I went at 500 pm on Saturday. The meatballs looked so good! They "looked" delicious with lots of vegetables. The vegetables were good but the meatballs were hard as rock. They had very little sauce - so hard and dry. Even microwaving them was no help! I was starving and not able to walk back. I did call them but all they did was apologize. Their food is abundance. The breakfast specials were terrific. I also ordered the roast beef hero, no cheese, no mayo, mustard lettuce tomatoes cooked to perfection. The roast beef very fresh also got the Neapolitan pizza slices fantastic. This place is located between first Avenue and FDR service Road on 20th St. it is worth going to you will be pleasantly surprised the service is fun. I live 7 blocks from Lenz's yet had never ordered. That changed today. I ordered the Turkey Wrap with Avocado, Roasted Red Peppers, Lettuce & Tomato. They gave me Russian Dressing on the side...which is a must. Lenz's prices are also low, and appreciated. This wrap is huge...enough for two people. For $3.00 extra are the fries. I ordered them lite and that's exactly how they came. The person who answers the phone is very friendly, even though it's obviously very busy. My order was delivered in 25 minutes, well below the predicted 45-60 minute window. Their delivery pro was so nice and courteous...and very appreciative of the more than appropriate tip, which is well-deserved. read more

So I occasionally stop here to grab an egg sandwich since its along my route to Bklyn in the mornings. The food is fine, but I'm just wondering - the guy behind the counter making the egg sandwiches, he wears his mask below his nose, and wears one glove - which happens to be the hand he uses to hold the utensils, and no glove on the hand he uses to handle the food. So it makes me wonder a couple of things - 1. Whats the use of a mask OR a glove. And 2. How sanitary is everything else being made in the kitchen out of view? During these trying times, I would like to think everyone's safety is paramount, even more so the staff, let alone the customers. I've had an ok experience here (mixed feelings), the food isn't the greatest, but it gets the job done while being the closest deli in the neighborhood of Stuytown. I always get a bagel TOASTED with cream cheese. However, the last time I came here, they didn't toast it and when I asked they said "well you didn't ask" (in a rude tone with I don't give a F about you look). So yea, maybe I shouldn't assume (but I never had to ask before, they would usually ask me)...that's no way to talk to a customer.... Sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich -My usual if I don't get a bagel -I suggest asking for hot sauce it you like spicy, just to give it some juice since the buns are sometimes on the dry side. -They are generous in terms of the price to sandwich ratio, but I wouldn't say it is the top notch breakfast sandwich, but it is the most worth it in terms of price compared to the other things they sell here. Typical NY Deli. Closeby to home, so its convenient and open pretty late. Recently tried their pizza, and I've gotta say, its not bad at all. I prefer a reheated slice to a fresh pie from here. Tonight I tried the cheesesteak. Again, not bad at all - the cook pulled out deli roast beef and I was puzzled at first, but it tastes like a decent chipped beef cheesesteak. The bread was good and soft too, I'm glad they didn't toast it which I've seen in some delis. The guy behind the counter insisted the sandwich was $8.50 , when on the big menu board above his head it reads $8.00. He kept mumbling something and said, ok I'll take off $.50... Thanks? For breakfast I occasionally order delivery to the office for egg sandwiches or muffins, the service is speedy and the delivery guys are sweet. Usually for lunch if I grab a sandwich I'll take the walk over and order. Be aware that lunch time it becomes busy at points since there is the ConEd yard and lots of construction workers within the apartment complexes whom all love their sandwiches! You won't be disappointed. It's quick, friendly service, and decent food on the go. They just recently remodeled inside and for the summer they put seats outside the store front. read more

But it's the service that's pretty sub-standard. These people just can't get their shit together. Don't come here unless you live near Ave C in Stuytown. 1.) Low Quality. It doesn't have the nice/healthy quality like Gracefully or Bruno's (both on 1st Ave, real close). 2.) Microwave. Idk what they were doing microwaving shit for my BLT. 3.) Every order is always wrong. More than half the time they get something wrong with my order. They say "Yeah yeah yeah, I got it!" and then just fuck it up. They are actually $5.95 and $6.49, respectively. Lenz never called me to inform me about the price mistake = Minus one star. Delivery time from other restaurants located further than Lenz take 20 to 30 minutes while Lenz took over 50 minutes = Minus one star. A pet peeve of mine is asking me to sign without providing a pen. Lenz and New Ashiya are notorious for this = Minus one star. My peppers steak platter is suppose to come with rice and buttered roll. My buttered roll was probably eaten by the deliverer = Minus one star. Lenz, you need to fix these issues, pronto. I'm not ordering from you in a year and I mean it. read more

Whoever usually answers the phone there is always rude. I called numerous times for deliveries and the people working there don't seem to know their products and are too lazy to go look. I asked for a certain product and they told me they don't sell it even though I saw it earlier that day, right near the front counter. When you ask them to look they give you an attitude. Decent place. It's local which is nice. The beer is expensive. If your missing one grocery store item or just need some basic stuff come here if your too lazy to take a longer walk. They have pizza, sandwiches, and subs in the back and the guys are all nice there. The pizza is really wide lol which is interesting but it's a pretty good slice.
