    Matcha Ice Cream
    Anh T.

This is one of the few rolled ice cream places I've tried in San Francisco and it did not disappoint! There was no line when I went late at night on a weekday, and I ordered at a self-serving kiosk. I tried their large size matcha rolled ice cream, and I liked how there was the option of unlimited toppings for no additional cost. On top of my matcha rolled ice cream, I enjoyed Oreos, pretzel sticks, strawberries, boba, and Cap'n Crunch cereal. I like how the rolled ice cream was cold enough but not too cold to the point of it being hard to grab the ice cream up in scoops. There's no seating inside this dessert place, but counters are available for people to stand at. There is also a wall where people can put up post-it notes of anything, making it a fun and interactive shop!

Delicious ice cream. Service was quick and I like how you can watch them make it right in front of you. It's a small but clean establishment. They have a wall dedicated for people to write random notes during their visit. The ice cream flavors are really good. We tried their limited edition flavor Peppermint Bark (which is plain vanilla with a Ghirardelli peppermint bark chocolate minced into it) and their Thai-Chee which is their Thai tea ice cream with a lychee minced into it. I would be interested in trying their other flavors next time.

There are two businesses inside this shop. --Let's Roll --Hu Tong Jian Bing Let's Roll serves rolled up ice cream made popular in Thailand years ago. Instead of churning ice cream, ingredients are added onto an ice pan and made into rolled ice cream. It's fun to watch them make it. Hu Tong Jian Bing serves Beijing-style Jian Bing (savory crepe) that's a breakfast staple. Quick to make and easy to eat for on the go. The ones here are pretty good, but missing a bit of the crunchy filling and therefore a bit floppy, so when eating, it's not easy to hold and can be a bit messy to eat. Otherwise, yummy. Located on Clement St. and 25th Ave.

The ice cream was cool, and really something special. We enjoyed it, and it was cool that you could get unlimited free toppings. And they were rather quick in making it which was nice. It was a but pricy, but considering we have never tried this type of ice cream it was worth it. The service however was not the greatest, we said hi and were practically ignored, same with the 'have a good day, thank you, bye'. No one spoke a word to us the entire time. It would have also been nice if the interior would have a chair or a table to sit at, but it's okay.

It's not normal to walk into an ice cream store to get a tea drink, but I was thirsty. I was waiting for friends to meet me at parked car a few steps away from this store. Curious, I walked over and looked at the window posted menus. Being it was hard to read, I walked to the counter and placed my order with the gentleman who was making an eggette at the cooking station on the side. After placing my order, I returned to my car. About five minutes later, I peeked in and caught the cashier's eyes and he waved me in to get my drink. When I looked at it, Uranus (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=_Rz51r0vddm4ILeYUP6K-w), 25% sweetness, described as a green apple, passion fruit, lychee green tea. The 1st thing I noticed was that it had no ice. I don't believe he asked me whether I wanted it as I generally like my drinks iced. The tea flavor was good but it was a bit too warm for me to gulp my drink down. I pivoted as the cup was generously large. When I got home, with my ice machine working well, I basically turned this into four decent sized cups of iced tea. The sweetness is conservative so, if you like some sweet, you'll likely have to start at 50% sweetness. The tea flavor was prominent as the fruit flavors were a bit muted by comparison. After drinking a few sips while driving home, I saved most of it to drink at home where I would pour into my tall glass filled with ice. Amazingly, that cup made four glasses for the rest of the day and through the next morning. The store had 4-5 customers, some looking like they were playing video games... you get the demographic. I didn't try their namesake ice cream rolls not the eggette but perhaps on another visit. The cashier was a bit aloof though efficient, perhaps due to the busyness in helping customers. While leaving, I noticed a posted sign for Hutong Jian Beng. I still have a frozen package from Pastel/Neon in my freezer. Perhaps, I'll try this to save on reheating time. Nice addition to the block especially with the number of restaurants in the surrounding area.

Lots of different flavors. If I hadn't just had lunch I would have gotten 2 because the UBE also sounds really good but went with the Matcha instead. They also do unlimited toppings with some good options. It was pretty cool watching the guy make it in front of you. In and out pretty quickly.

The first time we had rolled ice cream was in Thailand and we got hooked. Then Let's Roll opened on Irving Street, only to be shut during the pandemic. So of course when we saw this cute place, we had to order it! There's a tablet kiosk you can place your order at and my daughter chose 3X Berry and keyed in her number for texts. Seconds later, she surprisingly 'won' a free ice cream via text! She scanned her code and got me a small Mango Away. The fun part for a lot of people, particularly kids, is watching the ice cream being made. It's standing room only, but this unique treat is well worth not needing to sit down. We particularly enjoyed the tiny bits of fruit in the ice cream. Long live Let's Roll!

An ice cream experience like no other, which is something that I say of value as a "let's finish dessert?!" type of eater. I love the cute little show of how the rolled ice cream was made, but I do wish that the worker announced the flavors were being made. I think that would draw more attention to the artistry creation of the ice cream that people dismiss as they are so hungry and focused on eating the final product. I wish that there were high chairs for people to sit at to because it was a pretty tight space with the "kitchen" area taking up most of it. I do love that this place has sweet and savory options available for choosing, but it was not advertised much online. I feel like more visibility online about the savory meals would make this place bring in more crowds because you know that you could have a full course meal here. Nonetheless, very good dessert stop for those who want to try this Bay Area dessert staple. I also was in great company. So glad that I got to be around this group of people for my first try of rolled ice cream :) until next time! & thank you to Jason (pictured top right corner) for this one :D

It was only good for the experience of seeing the ice cream being made. Otherwise, very overpriced for middling taste and very poor service. And the shop is very small with no seats and zero decor.

He low-key had a crush on one of the employees, so naturally he started bringing the entire friend group here. Looking back, it was basically a long-term marketing campaign disguised as friendship. Every visit felt less like getting drinks and more like him trying to impress his girl. XD The owner has probably seen the whole saga unfold from beginning to end and is still here doing what they've always done - running a great local business. That's honestly something I respect. Businesses come and go, trends come and go, friendships come and go, but some places just keep showing up every day and serving their community. To this day, I still stop by for their watermelon juice. Sure, I could make it at home for less money, but sometimes that's not the point. Basic economics: support local businesses that provide value. They earn a living, customers get products they enjoy, employees keep their jobs, and the community benefits. Everyone wins. The watermelon juice is refreshing, the memories are hilarious, and it's always nice supporting a local establishment that's been around long enough to witness entire character-development arcs. Highly recommend with my utmost respectful regards.

I walked about 30 minutes and arrived too early as the store did not open until noon. I walked out to Geary Blvd. and there was a lot of construction as I explored the area. I returned with only 14 minutes left before opening. The lady opening the store was raising the blinds on the windows facing the street. She unlocked the door shortly after noon and directed me to the kiosk to order. I knew I wanted the peach oolong milk tea at 75% sweet with no ice. It had been quite windy on the walk. Because of a coconut allergy in the family I had to ask if the popular mango pomelo sago had any coconut. Unfortunately, it has coconut (milk or oil?). As soon as I heard coconut, it was a no go. I wasn't familiar with pomelo and the lady told me it was like grapefruit. I still wanted to order a mango drink and went instead with the mango smoothie also 75% sweet with less ice. The customer following me asked about alternative milks which they do have. I overheard that they have oat and almond milk. Both drinks were excellent. The milk tea was not too sweet and I appreciated the peach bits in the drink. The mango smoothie was really creamy.

I ordered a Purple Kow Milk Tea with boba and grass jelly. The milk tea tasted a bit sour like an aftertaste, so that was a bummer. For about $9 for that size, it would had definitely been worth it, if the drink was good or even decent. Also, I ordered online and it still took almost half an hour to get just 1 drink.
