Steaks were delicious. I had the petite filet and was cooked wonderfully with great flavor and paired nicely with the wine. The porterhouse looked great and a very nice shrimp cocktail. There were 5 of us at a booth for 4 that they put a chair on the end (yes we made reservations the day before so I feel they could have planned a better table) this made it so the server could not reach the back spits and was a little awkward to reach over. The server was fair enough but the food and drink was well worth while. It is a quaint and quiet place with a nice ambiance. Very close to the harbor and a neat drive to get there. Right on the corner and is a locals favorite. The fish plate looked good but I am very happy I chose a steak. I would return when I am in the mood for a quiet steak dinner when I'm back in Annapolis. read more

Had a good time with my family celebrating my retirement. Lewnes' took the proper level of precaution during the pandemic and made us feel safe in dining at their establishment. The RibEye steaks and filet mignon were excellent along with the seafood bisque, oysters Rockefeller, lyonnaise potatoes, asparagus and the largest baked potato I've ever seen. The bread was exceptional and the brownie ala mode was delicious. Eric, our waiter was very good. Only complaint was a party of four across the way was way too loud and used foul language while they dined. Can't teach manners to the unmannered no matter how nice the establishment is. read more

OUTSTANDING!! We found Lewnes' on Yelp for a spot to meet our son and his new girlfriend. We flew in from Florida and trusted Yelp to advise us properly and Yelp did a great job. Small, clubby, very "old school steak house" atmosphere. Our reservation where ready for us (always a nice surprise). Elain was our waitress and she was great. Not too intrusive but smart enough to keep us moving along with drinks, bread (which was great), waters etc. Steaks (we had filet) where perfectly cooked and the a la carte sides, which we all shared, where also quite good. Wine selection (by the glass) is limited but ample choice on quality. We finished off with shared desserts (Brownie and Cheesecake) provided ample sugar high for all four of us. I decided to try this place out for my boyfriend's birthday dinner this past Saturday night and man they did not disappoint! We were greeted warmly upon entering and immediately, someone offered to take my boyfriend's coat. I made a note in my reservation that it was his birthday and upon seating, the host made sure to greet him happy birthday. We were quickly seated in the wine room which had a nice, cozy feel to it. The tables were dimly lit so it provides an intimate atmosphere. The place wasn't very loud at all. I enjoyed not having to feel like I had to talk over myself for once! Our waitress was outstanding. I wish I could remember her name but she had glasses and a ponytail. She made sure to list the specials that weren't on the menu and commended our red wine choice. I never felt rushed during her service and we felt well-taken care of the entire time. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye while I ordered the New York strip. Both were cooked to our liking. The creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were hearty and divine. The waitress offered a free dessert at the end of our meal for my boyfriend's birthday. I was surprised she gave us options to choose from, while most places (even the nice ones!) give you something basic. We ended up going with the brownie sundae. I have been going to Lewnes as a regular for more than 11 years. They are amazingly consistent and have the best steak in Annapolis. If you are not into steak, the seared tuna is ridiculous. All the wait staff are friendly and very attentive. This is our favorite place to end up or begin our weekend. read more

While this is supposed to be a high-end Annapolis steakhouse, I was thoroughly unimpressed with what I got for the money. The meat was a great quality and texture, but not seasoned in the least. $7 to add asparagus, which were large fibrous stalks grilled and burned, but not thoroughly cooked. Decent interior aesthetics (dimly lit, wooden furnishings), but there are much better quality dining experiences nearby at a much better value. read more

Great food and attention to detail. We did have to send the porterhouse steaks back for a bit more cooking as well as the veal chop. When the server was asked what was in certain side dishes she replied with "they are not included, they are additional", to which I replied, I asked what was in them not what they cost. Her response was less that elaborate. The entrees were ok, certainly not worth the price. The drinks were week and pedestrian, no special cocktails, an ok wine list. For the final meh, she didn't know certain deserts were not available until after we ordered them. On top of all of this, if you have never been to Eastport, where the restaurant resides, parking is very hard if you are coming after 7. There is NO valet parking offered any longer. The founder is Greek, which is quite interesting for a steakhouse. The filet mignon is by far the best choice here and could also be served Oscar style. The garides, which means shrimp in Greek and Turkish, is served with plenty of rice, which you could substitute with some sauteed spinach. Annapolis is meeting point for family as it's equidistant between far-flung residences. This was our first visit to Lewnes, a well-regarded local business, in lovely Eastport. We came upon recommendation of family members. Matt, our server, was absolutely fantastic! It was the food that left us flat, especially for the cost. We had to send the cowboy ribeye back as it was grossly-undercooked on first try. The second time it was cooked better, but flavorless. The mashed potatoes were good, but runny. The revered spinach a la George was strangely without flavor as well. And the cheesecake went back, tasting like it had been in the fridge too long. The 5 ounce bacon appetizer special was unique and amazing, as was the pecan pie. The fresh bread, to die for. The Daou wine always speaks for itself! I am sure they were just having an off-night.
