Nice little quiet cafe with a small selection of books and good coffee and bakeries. We had a cappuccino and sage mint tea with flan cake and two savory bakes. The flan cake was absolutely delicious and rear to find elsewhere highly recommended! The two bakes were delicious as well especially the one with walnut and pepper paste which i also recommend! We heard about LeVant due to the viral Dubai chocolate bar but during our visit we opted to try other items instead. Now that I've had an opportunity to try several treats, the words that keep coming to mind are - elegant, refined, delicate, unique, beautiful, and delicious (of course). We decided to sample two items while relaxing a bit at the darling little cafe. The first, kinafe.. is a favorite of mine that I've had on numerous occasions (read: any chance I get). I've only ever seen it made with cheese filling, which I love, but this time I went with their cream filling option. It was lovely. Hot out of the oven with light, crispy filo, thick cream filling and sweet syrup. It would go particularly well with coffee. We also tried the tres leches rose pistachio cake and it was sublime. Like, eyes-wide-omg-surprise-face levels of good. Light cake, lovely balanced flavors... all drenched in rich, delicious tres leches. I want this cake for my next special occasion - without a doubt. We also took home four different cookies and a little personal sized chocolate pistachio cheesecake for another day. All were lovely. The cookies were tender and delicate with clear and well balanced flavors. They are delightful with tea or by themselves. The chocolate pistachio cheesecake was also outstanding. Rich and flavorful but not heavy and a little crunch from what I think is pressed filo as part of the crust is just wonderful. The ladies working are helpful and friendly, and I noticed backgammon and books presumably to borrow while you relax and chat. There is a large parking lot behind the building as well. Yes, I'm weird.   From the owner of Baklava Oasis (Sunnyvale), comes LeVant Dessert specializing in Middle Eastern desserts. Currently, they're the only place in the bay where you can buy the Dubai Chocolate Bar. Otherwise, you'll have to go to SoCal or buy it on Etsy. Or, make it yourself. (7/25 Update: It can also be found at Hanna's in Pleasanton.)   LeVant Dessert was previously located inside Sultana Mediterranean Restaurant and opened their brick and mortar in January 2024. The sweet filling is balanced by the subtle bitterness of the dark chocolate and savoriness of the tahini. The base shell was too thin tho - when picked up, the chocolate bar bent down on the ends. Also, the chocolate melted pretty quickly (tried it outside). Worth the hype? It was good but for $15 (before tax + tip), I was hoping for a thicker chocolate shell with more filling but everyone has their own preferences.   S E R V I C E The young staff was overwhelmed but did the best they could so kudos to them!   The Dubai Chocolate Bars are made off-site and delivered. Of the many middle eastern cafes in the Bay. Levant's dessert offerings are a cut above the rest. I've tried a number of different ones in San Mateo, Redwood City, Mountain View and San Jose and everyone else's tres leches, baklava and other baked goods etc were very middling to be honest. Fun to try but I wouldn't get them again. However at LeVant, the general quality, balance of flavors, artistry of the baker was significantly higher. (The difference between Satura Cake vs a slightly poorly run Paris Baguette if that analogy makes sense in terms of asian bakeries in the Bay). I'd definitely recommend their desserts and will return to try other flavors. Im also obsessed with unsweetened Yemeni Chai now and will say that theres a middle eastern cafe in mountain views who's Chai is awesome and not as watered down for the American palette as the rest of the Chai is at all the cafes. LeVant's chai wasnt at that level for me but not bad but I'd recommend the desserts over the chai! read more

Dubai Chocolate spotted in the Bay Area! We were thissss close to making it ourselves because we really wanted to try the viral chocolate going around, but luckily @levantdessert is making it so we don't have to! (They also have other delicious items like puddings, knafeh, baklava, drinks, etc.) This chocolate bar consists of toasted kataifi, or shredded phyllo dough, with pistachio cream and tahini to create a delicious filling inside a chocolate bar. Went to the shop to do some work and got myself a Dubai chocolate bar and a latte. The bar is pretty pricey and tastes like a Kit Kat with a hint of pistachio. They do have a lot of pastry options that look good but I didn't try them. There is seating inside and outside. It was a nice environment to get some work done. read more

I came here today at 10:30am and I really like how the cafe is decorated. I came here specifically for the Dubai chocolate, but they told me I had to wait until 11am to order it. In spite of that, I got the watermelon mojito and I thought it was okay. I do like the rice pudding though, they'll ask if you would like cinnamon on top and it tasted great. 11am came around the corner so everyone started lining up and it's only 1 per person. I really love the chocolate and the crunch and fillings inside of it. It lives up to the hype, but I don't think it's worth $15. Same with the small pudding and mojito that both cost $7. I do understand though, the ingredients to make the Dubai chocolate is expensive and there's a high demand for it right now. I'd come back for the chocolate if they price it back to $8 and if you can buy more than one. The drive from San Jose to Menlo Park isn't worth it, but it is worth the try. read more

The best kunafeh around! Love the take and bake option - so that we can enjoy it fresh at dinner parties and the portion sizes are great too. You can get the Kunafeh in multiple customizable styles - with cheese or cream, and coarse or crumbly. The cafe has a nice sit down place, and has snacks like manaeesh and shakshuka etc. We will definitely be returning for brunch soon. Came by for some dessert after dinner with my husband and daughter. The setting was modern and bright with three cute water fountains on the wall. The lady working was very patient as we tried to decide what to try. There were many different baklavas and other desserts. We tried the baklava crown and Magic flan cake. The baklava was crispy with pistachios and rose water- so good! The flan cake had a delicious dense but moist chocolate cake base with a mild flan on top. I needed to be in the area and found an open street parking spot. As I came out, my toddler pointed to this shop and asked to go inside. Since we had about twenty minutes to kill before a scheduled pickup time, I figured why not since I had never noticed this bakery before and who says no to carbs anyway. When we got inside, we stopped to appreciate the beautiful and tasteful decor inside. We particularly enjoyed the three mini water fountain features on the wall upon entering. There's also a number of books lining on the wall, I'm assuming they're for enjoying if you find yourself taking a few moments to yourself over a nice cup of coffee. When we got to the counter, there was a glass case filled with assorted Lebanese inspired desserts (tres leches baklava?!). Clarissa attended to us and patiently waited for us to deliberate what to get, and we chose a number of delicious items, some for dine-in and the rest for to-go. As we wrapped around the counter towards the register, there were a few pastries, and also grabbed a cheese pastry (it's heavenly by the way). Once we got to the register to pay, I asked for Clarissa's name since I wanted to give her a shoutout on here in my review for being so sweet, personable, and helpful. What surprised me was that she was the very first person in all my years Yelping to ask for my name back! That was a very pleasant surprise. There's a large number of adorable seating options inside, ranging from standard tables and chairs to armchairs and coffee tables. There's also two small 2-person tables outside, with is what my 3 year old decided we should be at to enjoy our little treat. My toddler was so excited about our Fudge Cookie, he didn't even want a utensil to dive in. He got a chocolate facial and we finished the whole thing. It's absolutely decadent, best dessert I've eaten in a while. It was so good, we went back inside to grab three more to go for the rest of the family to enjoy. Turns out this spot is brand new (explains why I've never noticed them before), only open for 3 months. And every 5 star review is 100% on point because they are truly phenomenal. The food and dessert are wonderful here but the prices have become unreasonable. I love the Dubai chocolate covered strawberries, but a large (which is not that large) costs more than $20 with tax. They used to do a good job about putting layers of the pistachio spread but for the last few months I've noticed that they only put the pistachio spread on the bottom so you don't even get to taste it with each bite. I just don't think what you get justifies the cost. read more

We came here yesterday to try the famous Dubai pistachio chocolate bar, and everything looked so good that we decided to try the Pistachio Rose Tres Leches cake and the Turkish Coffee! The woman who helped us was so sweet and friendly! The chocolate bar was good, but we probably wouldn't get it again. The Tres Leches cake was delicious and beautiful though- I would come back again just for a slice of it! We liked the Turkish coffee, but it tasted sort of like a cross between coffee and tea. Tried the viral "Dubai chocolate" bar here, $16.50 for a large candy sized stuffed chocolate. It's cold. You need to line up about 15-20 min prior to their distribution times of like 11am and again at 5pm. IMO, it's ridiculous--just make more--why do the limit game. Anyway, the can bar itself is overrated. You could probably get some baklava/the pistachio version; crush it up and pour chocolate over it = same result! Not that sweet and way overpriced. I happened to be in the area for dinner and wanted to find a dessert spot to round out my visit in Menlo Park. I found LeVant Dessert from a Google Search and hurriedly made my way to the place since it was going to close in 30 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful bakery. It was giving French Patisserie, but I saw that they really specialized in Middle Eastern (specifically Lebanese) desserts. I thought it was so cool that they even served Turkish Coffee in hot sand, which was an ancient tradition. I couldn't wait to try a few things! I got a rose cookie, pistachio rose, and a sweet mozzarella roll. I'm a huge fan of rose water, so naturally I loved the fragrant flavor of the cookie. It had an interesting texture - like it melted and disintegrated in my mouth. The pistachio rose was fine. More heavy on the pistachio flavor rather than balanced with the rose essence. The sweet mozzarella roll was my favorite of the 3. The mozzarella had such a nice, smooth texture, and it had a neutral taste that was great for highlighting the sugary syrup. read more

Stay away from this place. The customer service is horrible. You have to go up to the counter to order, and the counter staff just makes you wait, as if they don't have time for you and you're an inconvenience for them. I've been here twice, and one time, even when we were the first to arrive, they still made us wait while the counter person just took her time stirring some coffee beans. And then when they finally ask you what they want, it's not with a smile or a friendly demeanor, it's with a kind of impatient disdain, as if you're bothering them. My guess is that the staff doesn't feel like they're getting paid enough or maybe the owner hasn't trained them well enough but there's no reason to put up with that attitude. On top of that, the food is just average. Right next door is Roma, which not only has better food, but has friendlier customer service, and a couple doors down is Mademoiselle Colette, which has better deserts, and still has friendlier staff. The only reason to go to Levant is for their Dubai Chocolate, and at $17 a bar, it's not that great, especially now that there are several cafes in the San Francisco peninsula offering deserts like that. read more
