Food was excellent!!! Appetizers came out quick and hot. Calamari was tender and the dipping sauce was sweet and spicy. Mini spring rolls were crispy with a hot, juicy center. Meat on a stick was great. Curry was creamy, with coconut milk and had a bit of heat, but the people I was with didn't like heat so it was perfect for them. Pad Thai was perfect. Honestly--it's standard Thai fare, it's exactly what you think you're going to get. We ordered the calamari and the green curry; the food took a while to come out, and I've had better calamari elsewhere. The serving of the green curry was quite large, and I was able to take some of it to go, but it's also shareable between two. Price was standard, maybe a little on the pricier end. If you are craving Thai food, this place won't exactly satisfy that need, but it'll whet it enough to keep you going... to the next Thai restaurant you can find. read more

This is my 3rd time here and it has gotten better each time. Food is fresh and delicious. Can get it made spicy. Big portions and fair pricing. We've had the fresh spring rolls which were fantastic. The banana leaf rice chicken appetizer thing which came with an amazing peanut based dipping sauce. Tropical feat special- large portion and so so fresh and good. The food is great, but I've had too many poor service experiences to give this place a decent review at this time. I'm sure if you dine in you'll be just fine, but please do not order from this restaurant via grubhub. At this point I'm convinced that they ignore grubhub orders. I've had this experience twice, and this order from Lemonleaf will be my last. A few weeks ago I placed an order and waited until about a half hour after the ETA before I called the restaurant. I was told they had an emergency and had to close early and that they would contact grubhub on my behalf to refund the order. When I didn't see any indication this had happened, I contacted grubhub to make sure and they advised me that nobody had contacted them. The Grubhub agent then called the restaurant and was told the order was already on its way. It arrived about a half hour after that. This final time I called the restaurant about 10 minutes after the ETA and was told "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... it's almost on the way." What does that even mean? The "uhhhhhh" did not inspire confidence. At the time of this writing it is now 45 minutes past the ETA, 35 minutes since my phone call, and 2 hours after I placed my order and I still have not received my delivery. If you are going to give lemonleaf your business, I recommend dining in. If you order delivery it may never arrive. read more

Have been eating here for about 8 years. Food was great until about 6 months ago. Last 4 times we got takeout at least one of the entrees was thrown out. The last straw was when the whole order had to be discarded. Beef and chicken was very tough and asparagus was like eating bamboo. Haven't been back since. Food at this place is really good. And they were pretty good with service also when I was dining in. However, do not order delivery by online when unless you are not able to walk out of your house. I have waited for my food more than an hour so I called them, and what they are saying is that I have ordered 3 lunch foods and it will take 10-15 more minutes. I love this place! This restaurant was a staple for me during the pandemic when everything was shut down, and I'm looking forward to actually eating there in person soon. I really like the green beans, the eggplant, the stir-fried tofu, and the drunken noodles (with tofu instead of chicken). My boyfriend gets the chicken satay pretty regularly. I have gotten take out from here a few times over he yes and the food is good, I will note that the flavors are great and everything I tried (other than the shumai) were really good. The shumai had an overly fishy taste. A little too much so it wasn't my favorite. I ate in here recently and my issues are not so much with the food but the atmosphere. The place was super bright, like there was no ambiance...just straight up fluorescent lights. Not a fan. I assume it's a family business which I can fully appreciate but when the kids are horsing around 10 feet from where I am trying to have a convo it's a little much. I go to dinner to avoid those interruptions. I feel like they prob do most their biz in take out. I will definitely order from them again, but take out only. read more

We had green curry, massaman curry, coconut pineapple fried rice, pad see ew and pad Thai. Would recommend all of these dishes highly! And the prices are so reasonable. Green tea is free. This was my first time at Lemonleaf. I am a huge fan of Thai food and though I am giving this a 5 star review today, this was not the best Thai food I have ever had, but it was close. My wife and I had their Springroll appetizer - it was okay - too big for my liking, the balance of veggies and wrapper was not balanced well. For our main course we had Pad Thai, chicken and shrimp. This dish was very good, a little bit bland compared to other Pad Thais I have had, it isn't heavy on the peanut sauce. If you are a Thai food fan, this is a good place that is close by, which is another reason for my 5 star review, not many Thai places by me. For dessert we had their Coconut Cake, which was not cake. Honestly I don't know what it was but it was DELICIOUS. Overall, I am glad I finally tried Lemonleaf and will definitely be going back. read more

They left a flier in my apartment door, and since my wife and I enjoy Thai food, we decided to get a delivery and see how things went. We ordered (for us) those things that we felt were staples - if they couldn't get 'em right, then nothing else would be good :) Since their flier, and other reviewers here specifically mentioned that the food was not very spicy, we asked that everything be made with a "good bit of heat". Tom Kha Gai soup (Coconut milk based) was, in my opinion, one of the best I've been served in quite a while. The flavor was excellent, and there was lots of chicken and vegetables in it - I would have been happy just eating that by the quart ! We ordered shrimp dumplings (the traditional thai ones) and shu mai. Both were ok, but nothing to write home about. Gai Pad Bai Graprow - Spicy Basil Chicken - VERY flavorful, and went great with coconut rice that we ordered extra. Pad Thai was a little on the mild side - we got it with shrimp - and there were a dozen medium sized ones in the container - a good serving. Finally, the Masamum curry (a personal favorite dish of mine) was also, very good. It had heat to it, but not so much as to be offensive. There was a LOT of tender beef, which was nice because this dish is often overloaded with potatoes. Not disappointed here at all. The upshot? For delivery, I'll order from here again, and look forward to it. Nice alternative to Chinese delivery. I'm not sure I'd choose it as a sit-down place (don't even know what it looks like) because my standards go UP a lot in that case - but for a delivery or pick-up, it far exceeded our expectations! read more

I feel like Lemonleaf has gotten a little bit of a raw deal so far in these reviews. It's definitely not the best Thai food, but like someone else said, it is probably the best close to the Port Jeff area. I've never sat down to eat here, but have order take out several times, and apart from one lunch time meal that was bland, everything tasted good. However, I don't think the food is nearly as spicy as it could/should be, but then again I love spicy food, and I usually douse my food in chili sauce when I get home! I think this restaurant is probably 3.5 star, but seeing as its close, and I will definitely be getting quick Thai food here I gave it 4. I think if I wanted something a little bit better I would go to Sabai Thai Bistro, but I usually don't feel like driving that far. The one major gripe I have about it is they don't have Pad Kee Mao on the menu!!!! It's my favorite Thai dish! read more

I have been coming to this place for years. I'd drive all the way from Holbrook, meet my BFF, order a bottle of wine, everything on the left side of the menu and spend the afternoon savoring, catching up, enjoying a leisurely day off as the place filled up, slowed down, etc. just like when you're in Europe or overseas, they're not in a hurry to get you out and get another seat filled as many places are. The food is truly delicious, made to your liking and if you don't like it, they'll make you something else with a gracious smile, no make wrongs. Been here at least three times and everything I have had was good. My last outing included the Basil Duck which had plenty of duck included. I wish there were someway to preserve the crispy skin but the meat was good nevertheless. It comes with heaps of stir-fried veggies in a brown sauce. It's listed as a spicy dish but if you like spice have them dial it up a notch. My meal before this was the Lemongrass Pork Chops. Also very good and lots of food. This restaurant was very hit or miss with it's dishes. The Calamari wasn't too chewy, which is good, but it also wasn't very flavorful. The Pad Ki Mao had a ketchupy taste (which doesn't belong in that dish), the noodles were overcooked, and it wasn't spicy. Besides these two dishes, we also got Panang curry and a vegetable dish, both were standard fare. Nothing too special or terrible. The one dish that was better than average was the thin pork chops. Very tender and very flavorful. However, the dish tasted more Vietnamese than Thai. Overall, this restaurant was fine, but offered nothing to go out of your way to eat. read more

This place shouldn't list themselves under "Thai cuisine". The food items are basically just Chinese take out menu items reinvented to constitute as "Thai food". It is obvious that the people who have given this place high ratings have never experienced authentic Thai cuisine. The spring rolls are basically oily egg rolls with less dough and the pineapple fried rice has no flavor to it all since it is just Chinese take out fried rice with pineapple. The pad Thai only hints at what real pad Thai should taste like and looks nothing like real pad Thai; it is a dark, shrunken, overcooked mess. Everything was greasy, greasy, GREASY. Thai noodles and fried rice dishes are usually lightly stir-fried dishes that don't involve gallons of oil in every dish and the spring rolls are supposed to be light, flaky, and look slightly toasted, not DEEP-FRIED. To add insult to injury, this place has a $25 minimum delivery amount and charges you $2 for it. If you are looking to eat imitation Thai food because you are just that desperate and this is the only place open in a 20 mile radius, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, spend your money at different type of restaurant or just save your money until you get into NYC. read more

I am surprised with the high ratings here. This "thai" food is essentially chinese food served with thai spices. We got it delivered, and it came fast and hot. However, the delivery man conveniently had no change. We ordered take-out, and I got beef satay and basil chicken max spiciness. The basil chicken was indeed spicy as I requested, but it tasted and looked more like chinese food. It had a thick and sickenly sweet sauce that I would expect in americanized chinese cashew chicken. Proper basil chicken is served with a thin watery sauce that is not sweet at all. It was also very oily. The satay beef was very greasy. Most people reviewing this place probably have not had Thai food before, and if I had never had thai food before I would think this is way better than chinese food and good. My favorite place for take out! They are excellent at catering to whatever you like, whether it be substitutions of particular ingredients or spiciness level (you CAN get food that isn't spicy if you'd like). I, however, adore spicy foods, and they do truly deliver on both flavor and heat. They also do actually literally deliver as well, and travel quite far compared to most places around the area, so if you don't feel like leaving home just pick up the phone and see if they'll come to you. Prices are quite good for the portion sizes and the quality of food. It's very difficult to say what the best things are here; as in my opinion Thai is a cuisine that is more so than others largely based on personal preference - my suggestion would be to try a few different items to find the flavors you love. I've never actually had a bad meal here, but I do like some items better than others (although once again personal choice here). The things I order most: Pad See Ew (with beef), Mee Ga Ti, Pad Ruom Mit (comes with lots of veggies), Pad Thai is good, plus Tom Kha Gai and Tom Yum Goong are very flavorful soups. The coconut rice is delicious and the brown rice is great too. Also don't forget dessert, it's incredibly tasty and not your typical dessert fare! read more

Just recently went to Lemonleaf and loved it! It's pretty much a nice place all around, the service was good and the food was delicious. We shared the chicken & veggie dumplings and Tom Kha Gai (spicy soup with coconut milk) for appetizers, and for dinner I ordered Pad See Ew, which was amazing... (it's kind of similar to Beef Chow Fun if you've ever ordered that from a Chinese restaurant). I didn't get to try anything for dessert because I was too full (although I really wanted to try their coconut sticky rice with mango) =P.
