I had an 8:30am confirmed appointment to bring my car in for service. When checking in I was told my car wouldn't be looked at for another 24-48 hours. If I have an appointment that was accepted why would I need to wait and 1-2 days before even diagnosed? Don't accept appointment if you can't look at (at least that day). I gave B.Estes Chevy Service another try after my first bad experience. After waiting 2 hours for an oil change AGAIN, I will never go back (middle of the day - made an appt. - not rush hour). Not only was the wait excruciating but the price changed when I went to pay. My oil change coupon was $15, but was told $35 because of the "special oil" and paid $45 (I just wanted to get out of there! I was too angry to argue!). By the way "Jack" at the checkout counter just a tip, no one like the up eye look when they are describing a problem. Not once did you say 'we are sorry for your wait.' You do not think I saw my car's service number arrive to you and instead of helping me you shuffled papers and tapped away on the computer until I approached you. Good deal on the oil change, but the constant solicitations for expensive and unnecessary repairs quickly became annoying, and later seemingly deceptive. I was presented with no less than 4 different attempts to up sell to borderline unnecessary repairs. First I was offered new wiper blades for $15 each. Then I was presented with a $900 estimate for tires. (I've never paid more than $100 per tire). This was somewhat, understandable, I do need new tires. Then I was told that I needed a new oil drain plug for $14.99. I looked on line, it only costs $5. Again, understandable, I know there is a mark up. But the tech seemed surprised when I wanted to see the old part. He claimed the threads were becoming stripped, they didn't look stripped to me, I said no. Then the last straw was an estimate of $65 to replace LICENSE PLATE BULBS! He tried to scare me by saying I could get pulled over and given a $125 ticket. Again, I said no. So, an hour later I get home and check the bulbs, THEY BOTH WORK FINE! I don't what the hell they're trying to do over there, but obviously those guys work on commission. Do not buy a car or get serviced here. Bought a 2013 jeep patriot from these shady people. It has 27,000 miles on it. This car is a lemon. Car can't go over 100 miles without the transmission temp. light coming on. When it does the the car stalls out and we have to pull over for 20-30 mins to cool down. It does it every time we take a trip. Even from Indy to Chicago(did it twice). Did it 9 times on way to Florida. A car with this many miles should be able to drive around the world with no problems. When I took it to them to get it fixed they couldn't find any issues and said it was fine. Have taken it in twice. Also tried to charge me even though I have full warranty. Refused to pay. They did not care at all I spent 20,000$ on a lemon. This problem has still not been fixed. read more

This dealership is a joke. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I brought my car in because it started leaking water inside. I just brought it to get that checked. Stacey said it would be 2 hours of diagnostics. I said ok and that was the end of it. 5 HOURS later she calls me and said it would be $595 to fix it and the electrical problems from the leak. I told her I couldn't afford it right now and would be coming to pick it up. I get there and just to get my car back with nothing fixed was gonna cost me $220!! Stacey failed to tell me that diagnostics would cost $104 an hour. An hour of it was to check the check engine light which I never asked them to do! The manager refused to refund me for the diagnostic cost of the check engine light. I hate Chevrolets. The location on 96th St in Carmel IN is not close to where I live or the place where I was getting my car repaired and they sold me the wrong touch up paint for my vehicle. They would not discount the new paint nor did they even offer an apology for the inconvenience of having to come back and waist time and gas. I wanted to express my complete displeasure and dissatisfaction with this dealership. At first, I had a wonderful experience and was happy with my vehicle purchase. However, as the first month has gone on, I have NO loan information, NO payment information, NO title information, and NO new tags. As I am sure you are aware, driving a vehicle that is not registered is a crime in Indiana. In order obtain said registration; one must have information from the bank loan/dealer. THIS HAS STILL NOT COME IN OVER 30 DAYS. The sales and finance staff are aware of this issue and not only refuse to supply new tags, but have apparently caused the mess in the first place. As it has been explained to me, the staff lost documents needed by the loan company, failed to request anther copy from me, and have since failed to submit the appropriate documents to the loan company. In fact, this has only come to light as I have contacted both my sales person and the finance department MULTIPLE times questioning where my loan documents and title information are. As the dealership explains it, it is now illegal for them to issue me new temporary tags. I am left to wonder, what am I supposed to do with a vehicle I CANNOT DRIVE LEGALLY? I cannot recommend this dealer to friends and family or anyone for that matter. Women be very careful! I think being female with no ring on my finger makes me a target. I purchased a coupon from Living Social for an oil change. The first clue that I was in for a bad experience was their need to charge an extra $10 for "a different oil". That hasn't happened in the 6 years I have owned my car. I also needed a new drain plug which was going to be an extra $10 - $20 (online they are $3.99 to $9.08). Then they needed an hour to an hour and a half...again for an oil change. The service tech came back to tell me that the drain plug thread were stripped and the oil pan had to be replaced. $850! Glaring at the service tech, I called my usual mechanic (who doesn't do oil changes) and he said to have them rethread the plug and he would find someone else for me to see. $143 later....for an oil change. I wish I had looked at the other reviews before I bought the coupon and went to Bill Estes. read more

Very underwhelmed by my initial Estes experience. Kevin my service manager was very good, timely and effective but all else was poor! It started with scheduling. The website was very good but did not advise that the shop was backed up for three days! Upon arriving at the scheduled time I inquired of the reception about how busy the day and service mechanics were. I thought he was kidding when he shared that they were two to three days behind. They weren't joking and this should be shared up front when scheduling! Was advised that they might be able to get to the car two days later as opposed to the three initially shared. I was planning to take the car home and return two or three days later but was then advised that I would have to restart the queue. Really? I found the prices to be significantly higher than what I had experienced at the Ford dealership that was only a few miles away. The Ford dealership (also have an older Expedition and a newer Fusion) returns my car same day nearly regardless of the severity of service. Ford and their dealer have a program rewarding my loyalty, was advised at Estes that GM and/or Estes doesn't with the exception of Oil Changes. Was equally disappointed in Gates Chevrolet in Martinsville where only two weeks prior the car had over $1,000 of service (including a new battery) and a purported diagnostic check which failed to catch that the Alternator was bad. This destroyed the brand new battery which was only two weeks old and cost me another $175 to replace. This is absolutely unacceptable - how do they miss this unless they don't care or aren't performing the service charged? Was incredibly unimpressed with both Estes and Gates and am evaluating look elsewhere for service on my Corvette. Had been pondering buying a new C7 in 2016 or 2017. Have the cash for a C7 and want to stay American but not with service at this cost, lack of timeliness and lack of transparency. Have several Vette buddies in our club and will be sharing my experience with them to ascertain their Estes experiences and my service options. read more

I made an appointment for 10 AM to get an oil change and maintenance inspection on my trailblazer. Jordan was my service consultant; he was very friendly and went through the car head to toe (all of which was over my head, I know nothing about cars). I had 3 additional issues that I wanted inspected; he said the price $125 twice. That afternoon another consultant called me to say that the recommended work would cost $4700. I denied that work and said my husband would call him soon to discuss. Husband called; no answer, left a message. Around 5PM I uber over assuming it's ready since they won't return my call. Nope, it won't be ready until tomorrow. Uber home. Never was I told that the car would be kept overnight Call Jordan the next morning. No answer. Call at 1PM, left a voicemail inquiring about the status of my car. Call again at 2, 3, and 4 with no answer. Finally ask to get transferred to a different consultant.. "Oh yeah, your car is ready the last time I saw it. Come on over and get it." 5PM, as I'm picking up my husband so we can go pick it up, Jordan calls "Sorry, I got your message right as I was going on my lunch break and just now got a chance to call you back. You can pick it up and your total will be $1200." Dude I left that message 4 hours ago. We meet with Jordan and a long list of services they did without my authorization. In fact, it even said on some things that they were "customer requested." And Jordan went on to tell me that he said in our first encounter that it would be $1200. Um NO WAY. Even my husband was like dude she would never agree to $1200 of work without talking to me. As we were waiting for Jordan to talk to his manager, another customer comes up to us to ask if we come here often. Nope, first and last time. He said same for him, he always has issues here. Meanwhile, another customer at the cashier is arguing about a charge for something he was told would be complimentary. Service dept fell way below my expectations. Purchased my new Silverado there in Jan of 2015 and started taking my Camaro and Equinox there as well. Had an issue with the Equinox and they charged me $129 to check the oil. Said they did a "diagnostic" check on the vehicle and that was the reason for the charge - asked for the printout and amazingly, it was not available.......... I live out of state and needed to stop for an oil change at a Chevrolet dealership. I called ahead and asked if I could squeeze in on a Friday afternoon. The service advisor, Ryan, was very friendly and told me to bring it in and that they would work to squeeze me in their schedule that same day. I was promptly greeted by their service advisor Sean, who was very polite and professional. The basic oil service entire rotation did take a little longer than expected but well within reason. I've been ripped off several times from the B-burg Ford dealer over the years, tried to buy a car from the Michigan Road dealership and was treated like they could care less about whether they would sell a car or not, and I have numerous friends in Lebanon who won't go back since Estes recently bought out the Lebanon Chevrolet dealership for all the above reasons, and let's not forget the dealer hidden fees too at each location. And, Estes's latest two commercials where he talks about earning trust and talks to his son about trust are complete insults to the buying public's intelligence in Indianapolis. One Phrase describes this dealership. "Bait and Switch". I called up their sales rep Teressa and ask about the $149/mo Malibu special they had going on. She told me that all I needed was a pay-stub and that there were no catches or anything else besides that. I then made an appointment for 5:30 and drove myself and my three children the 26 miles from my house in Pendleton to the dealership on the West side. Upon arrival they told me they could get me in with a new Equinox or Malibu for around $149/mo no issue. Once everything was said and done Pascale came out with an offer of $350/mo. I asked why it was so high and all he could tell me was that I did not have an Employee Pricing due to not having a family member that worked/worked for GM. I told him that Teressa never said anything about that on the phone and to re-look at this offer. He came back and gave me another offer of $250/mo and I told him no and my wife and I walked away. I spoke with Sean upon leaving and he told me they advertise the sale as a GM Empolyee Pricing and I then informed him his commercial on the radio did NOT say anything about said issue. On top of this, they then tried to tell me they were only going to give me a measly $800 for my 2002 V6 Ford Escape which I laughed in his face at as KBB was much higher than this for both individual and trade in. I cannot tell you not to do business with them, but be aware that they are not honest people and that you should not go with their first price they offer if you do as he dropped his initial price over $100 a month. read more

On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, I contacted Bill Estes Chevrolet to inquire about a vehicle listed on CarGurus advertised as a "Great Deal". The vehicle in question was a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD, internet price was listed at $26,872. I called the dealership to begin the negotiation process. The first question the salesperson asked me was about my trade. Over the phone the salesman valued my trade using KBB at a minimum of $18,000 sight unseen as I would be traveling from Alabama to Indiana for this purchase. The salesman then looked up the Chevrolet mentioned above in their sales inventory. The salesman believed the price of the vehicle to be $30,159. I corrected him and told him that on their website and CarGurus it was listed at $26,872. His next words were "Holy .... it is your lucky day". Next the salesman had to go get authorization from his manager to create a purchase order as I am pre-approved and have financing secured through USAA to make the purchase. I did not hear back from him for several hours nor did I receive the purchase order. I continued to monitor the dealer's website, admiring the vehicle I was going to purchase when I noticed the price had been increased to $32,995. I called the salesman and asked what the delay was. I was then informed that my trade-in was now only worth $12,000 ($32,000 (new internet price)-$26,000(original advertised price) = $6,000; $18,000(original trade-in value)-$12,000(trade-in value after I asked for purchase order) =$6,000). I find it interesting that the increase in vehicle price is equivalent to the devaluation of my trade-in. The dealership had no intention of honoring the $26,872 advertised price. They did however, have every intention of recouping the $6,000 mistake by instantly devaluing my trade. I have still not received the purchase order that I was promised by the salesman after a wait of more than forty-eight hours. During this time I was assured multiple times by the salesman that the email containing the purchase order was being sent. Please use caution when dealing with this company as they employ deceitful tactics to garner interest in their products and when mistakes (I believe the internet price of $26,872 to be a mistake) are made on their end they will not honor their advertised prices, but would rather the customer pay for their mistakes by devaluing their trade-ins. The salesman I dealt with did all in his power to make things right however, the Used Car Sales Manager, Wayne Rogers, had no such interest. It is amusing that their website touts "respect and integrity with our customers and our staff...we understand the importance of a good reputation". I question the integrity of Bill Estes Chevrolet, Inc., Indianapolis, IN and would advise others to shop elsewhere as this dealership has no desire to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship. You will not receive the advertised price that brought you in to their dealership if it means you, the customer, will be the one coming out ahead. As I complete this review, Bill Estes Chevrolet, Inc., Indianapolis, IN still has the vehicle listed at $26,872. May the buyer beware and shop elsewhere. read more

This is the third occurrence where your dealership says their was a problem with one of our vehicles, when we take it to another Chevrolet dealership your competitor they stated their was nothing wrong and you guys are just trying to get money out of us. In addition I was not given our coupon when I did return I had to wait over 15 minutes for someone to come out and actually honor the coupon you sent us, even then they acted like I "bothering them" In addition the oil life monitor was not reset we got an email from Onstar that we needed a oil change, which meant we had to drive back to your dealership and get it reset. If you actually did what people paid you for instead of trying to gouge customers into paying for services they do not need that might actually work too. I bought a car from them, and the experience was pretty good until I learned I was shammed. I am an out of state buyer and I made sure to ask them multiple times about taxes. My Salesman BO DEMIR, assured me via text it was all taken care of. We agreed to 23800 OTD, Which in the car world means Out the DOOR. Nothing else..... I told them multiple times I need to know about these taxes and they assured it was taken care of.... This allowed me to put money down since I budgeted that in... So after putting that money down and purchasing the car. The Title office now says I owe them 1500 in taxes and my salesman BO, now is pushing me off Troy OWENS who told BO that that problem would be taken care of, and now I got off the phone and he says its my issue.. The service department at this dealership could not figure out how to fix a squeak In our engine after eight maddening trips, some lasting two weeks or more. They seem to have absolutely no idea how to repair vehicles and had to be told each time, only after we had researched the issue how to fix the repair, but they still could not fix it. The icing on the cake was when a technician crashed our car into a tree causing more than $10,000 worth of damage. (To add to a previous poster's response about a tech breaking off a part of his car, yeah, they did that to us too during one of our visits and then denied it, of course!) When I took my car the last time, they did not service my car on time....I dropped off my car at 8 am and was finally "ready" at 7 pm and on top of that they did not check a problem I wanted them to look at and they left the glove compartment on the floor of the copilot and did not put it back... Also, their waiting area is just bad. I complained and the Manager got back with me and he came to my office the following day and reinstalled the glove compartment...So at least he was good. I had my car serviced back in April 2015 by the 96th st location in Indianapolis, In. My specific issues were that my car's engine light was on, it was misfiring and when I turned left, there was a creaking noise. After the diagnostic, I was told that my computer system wasn't working properly and that it was sending mixed/wrong signals to my engine which is what was causing the engine light to stay on and the misfiring. I was then told that I needed a tire rod for the creaking noise and that the cost would be $1200. I asked repeatedly if they were sure this was the problem. Not only was I told that they were sure that was the problem, I was told after it was fixed that they ran another diagnostic on the computer afterwards, they weren't getting any bad readings and that all was well. A week after the svc., the same issues started again. I called and they said to bring it back in. However, it has been nearly impossible to get back there due to some life issues. Which is the reason I took my car when I did because I knew it was going to be next to impossible for me to get my car fixed any other time. Fast forward to today 10/20/2015. I take my car in because for one it needs a tune up and an oil change plus the issues that I bought it in for the first time. I was called by Shavon (not sure about the spelling but it's a guy). For starters, he wasn't listening to what I had to say. He was very matter of fact about everything. He said that my catalytic converter needed to be replaced which was the reason my engine light was coming on which would cost $2000. Then he recommended some other things that didn't even address the misfiring and the creaking noise (which again is the 2nd part of the reason I was bringing it back in). I tried to explain my position again but again, he wasn't listening so I told him I'd call back. I had my husband call back. Your operation keeps trying to make a point of, "well there's something else causing the problem" and that it's been 6 months since they serviced it. Ok, let's go with, "something else is causing the problem". Then why did I spend $1200 on my computer which I was told was the reason for my engine light and misfiring and that the tire rod was replaced? Somebody please explain this to me! So what if there's another problem causing the issue! That may very well be the case. But the fact still stands that I brought my car in for the same issue 6 months ago, was told that they found the issues, fixed them, checked to make sure the issues were resolved and was charged $1200 for a fixed issue. I call within a week of the first fix, you claim you don't have a record of it. Ok, let's go with "you don't have a record of a call". So do you mean to tell me that I pay you $1200 to fix something, I continue to have the same issue but because you don't have a record of it, my complaint is irrelevant? So again I ask, if I paid $1200 to have an issue fixed and it's not fixed and you all are telling me that it's something else causing the problem, then what did I pay $1200 for and why do I have to pay again to have an issue fixed that I was told was fixed the first time? read more

Kevin Herhalt was the Service Advisor that took care of me from the get-go. I needed suspension work on my Hummer H3. He was admirably friendly and professional. He made sure I understood what needed to be done and when it would be done. He went out of his way to make sure we were on the same page and that I was taken care of. They were very busy so it was not fast, even with my appointment. However, the staff was polite and responsive and the complementary beverages were a plus. I received unsatisfactory service on 4/20/12 from one of you're service advisers. He was very unpleasant to me and seemed to have an attitude with me for no reason. He could not answer questions I had in reference to work Bill Estes Chevrolet performed on my car in the past, and could not give me clear answers whether warranties were still in effect. I was spoken to as if I did not have an education. In addition I had scheduled a vacation day from my job to have a recall fixed on my car. When I arrived I was also told that I would have to wait 2-3 hours for the recall repair(no fault of my own). I then requested a loaner car until they finished so I could run errands on my scheduled vacation day and was told no, we cannot do that, only if I paid $35.00 for the day. I thought this was pretty unfair considering I was having a recall performed. I do not wish to continue my business at their facility and I would definitely recommend finding another place to take your car for repairs. Do not got here for service work. I went to a them because I thought a dealer would stand by their work, but a couple weeks ago I went in for a routine oild change and they told me my coolant needed flushed (they always find things that need done I have discovered). Less than a dozen times driving it.. and it acted up. I brought it in immediately (they told me it was safe to drive, it wasn't). Now there is a coolant leak that has ruined half my engine, and they won't fix thier mistake. They actually told me that they don't warantee thier work. I'm leaving a 1 star review because even though I live in Los Angeles, I use my parents' Xfinity account to watch Pacers games...and therefore am forced to see the Bill Estes Automotive commercial where Bill and his son (grandson?) have a "candid" conversation about why customers hate the car buying process and how their company is different. You've seen the one. Bill overacts and goes from an emotional 0 to 60 in seconds, while the other stares blankly across the room trying to read his sincerity from cue cards. They both do these scripted hand gestures to illustrate how "genuine" their sentiments are. It's cringeworthy. I've never met either guy. I've never purchased a car from Bill Estes (insert car make here). However, if I had to put my money on it, I'd bet Bill is a conniving and cold businessman who has to put on a front to convince that he really cares about treating the customer well.
