Two way links + ribs. You get two sides & bread. I started eating before taking the picture, excuse me. Portion size is solid!
    Dom S.

Welcome back to one of the best spots for BBQ in the Bayview. History of BBQ in this neighborhood runs deep and is some of the best in the city. Don't argue with me, argue with ya mama. Today I ordered the two way with links & ribs as my meats. Beans & yams as my sides. Also threw in a peach cobbler & sweet potato pie because why not Links - homemade, flavorful, good portion size 8/10 Ribs - The reason you come here. Amazingly smoked, not overcooked (iykyk), tender, flavorful, solid rib size. These are not riblets being sold as ribs. 10/10 *The bbq sauce comes in hot/mild/and why bother. I went with the mild which is perfect balance of flavor + bite Beans - Just like your nana used to make em. Flavorful, nice balance of sweet and savory. No meat included in them. 8/10 Yams - Candied to perfection, just the right consistency, not overly sweet where you'll fizzle out or can't finish. 9/10 Bread - If they don't give you free bread, you're at the wrong BBQ spot Sweet Potato pie - Not really my jam, but I thought it was nicely done. Just the right size for a after meal dessert 7/10 Peach Cobbler - Thinking about how to ask for a bigger portion size of this for next time. Might be a problem for me in the future. 10/10 I saw a recent post complain about the price and I have to ask, do you even BBQ? Cheap BBQ is not good BBQ. The economics of a good BBQ plate are easy to understand. Also, the prices here ARE NOT "pricey." They are on par (and below some of the East Bay spots) with the Bay Area BBQ scene. Portion sizes are solid for the dinners & combos. Buy individual meats & share if you want more, but if you do BBQ here in the Bay, you already know how to get the most bang for your buck! Keep Black Frisco alive, pull up and support your local families still here in the City! There's history in these dishes being served!

i paid $61 with a $5 tip so the plate was $45 & $10 slice of been pie. I DO NOT MIND spending my hard earned money on good food. but c'mon son the yams taksed like it's out the can the mac & cheese felt like it was gentrified mac i asked for mild bbq sauce for hot bbq sauce two funky ribs a try aaaa breat and burnt wings the links was a joke i could not believe the plate was wack. bean pie was a disgrace to the bowtie communit, i really thought the food was going to be good it was not. my husband was disappointed

    Awesome chicken sandwich

My mini T train takes me by this spot daily, and every time the doors open at the Revere stop the amazing smell of BBQ is tantalizing. I'm not the biggest lunch guy so it took me longer than I would like to admit to get food from here but their inclusion on UberEATS made for the perfect night in. I ordered the shrimp sandwich and chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches were very basic but tasty. A bun, lettuce, tomato, onion, and some mayo with the added protein. The shrimp was a little on the skinny side but the chicken was terrific. Really wonderful smoky flavor on tender white meat. It also needs to be noted that they have two options for fries here, and while the regular thin fries are nothing to write home about, the seasoned waffle fries are awesome. Super crispy and wonderfully flavorful, I highly recommend you get those seasoned in your life with the quickness!

The exterior of Let's Eat BBQ and More... It's on Third Street in the Bayview District.

This is a San Francisco original. If you love the low and slow "suthern" style barbeque with thick rich sauces, ranging from plain to plain hot, this is your place. Their original house sauces are great. The place is spartan, but then again, BBQ is a spartan kinda genre. It's in the Bayview District on Third Street, which doesn't translate to Main Street or easy access. But if you ever get the inclination for a pretty authentic barbecue, it's a trek you won't regret.

Lets Eat - on 3rd near Frisco Fried

Lets Eat is a couple doors down from Frisco Fried on a quieter side of the Bayview. A block the other way though is Palou where it can get a little hyphy. You'll be alright if you mind your own business and keep your eye on that BBQ/Soul Food prize. Roomy, clean (posted health score of 87), with a smoker built into their wall, I came for lunch with my foodie in crime. We both ordered 2-ways (with different meats), two mains, two sides, and a cornbread - $19. Out of all the meats (fried chicken, pulled pork, pork ribs, and beef brisket) their pork ribs were the best. Man food portion of smoky ribs smothered in a sweet and spicy bbq sauce. The pink smoke ring was blurred and faint, I didn't get a chance to ask what they smoke their meat with (charcoal, mesquite, etc) but I should have asked for the sauce on the side. The ribs weren't as tender and hot (served room temp) as I would have liked and not as smoky as Gorilla in Pacifica but still some solid Q. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ng59DRNOe8tU2ySU1LZ9ZQ?select=6RIQ11r-8v5BNQ0cIRWpHA#6RIQ11r-8v5BNQ0cIRWpHA) *The brisket and pulled pork were ok. The brisket was served room temp and a little dry, tender enough but still had some fatty pieces that had not fully melted. *The fried chicken wings, fried to order, looked great but were under seasoned and a little overcooked. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ng59DRNOe8tU2ySU1LZ9ZQ?select=4UQY5QQVUgWdmnUO9kdZ3g#4UQY5QQVUgWdmnUO9kdZ3g) *The sides were just OK too, the red beans and rice had a nice spicy kick but tell me why the collard greens didn't have any salt pork? The cornbread was too dense. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ng59DRNOe8tU2ySU1LZ9ZQ?select=UxHhy-DBqF9kTVWUBqvHMg#UxHhy-DBqF9kTVWUBqvHMg) Solid soulfood and BBQ but wouldn't make a special trip. If I'm in the area I'd rather do Smokin' Warehouse for Q.(http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ng59DRNOe8tU2ySU1LZ9ZQ?select=__RAuonswVxT2_Ip4w4upA#__RAuonswVxT2_Ip4w4upA)(http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ng59DRNOe8tU2ySU1LZ9ZQ?select=YzyMGzCYlyV2PTSUZZeabQ#YzyMGzCYlyV2PTSUZZeabQ) Unfortunately, they do not have burnt ends. - Menu (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ng59DRNOe8tU2ySU1LZ9ZQ?select=E-lItF9uJsCRBBMV3PvFxQ#E-lItF9uJsCRBBMV3PvFxQ)

To celebrate America's 250th birthday, my friends and I decided to stop by Hardwood Bar & Smokery…read moreas it's one of the few BBQ establishments in SF. All seating is bar style with high tables hence the name "Hardwood Bar." The food was okay and I'd much rather go to Fikscue if I'm feeling BBQ next time to be honest. We shared ribs and each of us got an entree. One of my friends often orders from here for delivery and was excited to try it in person so that the food would be hot. Surprisingly, our tri tip and brisket came out slightly cold so it wasn't that different from delivery... The ribs were okay and not the most tender. Our server was great and service was good despite the restaurant being relatively full and served by one person. What I find the most perplexing is how they calculate the "SF mandate" fee and sales tax. I'm local to SF so I'm used to restaurants tacking on this "SF mandate"/"SF healthy mandate" fee, but their calculations just seem a bit off (see receipt). If we're calculating this correctly, 4% of $130.40 should be $5.22 and 8.63% of $130.40 should be $11.25. If you include the SF mandate fee in the tax calculation, then the $11.74 is right (if you include their calculation of the SF mandate fee). I'm not going to argue over a 50 cents or so but it's the principle of it! They should definitively state the actual % of 4.35% they're charging instead of just stating 4%. I mean at scale -- it adds up right? It rubbed me the wrong way for sure.

The brisket is tender, smoky, and always disappeares way too fast. The hot link has perfect snap, the chicken is alwayss juicy, and the bao bun (side of pickled onions) is always a standard on all our orders. The sides, oh the sides, mac & cheese and potato salad are exactly what great BBQ sides should be. Don't forget the cornbread muffins either. And special alert: the brisket chili deserves its own spotlight. This is a family-run operation, and it shows. Great people, great food, and a fantastic addition to our side of the city. My advice: don't sleep on Smokin D's, place the order and always ask for extra BBQ sauce. Thank you, Smokin D's, for keeping San Francisco smoked, sauced, and happy.

Located on the ground floor of the infamous leaning Milennium Tower in San Francisco's Financial District, INTERNATIONAL Smoke was Michael Mina's fine dining barbecue restaurant collaboration with multi-hyphenate entrepreneur Ayesha Curry. I visited this place once, for a small dinner party hosted by Charles Schwab on Tuesday, October 14, 2024. We arrived shortly after 6:35 PM. The atmosphere was modern, but casual and hip, funky with exposed metal accents popping through concrete floors and columns. Evidently, the fully booked days were behind them - despite the place's popularity as a fun, lively eatery with the occasional celebrity spotting, the restaurant was fairly quiet that night and not a single person was at the bar. We were seated in the spacious Atrium with floor to ceiling windows. INTERNATIONAL Smoke was not your traditional barbecue restaurant. They presented a globally-inspired grill-centric carte inspired by the rich heritages of the co-founders. The globetrotting meat dishes highlighted diverse international flame-cooking and smoking traditions. The ambitiously broad menu intended to take diners on a culinary journey around the world, but, instead, delivered a disjointed and scattered passport. Similar to the food offerings, INTERNATIONAL Smoke's drink catalogue featured some rotating crafted cocktails that leaned into global flavours, such as KUNG FU PANDAN ($18) and MIDNIGHT IN OAXACA ($20). Boozy beverages like TICKLE ME PINK ($19), NEGRONI ($19), and the ESPRESSO MARTINI ($20) were enjoyed by some of my tablemates. A couple of us stuck to the ZERO PROOF potables like the BUZZ FREE BEE ($15) and RASPBERRY FIELDS ($12) of which the latter I found to be delightful. Cool ice cubes, too! Below are a few of the dishes that we ordered: DOUBLE DUCK WINGS ($28) - I don't eat duck, but my dining mates raved over the tender mango-habanero glazed meat that was falling off the bones. BLACK TRUFFLE CAESAR ($20) - This was a substantial serving, and the sweet onion crema, fried garlic, and truffle vinaigrette all worked well together. ROASTED CAULIFLOWER ($18) - Meh. Perhaps my prejudice against raisins and tehina got in the way of enjoying this STARTER. BLISTERED SHISHITO PEPPERS ($16) - There was not a single blister on any of the peppers, so, unfortunately, the expected smoky, charred flavour was completely absent. MISO YAKI BLACK COD ($48) - This order came with two considerable sized filets of the velvety soft and flaky fish served atop mild shishito peppers sitting in a light ginger dashi broth. It could have just been me, but one of the slices looked a bit undercooked. DUNGENESS CRAB GARLIC NOODLES ($45) - Joanna went with this rich, buttery dish of noodles tossed with wood ear mushrooms, generous portions of Dungeness crab, and heavily garlicked. It was hearty, but I didn't see any bok choy mixed in there, which would have disappointed me if I were Joanna. PERI PERI HALF CHICKEN ($39) - Dustin ordered this dish. The poultry appeared to be well marinated, so I can only assume that the deep, fiery acidic flavour with the pronounced smoky element came through in each bite. Surprisingly, no rants nor raves on this from Dustin...who is usually very opinionated. PORK BELLY FRIED RICE ($17) - Not the worst, but not the best. For the small bowl, this was a major rip off. FRIED BRUSSELS SPROUTS ($15) - Wow, for the price, this should have knocked our socks off, but was pretty lackluster. 8 OZ. CENTER CUT FILET MIGNON ($68) - I ordered this steak plate. The meat was cooked perfectly medium rare, but the taste of the red wine demi and the stuffed portobello mushroom were unremarkable. LEMON OLIVE OIL CAKE ($14) - This did not stray far from the standard olive oil cake, just a touch of lemon added to the cake's flavour + the pluot garnishes. Nothing standout about this, unintriguing. "SMOKED" CHOCOLATE S'MORES ($14) - Not your typical s'mores, more of an elevated take on the campfire classic with a valrhona molten cake sitting atop brûléed marshmallow fluff with a side of graham cracker crumble and a scoop of ice cream. CINNAMON CHURROS ($13) - The accompanying blueberry cheesecake and meyer lemon curd dips were the sole unique elements of this sugar-dusted fried pastry dessert. Without them, this plate would have been underwhelming. Mediocre food at high-end prices aside, table service was friendly. What was all the hype over INTERNATIONAL Smoke? My true guess is that the affiliation with Steph Curry and his basketball friends who would pop in were the big draw...because even with all of the smoking, this place had no fire.

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. We were all cramped waiting on the stairway and the actual seating area is also fairly small for a busy KBBQ place/big parties. The 8 of us squeezed into a booth with 2 chairs on the side. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The marinated meats were pretty good as was the tteokbokki. Side & meat portions were alright, but the kicker is having to flag down staff to make sure they put in the order & bring it out. We asked for japchae about 5 times before it actually reached our table towards the end of our meal. The server/manager also told us that he had accidentally brought out 2 bottles of soju for us and that he'd COMP 1 bottle. We didnt notice that he had actually charged us for 2 and comped/subtracted a "third" one. So none were really comped at all. I just realized after we paid and that felt really sketchy. Idk if it's worth coming back here.
