    Crispy potato
    Grace N.

Few of my colleagues love this place and have been going there for years. Recently for some reason another few of us decided to give it a try and one of those occasions, they dragged me with them. Their main drawn to this place was the Taco Tuesday/Friday, where I believe each crispy taco is like $1.75 or at least, under $2, which is like, you can't really find that anywhere nowadays, let alone in DTLB!!! I'm on my healthy journey so I didn't get any crispy tacos but I did get a taco salad with chicken and it was huge and pretty good. I noticed AFTER I ordered that they have a section for healthy option too so I must order from that next time I come back with my colleagues. Everyone loved their tacos, and I enjoyed my taco salad. They have a salsa bar which I found very good. Service was awesome and the ladies were super nice!

Staple to the neighborhood! Always have to stop by when I'm in town. The tacos any style are my favorite. Especially the crunchy chicken and fish tacos , you can never go wrong. Only wish the broadway location stayed open late still. I'm just glad this one sells beer now!

    Breakfast burrito

I've been hearing about their morning breakfast burrito special forever and finally found myself in the area at the right time to try it out. It is a good deal, for sure, but the burrito itself was kind of meh. The potatoes needed some crunch and seasoning. If your main consideration is cost, they've got you covered. Cash or zelle only.

    Asada, carnitas and Al pastor

Was looking for a taco Tuesday spot that won't drain our pockets and found this place. When we got there, there was only one person inside. So customer service was quick. They only accept Zelle and cash at the moment. We went for their taco Tuesday menu, tacos were about 1.75 per taco. I forgot to take a picture of the menu :( we got 6 tacos total, asada, Al pastor and carnitas. And they were so good ! Have not found tacos like these in a while. I definitely want to come back. They have an open salsa bar too!

    California Burrito

This was my first time trying a California Burrito because I'm from El Monte; therefore, I have nothing to compare it to. It made me forget all my worries while I was eating it. I had it with lime, red and green salsas.

Always drive past this and finally made a stop tonight. This being around the corner was convenient, just parking is terrible but that's long beach so that's expected lol. I called in for a carne asada burrito and was told it'd be ready in 10min. Perfect, i arrived and food was ready. It's cash or zelle only! I love when you order a burrito & they're actually decently sized! Chips came included and salsas you pour yourself. Overall was decently priced and did not disappointment :)

The 8th and Magnolia location is on point. Nice and clean. Hot fresh food. If you are in search of good and authentic Mexican food, then look no further. Friendly service and atmosphere.

    Chicken Tacos

I went here for lunch when they were having a special and ordered four chicken tacos. The chicken and tortilla shells were very dry and the presentation was not that great. The service was good, everyone was very nice. The restaurant ambiance was ok. Just disappointed in the food.

    Nachos!
    Rick H.

If I'm eating Mexican fare, I want it authentic, not some Americanized chain. So when I saw local workers lining up in Leo's, I knew I had to try it. The restaurant is clean and pleasantly dated, with a heavy wood counter, wood chairs and tables. The service is immediate and friendly. I was craving nachos, so I got an order with Carne asada. I've never had nachos this good. The chips and guacamole are made in house, and they're amazing. My dish had beans, peppers, onion, sour cream and plenty of tender Carne asada. The portion was huge! There is also a nice salsa bar with fresh, house-made salsas, onion, carrot, jalapeño, cilantro and limes. Everything you need to make awesome nachos out of this world! If you want authentic Mexican food, you absolutely must try Leo's!

    Chicken Crispy Taco
    Kenya S.

These use to be really really good. I have been eating at this place since moving to Long Beach in 2020 since I live 2 blocks from them. And the chicken crispy taco is/was my favorite. They aren't even crispy anymore. They fall apart and the meat isn't juicy like before. They taste old like they have them pre-cooked and sitting around waiting to be ordered. I'm disappointed.

NEVER ORDER FROM HERE! Ordered and picked up lunch for work crew, and received the incorrect order and was refused refund or corrected order. I was charged for $14 burritos when i ordered $4 tacos. They refused to refund or corrected order my order and I eventually had to leave with the wrong food and being incredibly overcharged. I only gave one star so I was able to post review. It would be 0 if I could ABSOLUTELY AVOID LEO's

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! You can't go wrong with Mexican food!

The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

In addition to all those basic menu items they have some stellar creations. I opted for the carne asada plate - simple and not spicy. Hubby ordered the Carne en su Jugo- very spicy with tomatillo broth and serranos, cilantro, bacon and onions. Both of our entrees came with bean soup and tortillas. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

Unfortunately, the huevos rancheros were pretty underwhelming. They came with two over-easy eggs over a tortilla that was very soggy. I personally prefer the tortilla to have some crispness so you can actually bite into it and get that contrast in texture, but this one was completely soft underneath the eggs and sauce. The ranchero sauce itself was very basic and plain. It wasn't bad, but there wasn't anything particularly flavorful or memorable about it. The beans were fine, but I didn't care for the rice. My partner's beef sandwich was actually decent and probably the better of the two dishes, although it still wasn't anything extraordinary. He also ordered a Paloma, but unfortunately that was disappointing as well. He could really taste what seemed like lower-quality alcohol, and overall the drink tasted mostly like watered-down Squirt rather than a well-balanced Paloma. Overall, nothing was necessarily terrible, but the experience was pretty average. I was hoping for more flavor and better textures from the food, and a better-balanced cocktail. Unfortunately, nothing really stood out enough to make the meal memorable. The staff and waiter were nice and pleasant and restrooms were clean.
