We have been trying for over a year to have the Plano lifetime fitness center to stop billing our bank account. We have called, emailed, left multiple messages to stop them from billing our bank account $10.83 every month. We placed a stop payment, had our bank issue new cards twice, and do not know what else we can do to stop this besides closing our bank account. That is a major inconvenience for us. This has been a horrible experience for us. Your company is not responsive and we will do our best to make sure everyone knows what we have went through. read more

Who treats customers like this? Lifetime cancelled its beginner kids tennis classes but they will not refund the $100 gift card purchased for my daughter as a gift for these services. Called three times, nobody ever called back. So this weekend I went up there. The girls at the front desk could not help and was told that Miguel, the manager on duty was the only one who could. Well, Miguel was no help and didn't even seem to really care... all he could say was "we don't give refunds." They cancel their services and then don't offer a refund??? Please tell me how that is fair. It's not - it's basically theft. They wouldn't even put the credit onto my wife's membership account. Just beware of purchasing gift cards from Lifetime Fitness in Plano... And their cocky, smug, nonchalant attitudes. Lifetime fitness is a good gym. That's for sure. It's the Caddy of gyms. It's Globogym. But that doesn't mean that you should join. Lifetime is overly expensive for everything from monthly dues to training to the supplies and food. The only real reason I selected this club was because I am an avid tennis player. The courts were always reserved. Always. And even when they weren't you would go and there would be people playing and they would be employees of the club running a class and they'd say that they forgot to put it into the system or whatever. I don't know. Just bad. When I was finally done paying almost $100 a month I went to cancel. This is where my one star rating comes from. First I called. Me: "I want to cancel my membership." LT: "You have to come in to one of our clubs to do that." Me: "No thanks. Id like to just do it without listening to the sales pitch." LT: "I can't do that." Me: "Oh, well...hmmm...I would like to upgrade my membership." LT: "Uhhh. Uhhhh. Uhhh." Me: "I changed my mind and would like to upgrade to an Onyx membership. Can you do that for me?" LT: "Yes." Me: "You realize that's bull $@!* right?" LT: "Yes. I'm sorry." I go into the club and cancel. The guy gives me the pitch and I still cancel but then he says that I can just freeze it for no money. I asked to be sure. I even asked why the club would be willing to do that and he said in hopes that we may get a member back. So I said cool. No problem. Then in a month I saw a charge for $12.95 on my credit card from them. I thought it must just be residual membership or whatever. The next month same charge. I called and complained and guess what... My family has been Lifetime members for 12 years and before that we were LFT members in Tinley Park, Illinois for almost 3 years. When we first moved to Georgia in 2002 there was not a Lifetime health club. We were members of another health club. We were thrilled that Lifetime was being built here and immediately switched when the club was opened and have been very happy! The reason we find LFT the best health club is for many reasons. First, the club is like being at a country club. The amenities are high end, and you feel spoiled at every turn, from the shower towels, to the club towels to body wash, and shampoo provided for you. The saunas and steam rooms are nice, and there is an indoor and outdoor pools, and several whirlpools to use. But, honestly for me, the best is the Group Fitness classes. There are so many classes to choose from, and the instructors are above average and do whatever to make the members happy. BUT if you are not a Group Fitness person the facility has so many fitness equipment machines that you never need to weight to use or get on a machine you want to you. They also have a very extensive weight area with loads of free weights, and weighted machines if you prefer that. The trainers are also there to help educate members if they ever have questions. So...if you are interested in a health club, or want to change to a new club, I think you should give LTF a try! I don't think you will be unhappy! read more

Seems a little froo-froo. I joined because my beloved, Championship Fitness closed. I think Lifetime could be great, depending on what you are looking for. Me, I want to run in on my lunch and do a hard-core workout and be done. This was possible at my previous gym; I had the greatest Spin teacher of all time, Circuit Training, P-90X classes, and boxing. My choices at Lifetime during lunch: Yoga and Zumba (gag). Women ask me all the time how to get my arms and abs. I can tell ya, I didn't get them from crappy fake exercise classes! Also, for the price, (currently $98 per month for my son and I) shouldn't the cardio machines be modern? It's hard to watch television or anything. I hate cardio, so when it's necessary I really need a distraction. Lifetime is not a BAD gym. It's clean and well run. It's just not MY gym. There seems to be a lot of anorexic looking stay at home Plano moms - full makeup and head of curls to WORK OUT . Oh God, the Monday noon Cycle class is LAME-O! The instructor's choice of motivational music is anything but. Maybe it's just me, but I want some metal or gangsta rap, (even top 40 would be ok) to get my heart rate up. horrible services at Aquatics center. Chase is the worst manager. Please do not take classes here.... You will be disappointed... He does not provide good customer service ..He lies to take more money out of you.... and if you wanted to go down from private lessons to classes, he told me that there are no classes available(lying)... After that I spoke to one of the instructors and she was so shocked to hear this.... I had been paying 50 dollars per 30 minute session for my kids but the swim instructors were a no show several times and when I complained they told me that it is not true.. such a disappointment.!! Also note that when I call to reschedule my make up lessons or to ask any questions, no one is available to pick up the phone or reply to voice mails!!! how ridiculous.. they charge way too much money to ignore me.. I was paying about 500 dollars a month!! but I did not get the service worthy of this... otherwise GYM is great and classes are good too .. but I am just really disappointment with the swim management... some of the instructors were good but they are only instructors and do not manage the class schedules or customer service.. I wish is looked around harder when I took the tour. There are no TV's or personal fans on most of the equipment. The free assessments are mostly sales pitches. I signed up for personal training and while some things about my trainer are great, there's definitely a push to sell you more stuff. She keeps advising me to buy their protein powder, or spend more money on metabolic assessments and training. At the end of the classes there seems to always be an advertisement for either a seminar (another $25 please) or the protein shake you should get at the cafe. You want to take yoga great, but you want the beginners class, that will be an extra $110 please. I moved to Texas recently from Florida and I miss my old gym. Things like seminars were included in the membership. And I miss the fans everywhere and the TV's on the machines. This might be okay for you if you're highly resistant to sales pressure. It is clean and the people are nice. I'll probably continue though, it's just close to my house. read more

I have been a platinum member of this club for more than 2 years. I got tired of their hidden charges that creep up into your card statement unannounced, A joke of LTF bucks, Over-crowded gym (even on weekends), smelly showers and lastly rude customer reps - yes, they have a way to get into the thickest of skins and piss you off. Stay away from this place. Even when cancellation time came they gave me such grief I can't put in words. In the 2 years I had been a member here, I went there for about 4 months. I preferred going to my apartment gym because it was less crowded and honestly, just better than facing the clown staff at lifetime. If you're looking for membership I'd say check out LA Fitness. It's not going to be as grand and fancy looking like Lifetime but you'll be at ease, grief-ridden and just overall happy. Recently moved to LA Fitness. I would say for fraction of a cost ($29.99 at LA Fitness over $96 at LTF) LA Fitness is the best bang for the buck. What do you miss (only initially though) at LA fitness that LTF offers? 1. Free towel 2. Steam room 3. If you swim, the swim suit water extractor. What you gain by joining LA Fitness? 1. More money in your bank 2. You realize you dont need free towel and swim suit water extractor 3. Customer reps who don't piss you off 4. No creepy charges that get you furious and agitation from trying to get an explanation 5. Less crowded than LTF 6. If you live in uptown area their signature club has towel services 7. No such thing as INITIATION FEE or CANCELLATION FEE stuff Also - when you cancel the Lifetime membership - you still pay for 2 months and a CANCELLATION FEE. First off, great facility and heard wonderful things regarding classes being offered; however, just wanted to share a (hopefully one-time) experience I had with the staff. When I took off for vacation to see my family for the holidays, I wanted to try out gyms in the area--I would be moving back to the Plano area shortly. I saw that Lifetime Fitness was offering a 7-day trial online and you would just have to chat with an account manager to activate the trial. Unbeknownst to me, this was a 30 minute pseudo-interrogation session where the account manager tried sizing me up to see how likely I was to purchase the full package. She opened up the conversation asking where I went to school in a dismissive tone only to find out I am fully-employed; she then questioned where I worked and after realizing she might be able to squeeze a few monthly subscriptions out of me gave me a 2-day pass, exclaiming that only someone who would dispute a 7-day pass would be a person unwillingly to purchase a full membership. I understand we all have to meet margins and revenue goals, but what is the benefit of allowing a grown man to try out a gym for 2 days versus 7? Anyways long story short: if you're a yuppie trying out gyms in the area, prepare to strap on the polygraph if you want to try out Lifetime. read more

I was a member for 16 years. When the club first opened it was awesome. Then it kept on changing. You could see the budget being cut. Equipment, looks good, but most need maintenance, you can feel the ballbarings slip. you can hear the lack of proper maintenance. The Water refill stations filter lights and counters have been disabled. The movement is towards having a trainer or attending a class. Nope, not my style. Very nice gym, nice amenities, I do prefer the Frisco location, nonetheless a very nice gym. However after today I don't believe I will be returning and will stick with the Frisco location. After checking in I was told by Missy that I was not allowed to visit that location as my membership at Frisco (much more expensive membership) did not allow me into the club that cost less because "it was a single club membership". My situation was handled very inconsiderate. Never have I felt so disrespected at a gym. I have been to lifetime Plano many many times before and I've never had an issue, but Missy completely ruined my perspective on what I believed to be a prestigious club. Not to mention she turned away my friend because she was a minor, yet and never had an issue prior to this. Keep in mind this friend and her family has been members at Lifetime Plano for about 20 years now. Very disrespectful and ill- mannered experience. I joined this gym 4 months ago. It's clean, has lots of classes and a lovely pool. However, I noticed the employees were solely focused on sell sell sell. The gym and staff were not giving the best quality of services provided. Then they decided to raise the membership rates, so I decided to Cancel. I chose to try The Bar Method, Plano. Best decision ever. I've achieved my fitness goals in one month and continue to drop inches and become ripped & lean. All of which could not be accomplished in the 4 months at Life Time Fitness. You'd have to try this gym for yourself with one word of caution, don't believe everything they tell you. read more

This review is for the spa. It used to be such a great spa a few years ago. But now, WORST GEL MANICURE OF MY LIFE. All of the hairdressers that used to work there are all gone. Not to mention, they have a new front desk addition that is merely a poor excuse for a receptionist. In the hair area, if you had someone from before for many years, they are all gone. It is an all new cast now. I can't talk on behalf of their skill, because I have not experienced any of the new hair people. However, I can speak for the nail department. The nail tech is AWFUL, and this is the one with the 12 years of experience! Literally, the worst gel manicure of my life. It looks like I did an at home gel manicure, and I have zero years of experience. The new spa receptionist is just as bad. She is all over the place, uninformed, and lackadaisical. Overall, Lifetime Plano needs to step up their spa game and rethink the management and hiring in this department of their gym. read more

This is like the Bentley of the fitness world . Went up here just to take a tour with a few friends just thinking to myself a tour of a gym? Come on man how many weight sets are we going to see. Psh, My gosh what don't they offer at this thing. Basketball,pools,hot tub and a freakin water park for kids outside was this a gym or Disneyland. The locker room reminded me of an NBA locker room never seen anything that nice. Massages and not just the normal sports i'm sure they offer those black heat stones ones. Across the hall from the massage deal is a cafe what? Get your protein shake and a freakin roast beef croisant with swiss chard lol. If you want a place to call home cause it's dang near one sign up and enjoy but the asking price is steeper than the stairs in the 300 section at the American Airlines Center. Once we got into the nice plush office and the sales women started her pitch i'am sitting here this HOW MUCH, HOW MUCH. It slipped out 30 seconds into it. She told us just the monthly due sands the enrollment fee and i could of swore she just told me i won the texas lottery. Now if i had the money maybe but there are other gyms so i had to pass. I have been a member here for like ummm 6 years. I love the kids areas. My daughter has done the summer camps and has made some of her most favorite memories there! Yippee!! Well now she's too old for that stuff (shes 11) and the club doesn't have much for her until she hits 12. Really I'm here for the group fitness. They have BY FAR the most diverse selection of classes on a constantly rotating schedule. Which makes it really interesting for me! I'm a fan. I would have given this place 5 stars if it had more parking, less crowded and most of all I have a sneaking suspicion that they do no clean the equipment in the group fitness areas. If you're familiar with Lifetime Fitness this one is the same layout. Really fine facilities. A couple tidbits. The mens shower door hinges need to be on the other side. or the space across needs to be wider. You push the doors in the cover the shower controls and you need to squeeze through to shut it. Or you pull it out and the little hallway gets all blocked up. The $3, 4, 5, dollar breakfast, snacks, and lunches respectively are great deals. I've gone to the other LTFs near me: Trinity Mills, 75, but this one is the best, to me. People are little more friendly here and I really enjoy to energy. I've taken a few yoga classes here and they seem to go at the perfect pace for me. The other LTFs are either too fast or too slow, and I've been to a few classes there too. There's always enough equipment for lifting and the machines are rarely full, even around 6pm. One thing I think I'd change would be the soap in the bathrooms, but it doesn't deserve to lose a star over it... Just bring your own! I plan to use the outdoor pools on a Saturday for tanning and leisure swimming. The saunas and two large jacuzzis are never full. Love this location the best! read more

Freakin love this place! I'm there M-F in the morning and it has everything you'd want from a gym. Pools are awesome, hot tub, yup it's awesome too. Super clean locker rooms and friendly staff. My only frown is the smoothie bar is very pricey. I use to get protein shakes made at Golds for $4.50, here they're $7.95. Other than this, 100% worth joining! read more

Awesome gym, with every amenity you can think of... it's the top shelf of gyms.... I personally like how they renovated the workout machines and they now have nice new treadmills with big screens that you can plug your IPod into... really cool. I'm also a big fan of their Water fitness program.... they have so many to choose from. This is now I believe the 3rd time they've closed the basketball courts indefinitely, while leaving the weights upstairs completely open. Completely unfair to take away part of the membership and not lower costs. The only reason I'm a member is for the basketball courts and they can't seem to get it together when it comes to enforcing masks. Don't wear a mask upstairs they don't blink an eye, but when people don't wear masks on the basketball court they shut it down. I get the strictness during covid, I wear my mask at all times but at least enforce the rules fairly. If you're going to close down one part of the gym might as well close it all down. read more

I wanted to increase my previous rating for this location because one of my complaints has really been fixed. The aquatics department has a new director as well as some new staff and I have noticed many improvements in my kids' lessons and the program. I love this place, I could live here! It is expensive, but you are getting a lot. I like that the childcare center is open all day and that the facility is 24 hours. Genuinely can say that we have had an incredible experience at this Life Time location. Every employee has been more than kind and helpful and I feel completely comfortable here which is a lot to say from someone who is terrible at working out. My trainer has the patience of a saint, the front desk staff and child center staff have taken the time to get to know us and make us feel welcome, the cafe staff is incredible and have helped me so many times. The management team is thoughtful, organized and helpful and we just appreciate this place a lot. Thank you for all y'all do! read more

The Alpha Fitness and LF Fitness trainers are beyond obnoxious and a huge turnoff for a "regular" member paying a premium for monthly gym membership. Went behind a trainer today to get one of the two foam rollers that were left. He grabbed both of the rollers, looked behind me and said, "oh do you think want one of these" then continued to walk forward so I had to chase after him to get it. Asshole. Then he didn't even use the 1 foam roller he had with his loser high school student that he was training as he leaned over watching and yawning as he did so. Such a shame. We pay a lot of money to have a membership here. The cardio and weights floor needs management. You are turning off your members that already pay a premium. Shouldn't have to pay an additional $290 per month to get some respect. read more

This place is massive! The parking lot felt like a mall and once inside there were tons of people everywhere. It was way too crowded for my taste. They have a rock wall on the side of the basketball courts. All the staff that I encountered were extremely friendly. I only visited the the group fitness room during this visit which I found to be surprisingly small compared to every thing else and it didn't take long for the room to get heated up. Child care area was huge with a Basketball court, climbing nets and computer center. All the Lifetimes I've been to so far have had the Life Spa and Life Cafe and this one was no exception. The locker rooms were clean and fully stocked another consistent observation among all the Lifetimes I've visited. Over all It's a very huge nice gym but one that I won't be visiting often since it's out of my Bronze realm. read more

Nice place but the staff is not so nice. Unapproachable, irritated if you have any questions and if you are lucky to catch them they are always in a rush. They can't be bothered. I came back from a 4 year break. They charged my card and told me the new price. Done and done. Ummmm ok? I had to ask for the class schedule, I asked about the app, personal training, Child care hours and child swim care. He was very annoyed. Geez sorry. I was torn between Cowboys Fit or here. This was a GREAT fitness facility when it opened. The classes and instructors were outstanding. I recently visited the facility and was disappointed that it seemed to be deteriorating. Lifetime Fitness in Plano is a welcome respite from the craziness in our world right now. The staff is amazing and works so hard to keep the facility clean and safe. The tennis staff is great and the classes are fantastic. My favorite are the Surrender Yoga classes. Imagine an hour dedicated to meditation and stretching. Sarn's classes are incredible. She brings such a calming focus to her classes and you leave feeling restored and full of peace. I highly recommend you check out Lifetime and especially one of Sarn's classes. Been coming to this location for several years now. It has been more or less of the same experience. The equipment is constantly getting upgraded. The upholstery gets also replaced constantly as well. It is quite clean and it shows by the maintenance personnel that is fixing everything. The gym has numerous activities that sets it apart from other gyms (in my case, the rock climbing wall and tennis courts is a big plus). Location is perfect for me because I live in the area. For what you get the membership is reasonable. If you have a significant other to split the cost, it gets even better. read more

Reminds of home only BETTER!!! Clean areas, all around. Guests mind their own business and make for a pleasant visit. State of the art workout machines. Pool is great to doing laps, both indoor and outdoor. Kids seem to REALLY enjoy the outdoor "water park". Front desk staff very pleasant and informative. Outdoor snack shack has very friendly service and food is decently priced and good. Didn't visit the spa or the tennis courts (neither indoor or outdoor), this time around.
