We were looking for a New York style pizza joint and we definitely found one. We came in at about 6:30 on a Friday night and were surprised to see that inside is kind of like a pizza, bar and grill sort of vibe. There's nothing wrong with that at all I'm just saying that for reference. There were a few kids eating there and it was fine but I think as the night goes on it might be a little less appropriate for kids given the atmosphere. All that aside, mostly everything was great! We began with the Calamari and it was very good. A light crispiness on each piece and the peppers were a nice touch. And the marinara was fabulous. We shared the Parmigiana Sandwich with chicken and, oh my gosh. It was amazing. Juicy chicken, flavorful sauce, soft bread. Delicious. We also shared a 14" half cheese/half pepperoni pizza and it was good. Amazing sauce and fresh dough rolled out New York style. Because I'm a sucker for pasta salad I had to try theirs and it was bad. It had zero flavor and was dry. It did not taste fresh in any way, shape or form. Speaking of form, some of the noodles were curved from the container they came out of. Meaning, they had been sitting at least a day, which I am surprised by, because pasta salad is like the easiest thing to make. The wine selection wasn't the best. But what surprised me was that they served non-alcoholic drinks that contain THC. I'm not sure if they had any other non-alcoholic drinks aside from that but that was my first time seeing it on regular restaurant menu. I didn't mind. We ordered food for delivery the next weekend and the pizza was not as good. It was a little raw and doughy throughout the center. So while I won't recommend them for take out, the restaurant experience was good. Our server was attentive. Overall, it was a nice dinner out.

Librettos is serving up New York style Pizza for sure ! Mike the owner makes everything great & with love & you can tell he truly cares about pleasing and taking care of his customers! Everything we tried here was bursting with flavor ! One bite and you feel like you have been transported to the bustling streets of NY city . Outisde of the NY style pizza our favorite was the stuffed pinwheels . The combination of peppers, onions , cheese & sausage had my tastebuds having a full blown party because it was jam packed with plenty of flavor so I highly recommend the pinwheels . Soon they will have small plate/tapas options which I am excited about . Give them a try and enjoy a slice of the big apple right here in the Queen City !

Had an amazing experience here this past Saturday Night! Great people, staff and service! Food was delicious and service was very friendly! We'll be back soon!

I came here for Junior's NYC Deli! Located inside Libretto's Pizzeria is Junior's NYC Deli. The deli sandwich options are located on the restaurant menu with the rest of the pizzas, etc. So I was a little confused about the process. I guess I was expecting an actual deli counter inside the same building as the pizzeria or something? I'm not quite sure what I was expecting to be honest. Either way, both of these business are located in the same kitchen under the same roof. CHOPPED CHEESE! I've been wanting to try a chopped cheese for as long as I have been following Matty Matheson and this was the place to get one! My first chopped cheese experience will definitely not be the last. It's basically ground beef chopped up fine smothered with melty cheese along with toppings of your choice on a sub roll. I'm obsessed. My husband and I got a Reuben which was just fine in my opinion. I could not stop eating the chopped cheese. They make their own breads in house which was delicious and so fresh! Big fan, ya'll should try it.

In Ballantyne is a delightful secret nestled within Libretto's Pizza--a ghost kitchen by the name of Junior's NYC Deli. It was an Instagram post, a visual siren's song of a Cuban sandwich that first beckoned me, only to find myself further enchanted by the allure of a house-smoked pastrami Reuben sandwich. Unable to resist, I marked my calendar for a weekend lunch escapade. I boldly ordered both the Cuban and the Pastrami Reuben. Yes, both! Half of each was thoughtfully boxed to prolong the gastronomic joy into the evening. For those whose appetites wander to different cravings, fear not, for the Italian embrace of NY-Style pizza and dishes stands ready to satisfy. And for those in pursuit of libation, a full bar awaits. The Cuban sandwich, priced at an inviting $13, was a masterclass in sandwich craft. The house-baked Cuban bread, lovingly baked with bacon fat, cradled house-roasted mojo pork, ham, mustard, pickles, and Swiss cheese--a press sealing the deal. This, my fellow foodies, is the Cuban sandwich of my dreams. The mojo pork moist & tender, the Swiss cheese a gooey delight, and the balance of mustard and pickles, a harmony of flavors that danced in my mouth. Next up, the house-smoked pastrami Reuben, at $14, a spectacle on thick slices of house-baked sourdough rye bread. Each element, from the buttery crispy sourdough rye to the savory thousand island dressing, melded with the Swiss cheese and, in my case, sans sauerkraut. The pastrami, oh the pastrami, smoked in-house to a level of perfection that would make NYC delis weep with envy. Mike Libretto, the maestro behind the curtain, has channeled the essence of NYC's Sarge's Deli into every bite. And for the insatiably hungry, a mere $5 promises a double mountain of meat, though I found the standard serving more than ample. Ease of access? Check, with parking aplenty and free. Comfort? Assured, amidst a dining area that welcomes with open arms. My visit, at the peak of Saturday's leisurely hours, found the place abuzz with satisfied patrons. The soundtrack? A soothing blend of Norah Jones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Jack Johnson that serenaded the dining experience. Savannah, the ambassador of Junior's/Libretto's at the order counter, navigated the menu with an expertise that was both impressive and reassuring. And Mike, the visionary behind this culinary haven, radiates a pride in his offerings. Support this beacon of local business, and treat yourself to a meal that resonates with the soul seeking Cuban and Reuben sandwich enthusiasts.

Bean chili on a lasagna pizza, gross

This was my go to pizza place specifically for the lasagna pizza. However this last time I ordered it they put chili, chili with beans on a lasagna pizza. So and not what I wanted. If you don't have something, cancel my order and lose the $30. Now a regular customer is gone. Good luck if you order from here, they'll screw take out orders up via DoorDash/UberEats.

Friendly staff good pizza and little wait time. They are located in a shared shopping area so there's plenty of parking. The place is pretty dark inside, but clean. They have a small bar inside where it looks like they have their regulars. I have been here a few times once I received a pizza that was very burnt at the bottom after each person in my family got a slice we called in the manager was able to tell us to keep it and come back and get another pizza with no problem! They stand by maintaining good quality and good service. I will definitely return and hope you enjoy!

The pizza here is bomb!!! The closest thing you can get to an authentic NY pizza down here in the Charlotte area. Also, the chopped cheese sandwich from their Junior's NY Deli menu is de-freaking-licious!! Like wow! I just can't stop coming back to this place! The service is great & the staff is friendly every time I stop in- even when it's just to pick up a DoorDash order. They have a bar so you can come order a beer & a slice of pizza any day of the week! They also have some outdoor seating for beautiful days. Awesome, AWESOME little bar&restaurant! They have a digital jukebox & some kind of computer golfing game, but the only thing they don't have that I wish they did is a dart board in one of the corners, that would be really fun! :)

The Appalonia is a close second, with great flavor profiles from the sweetness of the apples and fig jam with saltiness of dijon and brie! Dislikes: I thought the meatballs were a little dry, but overall a good sub. The french dip could've used a little more flavor and cheese, but not the worst I've had! Overall Rating: 4.4

We stopped in here for a weeknight late bite when our options were somewhat limited. Thankfully at that hour, street parking in NoDa wasn't too bad, we got a spot just off the main drag. Slices here are GIGANTIC, one is easily about 3 standard slices of pizza, or two normal NY size slices. We got a pepperoni and a cheese. The pepperoni had nice kick to them and the cheese was a high quality. You had to let the pepperoni grease drain onto your plate a bit, but that is expected. The thing that makes both slices so good is the garlic butter bath all around the crust that you can see them doing in the kitchen. Not just that, but the texture in the crust will make even non-crust lovers think again. You're basically left with big doughy garlic butter breadsticks. Definitely a 5 on taste. My only complaint, and I'm sure it is partly by design to keep people from staying long, the stools you can sit on to enjoy your pizza inside the restaurant are THE WORST I have ever placed my derrier on. Even for 15 minutes, it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was painful. It took me a couple blocks to start walking correctly again. Might as well just get rid of them and have people stand to eat. Terrible. Almost knocked a star off for it, that bad. Regardless of the world's worst stools, I would come back for more pizza and just plan on not eating it there.

It's crunchy, toasty, creamy, and brightened with just the right hint of lemon. It's an absolute must-order. And when you get to the crust of your pizza, do yourself a favor and use it to soak up every last bit of that dressing. The pizza is also very very good. It is a small cute spot inside, NYC style. Some people don't like sitting so close to other customers, but I enjoy small intimate restaurants. As for the food - pizza was delish (love that they have beef pepperoni), but the viral kale Ceasar and buttermilk ice cream on the olive oil cake stole the show. I will say review that bill well once it arrives. We saw we were overcharged for drinks, our waitress put the tab of our next door table on ours. We did go back inside before leaving to get it straightened out, and they were nice about it. The waiter was efficient, not friendly but not unfriendly either, just doing his job pretty much. Would have been nice to have him check on us once or twice but again not the biggest deal. The pizza: my son really enjoyed it and gave it a 5/5 and hubby ranked it a 3/5. He thought the crust was a tad too soggy. Side Caesar: 3/5 had some pieces of the lettuce that should have never made it in the salad and the dressing was just okay. Morty: also a 3/5. Too much arugula, we took some out and then seasoned the rest with s&p and some crushed red pepper flakes. It just lacked a depth of flavor and the bread and arugula overpowered it. The seasoning helped a bit. I even added garlic aioli based on a review I read on here but I didn't taste it. The pasta salad it came with also lacked flavor, though very green and appearing loaded with flavor it was not. And when eating it, the texture was very gummy. Didn't finish that. Overall, it was okay but I'm not likely to return just because there are better options based on the things we tried. But taste is subjective and it just wasn't our vibe today. Their patio is so fun, the street you overlook is pretty chill so there weren't a lot of cars or noise. The area has good enough traffic for decent people watching, that's always fun. Our server was so funny and cool. I wish I could remember his name, but he was having a good convo with the person I was with about basketball and it was just really nice. It felt like I was home on my couch hanging with friends. It's such a cool chill place. I loved the pizza, olives app and the old fashioned. If I lived closer I'd probably go a lot more often. Great spot!!

Review for Pizza Baby…read more After a relaxing Vinyasa yoga class and sound bath at The Coterie Wellness one evening, I found myself hungry--and conveniently, Pizza Baby had just opened in the same complex. Perfect timing. Since it was still new, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and I decided to grab a table outside. The outdoor seating was lovely--relaxed, comfortable, and a great way to unwind after a wellness session. I'm a sucker for thin-crust pizza, especially when it's hand-tossed and thoughtfully prepared, so one item immediately caught my eye: the rosemary pizza with hot honey. Sold. I added Italian sausage to the pizza and paired it with a fresh green salad (I can never resist a good Green Goddess dressing). Yes, it was a little on the pricey side, but the quality matched the cost--and I was genuinely pleased with my choices. The crust was thin and flavorful, the toppings were balanced, and the hot honey added just the right touch of sweetness and heat. This is definitely a place I'd return to--next time with friends--so we can share a few different pizzas and appetizers and really explore the menu. A few practical notes: * Parking is generally easy since the restaurant shares a lot with neighboring businesses in the complex * There are several nearby spots, including a wine bar and entertainment venues, which make the area feel lively * There was some early parking congestion when a nearby church held services, but the situation has since been addressed with signage and coordinated parking solutions It's nice to see businesses and community partners working together to make things run smoothly. There's also another location of Pizza Baby that I plan to visit, which speaks to how positive my first experience was. Bottom line: Great thin-crust pizza, pleasant outdoor seating, and a convenient stop after yoga or an evening out. A solid addition to Charlotte's growing food scene--and absolutely worth checking out. And if you're already in the area for a class or wellness session, it makes for the perfect post-workout reward.
