I had a tasty "H1" sandwich here, which was turkey on a roll with cranberry sauce, gravy and stuffing. It was good, but could have had a little more on it. Service: The service was annoying - no real line setup, two confusing counter spots, and a tight layout (though that's to be expected I suppose). The music was way too loud to hear them call out my order when it was ready, and they only called it out ONCE. So now I need to get to the front of the line and inquire if my sandwich is ready, or risk it getting cold? Bah. This is the Lenwich closest to my office and I go a couple of times a week. Everytime I go, the order is accurate, fresh, tasty and prepared fast. My personal favorites is an egg and cheese on brioche in the morning or a tuna sandwich for lunch. I love the enormous salad bar choices they have and that they do chopped salads. The food is delicious and for that they get two stars. Unfortunately, the people who are behind the service counter have terrible attitudes. I can understand the neighborhood has a large population of elderly shoppers but that is no excuse for these young girls to constantly be rude to the customers and say mean things. Every morning when I come in I said good morning and hello and I am met with silence and the same when I say thank you and have a good day. REAL TIME LUNCH REVIEW! I've been passing this option by because of the range of ratings. But, once the firm started paying, I thought, "what the hay?!" SOOOOO glad I did! Nice little sandwich chain right across the street from Equinox. Everything here is made fresh daily, and you can really taste it. Judging from what I saw all the other patrons eating & ordering, grilled chicken and chicken cutlets are the popular favorites here. I myself decided to follow the crowd today and ordered the grilled chicken avocado with added mozzarella. It was a really good & healthy sandwich, in addition to the chick/avoc/mozza there was also spinach, arugula and red peppers. It was filling but also didn't leave me feeling fat or bloated afterward. Definitely wasn't cheap for a sandwich, but pretty good. They had a lot of options, for sure. I opted for the Jimmy T, which was a chicken cutlet with melted mozzarella cheese, grilled onion, sweet peppers and honey mustard. Mmmmm. Quite good. They had a full selection of yogurt muffins, which sounded like a must check out breakfast option. It wasn't until ordering that I saw their "Steam Table" options. Fresh oven roasted turkey, Meat loaf, Fresh corned beef brisket, Grilled chicken breast, Herb chicken, or Grilled salmon... mmmmm. And possibility to have mac as a side. I've been going to Lenny's since I was a preteen in the UWS and always loved their deli selections. Going to this Lenny's keep reminding me how horrible the surrounding delis and Au Bon Pain's are. I remember getting a turkey sandwich here and thinking "my gawd, I can taste the turkey and the spicy mustard.... ON RYE BREAD!". The thing about this place (not too sure if this is standardized for all Lenny's) is that they have a system during lunch where you order your food thru some ticket persion who hands you the receipt. Then you take that receipt and pay at the front. I guess this ensures that the lines run smoothly. But I skip all of that and just wait until after 1:30pm to get my sandwiches. I sometimes get coffee here and love it, love it, love it. Now this is what coffee should taste like, none of that fake fanschy starbucks. AND get this - it only costs a dollar. Un Dolar!! One of many Lenwichs isn't the area. It's on 54th and 2nd so it's more residential and I found it less crowded than those in business areas. Standard pricing. I usually stop in for breakfast and order the egg white delight. Really a healthy option and for lunch they have the best sandwiches around. I did stop in once and there was a very erratic and crazy man bothering the customers and what surprised me the most was that there was no manager to come and escort him out so this went on for longer than needed and was kind of upsetting to everyone in the shop. I'm not certain if it was overpriced or not because it was my first meal in NYC, but for what we got, I felt like it was overpriced. I really don't like cold sandwiches and I had forgotten to ask to have my sandwich toasted. So when I reached my American sandwich on 7 grain wheat bread, I prepared to bite into disappoint. To my shock, disappoint was the last feeling that came upon me. The sandwich was THE BEST cold sandwich I'd ever had. The meat is so juicy and the bread isn't as dry as it is in most places. Why is Lenny's listed under "beauty and spa"? I came here a few times to order sandwiches. I wouldn't recommend getting salmon here- my friend had salmon and I had a bite, but it was only average for me. The sandwiches however, are really worth your money. They're pretty big. I had the official "Lenwich" Sandwich minus the coleslaw. Such a great burger. I've never been to one of these restaurants before, but I always wanted to! There will definitely be another trip. Online ordering off their website is stupidly difficult. Its horrendously laid out and often rejects the order for no reasons. It shouldn't take four tries to get an order through. I shouldn't have to use a service (and pay more) so that it goes through. Their food is bodega sandwiches and other fare. It's good, but not worth the hassle.
