Came here for bachelorette brunch on CMA weekend Saturday! They have cute patio seating and still seemed to have some tables available. Interiors chic and cute, more laid back than lit vibes. The food was just mediocre, apart from the cafe mousseux (vodka coffee drink with cold foam on top) and the liberty chicken sandwich (Nashville hot - good kick, not too spicy). Our friend asked for a croque madame without the ham, and it looks pretty unappetizing with the bread dry and cheese unmelted. Liberty common got our business purely by default. When my original plan for Sunday brunch with my girls at Hampton Social did not turn out as planned (no appointments), we decided to head on to this next door restaurant. Wow what a true gem. Food/drink: They offer a variety of southern comfort foods with some French classics dishes. I ordered the American breakfast and it was amazing. My plate consisted of crispy potatoes, scrambled eggs, delicious crunchy bacon, 2 doughy biscuits and a side of strawberry jam and butter to top it all off. Of note, the bacon can be substituted for sausage, and the biscuits can be substituted for toast. Like T.I. would say: "You can have whatever you like" haha. My meal was good except for the eggs which were a bit bland to me, without much seasoning. However salt, pepper, and hot sauce can be provided upon request if need be. Needless to say, I enjoyed my food. I drowned my meal with a cup of rich and dark Americano coffee. The café Mousseaux was a tasty alcoholic drink. They don't have a kids menu, but are willing to accommodate upon request. We ordered some fried chicken kid meal with ranch sauce for your half human guest. Service: Great customer service. Our server was very polite, attentive and friendly. Environment: This is a chic cafe in SoBro with a chill and relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant has a beautiful decor. From the baby blue leather couch to the gold accent, to the lovely plants, and the marble countertop on the dining table, everything about the interior design of this place was elegant and classy. Parking downtown is a hassle but they have a discounted price $6 for 3 hours for their public parking space that they share with Hampton Social. Overall, I would recommend this place. The mimosas were great, but the dishes themselves did not impress, especially for the price. The grits were a bit bland and the brunch bowl was 90% kale...for $16. I definitely wasn't super thrilled about that! I do know that some of the ladies enjoyed their waffles and avocado toast, but it seems like a bit of a money grab, being in such a central location. We made reservations about 3-4 weeks prior and got a time slot right when they opened! They kindly stored all of our suitcases (10 of us girls) behind the host stand while we were seated. I went here for a Sunday brunch with friends. I loved the decorations and feel of the place, it was like being in a Parisian restaurant. They also have a huge outdoor area and since it's right across from Ascend you can hear the music on nights with concerts. I got a coffee, the pancakes, and grits. Went for just a small snack. We both ordered the grilled Caesar salad with grilled chicken. So normally I don't order chicken with my salads because it's normally prepared poorly (no flavor) or they only give 2 or 3 pieces. This salad was delicious and the chicken was so good. We stopped in on a Sunday morning for brunch (our daughter-in-law had made reservations). We were seated promptly. It was somewhat busy, which was understandable since the SEC basketball tournament was in town, but it wasn't overly noisy. Fortunately, we had reservations or we would've had to wait 1-2 hours for brunch. Inside looks pretty much like the rest of Nashville restaurants, modern farmhouse. The food wasn't bad, pretty average. But was disappointing was they were out of oysters! The main reason we made reservations. We tried their cinnamon rolls and the flavor was good, but it was hard. I prefer softer, fluffy rolls. For my entree I had the hot chicken biscuit sandwich and fries. Surprisingly the hot chicken order was good! Moist and good flavor-perfect kick. However, the biscuit was again, hard. During COVID-19: I came here during Christmas week visiting my family. It was suggested to try this place so my mom, family friend and I stopped in on Sunday for brunch. It was cool outside so no one was sitting outside on the patio, but I imagine sitting on the patio in the spring or summer would be nice since you get a nice view of the riverfront. We sat inside at one of the booths, and were socially distant from our nearest neighbor, though I did notice some tables that were closer than I would have preferred, but since my table was good, I was good! Since I had just gotten off a plane a few hours earlier, I started with an americano with bourbon; I later moved to a Manhattan for the rest of brunch. It was perfect. We started with biscuits and I decided to get the chicken and waffles with hot chicken. OMG it was so good!!! Let's start with the biscuits which were perfectly flaky and tasted delicious with their homemade jam. Then my chicken and waffle.....woo so good. If you like sweet and spicy, get the chicken and waffle with hot chicken. It had a kick! If you aren't a fan a spice, stick with the regular. My mom ended up getting a waffle with a side of fruit, which was perfect for her since she doesn't eat too much. My only regret is that I did not get a side of grits. I would like to come back here when I'm in town to try some of their other breakfast items, and also to try their dinner picks. They have oysters and I would love to come grab oysters and a cocktail when I'm in town again. read more

Sunday mid-morning after church. Me, my wife and daughter. Seated quickly. Interesting place. Background music sounds like something from the Roaring twenties. Not horribly loud, but loud enough to be heard. The place wasn't overly busy, so it wasn't too noisy to prevent any conversation. Waiter was initially quickly to the table. Took our drink orders and disappeared. Took him a bit longer than we expected to come back and take our order. But, once he did, the food came rather quickly. I ordered the "Waffle Madame", which is ham, sunny side egg, waffle, gruyere along with fries. The waffle, egg and ham was really good. Egg cooked just enough to be sunny side up, but not runny. The fries (pommes frites) were OK. Tasted like a vinegar flavoring had been added to them, similar to the old Arthur Treacher's fries (Geez! Am I showing my age!?) Anyway, could've done without the vinegar flavoring. Just my opinion. My wife and daughter both ordered the "Plat Americain", two eggs, bacon, home fries and biscuit. They both enjoyed their order. My daughter ordered a Classic Mimosa. She said it was good. My wife ordered tomato juice, and enjoyed it. We both ordered coffee. I think that was the only disappointing thing. The first cup was tepid. When I requested it be warmed up, he brought a new cup. However, it just did not taste very good. I'm not a coffee snob, but it tasted like it had too much water, or bad tasting water. Anyway, the food was good. The environment was interesting and well lit. But, the prices reflect the location. Downtown, so rent is high. $19 for an egg, waffle and some ham....well. I guess you are paying for the food as well as the whole experience. I'd recommend it if $$ are not a consideration, and you want an interesting place to eat. read more
