This is the worst customer service I have EVER received from any company ever. In the overtaking of the Click! Network they bullied Advanced Stream out of the market, and even tried undercutting the lowest cable bill before they essentially cut them off. As a loyal customer to Advanced Stream for over a decade, I tried to stay with the this reputable small business until the end. I have to say, Advanced Stream severely dropped the ball during this transfer of service, however, and greatly impacted their entire customer base. In true fashion though, from what I can interpret from their customer service so far, Rainier Connect is not worth considering as an alternative to other providers. I dare say I will deal with Xfinity hell before I support this company. I called at open of business the day I heard my Advanced Stream account was cut off, hoping to keep the low rate I was offered by Advanced Stream of $45 a month for 100 gb service. I was added to a list by the Tech Support, and told I would receive a call back. Then, over the course of two months I received emails stating that I needed to contact them to transfer service, but if I had already, not to keep trying, and that I would receive a call. Low and behold I receive an email in June saying they had contacted everyone already, and I needed to call again. I called, again contacting tech support only, and had my name added again to the list. I also filled out a "contact me form" on their website attempting to have someone call me while I was on the phone with tech support. A couple of weeks later, I received a bill for services I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR. I called once again, only to get Tech Support and my name added to another list. Still no phone call back. After 6 attempts at calling over several months, I FINALLY got ahold of customer service. They essentially told me that they couldn't offer that introductory rate because it expired. I was told I had to pay the more expensive rate simply because THEY COULD NOT CALL ME BACK. I spoke to a manager, who was going to look into if she could work something out, and I agreed that she could call me back. Yet another week later, and I still hadn't heard from the manager. So I call again - get to Tech Support once again, who finally transfers me to customer service. The customer service rep says, I have asked my manager, and she has said I have to handle this call and my manager can't do anything about it. Either pay the bill, or I will cancel your service today. Well thanks a ton! I am working from home. I have to have service. I have been diligently attempting to sign up for service for almost four months, and am insanely irritated with the lack of ability or willingness to be a good business and honor the rates I had previously, which were dictated by your own company! Your failure to accommodate this transition and fairness to your customers is noted. I hope you enjoy the $100 you made as I cancel my service as soon as I can get signed up LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

This company is horrible! I accquired service in Spanaway over 10 yrs ago. It was the only service available other then Comcast. I was looking for a lower rate then Comcast. I had their service very briefly. My interenet connection was always going out and I was having issues with not being able to make long distant phone calls. I called for technical help several times and had a technician come out to swap the modem. Problem continued so I cancelled my service. I turned in my equipment and they continued to charge me for an additional month of service. I refused to pay the closing bill. They sent this $240 balance to collections. I'm now selling my home and apparently they put a lien on my home. $1000 of interest SMH! Rainier Connect did not provide me adequate service and were not able to fix the issues but boy are they adequate about sending you to collections. A collection company I might add that stays very quiet and I can only recall receiving a couple of recorded messages from them that seemed like scams so I didn't reply. Then they put a lien on your home. I never was made aware of the lien until just now since my home has sold. This should have never been sent to collections in the first place. A company should stand behind their quality of service and customer satisfaction!!! read more

Yelp keeps deleting my cheerful review of the poor quality of service I have received from Rainier Connect. Their customer service is rude and unhelpful. Their internet connection is spotty at best. Dropped or Slow Pings- The problem is the number of times the Internet either drops for a few minutes is more frequent. I work from home and my customer pay the price as well. So Rainier has not only failed me but my customer too. I often just turn to my iPhone hotspot which works always is is so much faster. Rainier said I have a Patch cable issue and the front desk said to come on in (but wait a minute). Then the manager said no, we don't have those, just go buy one at WallMart. He then said he as had 18 patch cables fail over the last few years ... the fail all the time. That is not likely in my book. I have been at net-venture since 1999 (16 years) you think a $3.99 cable and customer satisfaction would mean something. They couldn't wait to get me on the phone. That's the truth. I hope the city decides soon what is going to happen with Click!. Comcast Might be the worst but I am not looking for a friend in an ISP. my brother died and the nursing home couldn't get Rainier Connect to DISconnect his service. They said they had to have a copy of the Death Certificate. Being next of kin and an authorized user on the account, I called and was TOLD THE SAME THING by both the rep and the supervisor! I let them know I would not be providing a death certificate to cancel the service. They finally agreed to "let it go." The amazing thing was, I, as an authorized user, could ADD to the service any time. And the nursing home said they disconnect service ALL THE TIME. Yet, WHEN YOU'RE DEAD, they don't want to disconnect the service without a death certificate - even if you're an AUTHORIZED USER who has modified the service for your loved one earlier! read more

Blistering speeds of .3Mbps pretty routine,dropped connections and weekend service is even worse. Yeah,that's point 3 Mbps out of an advertised 15Mbps.It is shameful for Rainier Connect to take its fancy services to Tacoma subscribers,leaving the Eatonville rural base in a bandwidth backwater. Unfortunately, where we live this is the only service provider we could get whereas in another parts of town there's Comcast. I really hope they move over here soon. Our download speed is normally about 5 or 6 Megabits/second, and sometimes it goes down all the way to 1! And the funny thing is, we pay for 10. The internet crashes regularly due to some "outage" or whatever they claim it is. I would not recommend Rainier Connect ever. Comcast offers much better prices, deals, and they're big enough that they don't have an "outage" every other week. read more

I also had Netventure for years with little to no problems. Ever since Rainier connect has taken over there has been nothing but problems with my billing. Which by the way is supposed to be set up for auto pay every month. Needless to say the first few months they couldn't get it right and of course I wind up paying late fees because of their inadequacies. It seemed to be ok for a time until June of 2016 came home my cable was off called they claimed because of non payment. I was like WTF so I go down to their office and the receptionist says yes you are setup for auto pay. It just didn't go through for some reason. Today just received an email from them saying I am overdue again with another late fee attached to it of course. As of today I have signed up with Advanced stream. read more

I finally gave up on hearing from the supervisor at Rainier connect and called in today. Just more of the same "we're not satisfied until you're not satisfied" style customer service. I was a life long lover of net-venture. I had great speeds, no down time, no lag. after they got bought by these clownshoes ( I love it) my speed was junk, they throttled my connections and never helped me with customer service OH! and they are charging a 20.00 fee if your card declines from NSF fees like taking more money from already poor people is a neighborly business practice.... when I dropped them and went with a sweet comcast deal I took the modem in and cancelled my service they didnt even ask me why.... over all I am sad that a great company like net venture turned into clownshoes. read more

Now, we moved away forgetting to disconnect service. Two months later I am on the phone with them and they won't let me disconnect or pay the bill. I wanted to share the amazing experience I had a few weeks ago with Rainier Connect. My children were home for the holidays and they complained that my internet speed was too slow. I called Rainier and increased the speed. When the left back to college I called to decrease back to my typical speed. The had the privilege of working with Sara and she was amazing. During the call I learned that my credit card did not go through for my prior payment and realized that I had failed to update my new card information with them. I did not have my card with me and told them I would have to call back. After the call ended Sara move forward with making all of the changes I requested, removing the fee charged when my card did not work and then called me back to get my updated card information later in the day. I felt very special and important that she made the effort to call me back. She went over and above by taking the time to take care of me even after the call was over. Very impressive. read more

Rainier Connect Sucks. Same pattern I see on other reviews. Service was great with no issues on Netventure. When Rainier Connect bought them out, the service problems started. Been with Rainier Connect for about 5 years. Great service at a great price. Receive prompt calls back when I have an issue. There IT was great at explaining how to walk through slowing speeds to determine if it was the service or the router (It was the router). Have only increased my speed once in 5 years due to many more devices regularly being connected to the internet. read more

Initially their service and speed was very reliable, but over the years it has gotten worse and worse. I use it for real time internet games and sometimes there is a 3 to 7 second time lag in both download and upload, which can make playing almost impossible. I assume that they have oversold the bandwidth and have not upgraded their equipment. I would change to another provider, but I'm in the middle of something that requires me to stay with my current address. Soon that will change and so will I. read more

After living in Eatonville for the past eight years and being happy customers with Raineer Connect, we have had a terrible customer service experience. If you are thinking of signing up with this company, read on. . . On Thanksgiving, my husband and I came home to find our TV picture and sound frozen. After consulting our trouble shooting guide and following all the trouble shooting instructions, apparently our cable box/DVR player was on the blink. The next morning, I called Raineer Connect and was told someone would get back to us ASAP. A few hours later, I called back to get a timeframe and was told there was no work order in the computer. The second person gave me a ticket number and said someone would get back to us by Monday. Guess what! By Monday afternoon, my husband called the company again and again, there was no work order. My husband is wheelchair bound and a rep made him hang up and go through all the trouble shooting things I had already done on Friday. One rep even threatened to charge us $85 if they have to come out. Bottom line, my husband made FIVE more calls before someone agreed to come out. The next day, the following Tuesday, a service tech came out and couldn't figure out what was wrong with the set and replaced it. Hearing this story at work from my husband, I left a voicemail from the General Manger to call me back. To date, I have not heard from him. There also has been no apology and no offer to credit us with DVR service we did not have for over four days.. read more

Business owners, BEWARE ! Our internet connection is down again, and it's 4th day! We have been using Rainier Connect business internet service at our motel for the last 3 years. We run our internet and phone service on that internet connection. Last year, one of the guests downloaded a movie from the room, and Rainier Connect just disconnected our business internet without any warning for 3 and 1/2 days. They required that we put stronger firewall, so enhanced firewall was installed. 4 days ago, another guest downloaded a movie from the guestroom, and our internet, phone, fax is down for 4 days. I have talked with Rainier Connect customer service begging them that there is just so much that an innkeeper can do to prevent guests from downloading movie from the guestroom, and Rainier should stop PUNISHING their customer to go through financial damage and inconvenience to the motel guests. They don't listen. They keep saying they are working on it, but no action, and just keep punishing. They just don't care. Yes, they may seem a little cheaper, but stay away from them. Take advantage of Comcast promotions and get better deal and reliable service. read more

The service is extremely terrible and half the day my internet cuts out and dose not work. Im trying to run a business and I rely on having internet, so its devastating to my business when the internet only works half the day. I'm leaving this company after one month of service. I moved to Tacoma to start my new job. I decided to use Rainier Connect because there were no other ISP's in my area. A lot of people here complain about the service outages and the weak service, but I moved here from a shack in Tibet - That stuff doesn't bother me. Shit happens, I get that. What does bother me is how reckless Rainier Connect is at preparing their equipment. They gave me the basic equipment, but I noticed on the first day that they didn't use salt coating on the modem, which is the first thing they should do. I figured, "Hey, it'll be alright, maybe they used other stuff to prevent demons from possessing my computer.". Nope. Two days in, I noticed that various numbers were changed to 666 in the web browser. Google News gave news for May 666th, 2013. That's not even a real date - it's an obvious haunting. Then, various strange supernàtural things started happening because they didn't provide ANY protection against supernatural beings in their modem whatsoever. No salt coating, no consecrations, not even back-up holy water containers just in case. It's impossible to use the internet when the souls of the dead are trying to convince me to kill my neighbors. It was especially frustrating because I write as my primary hobby, and every time I write things, the demons start to change the text without me knowing it, which ruins the storyline. It gets worse - I called Rainier Connect and asked them to provide me with a modem that wasn't haunted, and they just laughed me off like I was joking. Assholes. Needless to say, I'll be switching ISP's. They're nice people but their internet regularly crashes at peak hours right around 6pm every single day and doesn't return to normal and regularly disconnects until about 6am. They're too small to provide their clients with par internet service and it's frustrating because if you go a few miles north of Eatonville, xfinity and century link are available. My review is not about internet service, which has been fairly reliable. On the other hand, my cable TV service is seriously lacking. I can't begin to tell you how often EVERY DAY my cable service experiences pixilation and/or loss of audio and/or video. I complained a year ago to the FCC (and much to my surprise, they responded). Rainier Connect told them the problem was their receiving signals from a location near our military base, JBLM, and that the problem was nearing resolution. Well, I can tell you without reservation the problems have NOT been resolved. Tonight I'm trying to watch the Mariner's game on Channel 510, and it simply isn't there, but maybe for a few seconds very two or three minutes. I'd sign up for Comcast in a heartbeat, but I've heard so many horror stories about Comcast, I'm afraid I may be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. read more

I had net venture for 2 years, never a problem. Then without telling me, without sending any letter, Rainer connect takes over my internet. First problem, since I did not know who was trying to charge my account I had to cancel my credit card. Second problem, I started having spotting Internet, someday no problems other days lots of problems. I call, they say in two seconds nothing wrong her its your router. So I check my routers, nothing wrong with them. So I call back, spend an hour and they could not figure anything out, so they said advance tech will call me. Great, advance someone who knows what they are doing. Several hours go by, I get a call from advance tech, he tells me that Rainer connect internet is not supported with iPad and hung up. As I called him a moron. 5 days later they disconnected me from there Internet all together. If I could I would give them a minus 5 star. This company is the worse. I went with another company, been with them two days, have had no problem with my internet working with iPad. So if you have iPad, take it as a sign, Rainer connect does not work with it and find another company, the other company works great with click cable and with iPads. read more

First, don't consider this provider unless you want to experience being lied to, watching them pass the buck and point fingers at click for the BS I have gone thru with these guys. they disconnected my service without any reason and it was out for 7 days before they finally figured out they made a mistake, all the while they tried to blame the problem on click, saying that clicks service techs were the ones who physically disconnected my service, then when I go down to click, they point out that they only do what the work order call for, which was to disconnect my service, and the only ones responsible for issuing the work orders is Rainier connect. for 7 days rainier said the problem was with the lines, then I find out there was nothing wrong with the line, it had been disconnected up on the pole. there was absolutely no reason for doing this, I was and still am completely current in my account, and these guys contend that click did it, click says it was rainier connect who put in the work order, and rainier is now silent about the issue, I emailed them after click came back out and reconnected the line, asking them (Rainier connect) how they were going to remedy the situation, a prorate on the next bill minus the days I had no service? what about the unjustifiable loss of my internet for 7 days, I use my computer for my college assignments and school work, and 7 days without internet access was really rough, as I rely on the internet for my school work research, and for 80 % of the time everyday, like placing a vehicle on line to sell, look up phone numbers, read the news, check the weather,and many other things, (I did not realize just how important internet service is in everyday life until this BS they pulled on me) and I am going to find a more reliable provider that actually has "customer service", and dump these wannabes, and if I could have given them a minus number, I sure would, like a -10, if I could. so if you are looking for internet service, don't look at these clowns, they lied to me, passed the buck to click, pointed fingers, and overall have been lacking in customer service in the worst way. and by the way, click is a very good company, I thank them for helping me figure out who did what, they were doing what the work order said to do, and I find Rainier 100% responsible. Shame on you, Rainier connect, man up and admit responsibility, and at least answer the customers email(mine), with a reason of some kind for ordering the disconnection of my service, and you can't try to say I had a overdue bill, I was not behind in my account, just tell me WHY, as had you at least answered my email, I might not have written this review. maybe you should try to figure out who made the mistake and send some people to pr school, along with sending some of them to the clown school you must send people to . read more

We had Net-Venture and were very pleased. When we were changed over to Rainier Connect we noticed our signal constantly dropping. When it works, it works great but randomly we lose our internet. Usually for just a minute or so but sometimes for several minutes. Sometimes 1 person has internet and the other 1 or 2 people don't. We have called Rainier Connect several times and they are always very nice. After some troubleshooting they suggested we buy a different modem/router. We are now on our third modem/router with the same problem. We have made multiple calls and Rainier Connect seems eager to help but no matter what we do the same problem persists. We even have signal boosters and attached the modem/router to a very high shelf. It has improved somewhat but not completely. Frankly I think Rainier Connect grew too much too fast and are not capable of handling the sharp increase in users. The staff seems very nice and I would imagine at some point they will work all the bugs out but I am not sure I am willing to hang around until then. read more
