    Hair baked in cookie. Disgusting
    Darsy R.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. After paying nearly $30 for just four cookies, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. Unfortunately, my double chocolate chip cookie had a hair baked into it (see photo), which is completely unacceptable. On top of that, I ordered the coconut caramel chocolate chip cookie but was given a carrot cookie instead. For the price and the mistakes, this was a very disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Possibly one of the best cookie out there, extremely fresh and tasty! Their banana bread is also extremely good, you gotta be careful with this place it's addiction. The iced latte is only 5$ each and the quality of espresso is known immediately from the taste. Love coming here.

Levain just brings about instant joy. I took my family here when they were visiting from out of town and they loved it. When you walk in, you're instantly in heaven by the thick aroma of sugary and buttery cookies being baked. The chocolate chip walnut cookie is my all-time favorite but this time I also tried the seasonal coffee toffee flavor which was surprisingly delicious. I loved the coffee flavor and the crunch that the toffee brought to each bite. The cookies are on the pricier side but they're also delicious and massive. They're extra heavenly when heated up slightly in the toaster oven for a few minutes. Ooey and gooey in the center. So much yum!

Food: 8/10 Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 8/10 maybe I'm biased, but I feel like Levain cookies aren't as good as they're hyped or their price. I'm from San Diego and personally I prefer batch in box cookies over Levain. They're very similar types of cookies. I got their chocolate chip walnut and honestly, I only ate half the cookie. But I do remember when I first ever had Levain it was phenomenal so maybe it was just a one time thing today that it was a letdown. Overall, if there were special seasonal flavors, I think I'm willing to come again and try it again, but please note that you're also spending six dollars or more for a cookie.

As a home baker, I was excited to be in the area of a Levain. I had never been to any location before, so I couldn't wait to finally try it. We added about a half an hour on to our drive for it, so we were going to make it worth it with the haul. We ordered a wide assortment of items to try something from as many categories as possible. Whole wheat raisin bun- This was a little too hard, but was chewy, with a decent amount of raisins. Good for the price. Chocolate chip banana bread- Lacking banana flavor and a ton of moisture. Ironically, more bananas could easily fix both issues. Not the best, but once I took it home to heat up it wasn't the worst. Brioche with cinnamon butter- This looked pretty with the sugar on top, but it lacked cinnamon butter inside and almost any flavor. It wasn't even a plush dough like I would expect brioche to be. We even made a second purchase to get this one, so this was a very sad let down. Coffee toffee cookie- This was the best item out of all of them by a long shot. I am a huge fan of black cocoa and toffee, which I believe these both had. Not sure about where the coffee part was, but it still worked great. On theme with the others it was very hard, but the inside was a much better texture.

This cookie is not merely a dessert, but a refined culinary masterpiece that embodies perfection in every detail. From the very first moment, its rich aroma draws you in with a sense of indulgence, and with the first bite, a flawless harmony unfolds between delicate crispness and velvety softness that melts effortlessly on the palate. The flavor is deep, well-balanced, and luxuriously layered, as though each ingredient was meticulously selected to play its role with precision and elegance. The sweetness is refined rather than overpowering, leaving a lingering, opulent finish that caresses the senses long after the last bite. This is a cookie crafted to astonish, designed to impress, and destined to be adored. Without exaggeration, it stands among the elite--one of the most exquisite and unforgettable cookie experiences one could ever have

Finally got the chance to checkout Levain Bakery, I've heard about them for years, but I don't go to the east coast often. Glad that there's an LA location now and I hope it's here to stay. Cute little shop, open late, and even has some seating along the windows. Took a Lyft here after a night of drinking and boy did two thick warm cookies sound like a great idea. I greatly underestimated their size. I bought two -- their chocolate chip walnut and their two chip chocolate chip. The latter is in my carryon on my flight home to the Bay. The cookies are massive. What it lacks in structural integrity, it makes up for in texture and flavor. At over $5 a piece, it's more "worth-it" than Crumbl to me. Happy that they're able to quickly warm up the cookies on-site. Super gooey chocolate, fatty walnuts, definitely more on the filling to dough ratio. 4/5 wouldn't go out of my way for them again, but I'll gladly buy a few if I happen to be in the area. Delish.

I am new to Levain Bakery, but I've heard about them for so long that I feel like I've been eating it for years. It was started in 1995 in NYC and I know that this is their second West Coast location. The Larchmont one opened in 2023, but I procrastinated in trying it. I live very close to this location so I stopped in this weekend and honestly really enjoyed it. I will admit I am not a huge fan of the cookies because I like a gooey soft cookie and these are more dense and less chewy but I also tried some of their sandwiches and thought they were fantastic. For this visit I chose the Tomato & Burrata as well as the Honey and Jam. Inside is pretty small and doesn't have seating so the only option is to go. The server helping us was very polite and made my sandwich on the spot right after I ordered. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, however, street parking is not that hard to find or you can park in the alley in between this building and Erewhon. The line can get quite long at certain times so just be aware if stopping in during peak times. I would recommend and I plan to be back in the future to try more items.

I've tried Levain Bakery in New York and was pleased to find there are several in CA now and one on Abbot Kinney not too far from us. Unlike the one in NYC, this one had no line and was empty inside. The store itself was clean, pretty and well kept. However, when we walked in around 1:00 on a Sunday, I was disappointed to find they were all out of most of their cookies, especially their popular flavors like the chocolate chip walnut. They said they need to bake more batches and it would take another 20 minutes which we didn't have at the moment. We ended up getting the dark chocolate peppermint which is their holiday offering. The cookie tasted fine, the chocolate flavor was rich, the peppermint bits added a nice crunch but the cookie itself was thick and on the dry side. I think overall Levain is a bit overhyped. The flavor is fine but I'm not a big fan of the thick texture of the cookies. It was okay but I wouldn't wait in line for these. For the price point too, at about $6 per cookie, there are better options elsewhere. Parking: street

Ahh to stumble upon a Levain in California, such a nice surprise since I wished to have had another walnut choco chip cookie as I once had in Soho NYC for sometime now! Hard to miss especially if our first stop is Erewhon - right next to each other. Cookies just as scrumptious as the first bite I had in New York! Not to be missed while on the infamous AK!

    Elsa T.

I really enjoyed my latte and cookie from here. I have tried a couple other bakery items that weren't anything special. There is a parking garage in between Erewon and Levain. They validate inside.

I've never met a Levain Bakery I didn't like! Those cookies. Those cinnamon rolls. They never disappoint and are consistently delicious. I can't skip the chocolate chip cookie anytime I step into the bakery, so you best believe that will always be in my bag walking out. The great thing here is they always offer to warm it up for you! Make it even MORE decadent and soft and gooey?! YES PLEASE, I'm so in. Sometimes they'll have a seasonal or limited edition baked good and I am always game to try those, as well. On this last visit they had pumpkin spice chocolate chip cookies! P.S.CCC were such fall vibes and I loved this special eat. The staff is always friendly at the Abbot Kinney location in Venice but parking will be hard to find. This is such a popular street full of cool places, find parking wherever you can and explore a bit. It's a grab & go spot with just one bench outside for this busy location, so plan accordingly!

Service was quick and easy, just a little hard to hear since the cashier is behind the pastry counter. Ordered an iced matcha and walnut sticky bun. Matcha was ok, but the sticky bun was really good! Just wished it was warmed up :(

Cheesecake was good, lemon bar too sweet for my liking, pumpkin bread ...simply AMAZING, worth a trip just for it. Definitely appreciative for the availability of gluten free treats, even with a limited selection.

Review #933 2025-112…read more Cake/Pastry Order: Red Velvet Cake (red velvet layers filled with cream cheese frosting & iced with european vanilla buttercream), Banana Cream Tart (crispy vanilla tart, bananas, vanilla custard, whipped cream topping), Lemon Blueberry Tart (lemon-infused cream, blueberries, lemon-flavored shortbread), Smack Pie (chocolate ganache, marshmallows, salted caramel & salted peanuts topping, graham cracker crust) Finishing this draft from pandemic lockdown with an old review format. Cuisine: Bakery, with select gluten-free desserts. Price: Affordable/cheap. Restrooms: Not sure since indoor dining isn't available. Parking: Large private lot though there's plenty of businesses that it might be busy during lunch/dinner rush. Atmosphere/Service: Casual; polite & efficient service. NOTE: Restaurant has a website & orders can be placed online, though no menu pics for point of reference. Sinners for decadent desserts & saints for gluten-free delights... Sinners & Saints Desserts offers a splurge for a luscious dessert, yet scrumptious for those that need gluten-free treats. Be mindful that their kitchen is not a dedicated gluten-free one, but precautions are taken to minimize cross contamination. I used to work in the area & came across this bakery, but never got around to trying them out. Since my daughter's birthday was coming up, I thought about trying them out since their desserts were beautifully displayed... they should taste good, right? I ordered the current favorite flavor: red velvet, & asked if they could decorate it with pink flowers & birthday message in red. The cake looks plain with just 3 pink roses, but the birthday cursive was pretty good; however, for the price, it wasn't worth eating a super dry cake. Our family of 4 barely ate 1/3, & tried giving it away to our neighbors, who were also unimpressed. The Smack Pie was supposedly a decadent chocolate lover's sinful treat. It was meh... the ganache wasn't silky-smooth but did taste fudgy, the caramel was hard, & the peanuts were stale. We did enjoy the Banana Cream & Lemon Blueberry Tarts to offset the very dry birthday cake. Luckily, I bought these to compensate for the cake so the birthday girl was happy in the end. Sinners & Saints Desserts sounds like a deliciously tempting bakery but some of their goods miss the mark. I don't think I'll be purposely sinning here much. Recommended: Lemon Blueberry & Banana Cream Tarts.
