The whole process was effortless and less expensive than my DSL while receiving the friendliest customer service from the team beginning with Tobe who came to our door, explained the process and signed us on for the install. Installers Dylan and Matt were efficient and even came back after install to help with connecting my 2015 laptop to the new fibre optics. Started with !Click years ago which has morphed into Harbornet then Rainierconnect and now Lightcurve. They were all better than Comcast of the 90's. Several years ago Rainierconnect lowered rates but didn't tell me until a service call a year later. Now, Lightcurve isn't priced competitively with Quantum. Twice the speed for the same price. Upload speed is 5 times as fast plus you get $20/mo off AT&T wireless. The last kicker is that even though I have been a customer for 20+ years, they won't put a forward on my email account when I quit. Costs them nothing but they say screw you. read more

When it works it's decently fast. I pay for 1gb/s bu t most I've ever gotten was like 650. We get consistent drops in service though. I have a strong router and also a repeater so the entire home is covered but the speed drops to 1-2mb/s a few times a day. Theres no app or updates to knownif service is down. Been out of service completely for a couple days in a row every few months. The customer service guys in the repair trucks are great but the phone customer service is useless the only thing they'll tell you to do is plug in the modem. Price is good but other than that it's not a really reliable internet. Had much better experiences with Comcast and Lumen. read more

Signed up on a Thrusday came Friday and did the install 3 guys, 3 hours and didn't leave until; 6:30 pm. Once they switched over and left the service has NEVER work - no internet, no TV - run a business from the house and can't do that. I called their 24/7 tech support ten minutes after they left and never got a call back - called several times got three ticket numbers and still no call - It has been 4 days since they ruined my internet connection and still no one calls to help or solve. Called my old compnay and they had someone here within three hours. Lightcurve has NO cutomer service and their tech support is a joke, just a glorified answering service. Well, when I called about two years ago, possibly three years ago, the gal at the office was always the same, and Brighton, bubbly and very friendly. Now, when I go to pay my bill, the gal behind the counter is rude, dismissive, borderline abusive. I think when she sees someone paying all cash, she tries to piss them off so they will walk away without the receipt like I did and then I did about face at the door and said no I'm getting my receipt first. So I'm super angry that they have such a non-people person at the counter because I just really don't wanna go to the counter and pay my bill. I just don't wanna deal with her. I called and left a message for the manager about my dissatisfaction and I never got a call back The tech guys are awesome. They all get five stars. The front gal gets -3. Management follow through may have been stopped before it got to the manager, so I'll give him a two because possibly he may never got the message because someone was trying to cover their Kister. So I'd say with some of the friendly gals that I've spoken to in the back room at a five just like the tech guys I'd have to balance the whole thing out as a three. It would've been so easy to be a five star quality company they have the potential. I think that most of the services has continuity and not spotted. Beware! When you close your account they automatically charge you for the router and powercord. $189.60 and you have 90 days to return it to them to get that charge back. LightCurve's Stream TV is awful! Every time I "TRY" to watch TV, the stream glitches or outright stops (server error) even though our internet service (also through LightCurve) is still active on desktops. The techs are always polite, but also always tell us that the problem is OUR hardware, not theirs, even though we have relatively new hardware, recommended by them. Right now, only insofar as we know, we have been without Streaming services for over an hour. The voicemail at LightCurves says they are having a power outage (Streaming only) and they have no estimate of when it will be available again. And no, they don't give credit when they don't provide a service, so consider that before you chose a relationship with this company. I'd like to first mention that I've been a customer of Rainier Connect for almost 2 decades. I used their services as Net-Venture when my College aged child was a baby, and I've always had an easy time utilizing their services and was happy to work with a local company instead of a mega-corp (*cough*Comcast*cough*). This all changed August of this year, when I moved. The company doesn't service the building that I moved to (from a home to an apartment), and while that is unfortunate I at least wanted to retain my personal e-mail address I have had with this company for a long time, one of those e-mail accounts that is tied to so many things I would rather pay the small fee monthly to keep access to it than to no longer work with the company and lose access to the e-mail. Well, apparently giving your new address and information over the phone to Customer Support following my move in August wasnt good enough for them, as they mailed me my paper bill ($15.xx plus fees for three months of e-mail for a total transaction of $19.08) to the wrong address and it was returned to them as 'unable to be delivered'. Instead of calling me, they e-mailed me instead. Then, due to non-payment of the bill they sent to my new address (the one I couldn't receive since they mailed it to the wrong address), they shut-off my e-mail account on Friday morning 10/15, so I lost access to it for several days, and of course access to any transactions, purchases, security codes, and more over the course of this past weekend. In attempting to work with the Customer Service dept. over the phone today, they wanted me to go through all the steps as to how they could have gotten my address wrong, where to mail my new bill, etc. but could not explain to me how a past due bill worth less than $20.00 resulted in the (temporary, they said) shutting down of the access to my e-mail address. I lost eBay business over the weekend because I couldnt access my information. After four calls with Customer Service today, I finally got someone who understood what I was trying to explain -- unfortunately instead of coming back from putting me 'On Hold' they either lost their connection, or hung up on me. Without explaining the resolution to the issue, or why they took my payment over the phone transaction at 9:33 a.m. and didnt restore my e-mail service until almost noon. I have regained access to my e-mail, but at what cost? Personal and otherwise. This company has lost all semblance of what it means to be forward facing and customer oriented, in an age where consumer faith is at an all-time low. I can't recommend them to anyone in this current state, and I never thought I'd be writing a negative review for my 'Local ISP' that was at one time absolutely stellar. Lightcurve took over Consolidated internet service in June 2024 and started sending emails that went to my junk mail. They canceled my automatic payments that have been paid without issue for the last 12 years and the only way I found out was when my internet was shut off today. I had to pay $345 in fees for it to be turned back on whenever they can get around to processing this. Wow, I've never seen a company as unprofessional as this. read more

Overall meh! At hook up we were told we would have access to all the same channels we had before. I was not able to add Netflix to the home screen Favorite Apps. After two calls to tech support they told me they don't have an agreement with Netflix so it can't be added to their lineup. You need to have a Firestick or equivalent to watch Netflix. Definitely not what I was told at start up. Maybe you should include a Firestick with your package and that might smooth that issue over. It also randomly buffers quite often. Also if you like to keep tabs on two sports events don't be in a hurry to go between the games as as a lot of action will take place before the screen opens. Picture quality is good and I picked up many new stations even though I probably will never watch most of them. read more

It's not this particular shop, but it's Xfinity in general. They have a monopoly on Internet service so basically although they have the best service, they also have the very worst customer care or customer support. The bill will go up. When you call, you'll never get someone who speaks good enough English that they can actually understand what you're asking or do the research to figure out why your bill is going up or is in accurate. You have no recourse once they decide, you owe a certain amount of money because they are incapable of correcting billing errors. I understand because of the monopoly they have it will be difficult to find a different service, but if you do go with Xfinity just be forewarned that you are going to be paying more and more and more with zero way of protesting a bill and getting someone who can help or will help. I still have the same problems. Tons of buffering, 30 seconds to 175 seconds per page, dial-up wasn't that bad. Dropped calls daily on my google voice and dropped Zoom conferences. Not enough bandwidth for my presentations and I am not on their budget lowest plan. I'm losing so much business, I am forced to go back to Xfinity. So sad. read more

As a result, we had already paid Consolidated for the upcoming billing cycle, yet Lightcurve still was expecting for us to make a payment to them without receiving or checking with the previous owner on that payment already being sent. I have made phone inquiries and via the website... And I have yet to receive a response much less resolution. After sending a second payment, they now owe us money! I explained this clearly three times but the representative did not understand what I was saying regardless. I kept asking for a customer service supervisor to no avail and finally she agreed to have one call me. I have Rainier Connect at 2 properties (Tacoma and Fife) serving 7 tenants where I provide WIFI service included with the rents. I assumed Rainier Connect after a very disappointing handover from Advanced Stream, who I felt had much better customer service. The city of Tacoma has done a terrible job forcing the aggregation of providers and ripping off the public. What else is new? Rainier Connect regularly disconnects my internet service to my properties if I fall a few days behind. They even disconnected me after I paid them, and I had to file a formal complaint with the WA State Utilities and Transportation Commission. There is no ample disconnect warning and setting up autopay has been a major pain with them... they won't do it over the phone. In general I've had a very hard time dealing with them. Any savings over competitors simply is not worth it, and I want out as quickly as I can get out. I would warn you against doing business with this company and I am finally sitting down to look at their competitors. read more
