Teriyaki Eel - Japanese Savory Crepe
    Carla A.

I've been wanting to try these for a while now and so glad I did! I got the small size Teriyaki Eel Crepe; delicious. Definitely worth a try if your in the Dyckman & Inwood area

Clasic Crepe Just discovered this new place over the weekend and I love it.

Just discovered this place over the weekend and in loving it. Very clean cute space and delicious crepes.

This is a picture before it opened. They have a bench outside now and a small table inside. Love the sign.

This place is new to the neighborhood and I couldn't be more excited. I ordered the berry berry and it was delicious, fresh, and made to order. The place is small and offers limited seating but that's okay. They currently only offer sweet crepes but plan to offer savory crepes soon. Great addition to Inwood! I highly recommend checking it out.

Hidden gem! After a long walk through Fort Tryon Park, the açaí bowl and dessert crepe we ordered were both delicious!

It would not have been such an inconvenience if it wasn't raining and there was no place to stand for 2 hours. I hopped back on the subway as my only option as I was hungry, cold and wet. After taking the wrong direction to Marcy Ave and getting back on track decided to come back. Got here and asked for the NY Cheesecake crepe with Carmel instead of chocolate and he said he has to CHARGE me for Carmel instead of chocolate. Huh! I explained that I took the subway twice $3 each way because when I got here, the food delivery truck was outside delivering boxes and the sign said opening a 1 pm. Mind you I already said it was my second time here today when I walked in. Really!?! Terrible customer service!!!!!! I'm from out of town but yikes! I left Times Square to visit this small business in the rain. The $19 crepe was decent.

Being only a few blocks away and rated fairly high, Creperie popped up on my search so I knew I had to stop by on one of my evening walks back from the office. Although a rather tiny little shop, Creperies manages to still have some very limited seating right outside. As well as counter space inside the shop if you don't mind standing and crowding with other people waiting for their orders. I ordered the Strawberry and Banana crepe as it seemed to be a popular option. Size-wise, this crepe is pretty hefty and filling. Comes in an aluminum container so it's much less messy to grab and go. Although sweet, I felt the crepe itself was just ok. Nothing about it really stood out nor made it particularly memorable. They offer both sweet and savory crepes here if you want to make a meal out of it.

Not to mention, two crepes made for (surprisingly) a lot of food. I ordered the Crispy Shrimp Tempura and the Spicy Crabmeat, plus a Thai iced tea and a dark chocolate milkshake. The biggest difference from traditional French crepes is the shell, as it was slightly crisp on the outside but soft and chewy inside, thanks to the rice flour. It holds savory fillings well without getting soggy. - For the shrimp crepe, the tempura kept its crunch, and the sauces added sweetness and heat without overpowering everything else. - The Spicy Crabmeat leaned richer and creamier with a mild kick. - Both were satisfying without feeling overly heavy. - The Thai iced tea was classic and sweet, and the dark chocolate milkshake was thick and indulgent. Service was quick and efficient -- you order at the counter, and the crepes come out neatly wrapped and easy to eat. The staff was friendly and helpful when answering menu questions. Ambiance is casual and compact, very St Mark's energy. Limited seating, mostly quick-bite style, and good for grabbing something while walking around the neighborhood rather than lingering. However, I was among the lucky few who did get a table, so I enjoyed everything there. I'd definitely come back again to try their other crepes.

The menu has a wide variety of options, both savory and sweet, and honestly, everything sounds amazing. I ordered the strawberry Nutella, which was a great, safe choice, but I definitely think their more unique flavors like red bean and match would be better. Service was super quick. There are only about three tables inside, so it's not really a place to hang out for a long time--especially on weekends, when it can get a bit crowded and messy.

Everything was nicely presented and seems of good quality; I wanted to eat all the foccacia sandwiches and pizza slices I walked by! Their m pre-packed veggies and proteins were super convenient and tasty. The shrimp salad was pricey but the shrimp pieces were big and perfectly cooked, simply dressed in olive oil and herbs. I came back an again for their broccoli rabe as well, nicely textured with a slight heat from the chili flakes-- so tasty even cold! Patrons can also sit down and enjoy a freshly made meal in the store too. The seating is right in the middle of the store, so one might get brushed by shopping baskets. There was a cafe and gelato spot as well. The workers were friendly and cheerful :) There's a self checkout that people seem to forget about near the checkout counter. I struggle to enjoy the food, which is kind of bizarre. Their gelato tastes like it is held together with a non-dairy thickener like guar gum. Their $22 rotisserie chicken is no where's as tasty and tender as the $10 rotisserie chicken at Whole Foods. Their pizza slices are creatively and beautifully crafted, but the vast majority have only a very slight coating of tomato sauce which you cannot taste, and little to no mozzarella. I don't enjoy their $10+ slices nearly as much as the $4 slice down the street. Everything that I order there looks better than it tastes. To be fair though, I have not had a sit-down meal there in a long time. Several years ago I did order a roast beef sandwich at their carving station, and it was nearly 50% hard white fat. WTF. I feel like I just can't win when I try their food. But I LOVE going there so I keep trying. When all is said and done, I love the place. Sometimes they have music and/or tastings, which are fun. So more recently, I just buy a yogurt or cappuccino and enjoy the space. ps: I have a theory that a hedge fund bought the chain and is running the show by the numbers. Just a theory. But if so, why invest all that money just to destroy it? pps: Why put artificial thickener into gelato? Is that what they do in Italy? Do Italian grandma's have a special home cooked recipe for "guar gum"?

After patronizing the restaurant for few years, for the first time I sat at a different table. As I was about to ask to it at my usual table, I figured try something new to view the restaurant in a new vantage point. The melodic instrumental upbeat jazz music sets the mood. This time I noticed for the 1st time there is a tapestry on the wall near my usual seating. Hadn't noticed it before. Also, noticed the outdoor garden seating area. Ambiance is still cozy, casual and warm. The food par usual is delightful. Bountiful, with varied notes and flavorful is the Cassoulet Toulousain with a side of spinach. It's a winner every time. I swear the next time I am going to try another dish but why mess with perfection. I opted for a zero proof house made Natural Hibiscus Ginger drink and water. Service is always A+ with Christoph.

It feels like an idealistic college student who loves the movie Amelie went to France and decided to bring their doey-eyed experience back to the states. Everything about the location is fun, clean, bright, and open (versus the reality of tightly packed, dimly lit, and sometimes gritty cafes in France). The food is consistent, very fresh, with customizable and healthy options, like buckwheat flour, fresh vegetables, and lemon honey instead of sugar. Even the basement bathroom has that vibe, from bright colors in the "underground cave" seating to beautiful framed photos/posters and thematic wallpaper, to the way too clean, way too spacious restrooms with full sized changing tables! It's like Paris but nice, for Americans!!! Service was fantastic, everything came out quickly, and they've got good mid-week discounts that could definitely appeal to families and students. It doesn't feel like a street vendor or a real cafe, but I wouldn't hesitate to come again for a fresh, healthy meal or snack--or when those crepe cravings hit and you need a fix now!
