Concluded a vacation week with dinner here and clearly saved the best for last. Beautiful interior with varied seating options. The food was amazing and every dish in our group of four (appetizers, entrees, desserts) was excellent. Specialty cocktails paired nicely with the menu and the wine list offered plenty of options by the glass. Service level was terrific as well across the board- parking to host to wait staff. Had a great family dinner here tonight, and I was very impressed overall! The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food was creative and flavorful. I had the burrata ravioli with pea tendrils and Parmesan cream, and could've eaten 3 servings of this meal it was divine. I also had some of the mashed potatoes and the side broccolini with garlic confit and both of those were delectable. We ended the meal with a few desserts--a blood orange and raspberry sorbet which was delicious, a lemon blueberry crème brûlée (to die for) and a slice of cheesecake which was just the right amount of sweet. While all dishes were delicious some members of the group felt that portions were slightly smaller than desired, but all in all I would definitely recommend this restaurant whether it's an intimate date night or a fun group dinner. They seem to have ample bar seating as well and a private parking lot to the side. read more

Loved our experience from the moment we walked in! You walk right into the entryway and behind that is the bar accentuated with beautiful green plants and great lighting! You can also see the pizza oven from the entryway! We sat in the room to the right and Brian was our server! He greeted us, got us some water and then took our drink order! The drinks were chilled perfectly and yummy! There were lots of things on the menu that looked good -- too many to try in one visit! We had the burrata salad to start and they brought a perfect bread plate with cheese sticks, homemade bread, salted butter and white bean spread - all fresh and enjoyable! For dinner, I had the spaghetti and clams and my husband had the veal strozzapreti. The clams were fresh and the sauce was light and delicious. The veal strozzapreti was in a rich, delicious red sauce and the pasta was cooked perfectly. We each had dessert - cheesecake that was not too sweet and gelato (coconut & pistachio) both excellent. We absolutely loved the vibe, and the food & drinks was all delicious! As washashores from Jersey - we are thrilled to have an excellent Italian restaurant so close! Our first time here. Ambience is amazing. Very intimate and cozy. The food was good, not as great as I had hoped. The Caesar salad was just okay. Romaine lettuce was not cut, but served in whole pieces and the dressing had no flavor. The pork chop was very thick and parts of it were almost raw. Wishing this lovely restaurant every continued success! We had a lovely meal here and were very glad we tried it. The service is very good, this team knocked it out of the park. The food is delicious. There wasn't a kids menu but they were very accommodating to my 7 year old. He gave the food a 10 out of 10! My family tried cocktails, wine, appetizers, pasta, entrees, and desert. The scallops appetizer is a MUST! Sweet, charred perfectly, sitting on a bed of creamy lentils and we ate every bite. My hubby had the pasta with Marsala mushrooms and hand rolled pasta and veal sauce. So rich and satisfying. I had the haddock Milanese and it was one of my favorite haddock dishes ever. My daughter had the lobster risotto and it was chock full of lobster and came with a half tail of grilled lobster which I think was very generous. My 7 year old had the spaghetti with garlic and olive oil with a side of shrimp cocktail and he couldn't stop eating it. He also ate every bit of the arancini appetizer and he won't eat arancini usually. Listen, it's hard to find fine dining restaurants that are good to kids, yes my kids are foodies, but what was most important to me was how kind everyone was to us even though I brought little ones, it's means a lot. read more

Ended our annual Cape vacation with an early dinner here. What a wonderful experience- easily one of the best meals I've had in three decades of vacationing on Cape Cod. Manhattan cocktail made for a delightful start. Homemade brioche with olive tapenade and salted butter hit the spot while we awaited our apps. Steak tartar, salt cod cakes and arancini were a hit with the table, including my 6 and 9 year old daughters. Brick chicken entree was perfect, the girls loved their homemade pasta dishes, and my husband was wild about his shrimp pasta. We finished with desserts: affogato and gelato made for a very tasty ending to our meal. Service was friendly and unpretentious. Environment is upscale but relaxed. One of the best dining experiences we've had on Cape. Beautiful atmosphere, fabulous service and incredible food and drinks. When something as basic as complimentary bread causes moans of pleasure you know it's going to be a good meal. Then menu changes seasonally but highlights included the zucchini and goat cheese crostini, the delectable hand made pasta and the chicken "under a brick". From start to finish, our Leonessa experience was superb. Parking was easy. We were immediately seated at our reservation time. Server was prompt, congenial, humorous and helpful. He knew the menu and answered questions precisely. Food was served promptly, just after plating. Presentation on all plates was stunning. Ingredients were superior. Flavor profiles were perfectly balanced. Everything was cooked to perfection. We had the pork chop, salmon and haddock. We shared the chocolate pot de crème and the cheesecake. Food was nice, they were accommodating to children but the mandatory valet parking for parking your car 20 ft away was a dealbreaker. The guys moved the seat and mirrors (fine) but didn't try to readjust back. I could have just walked over to my car especially because the parking lot wasn't full at all and tip when they were struggling to find my key and we were standing outside cold with the kids. Had heard great reactions to this new location in Yarmouth Port, MA. Valletta parking was much appreciated. The interior was a fresh contemporary feeling of country Tuscan. The barcwas welcoming and at the heart of the restaurant. Dining flanks the bar but in separate rooms. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and fun. Menu imaginative, fresh and creative. I went with three friends to celebrate a birthday. We ordered drinks right away, but were visiting a bit because we hadn't seen each other in a few months. We wanted to order a couple starters, so we could have more time with the menu but the server recommended putting everything in at once,. She returned to our table and seemed a little annoyed ("Sigh...I'll come back.") that weren't ready, so we felt pressure to order, which detracted from the experience, for sure. And then the entrees came out really quickly before we were even finished with the starters! This was at 530 on a weeknight, not 7pm on a Saturday, so we thought it would be a bit more relaxing. The food was good, but expensive. This was my third time dining there and this was the worst experience, so maybe an anomaly. Only one word is necesary to describe our first-time dining experience last night at Leonessa (43 Main St.-6A-Yarmouth Port): EXCEPTIONAL. I would describe the vibe of the restaurant, which includes a separate bar area, as casual and elegant. It was comfortable and quiet enough to enjoy a conversation. Brian, our waitperson, was attentive, fully informed about the menu, and quite personable. At a time when so many restaurants in the area seems to have staff shortages, resulting in complaints from diners (and reviewers on this site), Leonessa seems to have found the formula for doing this part of the fine dining experience extremely well. We also had the pleasure of being visited twice during the evening by co-owner and front of the house manager Taylor Amara to check on our dining experience. This is something I saw her doing with all the tables during the evening in our part of the restaurant and added an element of charm and intimacy to the experience. Then there was the food--each dish beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. A bread basket of homemade brioche rolls and crispy piece of foccacia for dipping in a tasty tomato hummus started the meal. We followed this with lightly fried and perfectly crisp and tender calamari. This, a dish, which many restaurants struggle to do well. Leonessa's version, which included fried slices of hot cherry peppers and two dipping sauces, was exquisite. We have not yet been to think of a place anywhere we've ever dined when we've had better. My wife selected the crispy veal scallopine as her main and I enjoyed the Atlantic haddock Milianese. I tasted both. The veal was indeed crispy on the outside but melt-in your mouth tender on the inside, no knife necessary to enjoy this meal. My haddock was fresh, properly flakey and came with a carmelized lemon, a few roasted cherry tomatoes, and an elegant fan of whipped potatoes. Our only complaint about the mains is that the portion sizes were rather large. I know that on Cape this can be what many people expect when dining out, but neither of us could finish our entrees. Since we were celebrating my wife's birthday she ordered the marscapone cheese cake for dessert which with a fashioned dollop of fresh whipped cream. Yes, I had a taste of this too and it was divine--velvety smooth, light, and flavorful. Brian did a wonderful job of pacing the meal so we had time to relax and talk between courses. Though still relatively new Leonessa is soon going to become "a must visit" place for people coming to Cape Cod this summer. Fortunately, you can make reservations on Open Table, but I'll bet those are going to fill up fast. Thankfully Ms. Amara told us that they hope to keep Leonessa open year around which is a very good thing for us local diners. Even the brioche style bread accompanied by caponata and salted butter via bread service was a treat. Grappa on the menu with espresso a huge plus in my book. Wanted to try something new tonight and had heard good things about this restaurant. My drink was unusual but a refreshing seltzer. It was the Sicilian Soda made with Zucca Rabarbaro, Viscole Velenosi, Limonata. Perfect combo of dark cherry and earthy tones. My daughter and I shared the octopus app and it was just ok as the olive oil, albeit good quality, was overpowering. She ordered the lobster flatbread and I had the lobster stew. They were both excellent. The flatbread was a hearty size and the ricotta tasted homemade. My stew was like a bisque, rich flavor and chock full of lobster. Very filling so next time we will have to save room for dessert. read more

My wife and I shared an appetizer, arancini, as well as two pastas, the carbonara and the hand rolled strozzapreti. Of the three dishes my wife and I liked the strozzapreti the most. The arancini were good but the Carbonara was very dry and had little flavor. Carbonara when prepared properly will have a nice, silky, creamy sauce made from the warm pasta water mixed with egg yolks and pecorino romano cheese. This Carbonara had virtually no sauce, very little pancetta and again, dry and little flavor. I will say that I did enjoy my cocktail, an I-Tai. One other little hiccup was that when we were brought our bill, it was the correct bill (approx. $90) and I gave the server my credit card; however, when the host brought back the bill to sign, it was for approximately $240!! Apparently, I was being charged for another table's meal. Fortunately, I pointed this out and it was quickly corrected!
