It's a nice smaller-sized restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and good food. The prices are good and it's a nice place to have lunch.

We have been reluctant to come in here as this building has changed hands many times. We get attached and then they leave. Now that Lexie's has been here a while, we decided to dip our toes in. Also Paul must have an options of good craft beer. He was not disappointed! Though there are no taps, their selections are A One. He had Jack Abby's Smoke and Daggers which was the best of a coffee aroma beer he had in a while. I had a beanie burger with all my favorite veggies and melted Munster cheese. It was fantastic!! The bread was soft white. They took the essence of a good hamburger and Viola! There it was... the perfect "veggie" burger for me. They do call it an almost veggie burger-didn't ask as I'm not a vegetarian, but prefer veggie meals. Paul is picky about good hamburgers and a bit of a burger snob. He was not disappointed at all with the Green Lantern. The fries were homemade thin and crispy. Ours were the truffled cheese topping ones. Yum. We will be back soon. read more

Went to the place about 2 weeks back with some relatives. It's located right next to Exeter's train station in a white building on the corner on the lower level but it doesn't look like an eatery place. It's a small place that sits about a dozen people and serves basically burgers, it's main meals. It's very good and prices were reasonable though if it can get expensive if you customize your burgers. The fries were more string types and the onion rings were decent size and both were good though it only comes in 1 size, small/medium. The place also serves shakes and have daily specials. Lots of locals and families with kids. It's a good burger place so don't expect anything 'healthy'. Just enjoy the burgers and fries! read more

They've definitely changed their source for burger meat so the fantastic juicy burger dripping all over the bun is gone. Now just an average burger with creative sauces and fixings. The fish sandwich is good; fries and rings are above average. But I came here because of the quality of the meat, and that's gone, so I guess I am too. I went to Lexie's for the first time today and was not disappointed. The cheeseburger was just the right size, cooked to perfection, and with just enough fat to stay moist and juicy. For toppings I chose lettuce, tomato, bacon, avocado, and jalapeño. Clearly, they serve up the best hamburgers on the Seacoast. I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

My wife and I love Lexie's. We have been going to the Portsmouth location for years. When the test kitchen moved into Exeter next to the train station we were all over it. I commute on Amtrak every day and if I order in Haverhill on the way home it's almost always ready by the time we pull into the station. My wife's favorite is the Blue Angel burger and I love all of them! Get the truffle fries and a milk shake. If you want a burger and beer in the Seacoast area, Lexie's is the spot. The seating areas are kind of small so you may have to wait for a while. I'd usually take away a star for that, but these burgers are tasty so I can't. read more

I have been a customer of Lexi's in Portsmouth for a long time and was very excited when Exeter opened. However it lacks the consistency of the Portsmouth location. One time the burger will be very salty, the next the fries will be just short of burnt. I really want to like this location because the owners are great community members but at the end of the day it's not worth the money if you are disappointed in the food. read more

Ordered one cheeseburger for lunch at 12:04 I didn't get my cheeseburger till 12:24 when I ordered he didn't mention anything about being almost 30 minutes for one cheeseburger so I was not happy with the wait, I only have a 30 minute lunch break. However the cheeseburger was very good. My first time there, didn't like the fact that onions we're extra lettuce extra tomatoes extra, I'm surprised they didn't charge me for the ketchup. They had no mustard on the table. My burger was still 4.99 without anything other than cheese. I won't go back ever again, to expensive. read more

This is such a great addition to the Exeter restaurant scene! Love the combinations of burger toppings and hand cut fries. It's nice to be able to get a tasty meal for the whole family without spending a fortune. Prices are extremely reasonable. My only suggestion is a way to serve the burgers so the buns don't get soggy so quickly. I usually pull my burger out of the container and pile a bunch of napkins underneath to prevent the sogginess. read more

Didn't realize the new location didn't have an outside option so we walked there with the pup for some socialization experience and ended up having to do takeout. Food was decent but burger was undercooked for my taste. Husband was fine with his. Ordered onion rings with other local restaurants in mind and found the portion to be extremely small comparatively. It was OK overall and I probably will go back when the urge for a burger arises but not necessarily a have to go to place. read more

It's Lexie's, but it's not as good as the Portsmouth location. They can't seem to get the fries right here. Still great!

We went to Exeter location on a friday, although there were a lot of take outs it wasn't what I would call packed. After standing waiting to be seated for 20 mins at least 10 mins of them while staring at tables that were open we were sat at same as others that came in later. Then we didn't get our menus first as well as not having our order taken first either. So we waited 50 mins in total to get nothing. We told them we were leaving because of the no service and basically was told okay. We will most likely not come back. Need to get better servers who can handle higher volume. I would give no stars but the food is usually good, when you actually get to order it!! read more

It's a small spot but it works! I love that now I don't have to make the trek to Portsmouth to satisfy a Lexie's craving...and you will crave it after you've had it once! I have tried different burgers off their menu and never been disappointed. The bistro fries are a must-get and my absolute favorite but the hot fries are a close second! The milkshakes are delicious, and it's nice that they like to get creative with their special shake of the day and other specials as well. A friend and I were passing through to visit a book store in downtown Exeter. Just happened it was getting late in the day for lunch and we were both chomping at the bit. Now, I've been to Exeter in the past and have been somewhat underwhelmed by the food options, but my friend saw the review for this place on Yelp and we both decided it was worth a shot. Boy am I glad we took a chance on it. This place is more hole in the wall than many. It's in what looks to be an old house, also in what looked to be a primarily residential area. I think I counted less than ten tables in the place. Place was packed at 2PM on a Saturday afternoon. That said, even with a party in front of us, we waited only five minutes. Most of the patrons in the place seemed to be teenage students from Phillips Exeter (I know, shocker right?) but there were a few adults. I think I brought the age in the place up by at least 20 years (and I'm not THAT old....). Anyhow, a quick scan of the pretty simple menu yielded an order of two burgers and a couple of baskets of their special fries. I got the bistro fries and my friend got the truffle fries and we just shared. Fries came out within ten minutes of us ordering followed pretty quickly by the burgers. The burgers were cooked very well. They were just good old fashioned home-style cooked burgers. Great beef. My burger was the special of the day and had caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and was topped off by crispy onion rings and what they call hush sauce (tasted like a variation on thousand island dressing). The other thing I noticed is that they use potato buns for their burgers. They hold together better than the typical hamburger bun which makes it much easier to eat. The fries were great, some of the best topped fries I've had. Seriously, we couldn't stop eating them. Overall, this place gets pretty high ranking from me and I've been to quite a few burger places. It is easily one of the better lunch options in Exeter. A bargain too! Next time I am in town I will definitely be going back. read more

The service here was terrible. My party waited for nearly an hour to be seated and multiple parties that came AFTER us were seated BEFORE us. When we were finally seated, the waitress was very short with us and sped our meal up. Did not appreciate this kind of service at all. read more
