Trusting someone with your nails is very important. I have done acrylic for nearly 15 years now, and I am loyal to the nail techs I have found ovet the years! Since moving to Little Italy in 2018, I am so grateful to find Lena Nails! Kris and Kathy are the best at acrylics. Kris is so patient, but fast in providing great service. She always knows how random I love my nail colors and she even adds her own style and I love it. Kathy is great at shaping your nails to your liking! They are amazing! Great prices, and best of all great customer service. The ladies who do pedicures also give great leg and feet massages!! I recommend them to anyone even if you don't live in this area! read more

New to the area and in search of a nail shop. I attempted to come to this place 2 times . First time I wanted a soak off and pedicure. I was told they don't have time . It was early around 12pm , person did not offer to come back nor another time to come. I assumed oh maybe they close early and asked, nope was told they don't close early just busy. I let it go because they were pretty full. Second time around , I asked for a fill . Was told the same thing once again but instead the reason was they don't do long nails. Never in my life have I been to a shop where they don't do long nails. That all being said I give them a low review for Poor communication and what shop does not do acrylic long nails . read more

I paid $20 (plus $5 tip) to have my gel-x nails removed from here. I didn't notice it when I left, but the next day, I realized that rather than actually remove the gel-x, they had filed it down super thinly and left a layer of plastic over all of my nails. I ripped off some of it, but because it's been filed down so much, it's not even possible to get some of it off. I know for certain that there is still a layer of plastic over my nails because I can't even clip them with a normal clipper right now because they're so thick. This was an incredibly disappointing experience. I could have ripped my nails off for free and avoided the damage that will inevitably caused by this thin layer of plastic that remains on all my nails. I am not sure if this nail salon offers gel-x services, but I told them as soon as I walked in that my nails were gel-x and I wish they had simply told me they didn't know how to remove them because now I'm stuck in a terrible situation and out $25. read more

Lena Nails is right in my neighborhood and they are always accommodating. I usually call ahead since they tend to be pretty busy in the afternoons. But whenever I go, I always leave with a beautiful gel manicure and pedicure. Their prices are definitely worth the value and great compared to other nail salons in the area. read more

I would definitely recommend Lena Nails to anyone! They did a great job with my gel pedicure and dip manicure. She followed a picture I brought in and did it even better than the picture showed! On top of that I had to rush out for work so I didn't have time to finish my pedicure, so she had me come in before they opened the next day to finish it. I've been getting my nails done here for over a year and a half. Everyone is so nice and professional. My nails last almost 3 weeks with gel and acrylic. Kris does an amazing job every single time. I'm in San Diego for a month and needed a mani pedi badly! I had to do some work also so I chose a neighborhood that would have good coffee and a nail salon - Little Italy! I walked into Lena Nails today without an appointment at 1PM. It was packed and I was not expecting the salon to be this busy, but the ladies at the front desk told me that wait would be 10 minutes to 30 minute wait. I waited - I ain't got sheeeet to do. They saw me in 15 minutes. CONs: They only use OPI nail polish and the selection is limited to about 20-35 different bottles. I'm from NYC and most nail salons have a larger selection of colors and types of nail polishes to choose from. Secondly, the nail dryer is basically a joke. I went under it and literally asked where the air was? Could only find it in the middle and I worried I'd have to spend a long time there with outdated magazines on Whitney Houston :( #shade Thirdly, a manicure is supposed to be a relaxing time where you can *feel* pampered with care. Typically a massage comes with the manicure either on your shoulders or with your hands. My manicurist lathered up my arms and instead of massaging them, giving me some good relaxation time - she just kind of rubbed in the lotion in. I felt like there was no point to this because I can put lotion on my body myself. Like, what is you doin' gurl?! No extra tip for you! PROs: The service is fantastic, they are really really detailed with getting every dead skin cell off your cuticles. My hands look CLEAN. Secondly - and I think most importantly - they took THEIR TIME. This is a GREAT thing! I am so used to going through the assembly line of nail salons that get me in and out under an hour with my polish chipping in under 3 days. My nails look amazing and I am so happy with them. Stupid picture of me holding an ice cream cone after getting my nails done attached *laughing emoji* Thirdly, even though I came through with no reservation they did every thing they could to accommodate me. No attitude at all, just a simple - can you please wait? I gladly did and I am glad I did. Monies - $35 for manicure and a pedicure (No massage or any kind - just polish) $50 for gel manicure and pedicure $70 for gel manicure and gel pedicure (not judging, but ya nasty) Overall - 4 stars for being a GOOD business! Wish I had this place back in NYC. read more

I stumbled upon Lena Nails when I lived in Little Italy. At first glance this place does not look like anything special however these ladies do an amazing job. I am an addict to gel manicures. Every 2-3 weeks I am getting my nails done and when I lived in the neighborhood, this was the place I went to. I've had my nails done by most of the ladies and have walked out happy each time. They have a huge selection of colors and are up to the latest nail trends. My nails always lasted at least two weeks when done at Lena. The girls do a great manicure; each cuticle trimmed and nails perfectly shaped. There are massage spa chairs for pedicures. The pedicures have lasted me a month and are well priced. Plus, no awkward up-selling here. Most of the ladies are young and very personable. Chatting lively with each other and the customers. It's a fun environment while getting prettified. It's a great place to get pampered. Do call ahead and make an appointment so you don't wait. I've made same day appointments with ease. There is parking out front but it is metered. A downfall but it's Little Italy after all. read more

We needed a quick repair of one cracked nail - mid day on a Saturday. The didn't seem that happy to see us - one chair was open but likely waiting for an appointment. They were willing to say come back in a half hour, but no smiles about that. We have no idea what their appointment book looked like so no context to interpret all that. Sadly we just didn't feel welcomed. We checked Yelp and walked two blocks to Italy Nails. read more

Not only did my manicurist speak English, but she made for entertaining company to boot! My nails look incredible (acrylic pink and whites,) and I'm going back for a Pedi tomorrow. The first time I went, it took awhile to get the full set done, but I figured it was because we were chatting. ...As it turns out, it always takes a LONG time. Kathy does a GREAT job - seriously, impeccable nails and she even does a buff and shine instead of clear gel which is AWESOME. However, an hour to get a fill is a bit excessive - if you have the time, go for it, but if you're in a hurry, this definitely won't fit in your schedule. Pricing wasn't too bad - 59 for a full pink/white set with gel and a spa Pedi. read more

I work in Little Italy so after work I decided to stop by and see if I can get my nails done, they just looked at me up and down (because of my work clothes/clean clothes but not "formal"), the answer was rude, discriminatory and racist. I just turned around to leave the place and they started talking in their language while they look at me. I feel very upset. read more

I received a referral from a client of mine because her nails always look fantastic. I ended up calling, Lena, nails, and booking with Nancy. She is so gentle and greets you with a smile. I have been to her three times now, and every time I leave happy with my nails. In all honesty, I have gone to a dozen places in mid San Diego and every single place I go to, I might leave happy, but then my gel chips off within a couple of days. Every time I've seen Nancy, my nails have never chipped, and I am hard on my hands because I am an aesthetician. I love that I can depend on getting a good quality gel mani! I removed my dip polish here, and the person who helped me was on her phone the entire time. She left the acetone/aluminum combo on my nails for over ten minutes and I had to ask her to get off her phone to check whether it had been too long. She didn't make any eye contact and just waved her hand at me to indicate what I should do (e.g., wash my hands). I have been here a few times and the service has mostly been poor. read more

Unfortunately, I walked 30 minutes to go to this nail salon. It did they take walk ins so I went. Upon my arrival, the woman was rude in asking what I was there for. Then she proceeded to ask if I had an appointment and I asked if they took walk ins like it said online. She said it will be a wait and I ask how long. All of this in a very respectful tone. She looked around and said they were all booked so clearly she just didn't want to help me. I have time and was willing to wait. Definitely won't come back to this place. read more

No matter what design, color combination, or random inspiration photo I bring her, she executes it flawlessly every single time. I've attached a few photos of some of the sets she's done for me over the past year because her work really speaks for itself. One thing that always impresses me is how healthy my natural nails have stayed. These are my real nails, and I only get gel manicures, so I can't personally speak to acrylics or some of the other nail services they offer. What I can say is that my nails consistently look amazing, last well, and receive compliments all the time. I've also had pedicures here and they've always done a great job. I don't have one specific technician I regularly see for those, but I've never had a bad experience

With the expensive costs it's simply not worth it. The place is very cute and staff is very kind. Overall will not get any manicures here in future but pedicures sure.

When I agreed to just a manicure the response was a sarcastic "thank you." First impressions are the reveal and this one said everything. If this is how repeat customers are treated over the phone it's clear long term business isn't a priority. They've lost a customer and I won't be recommending this place to anyone.

When my nail technician completed my manicure, she announced, "same!" as if she declared out-loud my powdered pearlescent nails are now magically transformed into the requested nude chrome color. I wish they would've told me upfront that this cannot be done. I would not request for anything out of the basic mani pedi here.

they are still my favorite salon. i moved away for 6 months, and when i came back, my feet were a wreck from not taking care of them. i cant afford to pay $45 every 2 weeks.. yes, $45 for a freakin pedicure in a chair that wont recline, just vibrated, and looked like its been through a war. honestly, i dont care about a fancy pedicure with a salt scrub, mud mask, and a bunch of bull. i just need my toe nails trimmed, feet scrubbed, and my toes painted. after a shower, the effects of all that fancy stuff wears off. if i want soft legs, i will moisturize them thank you very much. i like to pay $21 for my pedi that last, and extra $5 for the callus treatment, have them put my sandals before they paint and be on my way out. yes, i like to be in, and out. i dont like spending hours in a salon, i have things to do, people to see, bills to pay. i dont live the desperate housewife life style to sit in a salon for hours. and by the way, upgrades to the salon are amazing! best massage chairs in a salon! and for all the germaphobes, they have the new pipeless whirpool system. im happy to be back with these girls here. im never leaving them again!! read more

Lena Nails is a zero frills salon, but they do a reliably good job, which is what matters most to me. They have limited space and it's small and not spa-like in the slightest since everything is kind of awkwardly fit in to the small room, but again, if you're just looking for an affordable, quality nail service, you won't be bothered by this. The first time we went, we got pedis but the hot water had been shut off at some point during the day for maintenance so our water was barely warm, but they did a good job and apologized profusely (we weren't mad to begin with, but appreciated all the same). I've since returned several times, and Kathy does a particularly good job. They also have some fun gel polishes (chrome and cat eye to name a couple). The only downsides are with the lack of easy parking, which I can't really blame them personally for, and that none of the technicians do a particular good massage as they seem rushed to get the next person in. Other than that, I have no complaints since my nails always look great when I leave. read more

I've been going to Nancy for a little over a year now, and she's hands down the best nail tech I've ever had! Every time I come in, I usually bring a photo of what I'm looking for, and she always brings it to life perfectly. Her attention to detail is amazing, and she's so creative with designs. I always get a dip manicure and gel pedicure, and I get compliments on my nails all the time. The nails last, the shape is always spot on, and she makes sure everything looks clean and polished. If you're looking for a nail tech who's consistent, reliable, and seriously skilled at what she does, I can't recommend Nancy enough! read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!! DIRTY AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES!!! I went to this salon for a manicure and pedicure. It was my first time there. I have NEVER had such a terrible experience with the end result. My manicure look like a 5 year old painted them on me and my french pedicure is visibly uneven. (It truly looks like someone did it in the dark!!) Two different people worked on me and they both did a bad job. I'm very disappointed in my visit. I must say that the employees there are nice- but their work is horrible!! Needless to say- I'm never going back to this place. read more

If you are looking for a nail salon, look elsewhere. This place is like an oil change station.....get them in and out as fast as possible. I got a spa pedicure, and the girl rushed through the job so fast I hardly had a chance to enjoy the massaging chair. Their prices are reasonable, but you definitely get what you pay for at this place. They also charge a fee to use your credit card.....tacky!! read more

I frequent this nail salon often, mostly because it is close to where I live. However, they do have great prices and do a pretty good job on manicures and pedicures. They recently renovated so the massage chairs are new and comfy. I was annoyed when I went to pay by credit card and they had a surcharge of $1. I don't like to be nickel and dimed, hence the four stars instead of five. read more

Did a gel manicure and spa manicure here. Lan is very nice and did great job!! Manicure was done perfectly - didn't chip or peel for over 2 weeks!! The manicurist was polite but careless. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about efficiency but she nicked BOTH of my thumbs during the cuticle trim, which is incredibly rare for me. If she had slowed down this probably would not have happened. In addition, she didn't fully cover my nails properly with the polish so the tips are darker and look splotchy overall. Also, she did not go down far enough to cuticle or even down the sides of the nails with polish, so it looks like I got them done a week ago and not 5 hours ago. On the plus side, they did do a good job on the pedicure. Total was around $115, including tip. Unfortunately, I will be going back to Kensington Nails (where Kate and her team do an amazing job every single time, highly recommend!) to fix these. I'd rather do the drive than have a sloppy, low-quality manicure with cuts on my cuticles.

Cherron's very nice and friendly, and I liked how she did things. She had me do this sugar scrub on my hands which made my hands feel suuuper soft. I ended up with a salmon pink. Wish I coulda done the french tip instead but it was $7 extra and I was feeling cheap yesterday lol.
