A dear friend purchased an ube cheesecake for my birthday this year and it was truly perfect. An incredibly satisfying texture and my favorite color. The right amount of richness and sweetness without being too much. I have since stopped by when near chinatown. food: delicious clouds that are baked fresh to order. Very good spongy and fluffy cakes!! I loved the fact that they don't sell individual slices bc it can get dry. A whole cake is around $13 for their original not too bad considering some places charge almost $10 a slice. So grab a bubble tea or a coffee next door and dig into this delicious treat right when you get it! read more

This place caught my curiosity when I was walking by today. I've been to Keiki in Koreatown before so I thought this place would have similar items and they did. I love cream puffs. I asked the staff member for recommendations and he said the peppermint bark was his favorite and it was also a seasonal flavor. I bought one of that flavor as well as pistachio and ube because I love everything ube. I liked the peppermint bark the best, then the ube and then the pistachio one. I think next time, I want to try the cheesecake because it looks good. The cream puffs were reasonably priced (1 for $4 or 3 for $10). I took advantage and bought 3 different flavors. I would love to visit again to see if they have other seasonal flavors. read more

I decided to drop by again to try their cream puff especially since I'm a sucker for ube. So they are still a cute little shop with no seating inside. They are still friendly and still expensive. The ube cream puff is ok but there's not much of an ube flavor. The best part is that it's not too sweet and the texture is good. At $4 a pop it's a little hard to justify. Went in the evening and, there was still cheesecake availability. It was only one person ahead of me but staff took care of me quickly. Got the original cheesecake. There is no seating, so you have to take it to go. Kept it out in room temperature for over an hour before I ate it. It was still very cold. Liked the taste as it wasn't overly heavy and not too sweet. It's not a big size either, but there is still leftover. Definitely gonna try the Ube one next time. read more

Cheesecake has always been my favorite go-to dessert I always preferred the original thick creamy cheesecake style, but I can now say I have a second favorite, these were light and flakey, only comment I give would be that there wasn't much of the "unique cheesecake flavor" that all cheesecakes have. This bakery offers fancy jiggly cheese cake in many different flavors. They were pretty busy. I have only had their cream puffs here and I definitely have to say they are so delicious. They offer different flavors like ube, chocolate, vanilla and pistachio. I love their pistachio puffs. They are so generously filled. These puffs really should be eaten the day you buy them otherwise it can get a little soggy but who can resist not eating them immediately.... Not me ;-) read more

Ignore my previous review - I'm a fool. The ube bouncy cheesecake is absolutely perfect and it is no longer a concern of mine that you can only order a whole one. As it turns out, I can eat that entire thing within a day. Older, wiser, etc. I had Rikuro's in Osaka a few months ago and the cheesecake here is a little denser, but just as delicious. I remember I saw there was a line long ago when they first opened. I passed by today and decide to get a light cheesecake for Father's day. We loved cheesecake. We tried from Martha, Eileen and this. This cheesecake is spongy and fluffy, sweetness just right, not like Martha's as heavy as you just had a meal. Cute little Japanese cheesecake shop in Chinatown Manhattan. The shop is small but they have tons of baked goods. It's not a place where you can sit down and eat. More of a grab and go? But they have a barstool table if you want to eat your baked goods there. Service was super quick, got my order taken and then received my cake right after. Reviewing based off the bouncy cheesecake only, I didn't get to try the other things yet. I ordered a Ube Bouncy Cheesecake. Flavor wise, the ube flavor is light. It's not too sweet so I was able to enjoy it. I liked that you can smell the flavor and subtle sweetness of the cake. You can't really taste the cream cheese that much because it's a Japanese cheesecake. I also thought that cheesecake wasn't as "bouncy" as it could have been. The texture of the cake was a little bit more on the denser side and the texture was very soft (also attached a picture to show the inside of the cake) Still pretty good tho! Would come back if I was in the mood for a decent Japanese cheesecake or if I want to try other things but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. This was the first place I had bouncy cake - back in the day when you really had to get there early because they would run out every day! Light, fluffy and I'm sure there are no calories cause I can eat a whole cake myself ; Try the ube, not only is it a great purple color but the subtle nuttiness comes through perfectly. Went well with our cappuccinos! The taste was special. Definitely try this- you won't be disappointed. My coworker and I shared three cream puffs at work and loved them all. One of the only dessert places open somewhat regularly on Thanksgiving. A lot of people were coming in for last minute desserts. I got a ube bouncy cheesecake and an ube cream puff. I came relatively early, maybe an hour after opening. Glad I did because they ran out of cakes that day. Their sweets are really not too sweet, which is always a good thing. Both the cream puff and Japanese cheesecake had a strong ube flavor. The choux pastry was good, light and crispy. The cream had a lot of flavor to it, but it wasn't as light as I like my creams to be. It thicker and didn't feel as smooth texturally. The Japanese cheese cake was light and bouncy. It was also only $18 for the whole thing, and it can easily be shared between 6 people. read more

A shop where you can get the Taiwanese cheesecake which jiggles, definitely something I've watched in videos but was not nearly as good as I thought it would be as it seems a lot like the Japanese style cheesecake slices that you can get done at the other bakeries. Still, the prices were better than other bakeries for a full cheesecake (they have slightly smaller versions that work for two). The cream puffs being $4 a piece felt a bit much, you can get three for $10 though. I'm not originally a fan of this style of cheesecake so perhaps other people will enjoy it more than I do. I was hungry and got a pistachio cream puff at $4 for each one wrapped in a plastic bag. The pistachio crusted topping is very tasty and crunchy when you bite it. The pistachio cream is very creamy and I thought it was a lot of cream sitting inside the puff. The cream was a bit sweet and just right but I think it was too much cream. I could t finish the cream but ate mostly the pistachio nuts sitting outside of the puff. They also had other flavors like taro and original, which I will try another time when I pass by. read more

Bought a few cream puffs and one of the cheesecakes. The cream puffs were fine. Nicely textured but way too much filling. The cheesecake I felt like was pretty dry and, opposite of the cream puffs, without enough creaminess. Pretty expensive and would probably skip next time. read more

My friend treated me with an ube bouncy cheesecake ($18) from Keki and it was absolutely amazing. The texture is so soft and fluffy that it's hard to accept that it's considered a cheesecake! It's so light that I could've eaten all of it in one sitting. The most impressive part about the cake was the ube flavor. I think it's hard to capture ube since it's a very subtle nutty vanilla flavor, but this one managed to do it. I think this definitely rivals the Uncle Tetsu cheesecake in terms of texture, but Keki's ube flavor is much better! I would definitely want to come back to try their cream puffs and original cheesecake as well. read more

This has been on my list for a really long time and I finally got a chance to visit them this time. I so wanted to get the sponge cake but knowing that we'd be on the move and travelling around I ended up buying the 3 for $10 cream puffs - I got the pistachio, Ube and cookies & cream flavors. The cream puff was perfect crispy on the outside soft on the inside and the cream flavors were great, making these a cloudy pillow of absolute delight. I'm definitely gonna get the sponge cake next time! It has strawberriy jelly and it was a mess. The orange one was almost ruined too. The mango has some diced mangoes. I devoured three of them instantly. Definitely come back to try more.

While Salswee is not on my list of top bakeries, I would be willing to come here again to try their more colorful items - things with mango or yuzu. Worth checking out if you're trying to tackle all the dessert spots in NYC!

Today I decided to make a special trip to go here to grab a few goodies. I forgot how small the place was and how low the ceilings were. That wasn't an issue though. The place was nice and cakes were stacked neatly. What was surprising to me is that they don't have any cookies laid in the front display. It's all placed in the back almost hidden. I was deeply disappointed with their cookie selection. It was deeply surprising that they don't sell the butter cookies that had jam in the middle and dipped with chocolate on one side with sprinkles. I did ask the clerk and even showed him a pic of what I was looking for and he said they never sold them. They only had the linzer cookies and they didn't look so good. They also did not have the lobster tail. They did have the sfogliatelle which they also called a lobster tail. I thought they were not the same? Some bakeries sell both and they are definitely not the same. I did end up buying one of their sfogliatelle with cream and some rugelachs. The sfogliatelle was good but the rugelachs tasted slightly underbaked. It did taste fresh though unlike many I've had in other bakeries. However, for $28 per pound, I wouldn't get it again. For those not having lobster tail and not having the Italian cookies, I will have to give Veniero's a low rating. I never thought an Italian bakery would not carry staples. Very disappointed. I need to find another Italian bakery now.

She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. In the past I've ordered lunch from Daily Provisions via delivery (the "Chefy" salad and the chicken milanese with arugula salad are my favorites), but I might start adding other breakfast sandwiches to the mix.

On my second visit I decided on the bergamot honey latte--again it see very good...the bergamot is there but not over powering. This time I got the banana bread and it was superb! Take your coffee and treats to the park across the street with benches. You can people watch and enjoy your morning coffee!!
