I am writing this review thoughtfully and with humility…read more I visited this establishment as a paying customer, a lifelong San Francisco native, and someone who has lived and served in the Bayview-Hunters Point community my entire life. I came in good faith to support a Black-owned business during the 49ers game with my family and community. Unfortunately, before my family arrived, I was treated dismissively. Basic questions about wine pricing were avoided, pricing was inconsistent between servers, and transparency was lacking. Food quality and portions were also inconsistent compared to others at my own table ordering the same items. What saddened me most was the noticeable shift in attitude once my Samoan family arrived. Service suddenly became attentive and respectful. No customer should ever feel that respect is conditional. I returned the following day to address this privately and respectfully. The owner chose not to speak with me and instead directed employees to handle the matter. That was deeply disappointing. I advocate for unity in our community. We are a thriving but still underserved area, facing real disparities and in need of resources and opportunity. Businesses operating here should uplift people, not dismiss them--especially those they do not know. This experience left me feeling sad, not angry. Sad that in a community that needs healing and solidarity, discrimination and lack of class still show up in spaces meant to bring people together. I hope this review encourages reflection, accountability, and better treatment of all customers--because respect should never be selective.

Used to serve anything that's both American and Italian, until Vanessa had made it into a family run small business restaurant which was absolutely welcoming for both locals and tourists alike since 2004. It's the only reason I come to 7 Mile House during Asian History Month that aims for Filipino fun. My specialty drink: Ube Colada (non-alcoholic). I want to try the Lambanóg, but it's few years late and I wouldn't mind since I prefer any drink that's zero proof. This creamy purple smoothie is so refreshing, I wouldn't mind getting a brain freeze. Main course? Actually, I take something out of the lunch menu, which is Beyond Burger; pickles at the top, lettuce, tomato, and cheese; old school American style with a plant based patty! I eat the fries first since they're fresh and chewy. Wish I stick around for an appetizer or a salad; but given that there's several people dining indoors while few of us outdoors, I'll have to pass. Before I walk a couple of blocks toward 7 Mile House, I noticed the gas prices for both gas stations are just as high as near my neighborhood. I'll be wondering how long will a famous family run restaurant can go an extra mile before it runs out of steam. My best bet is that we must support each other as local communities, just like how the 7 Mile House of today had kept us together for generations.

For drinks, we tried the Ube-B-Boba and the Mango Margarita. The fish lumpia came out fresh from the fryer and was crispy, although pretty oily. The flavor was decent, but it really needed the soy sauce vinegar dipping sauce that came on the side to add some acidity and balance. The sweet chili garlic wings were good, but the sauce reminded me a lot of Mae Ploy sweet chili sauce. Both entrees were flavorful, but overall they leaned too salty for my taste. The pork adobo was tender, but I wished it had more vinegar and black pepper flavors. That's just how I enjoy my adobo though. I also found myself wanting more acidity in the sisig to cut through the richness. The drinks were fine. The Mango Margarita can be ordered blended or on the rocks. I chose it blended, but it was a little too sweet for my preference. The Ube-B-Boba was enjoyable but didn't particularly stand out. Overall, the food was fine, but nothing really wowed us. It's a decent spot, but I don't feel a strong need to rush back.

I ordered to-go but they have a few tables available for in-person dining. I paid about $25.50 for the bun bo hue and an order of angel wings. The angel wings - omg super bomb. I loved the flavor and texture on these, which I will be getting a lot. Bun bo hue - soo good! The noodles and broth are super flavorful, and I love the meat variety in this one. I first came here years ago, so I was excited to try it again and see how it compares. I'm always happy to support a local mom-and-pop business. (Cash only) The service was good and the food came out faster than I expected. I got the Vietnamese coffee and it wasn't too sweet, plus they didn't overload it with ice, which I liked. For mains, we ordered the Pho Tai Bo Vien with rare steak and meatballs, and the Bun Rieu. If I'm being honest, something felt different with the flavor of both dishes than what I'm used to, and the garnishes didn't appear to be too fresh so we held off on adding much. It wasn't bad, just not the classic clean taste I was hoping for. That said, we both still finished our bowls and left satisfied. It definitely tastes homemade. Nothing amazing, but comforting. And for $13, I think it's still worth stopping by to try it out and support a small local business.

We ordered for pickup via the QR code that was outside the kitchen. When it was ready, I got a message so I went out to grab the pizza but they were in the process of delivering it to barebottle so I bumped into the cook outside. They said to next time put in the notes where we were sitting in barebottle so it would make their delivery process easier. We ordered the bulgogi pizza which contains bulgogi, kimchi, scallion, and honey. The pizza itself was good, however, it was missing the funk of the kimchi. We think that more kimchi and/or a longer fermented kimchi would enhance the flavor more.

Parking is tough as expected, but as a pickup/delivery only place it's not too bad for a quick grab'n'go. I ordered an Ube Pizza, and the total came out to around $40 after tax. A little pricey considering the pizza didn't have as much meat as I expected, around 20 pieces of sausage for an 18" pizza. The pizza is on the thinner side, and I liked how it was not too cheesy and heavy. Although it's an 18", we only had 2 pieces left over after my wife and I felt full. There are parts of the pizza where they put ube filling, and you definitely taste it when you bite into it. The filling is the size of a very large pepperoni, so you do get a decent sweet flavor when you get to it. It also felt a little off that a quarter of the pizza seemed to be cut and eaten since it doesn't line up to an circle...there's a clean cut in my picture with regards to this concern. I felt that my pizza was a little overcooked since it tasted a little burnt and had some black burn marks (a little too many for a thin pizza). Is the ube pizza worth the hype? Personally, no. You don't really taste the ube apart from the filling, and even if the pizza may look a little purple, the taste was too minuscule to really tell it apart from food coloring, though it really pops on Instagram. Good for a novelty pizza, but the $40 price tag with the less-than-generous topping portions doesn't incentivize me to come back.
