There were many other, very interesting and very affordable apps. I limited my drink to the espresso martinis because that's the way the night was rolling out. For some reason, maybe they're connected, they advertise their espresso martini as following the recipe of Breeca, which is a restaurant in the North End. Whatever, it had a very different taste than other espresso martinis. I've enjoyed elsewhere - it tasted like an old fashioned fudgeicle. So a little bit more chocolatey and creamy than you might find elsewhere. And yes, it did carry a kick. Add to that the restroom was within the the restaurant in very convenient.

We thought a drink by the water sounded great. Para Maria is just across the street from a waterfront spot that is very popular, so they don't have unobstructed water views, but we knew the water was there. And on a hot summer day in mid-August, they had the big garage doors open to the outside. It felt like we were somewhere beautiful and relaxing on vacation. We took two seats at their very large bar (which was not very busy at all on a Friday in the afternoon) and ordered a couple of drinks. Mine was their Picosita (Lalo Tequila, Ancho Reyes, Mango, Jalapeno, and Tajin rim), which was perfect for a summer day. I'd love to return with a group, because their margarita pitchers come in lots of flavors/styles (classic, strawberry, lychee, guava, coconut, and spicy), and that would be a great thing to share with friends on the patio of the bar. The meat tasted a little plain, and some extra sauce or being offered condiments would have helped. The truffle fries had a mix of crispy and softer fries, which I actually enjoy. The calamari was delicious with its creamy dipping sauce. The Mini Tuna Tacos were easily my favorite. Fresh tuna with a light, crispy shell and plenty of flavor. I'd order those again without thinking twice. Service was where the experience fell short. After our food arrived, our waitress didn't check on us again until we were basically finished. With barely any customers in the restaurant at the time, I expected the service to be more attentive. I would have ranked this spot higher, but the overall service could definitely improve.
