Lemongrass Thai Restaurant - Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Style Over Substance: A Disappointing Thai Experience I really wanted to love Lemongrass. The buzz around this Cobble Hill spot had me excited, and walking in, it's easy to see where their energy went -- [[HIGHLIGHT]]the decor is undeniably attractive and the ambience is carefully curated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately, that's where the effort seems to have stopped. From the moment we sat down, the cracks began to show. The service was mediocre at best, and our party felt uncomfortably rushed throughout the meal -- hardly the relaxed dining experience you'd hope for. To make matters worse, the kitchen got our order wrong and offered absolutely zero acknowledgment or apology for their mistake. That kind of indifference to a paying customer is simply unacceptable. I hate to leave a bad review, unfortunately it was a bad experience I'd prefer others didn't have ti experience. Now, the food itself -- the whole reason you go to a restaurant. Disappointing doesn't quite cover it. The pork belly was so inexplicably lean it could have passed for tenderloin. If you're putting pork belly on the menu, deliver pork belly. The pad see ew suffered from a glaring protein-to-noodle imbalance, leaving you wondering where the substance went. Even the drinks, a relatively low bar to clear, managed to underwhelm. For the prices they're charging, this is simply not acceptable. Cobble Hill deserves better Thai food than this. Save your money. Keep looking.

Lemongrass Brooklyn is a great spot for a fun night out with beautiful presentation and genuinely tasty food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is lovely, with lemon accents throughout and a warm, lively atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was attentive and friendly all night. We started with the watermelon margarita, served in a hollowed out watermelon and garnished with edible flowers, pineapple, and mint. It was as delicious as it was photogenic. The lychee juice was also very refreshing and delightful! The standout of the night was the duck - we ordered the duck bao and duck choo chee (granted I also love duck lol), incredibly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and served in a generous portion that we could barely finish. We also shared the soft shell crab salad and the eggplant basil with crispy pork belly, both well textured and beautifully plated. We ended with the mango sticky rice, a perfect not too heavy way to close out the meal. Highly recommend for a date night or a celebration with friends. Will definitely be back.

This place can be a little bit of a wait so don't be surprised if there is a line! The food her is fantastic I love every dish I ever had and the portions are huge! I love in traditional dishes like green curry they give you the option to have a choice of protein such as crispy pork belly. Definitely do the crispy pork belly you will not be disappointed. The cocktail menu is extensive and delicious. They have certain drinks that are service inside of the fruit which is a fun touch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is cute very island floral inspired and the bathrooms have always been clean, which is a plus in the city![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Had dinner at Lemongrass on Court St in Brooklyn with my little one. Ordered the crab fried rice--on its own it was nothing special, but once I mixed it with the sauce on the side, the flavor really came through. What worked well for me as a parent: I could scoop out a plain portion for my kid first, then mix the sauce into the rest. One dish, two ways. The clam soup was quite savory, no fishy taste, and the clams were tender. The broth had that Thai-style sourness that wakes up your appetite. The shrimp the server brought out was crispy with a creamy sweet glaze--enjoyable to eat. The short rib was tender and well seasoned. Also tried two non-alcoholic drinks--the mulberry one leaned more fruity and tart, while the rose one had a noticeable floral aroma. Neither was overly sweet; both were refreshing. Overall a comfortable meal, the kind of place I'd go back to.

Came here with friends on a busy day and was happy to get seated. The drinks are SO FUN. My friend got the pina colada that comes fully in a pineapple, it was great. I had the shrimp pad thai which was delicious. Great options for vegetarian and gluten free friends. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was during the nyc heat wave and they unfortunately don't/didn't have central AC, so it was toasty, but the vibes made up for it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great spot!

price - $25 including tax and tip food - 4/5 service - 5/5 ambiance - 4/5 I ordered the chicken pad see ew lunch special and it came with spring roll salad, edamame, 2 slices of orange and a complementary drink of the day called sunset lemonade. the food was pretty good considering that the lunch menu price was $15.95 for chicken pad see ew. [[HIGHLIGHT]]the service and ambiance were both amazing as well![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]on the contrary, there was no air conditioner when I went in 100 degrees weather so sitting indoors with only a fan made me feel a bit uncomfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] besides that, I think if you check out the restaurant when it's much cooler, you would definitely have a better experience! definitely check this place out when you get the chance!

Haven't been here in years! But last Sunday I decided to stop in around 8pm to grab a bite. It was so packed when we arrived, I didn't think we were going to get a table but luckily we were able to snag a table right away since it was just 2 of us. The service was good, nothing too spectacular or overly friendly but it was quick and efficient. We had a young lady that was training, so she was being guided by someone else but she did a good job. Drinks: w head the cha-ba and the passion fruit margarita. The cha-ba was a big miss but the passion fruit margarita was great! Food: we had the shrimp roll to start. It came out piping hot and was flavorful and the sweet chili sauce complimented it well. For entrees we had the pad Thai noodle with chicken and the pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp. Both dishes came out hot and fresh. The pineapple fried rice was a big serving and it was very good! The pad Thai serving was more on the smaller side. I wish I would've asked if they could make it spicy because I requested chili oil after to add to it but they didn't have. Spice aside, the flavors were great!

I loved everything about this restaurant! We love Thai food and we're so excited to try this Brooklyn Thai restaurant. The staff were so great and helped us order some amazing dishes. Lemongrass Brooklyn never disappoints in their detailed presentations!!! Their summer cocktails served inside fresh fruit were such a fun touch and felt like we were on vacation. The Watermelon Margarita was refreshing and the Piña Colada was the perfect tropical treat. We started with the Lychee Shrimp and the Thai Grilled Beef salad, both packed with flavor to kick off the meal. For our mains, my favorite order was the Whole Fried Branzino with spicy choo chee curry on the side. My go-to order stole the show as it was crispy, tender, and spicy. The Khao Moo Dang my friends mentioned was both tasty satisfying. The Brooklyn Steak came sizzling and was juicy and cooked perfectly Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert. I came here for dinner with my family. The decor was very colorful and aesthetic. We ordered the BBQ beef ribs, the lemongrass pork chop, and the char siu and crab over dry egg noodles. All the dishes tasted really sweet for some reason especially the char siu. The portions were large though. Service was friendly and fast. I think this place seems to be focused more on being trendy than having good food so if you care more about atmosphere, this is the place for you.

They sure can pack a lot of people into a small space! So don't go here if you don't like crowds! Service was super quick though. I appreciate how quickly everything was brought out. Drinks were fine, a little under sweetened. Food was good, small portions than typical for Thai, but you could tell these dishes were made with higher quality ingredients (the fried rice didn't taste so oily)! Great spot for date night!

We've been to Lemongrass Brooklyn a few times now, and every time we go, the atmosphere is what sticks with me the most. The inside is honestly beautiful. They have these decorations hanging from the ceiling, and they switch things up for the holidays, so it always feels warm and fun. There's usually good music playing too, which adds to the whole vibe. It's almost always busy, no matter when you show up. We've even gone at 9 p.m. thinking it would be quiet, and it was still packed. The staff is always really friendly and efficient, especially considering how much they have going on. Because it's such a lively spot, little things do slip through the cracks sometimes. There was one time when our order never made it to the kitchen and we had to reorder after about twenty minutes, and another time when my shrimp fried rice came out as pork instead. None of it was a huge deal, and they were genuinely apologetic both times, but it's something to keep in mind if you're going in with a tight schedule. As for the food, I really enjoy it. It's not the most traditional Thai food I've ever had, and it's definitely not very spicy, but the flavors are good and the portions are generous. I'm always impressed by the freshness and quality of the meat and vegetables. The shrimp, the grilled pork, the veggies, everything always tastes fresh and well cooked, and they give you plenty of protein and vegetables so your dish never feels like it's mostly rice or noodles. Some of my go to dishes are the pineapple fried rice, the panang curry, the basil stir fry, and the shrimp woonseen. The shrimp in that one are huge and really flavorful. Honestly, you can't go wrong with much on the menu. Overall, it's a great spot with good food, great vibes, and really kind people. If you're not in a rush, I definitely recommend checking it out, and it's worth making a reservation since it fills up fast.

The decor, the food, the flavors, the service, the drinks....so basically everything was top notch...came to lemongrass to celebrate alot of accomplishments and left lemongrass fully satisfied and in good spirits. Everything was tasty, flavorful and eye-catching. The server did a great job handling a large group and the chefs did a great job sending out all meals in a timely manner. Everything was hot..sweet..spicy and ohh so good. Those who were vegan enjoyed..only ate fish enjoyed....It was a smorgasbord of different dishes and there was no complaints. The space is intimate but the decor makes up for it..its a very instagrammable space great for date night,girls nite or just out hanging with family

One of the best Thai restaurants I've been too! I had the Thai Fried Rice with shrimp and it was delicious and so flavorful. I planned to save some and take it home but that didn't happen. The drinks were good as well and they were 2 for 1. The service here is great. They are very friendly and they made sure to come and check my table to see if we needed anything. Omg terrible service. Food was fine, drinks were nice but over priced. From the moment we ( a group of 4) arrived for lunch there was attitude. No one there is particularly friendly but whatever. The host chose to seat us next to the door (which is fine but), we asked to be seated closer to the back where it's more warmer since its cold out, more space because the original seating was tight (because its tucked into the corner) and another group was there. More importantly my friend is very pregnant. The host tried to convince us to sit where she chose lmbo. For some reason there needed to be a quick staff meeting before we were approved to be seated where we asked. Anyway we placed our orders with our unpleasant waitress. Then received our food after people who arrived after us, even though pad thai is usually quick. Again, that's fine because it happens sometimes. But the waitress was rude, she looked at my pregnant friend like an oddball for requesting club soda with lychee (her mocktail choice). Initially it seemed that was going to be an issue (yes putting bubbly water and two pieces of fruit in a glass) but she got her drink. Here's the kicker. We paid separately and tipped separately. I was dissatisfied with the service but opted to pay 20% tip...the hostess brought our bill AND ASKED FOR MORE TIP!!! Who does that?! You were lucky if you got a quarter!! They are usually unfriendly and I never complained before. it's been a while since I ate here but this review is necessary. Everything is a problem for the staff I'd be nervous to ask for a new fork if mine fell. I'd probably be told to go wash it myself. Do better Lemongrass. read more

I went here last weekend and I really enjoyed the food. They have indoor and outdoor seating, I decided to dine outdoors since the weather was nice. The service was good, I received my food pretty quickly. They also serve pinacoladas in a pineapple with fruits, which was really cute and refreshing. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch here today! The staff was so friendly and welcoming and I was immediately seated. I ordered the black bean dish and my friend ordered the spicy Chili Basil Lunch Special. This is the second time we went here and I truly like the place. What I love the most is their entree: they have a wide variety of options: curry, noodle, fried rice, and grilled meats. All the grilled meats served with rice that you can choose from jasmine rice, sticky rice, and brown rice. I strongly recommended the Thai Fried Rice!!!! Guys, it will not disappoint you because the rice itself is mixed with pineapple so while enjoying the rice, you get a sweet taste of pineapple along w/ the duck, which makes it a great blend. In addition, its appearance is great in detail in a huge pineapple boat, excellent for IG pictures. However, in terms of dessert, their menu lack of options. For a Thai restaurant, it needs to develop more Thai desserts but not stuck in the safe options like chocolate lava cake with ice cream, which we can get from any American restaurant. TIPS: Most of the appetizers are pre-made so you couldn't change what's inside. Don't order them if you don't eat any of the ingredients in them. read more

i would like to start off by saying i'm beyond disappointed , an extremely offended with my experience this evening . my boyfriend and i wanted outside dining being that the weather was so nice . we googled outside dining. this location was 1 of the top 3 within distance and had great reviews, therefore we decided to go . upon arrival i was super excited as it was such a cute , cozy , trendy little spot with outside dining . As my boyfriend and started walking toward the outside host area a security guard openrd the front door for us , so we walked inside . we were immediately approched and stated table for 2 for outside dining . we were told outside dining was closed . i was upset but the place was so nice i said ok we can be seated inside . about 15-20 mins a man walked in and asked for a table for , 4 outside dining. as this point i saw the same woman who told me it was closed begin looking outside . I didn't want to jump to conclusions so I kindly waited. she then went and seated his party. at this point, I was furious. i called her over to my table and said i thought outside dining was closed . she then made up a poor excuse and tried to seat my outside . i truly dislike playing the race card , but my boyfriend and i are black and the man that was seated was white . she apologized several times which I did not want an apology. I just wanted my bill so I could leave as I was truly offended. i will be calling to speak to a manager as no one should ever have to feel this way read more

So first things first, once we were seated we got ice cold water. Considering today was hot and we'd been walking for a while it was really refreshing. We ended up ordering the fried red snapper with spicy Thai chil garlic sauce, which came with veggies and jasmine rice, and noodle mao with shrimp. The presentation of the snapper was different from most places that I've seen as they had it propped up and curled. The fish was nice and crispy and the sauce was a great accompaniment. The noodles were good as well more on the mild side of flavor town but the fresh crunchy veggies were great combined. All in all 10 out of 10 would come back AND would recommend! read more

I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. A Flavor journey To Thailand in Lemongrass Brooklyn. Step into Lemongrass Brooklyn and you will find yourself instantly transported to the heart of Thailand. My recent visit to this hidden gem left me completely enamored and compelled to share my delightful experience. I couldn't resist trying the satay chicken, and it certainly did not disappoint. The marination was exceptional, the sauce come with it was so good. Next we order the Fried Shrimp Dumpling . What truly set these Fried dumpling was the ingenious combination of textures. The outside boasted the perfect crunch, while the inside held a tender and juicy shrimp filling that won a pleasure to savor. Moving on to the main entrees. The whole Red Snapper ( Deep Fried ) with Thai Chili Garlic Sauce. The fish was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The Thai Garlic sauce had just the right balance of heat, sweetness and tanginess , making each bite a burst of delighful flavors. Next up was from Lemongrass Grill Special Menu. We order Oceans Four. It comes with Jumbo shrimp, squid , scallop and big mussel with coconut milk , basil leaves, string bean, pineapples and pepper in penang curry sauce. It was so yummy. Overall, the service and food quality were highly unsatisfactory. I would give them one star out of a hundred. Regarding the food, we ordered one appetizer and three dishes. While the appetizer was not entirely disappointing, the dishes were severely lacking in quality. Two pine apple fried rices and Pad see ew were ordered. The pine apple fried rice was not well-balanced, and the portion size was excessive without any discernible benefit. The Pad see ew was accompanied by an unpleasant odor emanating from the pork used in the dish, which caused us significant discomfort. As a result, we left most of the dishes and declined to take food boxes for leftovers. Despite these circumstances, we were not inquired about the quality of the dishes. The service was equally disappointing. While we understood that the restaurant should accommodate our entire family of four in one small table for multiple reservations, the servers failed to adequately manage our table. When serving our dishes, they placed them on a small table, without taking any care of limited space unfriendly. We had to make specific arrangements to ensure that our food was accommodated. Given these unfortunate experiences, I felt compelled to withhold a service tip. Surprisingly, our bill included a 20% service charge, which was not disclosed to us by our server during our initial order. When I expressed my deep disappointment, I received a response that lacked any genuine apology. There were several individuals in line when I left, and I almost expressed my concern that they were jeopardizing their last day of the year. I've passed by this place a few times before, thinking to myself how nice the place looked, but haven't gotten the chance until now . They have quite a large menu with a good variety of Thai dishes as well as interesting cocktails. Some dishes that we tried were the fried whole Snapper (fish) w/ the Choo chee curry, a seafood pineapple fried rice, Thai Country Style fried dumplings, and the Thai style steak salad. My favorite was the fried fish because it was so nicely presented, and the fish was nice and crispy (just like the ones I've had in Thailand). The fried dumplings were also very yummy . For dessert, we had their newly updated version of mango sticky rice as well as this new banana pudding dessert. Their mango sticky rice was amazing! It comes with housemade mango ice cream (with mango chunks in it) over mango chunks and then paired with fresh, sweet, sticky rice . Tbh, I think it was perfect. For the banana pudding, I'm not sure if it's limited-time or anything (I visited around Valentines day), but it had this fun, heart-shaped chocolate on top paired with a rock candy lollipop to break the heart shell . That was quite fun. Other than food, we also tried their cocktails. We got their Valentines day special drink : Scarlett Kiss (which looked very cute!), and the Ploy pairin drink. We started with two cocktails the Piña Colada served in a pineapple and the Tong Rumpai. Both drinks were strong, refreshing, and beautifully presented with tropical fruit and orchids. For appetizers, we ordered the Crab Rangoon and Curry Puffs, and they were both absolutely delicious. Perfectly crispy, flavorful, and well-seasoned. For our entrées, we shared the Chicken Fried Rice served in a pineapple and the Pad See Ew with shrimp both dishes were flavorful and satisfying, with generous portions and beautiful presentation. To finish the night, we had the Mango Sticky Rice, which they surprised us with a little birthday candle and a sweet song for my best friend. As you walk through the doors you enter a beautiful floral oasis with neon lighting and amazing murals The atmosphere is so inviting and the menu is amazing with a fantastic range of appetizers, salads, soups, bao, grill and curry dishes as well as fantastic drinks including fantastic cocktails We started with the watermelon margarita and the coconut mojito which were so refreshing and beautifully presented For appetizers we had the perfectly crispy pork belly bao and the delicious duck salad and for mains we had the Tom Yum Goong creamy with mushroom and jumbo shrimp and the BBQ beef short ribs with teriyaki sauce Everything was SO so delicious - such sophisticated, complex and authentic flavors with perfectly cooked meats and fresh vegetables And even though we were veritably full we couldn't resist dessert of their vanilla green tea fried cheesecake and chocolate lava cake Needless to say, it was phenomenal. We started with drinks - Morakot and Coconut Mojito. I have a big sweet tooth so I loved my Coconut Mojito. Morakot has a strong taste. We then had appetizers - Satay Chicken and Lemon Grass Chicken Wing. The satay sauce was amazing and chicken was really soft. For entrees, we got Rack of Lamb and Tom Yum Goong Creamy. The lamb was really tender. The tom yum soop was amazing!! I'm a big soup person and the taste was just right, a mix of sweet and sour. For dessert, we got the classic Mango Sticky Rice and it was so good. Mango was just right and the rice was just perfect.
