzest to work with a few of my coworkers and we were all very pleased with our lunches! It's hard finding a good place that delivers around us but I think we finally got it. I ordered the Greek salad that comes with two sides, I chose the yogurt and cucumber & hummus. Everything with super delicious and I also got to try the chicken which was so juicy and tasty. What I loved most about the experience was that since we placed a large order, they send us an extra chicken plate on the house, which was very generous! It was one of my clues that this was not a place that "phones it in". Blink and you'll miss it as you drive by. It's tucked in behind a mini-mall, just plunked in there as the residential buildings begin, across the street from Marshall Elementary, no sign. The kebobs were juicy, flavorful, and generous. I loved the sour beef! And my friend's lamb was melt-in-your mouth delish. The spinach & yogurt was thick and creamy with an addicting amount of garlic. Tasty dolma & roasted eggplant, fresh hummus & pita, huge, flavorful falafel that could be eaten like a mini-doughnut, and a perfect, abundant salad. I can't comment on the chicken kebob platter because that was devoured by my other companion before I could grab a bite. Looked fantastic though... We were there for dinner at 6:15pm. We ordered & paid at the counter inside. It took ~30min for the food to arrive. A reasonable amount of time for fresh ingredients to be properly perpared. This is a cafe after all, NOT "fast casual". I'm sure they take phone orders for the lunch rush. And that's what I'll do next time when I swing by for what looks to be excellent wraps & gyros. Can't wait! read more

Damn! Some of the best wraps I've had in a minute. The beef Chipotle wrap was awesome. Tender, juicy, flavorful. All that. Now, you know, I'm a frie monster, and their fries didn't disappoint. The chicken here was very tender, however it felt like there was a lot of grease/butter used to marinate the chicken. The rice was really dry and almost stale tasting. I would go back to get the chicken in a wrap vs a plate perhaps, but everything else was subpar. read more

I literally never write reviews but this place is ridiculous. I would give it one star but because our food was ready quickly so that's a plus. But where do I start? The falafel bowl had 4 tiny little falafel balls and TONS of lettuce. The chunks of lettuce were bigger then the falafel. And to be honest they weren't good. Or maybe they were but the portions were so small my tastebuds couldn't register them. I've never seen a restaurant serve falafel this small. The staff is so friendly and make great suggestions. The portion sizes are huge too! I love the food here. Everything I've ordered so far is fantastic. My only reason for taking away 1 star is because of the poor customer service. I don't know her name, but a tall blonde woman at the register (at the Glendale location) is super rude and standoffish. When you are working at the front of the restaurant and have to interact with customers, the least you can do is greet them or say thank you. This woman does neither. She's really doing a disservice to the owner, who I'm sure is unaware of the issue. Please provide customer service training to your staff so that it does not hurt your business in the long run. People have MANY options for delicious Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food, especially in Glendale. The staff should be grateful for the customers who choose to eat at your establishment. I can't say enough about how pleasantly surprised I was by our delivery last night. Mini kabob place was closed and we decided to give Lemon Zest cafe a try. I'm so glad we did! We ordered the lamb gyro and pickled cabbage. The lamb was juicy and well seasoned, the bread was as soft as a cloud and the lettuce was crisp... there was also this dipping sauce for the fries that had a touch of oregano in it - genius! I found another gem in Glendale. This place rocks. I ordered a pickup and my order was ready before I got there and they were busy busy, how did they manage that. The food is delicious, especially the Chipotle chicken wrap. I had 2 sides one of the was hummus the other one was spinach yogurt deep, and both of the were great. I took a glance at the kitchen and it was sparkling clean. I hope they continue keeping it that way. P.S. The customer service is GREAT, the owner treats you like a family. Way to go buddy. I came here with two friends for dinner recently and we enjoyed our food! Our orders took a while to come out, but the wait was worth it. My lule kabob entree included two minced beef/lamb kabobs, grilled vegetables, pickled radishes and rice. The kabobs had good flavor and was tender, though I thought it was a bit too salty. The grilled vegetables were also tender and seasoned well and the radishes were perfectly sour and crunchy. The only thing I did not like was the huge amount of rice on my plate, though they did offer to include both rice and salad with my entree. Guess I should have taken that offer! :) I also tried some of my friend's chicken kabob, and though there were a few bites that were a touch dry, it was mostly very tender. It was seasoned just right so that you could really taste the delicious chicken. If I am in the area again, I would definitely go back and try their other dishes, including the cannolis. There was a gorgeous stack of cannoli shells on a cake stand that we saw as we walked in, and they looked yummy! read more
