I came here and ordered a latte and knafeh. Both were delicious no complaints there. My main complaint is on the service here. To the owner - here's a few I think helpful tips on how to make your business function better and avoid further frustrations by customers. I would've suggested this today but I don't think they would've listened to me anyway. First of all I was at the counter where you actually pick up your food but I thought this is where you order food. Instead it was at the cash register and then bunch of people got ahead of me and ordered ton of food and coffee. Sure common sense but by the way the food display is organized, I wasn't sure if that was where I was supposed to go initially as everyone stood behind me in the line by the other counter where I was! The lady at the front never acknowledged me and went to the cash register and started orders for other customers. Was frustrating when I pointed out that I was the next in line actually. I got in after them at least when I pointed out that I've been waiting before them for a while. So my suggestion is to place a sign at the counter to pick up food noting "pick up food here and order at the cash register" - something along those lines so this mistake can be avoided in the future. Second of all I'm not sure why they give you a number because they don't deliver the food to you. You pick it up. Maybe they should use a name instead. It is quite loud inside from people talking and I didn't hear my number for a while. So I waited on my knafeh about half hour instead of the ~12 mins they said. They reheated it so that was fine but yet another frustrating issue they have here. Maybe have a number on a monitor (they don't have this) display indicating who's getting their food and drinks next so people can see. Or some better announcement system to pick up your own food. If you're outside at the table there I have no idea how you'd hear them call out your number rather than having to go back and forth and see if your items are ready at the counter. Nobody cleaned up this one table full of dishes by me for a long time. And I sprayed my own table from crumbles with hand sanitizer as well. Also a bit disappointing that all food is served with disposable silverware and plates. I mean knafeh is sticky and while it managed fine on this paper plate, I am a bit surprised to see it served on this. I get it, washing dishes is expensive for restaurants just kinda disappointing that this is becoming the norm nowadays in most places offering food and drinks. At least the latte was in a gorgeous glass and I did enjoy drinking it. The place has a very nice decor and the food is good. I do recommend coming here. I'd try more of their food but today's experience was frustrating to say the least. I hope they'll take some input from what I've said and change things around and hope to come back - if they don't super hate me after this review that is. I hate giving bad reviews. Like I said I think the place is nice but yeah fix these little things and you'll have better service! read more

The name "levant" was used to refer to the French mandate over Syria and Lebanon after World War I so the name for this Lebanese cafe is appropriate! They do have Turkish delights but mainly Lots of baklava and nut based desserts! Yum! And Arabic coffee that is quite small and comes in an espresso cup. I asked for it to be medium sweet and was told ok (usually sweetness is added while heating for Arabic coffee) but realized quickly it was not. Its ok, there is a sugar area - i wish they had brown sugar though. My mini coffee and nut dessert (a little bigger than a baklava) was $14. I feel that is high but hey its menlo park. The space is clean, the staff is kind and they have some salty items also and looks like they do catering. More importantly, I think Fairuz was playing which i love! Came here for the famous Dubai chocolate bar and it didn't disappoint! Learned that they're made ready at 11:00am and 5:00pm on the weekends and we were the first in line on Sunday at 5 for them! The bar costs around $15 each and it's one bar per family. As for the bar itself, I thought it was quite good and lived up to the hype. If you're a fan of Hershey's chocolate and pistachio flavored things then this is the treat for you. It also has a nice crunch to it and I loved how the dough was so chewy. The only thing I'll add is that it did taste way better when it was left in the fridge for a bit longer so would definitely recommend storing it in a cool place prior if possible. Wow. LeVant Bakery and Cafe was so delicious. The savory pastries are perfectly seasoned and the desserts are complex and delicious-not too sweet, but still a treat. The first time I went in, I had the privilege of getting Nancy to assist me and she recommended I get the Dubai Chocolate for my niece and a Strawberry Dubai chocolate cup for myself. I was speechless as I ate my my strawberry cup, the chocolate was sweet, warm and flavorful, add in the strawberry, and you have a refreshing delightful experience. My niece has gotten hooked on Dubai Chocolate and always ask me to return back to Levant whenever I'm back in town. You cannot encounter a Dubai chocolate with a similar consistency or mouthwatering taste that leaves you in awe (I've tried several times). As we enjoyed our desserts, we also got to enjoyed the decorations and designs that surrounded the room. It was a calm, peaceful vibe with middle eastern decor that just made the experience even better. The Dubai chocolate was interesting. From my research, the typical Dubai chocolate is much thicker than the very thin layer of chocolate in this preparation. I tried the milk chocolate version and was underwhelmed. I would like to try the dark chocolate version which I think I'd like better. With that being said, the filling was quite good. Sweet, pistachio flavor with crispy bits giving the bite a fun texture. Also tried a kunefe with cheese. Small portion for the price, but crispy with a nice gooey cheese filling and not too sweet. The eggs were fluffy with mint leaves cooked in, and the whole plate is refreshing and healthy. The staff were very friendly and tentative with serving and cleaning up dishes. This review is for the "Dubai" chocolate bar only. Don't get it. When you purchase, it comes refrigerated. It's because they do not know how to temper chocolate and it will melt at room temperature. You can see in the picture the unevenness of the pour and how it looks almost like modeling clay. When you break the chocolate bar open, it folds like limp cardboard rather than a snap. This location is absolutely beautiful, and all of their pastries look delicious. Unfortunately, I'm rating it low based on the service. I ordered two lattes--one with oat milk and one with whole milk. When they handed me both drinks, I asked which one was oat, and the barista nervously smiled and said, "I don't remember." I was so shocked by this response because they should have just offered to remake the drinks, but I was too shy to speak up myself. I had such high expectations, driving 30 minutes away from where I live AND paying $16 for this. From previous reviewers they've increased the price by 200%. There was already a wait at the door by 445, since their two drops are 11am and 5pm. Super disappointed. Not only was the chocolate overpowering, you can't even taste the pistachio. If you could and have the time, make it at home and don't waste your time coming here and paying so much for just a chocolate bar.
