First, always make a reservation, you're seated with ease, however, we went for dinner on a Thursday and I don't think there would have been a wait if we didn't have a reservation. Liberty Common was a highly recommend dining location when I planned my trip to Nashville. The atmosphere is so pretty, with a French-Southern flare. The wallpaper is so fun and flooring is so fun, great place for photos! For dinner, we started with Fried Pickles, which honestly was my favorite part of the whole dinner. The smoked aioli was so tasty! Amongst our chosen entrees was a mix of Brunch Burgers, Chicken and Waffles and Salad with Trout. I will say the breading on the chicken was dark and possibly burnt. Two people at the table ordered the chicken and waffles, and they both said the same thing about the chicken. No complaints from the two that ordered the brunch burger, so that's good. Nashville Did Not Disappoint! As an Avid Wine drinker, I needed a place to satisfy my red wine cravings. So after My "Country Music Hall of Fame" tour and experience, I found this Delightfully Quite and lovely place during Happy Hour. The Staff were welcoming and pleasant to speak with. I had been wanting to go to this place for a while and finally got my chance a few weeks ago with friends. Aesthetically, it's so pretty! From the inside and out. It's right next to the Hampton Social and if you park in their deck and get your parking validated here it is only $6 for up to three hours of parking. We ended up staying a little longer and our parking was around $10 but we still got a deal considering it should have been $20-30 probably. We had reservations and were seated in a side room. It was so loud! It sounded like everyone was screaming at other tables. This is probably the only reason they don't get the full 5 stars from me. My friends and I shared the fried pickle appetizer. It was delicious. Then I got the American burger with a side of frites. My friend Joy and I split our sides. She got the side salad with their house made dressing. I loved that salad! It was simple yet so elevated by the dressing. The frites were the super thin and crispy kind. Not my favorite, but the portion size was huge. Probably enough for three people honestly. My burger was delicious. Two beef patties, cheese, and bacon. We had discussed getting dessert but ended up being too full for it. They had lots of yummy looking options though! I absolutely love discovering brunch places where the aesthetic matches the quality of food. This spot checks both boxes. The atmosphere and food exceeded my expectations. If you like brunch classic with a southern twist, this is the place for you. They have a parking deck that is shared with the Hampton Social which is $6 for 3 hours once validated. Reservations are highly recommended especially for the weekend. I made a reservation for a party of 4 and was seated immediately. Our server was very attentive and informed thoroughly on the menu. The only negative is that the server didn't wear a mask and was extremely close to our party because of the noise level in the restaurant. My table ended up ordering the Waffle Madame, which I highly recommend! A twist on the classic croque madame and everything melded wonderfully flavor wise. I would definitely order that again. I honestly could take or leave the truffle fries that I order as my side. The chicken and waffle was also ordered and the star was the perfectly seasoned and tender, juicy chicken. Once we reached the front door, there is a beautiful floral mural to the left side of the main door which felt so welcoming. Once inside there was such a beautiful ambience with floral scents and cute Christmas decor. Met some people here for a Sunday brunch and immediately fell in love with the space. Such gorgeous decor. Then the love stopped. Service started slow, but still seemed promising. I forgave this as not all in our party had yet arrived. Unfortunately, it didn't improve. When making reservations, I had noted a jazz band would be performing during part of our visit. I couldn't see them once I arrived, and couldn't hear them as one should acoustically either. So even though they ended their performance early, it didn't matter anyway from where we were seated. Not in the mood for breakfast-y foods, I decided to order the Liberty Burger. When it arrived, I was a surprised at how small it was for what I thought was going to cost $13.00. (Think back to Table 3's $5.00 duck burger -- yeah, same size.) One of my tablemates ordered the same and thought it was too small also. It tasted wonderful though. When there's no need to add any condiment to a burger, that's a darn good burger. The frites weren't exciting at all, but not terrible. I grew tired of our increasingly lackluster service when my beverage sat empty for a long time. Thankfully there was water available. What sent me over the edge was the bill. They rang up the wrong beer that was $2.00 more expensive than what had been ordered AND charged $16.00 for the burger! Our server agreed to correct the beer mistake (and did), but told me I ordered the double Liberty Burger, not the single. When I challenged him on this, he then said if it's not specified at the time of ordering a "double is assumed, and a double is what you got." Wow. So observant and classy of him. He didn't deliver any of the food to our table, or consume my burger for me. How the heck does he know what I actually received? Many of my fellow diners had issues with their invoices as well; some with additional taxes/fees that no one could account for. Ah, to top it all off, the parking. Their reservation site indicates you can park next door in the 222 garage for 2.5 hours for only $5.00. Almost $17.00 later, we were driving away. False advertisement. Absolutely ridiculous. No, the beautiful decor and delicious burger couldn't even save a star for this place. Nashville has so many other wonderful places that will check all the boxes. Skip this one. read more

HARD PASS. We came in for brunch & the menu looked pretty interesting. One person in our group has dietary restrictions & requested a scrambled egg with cheese and mushrooms. The waiter said they could not add anything into the eggs -- like nothing. We pointed out that there was an option on the menu that said "eggs any style" and another option that said "egg, gruyere..." The waiter was adamant that while the plates were cooked to order, Liberty could not mix in anything to the eggs. For us, scrambled eggs w/items mixed in is a pretty basic brunch request for a full service restaurant.... except maybe for Liberty? ... just beware if you want something that perhaps isn't EXACTLY what's on the menu.... 2.5 I was going to be generous with three stars but the odd accounting on my bill forces me to round down. I want Liberty Common to work much more than it did for me but I definitely don't want to leave and feel taken advantage of. That's a bummer. It has some key highlights (namely: location and decor) but the overall takeaway was that there are some things lacking. I'll explain. I met some folks for brunch and, on Sundays, there's a live jazz band to add to the ambiance. I appreciated the effort but the acoustics were overpowering. LC is blessed with beautiful floors, high ceilings and windows and/or mirrors on the wall. That makes for gorgeous 'gram photos. It also makes for a deafening sound trap. For as talented as the musicians were, I was glad when they finished. Through no fault of their own, the music was just too loud and not at all conducive for having a conversation. Sitting down, I knew eating would be a bit of a chore. The brunch mention is very gluten heavy. Even though my waiter tried to dissuade me of the notion by suggesting the quiche, when I asked if the crust was made me with flour he acquiesced that it was. I also made a note not to trust his gluten-free suggestions. So, as much as I wanted to get pancakes, waffles, fried chicken, or a burger, I settled on the cheese grits and pomme frites (online menu price $5, I was charged $6). These pomme frites were much thinner than I was expecting (no freshly cut potatoes here) but they were seasoned nicely and very addictive. Everyone at the table enjoyed their serving. Mine didn't come with a dipping sauce. I was fine with that but if you need ketchup or mayo, know to ask for it. The grits... were not successful. I just can't abide a restaurant in the south that can't execute grits. I don't trust the chef. These grits were neither creamy nor seasoned. The cheese was not integrated into the dish, rather it was served melted on top (like a French onion soup). I don't mind a coarse grits preparation but these were almost... pebbly? The other fellow at the table who got grits didn't care for his either. The drink menu was much more successful and, in hindsight, I should have had a liquid brunch and kept it moving. I began with Le Dernier Papillon (online price $11, I was charged $12). Served in a coupe, this was a balanced and boozy gin cocktail (aided by the absinthe-adjacent genapi, color from the sour cherry and tart kick from the lime). I looked and tasted great. I should have stuck with it. Instead, I moved on to the Jean Tonique (online/menu price $10, I was charged $11). Served in a highball, this was/is a nicely fizzy strawberry-hibiscus gin & tonic. It was a bit sweet for the mouthfeel but nothing offensive. Coming from the previous drink, however, it was a bit jarring. My tablemates had some billing/accounting errors that I, obviously, should have paid more attention to. Of note: the taxes are broken up/itemized but they add up to the standard 9.25%. So, two drinks, grits, fries, tax, and tip came to just shy of $50. I know SoBro rents are high but this was a surprising price point for what I received. I'd come back to Liberty Common for post-work drinks but I'd keep an eye on the bill. There's potential here but I can't say that it makes sense just yet. read more

Let me just start with this... it's as cute as could be. The mid-century modern decor is everything I love in a vibe. However, this place is just okay. We came for happy hour in December and their only cocktail specials were $7 spritz and $7 frozen drinks, which was a little disappointing because it just seems so summery. They appear to have an excellent bar selection so I'm not sure why they don't do a more seasonal cocktail menu. Anyway, the Liberty burger & fries were good. My friend got the fried chicken and said that was good too. Service, just okay. Overall.. I found this place yelping and the place looked beautiful with baby blue decor so I decided to try. I ordered avocado toast and latte because people left good reviews on avocado toast, and my boyfriend had American breakfast with coffee. I was kind of surprised that the food came fast. My avocado toast was good but the bread was cold and wasn't toasty but rather soft, it seems like they pre toasted the bread and my latte wasn't hot either. My boyfriend's plate had bacon, potatoes, biscuit but they were all cold like they pre-made those things then they just added eggs, because eggs were the only thing that was hot and fresh. And the server never refilled the coffee until I asked. Too bad that it's a such a beautiful place but the service is ok and the food looked good but it tasted less than average...
