Pistachio Crepe Roll was decadent!
Edward K.

Store is clean and bright. Workers were polite and talented at making the desserts. We went with pistachio crepe and the peanut butter waffle. Pistachio crepe was our favorite, it was decadent and filled with chocolate goodness! The ice cream didn't hurt either. The peanut butter waffle was also quite good, although I recommend adding a scoop of ice cream to that as well.

Very extensive menu , the service was excellent and my order was prepared in front of me fresh I will definitely return to try the fruit cup with chocolate

Sushi crape

Would always recommend this sweet treat the best my go to there's so many options not only crapes they have milkshakes waffles they have chocolate covered fruit it's the best they always have new items very good price and nice people

Oreo Crepe

Had a few friends in from out of town and were looking to satisfy our sweet tooth cravings and ended up here! We'd gotten two items: the brownie sushi crepe and the oreo crepe (both paired with nutella). Very very sweet and indulgent, so fantastic for the occasional treat. There was no shortage of oreo... the oreo crepe was STUFFED with them! Each crepe is served with ice cream too. Next time I come back, I want to try one of the lotus crepes which is made using biscoff cookie butter.

Lotus waffle... I'm drooling!
Preeti D.

I used to love this place back when it was Nefista! Thankfully they still do the cig kofteh and I highly recommend getting the spicy ones. Definitely get the pomegranate sauce, and add onions and walnuts to your wrap - and thank me later! In terms of the chocolate, we've only tried the lotus waffle, but holy moly. It is. So. Good. The layers of chocolate plus the crunch of the lotus root sprinkles... heaven! We've gone back for it - the second time we went, they didn't have dark chocolate (we usually sub the white choc for dark instead). I hope that was just a one time thing and that they have dark chocolate available generally. The service has always been great. It's a small spot so keep that in mind. We usually do take out but have the waffles in store so they're fresh. Anyway, I wish this wasn't so far from me - or maybe that's a good thing because I'd be there literally weekly.

The 5-star rating holds up to the desserts and experience. I ordered the Strawberry Banana Chocolate Crepes. It was an excellent combination of lightly sweet crepe, nutella chocolate hazelnut taste, and fresh sliced strawberries and bananas. I've had a similar one at the nutella cafe and other places never came close to that signature taste and quality. LeyRa definitely comes close and I'll be coming back often. Service was super friendly and they have a large menu. Overall, I highly recommend folks to try Leyra. Pros - Fresh fruits and high quality crepes - Well thought out dessert combinations which taste great - Large dessert menu with lots of options - Nice place to eat and chill - Friendly service and clean restaurant Cons - None Overall Review: 5/5

Leyra Chocolate Storefront and Entrance

If there's one thing that all fans of Bill Hader as SNL's Stefon know, it's that ... New York's hottest chocolate boutique is ... LeyRa ... Confectioner Osman Ersen has gone all out. This place has everything: waffles, crepes, sticks, dips, cups, and a cocoa troika. Cocoa troika? You know, that thing when a palate pleasure place has THREE chocolate fountains to finally answer the question, "You know what'd be even cooler than the Bellagio?". That's right. This tiny shop on MacDougal between Greenwich Village and SOHO is the all new hotspot for cream puffs, chocolate shots, and decadent dreams designed dessert-by-dessert to destroy diets while drinking a diet coke. LeyRa has everything: Milk, Dark, White, Nutella, Belgian, Sweet, Bittersweet, Semi-sweet, Too-sweet. Bonus: For the Instagram kids, there's a special wall with neon and flowers where you can binge your weight in chocolate like a boss ... 's girlfriend. Extra bonus: All your pics will finally help people stop calling chocolate hot and start calling it beautiful ... or haute with a "u" and superfluous "e'. Stefon everyone! Hoping all of you find your true loves this weekend ... fine chocolate from Belgium at a palate pleasure place like LeyRa Chocolate.

Kofta plate to build your own lettuce wraps. More than enough for 2 people

Come here for their bulgur wheat kofta! It's vegan and bursting with flavor. You can build your own lettuce wraps with them, which makes the experience even more entertaining. I'm sad they had to change their business to a dessert shop, but I'm glad they at least kept the koftas on the menu!

Pistachio Crepe Roll

I've been a huge fan of chocolate dipped waffles and am so glad this place opened up! I used to go to Chocolate Dip but their primary demographic was young middle schoolers who kept trashing the place and I remember the establishment blatantly disregarded Covid restrictions when covid was still at its peak. Leyra Chocolate has a much cleaner seating area with all the photo ops including a flower wall and a Willy Wonka inspired mural. My only qualm is that they don't have a clear sign out front so I kept walking past it. They have milk, white, and dark Belgian chocolate that taste heavenly. I got a milk chocolate waffle stick for $6 and it came with a cup of vanilla ice cream to my delightful surprise! It was the best waffle I've ever had! So crispy and fluffy that I had to stop for a second from the shock of how good it was! I also got the pistachio crepe roll that came with brownies, strawberries and a cup of vanilla ice cream for $13 I think. It's definitely a show stopper. Crepes aren't my favorite in general but this one was rolled really nicely and tasted great. You definitely get your money's worth. I noticed they had a cookie waffle and cream puffs on the menu so can't wait to try them!

GWOW!! My fiance and I were in the mood for dessert and we are soo happy we came across LeyRa Chocolate!! They're opened late and the menu is to die for. I ordered the strawberry waffle with milk & white Belgian chocolate. I literally almost licked the container. Sooo delicious!! This is our new spot.

Oreo waffle with whipped cream ( ice cream is on the side )
Laura L.

This is so decadent! I ordered an Oreo waffle with whipped cream. It comes with Oreos, a chocolate of your choice ( I chose Nutella), and ice cream, which I asked to out on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. The staff are super nice!

Yummy

Seating is limited, so be prepared to share space at the bar top along the side. If you are lucky, you might snag one of the small tables or, even better, one of the highly coveted couches that double as the perfect backdrop for social media photos. Here is what we ordered: - Einspänner: 3.5/5 stars. An upscaled version of an Americano with cream - Deep Black Latte: 3.5/5 stars. Also, a single-shot based drink. Would have preferred a second shot of espresso for a more balanced flavor. The cacao notes are prevalent. - Blooming London: 3.5/5 stars. One shot of espresso with exceptionally thick foam. The vanilla syrup was overwhelming, and the taste of the Earl Grey in the cream was underwhelming. - Chocolate chip cookie: 3/5 stars. Pretty average - Madeleine: 3/5 stars. Decent, but nothing memorable Parking is metered, and they do have unisex restrooms available.

I noticed that Mavi's has installed wall mounted televisions, which scroll menu items, specials, and upcoming events. This was my first time ordering from their brunch menu and it was outstanding. My Western Omelette (ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, egg, potato, arugula, almond slices) was an excellent choice. Every ingredient was fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it was accompanied by a side salad and two large slices of multigrain bread. The other items were the artistically presented Avocado Salad (Avocado, tomato, onion crisp, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, arugula mixed salad, almond slices with balsamic glaze and sesame dressing) and the Toowoomba Shrimp Donkatsu (crispy, golden-fried cutlet smothered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun Toowoomba sauce with shrimp, onions, and mushrooms, served alongside a half-portion of pasta). This dish is succulent, creamy, pleasantly spicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll never dine at Mavi's without ordering a Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, mushroom, bulgogi beef, kimchi, scallion, spicy mayo drizzle). Not only does every ingredient dance in your mouth, but the soft beet infused crust makes this one of the best pizzas I've happily savored.

I was excited to finally order dinner after hearing good things, but my husband and I were unfortunately disappointed with the experience. We ordered takeout for dinner: Toowoomba Shrimp Pasta with Tonkatsu and the Spicy Original Tteokbokki (rice cakes) with Fried Kim-ma-ri (fried seaweed rolls). The shrimp pasta had good flavor but the portion was way too tiny. After only three or four bites, it was gone. There were about 4 pieces of shrimp in the entire dish and they could've added more pasta, given that it's not an expensive ingredient. The tonkatsu was also underwhelming. It was a small piece served in a large container that made the portion size look even more skimpy. I was also disappointed in the tteokbokki. It was mostly sauce with no egg and only a few pieces of fish cake, again served in a container that was far too large for the amount of food provided. The kim-ma-ri pieces were fine but also very small. Overall, the meal was underwhelming. For a total cost of nearly $50, the quantities were just way too small. We were left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry.

The food was fantastic and you can tell everything is made with fresh ingredients and a lot of love. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak omelette, the spicy house burger, and the Malaysian peanut corn pancake--every single dish was excellent. Even the little details stood out. The sweet potato fries were fresh and perfectly fried, and the burger patty had those crispy edges with the perfect char that make a burger really special. Their house specialty drinks are also worth mentioning. They have these freshly squeezed fruit matcha juices that taste incredibly fresh and thoughtfully made--nothing like the overly sweet, mass-produced drinks you get at most tea shops. And Jessie, the hostess, really made the experience memorable.
