I recently had a very disappointing experience with Les Schwab and want to share it as a cautionary tale for others to be smart consumers. I requested a quote for a 3.5-inch lift, wheels, and new tires. When they quoted me a parts cost for a ReadyLift 3.5" lift kit (part number 62-19340) at $5,216.99, I decided to do a little research. Imagine my shock when I found the same lift kit on the ReadyLift website for $3,249.95--a markup of $1,967.04! I even went back to Les Schwab to confirm the quote and asked why the price was so inflated. They stood by their quote, claiming it was their "vendor cost." This explanation makes absolutely no sense when the manufacturer's price is so much lower. The lack of transparency and such an exorbitant markup left me feeling like Les Schwab is more interested in price-gouging than in earning trust. Needless to say, I will not be returning, and I encourage others to do their homework before agreeing to any quotes here. Shop smarter, folks! There are better options out there. read more

I'm not impressed with the shit these guys tried to pull on me today. The reason why they get 2 stars instead of 1 is because I commend them for taking care to not get dirty glove prints in my car. But now for the bullshit: *Showed up today for a tire-rotation and left with a $750 quote for 4 new tires! For reference, I had just bought new tires 1.5yrs ago and had driven 20,000 miles. Les Schwab claimed to have observed excessive wear on the shoulders of my tires, which warranted the excuse to purchase new tires. Shoulder's were claimed to have been measured at 3/16" and rest of tread was claimed to have been 5/16". *Because of this observation, Les Schwab REFUSED TO DO SERVICE ON MY VEHICLE. THEY REFUSED TO ROTATE MY TIRES! Complete horseshit behavior. I just got a second opinion from Point S a little Westward of Schwab and they found no issues... WTF SCHWAB read more

I had four new tires put on and after a week of driving on them, I came out to find one of them flat. I didn't make an appointment to have it repaired bcs they were booked out for a few days so I just showed up early the next morning. I had to wait three hours for them to repair what was determined to be "a leaky bead," which means it was not installed well. I understand that they are busy, but I personally feel that, with it being their mistake, I should have received faster service or AT LEAST some sort of acknowledgment of fault/apology/offer for a complimentary service in the future. read more

Bought a battery and it only lasted 203 days. I went in to have them replace it since it has a 2 year warranty. I had to wait 3 hours to get help. They wanted to charge me a pro-rated fee to replace it even after they tested it and it was bad. The Warranty paperwork says 24 months free replacement but the refused to honor their own written warranty. They finally agreed to replace the faulty battery. I won't ever buy anything from them though. UPDATE: The technician ASSUMED there was a parasitic draw and used that as a reason not warranty the battery. Les Schwab never actually tested for a draw. I informed the technician I had already checked for a draw and didn't find one. They did not accept that as a valid test and said they would only accept it being tested by another shop at my expense. I pointed out that the battery was leaking acid, which is why it wouldn't hold a full charge. That is when they finally agreed to replace it under warranty. I don't appreciate Les Schwab responding to my review and insinuating I did not understand the situation or even worse, was dishonestly trying to get my faulty battery replaced under warranty. Took my Jeep in for Brake Service at the main Street Springfield Service Center and later heard a rattle in the back. Took the Jeep to my Mechanic and discovered that the lug nuts on both back tires had come loose. When we told the Manager at the Springfield Main Street Service Center. His answer was you must have taken your vehicle to someone else and they left the lug nuts loose. I assured him I had not. Recommend going to the Harlow Road Service Center in Springfield. I will not be back to the Main Street Service Center after the way my wife and I were treated by the Manager. I've sent three customers here for alignments, and three times my customers were lied to about issues with their vehicles in an attempt to up sell. They said the vehicles needed parts replaced in order to do the alignment. Sometimes saying parts that were already replaced, needed to be replaced. Called and requested to have an alignment performed. They informed me it would be $89, perfectly reasonable. They asked me why I think I need an alignment and I informed them that I just replaced my ball joints and tie rods and am experiencing some excessive camber. Les Schwab then told me that there will be a $105 inspection fee on top of the alignment because they themselves did not do the work. They are trying to extort from their customers and call this bullshit a fee. Oh their tire prices are ridiculous, got the same exact tires else where, installed and balanced with the same warranty and guarantees for half the price. I just got new tires at Firestone a few days ago. They said the tie rod was needing to be replaced. They said the same about my mother's and it was just fine. So my brother and I bring it here for a second opinion. Side note, never trust Firestone when they say tie rods are bad, get a second opinion. We scheduled it to come in here later that afternoon to check on those and have an alignment done. They answered the phone quickly, and made the appointment. We dropped it off and went to run some errands. They were supposed to get the car in and looked at by 4. We came back at 4 to check, and my car had not moved from the parking lot. They say they are still working on another car, and it will be in within half an hour. We come back at 5, and it still hasn't moved. Finally, as we are sitting in the car talking, they run out to get it. Finally! This would be the one big annoyance, because my brother stayed in town to make sure this was taken care of, and so it seemed like a waste of his time. Because it is so late, they can't complete the repairs that day. Annoying, but it does happen. They had it done by noon the following day. Still later than promised, but it worked out fine. They didn't stop me from doing anything special. At Firestone I was told that all components of my tie rods were bad. At Les Schwab, it was only the inner tie rods that were bad. I appreciate the honesty, and don't feel like they were trying to push work that didn't need to be done on me. That would be why they get three stars. They had the parts in stock, and it was a pretty easy fix. But they had to keep it overnight because they were so late in getting it in to diagnose the problem. I wasn't a fan of how slow it seemed they were in getting my car in and the job done, but I'm thinking it was the car before me giving them problems, as the owner still had the hood up trying to figure it out after it came off the rack and moved back into the parking lot. I forget the tech who helped us, but he let me into the car while it was still in the shop to get some things for my husband, work supplies and things. Normally they don't do this for safety reasons, but they were accommodating to me and my brother while we made sure we had everything. I wouldn't say their customer service was stellar, but it wasn't bad either. I appreciated their honesty in telling me exactly what the problem was. But they are insanely slow, it seems like. Would I return? Only if I have a good chunk of my day to spend waiting on the car, and the patience to do so, along with another car to drive while it is here. read more

Im surprised by my experience here given Les Schwabs renowned good customer service. I came here to have brakes and tires done on my Dodge 2500. They gave me a 10% discount on tires bringing my total up to just over $3,000. You pay a premium at Les Schwab but you're paying for the service and warranty. The job was supposed be done in a day. I dropped off in the afternoon and got a call a few hours later saying my truck was done. Turned out they only did the tires and forgot about the brakes. They ended up keeping the truck for an extra day to complete the service. On day two I picked my truck up and went to drive home. I applied my brakes and my steering wheel was jerked out of my hands almost bringing me into on coming traffic. I took the truck back and the tech, Mike, took the truck for a test drive and noted that it pulled to the left when he applied the brakes. I spoke to the manager who told me that they couldn't replicate my complaint. The manager did not make me feel validated. I was told they would take a look and get back to me. On day three I picked up my truck and spoke to Mike. Mike is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. Mike was friendly and made me feel validated. The truck now drives just fine. I guess I'm upset because A) it took three days to do what was promised to be a one day job. B) I was handed the keys to a very unsafe vehicle that could have hurt someone and C) that the manager did not make me feel validated and the only customer service I got was they fixed a faulty caliper that they installed. I will not be returning to any Les Schwab, and I hope a customer service rep reads this and reaches out to me. Thank you. Reduced review to one star due to customer service never getting back to me. On 8/18/2021 I rolled the front tire off the rim of my tractor. Brought to this store and was told an easy fix, would take 2 minutes but they were backed up for 1-1/2 Hours. I ran some errands and returned 2-1/2 hours later and was told that my priority had slipped as they had gotten more work in my absence and it would be at least 3 more hours. They could not even guarantee that, since they might get more work. Remember its 2 minutes of work. I was very disappointed over my wasted time, retrieved my tire and rim and went up Main St. 10 blocks to a tire store I have never been to, and I kid you not, the time from when I took the tire and wheel out and returned them back to the trunk did not exceed 5 minutes and no charge. You can not beat that for service. 2 other issues I have had with this location. About 2 years ago my wife heard a loud squealing/ grinding noise coming from the rear right wheel and immediately brought it to this store near closing time and and after a quick inspection was told that it was safe to drive home, a 15+ mile trip, and to bring it back the following day. When she got home I listened and immediately knew it was a serious problem. The axle was worn half way through and required the replacement of both axles, bearings and seals, as well as a thorough cleaning of the axle housing to remove the substantial number of shavings causing the failure of the axle on the far side. They expected her to drive 15+ miles back for repairs? This could have killed or maimed her or worse if the axle had broken and caused a wreck. Another time, years ago, I purchased a set of tires and when I got home, 15+ miles, I found that they had not tightened the lug nuts. They were finger tight. When I called to inform them of the problem, they suggested I bring it back in so they could properly torque them. I refused and torqued them myself. I have been a customer of this location since I moved to the area 20 years ago, when Les was still alive. I have bought several sets of tires, snow tire swaps every year and they treat me this way. I miss Les, the company has lost HIS WAY. I will not be back. Ever. This is my 2nd posting, I can only assume that I mentioned the name of the other store in my first posting and that kicked it out. So I ran over a nail out of town and paid to have it repaired at a Midas location in Washington, the tire was fine between there and here then Started loosing air again. I tried to take it to the Midas in town twice both times they were needing me to leave my car for hours which is really hard for me as a single mom of a toddler. I took it to Les Schwab to see if they could do it for me since I need my car running reliably and they had it in and out within less time then they quoted abs didn't charge me for the repair! On 4/8/2019, brought my car in for a tire rotation. Time given was a little over an hour...2 hours later, still waiting. When I checked in, I was told a little over an hour. At the 2 hour mark, I asked the rep about the near double wait time. " It's just been really busy" When told that a 2 hour wait was not even close to a little over an hour, I got the deer in headlights look and that I was next up. As I sat, stood, did yoga for 2 hours, I heard numerous "in about an hour" telephone responses...suckers. I found myself needing to get all of my tires replaced, my front breaks, rotors, and calipers. I called around and price checked before deciding on a place. I ended up going here because they had the best over the phone customer service and the best price for what I needed. I paid $724 for everything. I almost went to a local place right up the street where they quoted me $1,011 for the same service. My tires came with a 40,000 mile warranty, free rotations, and free flat repair wherever I am. Every one here that I dealt with today, from the receptionists to the mechanics, are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Did it take a bit long? Yes, I waited for a few hours. I made sure to have something with me to do to keep me occupied, making the wait time not a problem. The service was top notch. Tires were reasonably priced. I generally don't give bad reviews, but this time it was warranted. Let me first say I have until recently the first one to brag and recommend Les Schwab. I can no longer recommend them for a couple of diffrent reasons. The most recent, I took my car in for a slow leak in the front drivers side. I left my car and walked home, I only live a short walk away. This was mid morning, I finally had to call THEM at 3pm to find out if my car was ready. They told me is was.... I asked what the issue was and they told it was fixed. Again, I asked what caused the problem. Finally, after at least 2 people looked at the computer, they told me the guy didn't list the cause, should have been a red flag! They seemed a bit uncomfortable, needless to say the problem was NOT fixed! The tire continued to have the same problem. I went to a competitor today and within 30min, it's really fixed because the found a screw in the tire!!!!! I think that the service guy at Schwab at least moved my car but that is about it! My other issue (although not with this particular Les Schwab) was a break issue! Yes, that's a big deal! I was hearing noises in the front of my car and I knew the breaks were probably getting to the point of needing to be replaced. I had them looked at a couple of years before by a mechanic friend. When I took the car in to Les Schwab to have them confirm the problem, they told me my breaks had at least 12-18mo before they needed to be replaced. Sweet, I don't have to spend money! Happy dance! Less than a year later the noise changes for the worse! I take my car back in and guess what now my breaks, rotators AND calipers need to be replaced!! I know what you're thinking, I knew they would eventually need to be replaced. Yes, you are correct, but I drive my car very little. Most people put an average of say 12,000 miles per year. I only put about 1200 miles per year!!! By normal standard with as little as I drive I should have had a much longer time before replacement! And they became so bad I had to replace many more parts at a higher expense! They didn't get my business for that job! read more

I just can't use a place where the employees push aluminum wheels when I specifically ask for steel. Then they tell me that they don't like to sell steel wheels because sometimes they're oval'ed. Well then I'll continue to use places that sell round steel wheels instead! Go to the effort of driving to Firestone at the Valley River Center.
